On Dancer! On Prancer! On–Oh, I didn’t hear you come in. Welcome, reader! Grab some egg nog and brandy it up to the fire. You look festive. I love that Rudolph tongue ring. That’s the great thing about Christmas, no matter what your interpretation is, it’s all about commercialism. That’s unless you light the Munenori Kawasaki. The 2020 fantasy baseball rankings are not far away. Right now, January Grey is throwing darts at a board to figure out where to rank Shohei Ohtani, the hitter vs. Shohei Ohtani, the pitcher. Maybe I should use two dart boards. Hmm…In the meantime, let’s look at the players who have multiple position eligibility for this upcoming 2020 fantasy baseball season. I did this list of multi-position eligible players because I figured it would help for your 2020 fantasy baseball drafts. I’m a giver, snitches! Happy Holidays! I only listed players that have multiple position eligibility of five games or more started outside of their primary position. Not four games at a position, not three, definitely not two. Five games started. If they played eight games somewhere but only started one, they are not listed. 5, the Road Runner of numbers. So this should cover Yahoo, ESPN, CBS, et al (not the Israeli airline). Players with multiple position eligibility are listed once alphabetically under their primary position. Games played are in parenthesis. One big take away is Jonathan Villar started in, like, 200 games. That can’t be right. Oh, I know, they’re listed if they had 5 or more games started, but I noted games played in parenthesis, so Villar must’ve switched positions three times per game or played two positions at once because the Orioles only had seven fielders plus a pitcher. Don’t know, don’t care. Players are listed by Games Started, and Games Played are noted. It’s not confusing at all! This is the only time a year I do anything alphabetically, so I might’ve confused some letters. Is G or H first? Who knows, and, better yet, who cares! Wow, someone’s got the Grinchies, must be the spiked egg nog talking. Anyway, here’s all the players with multiple position eligibility for the 2020 fantasy baseball season and the positions they are eligible at:

CLE traded kluber for almost nothing (delino and clase, clase appears to be getting leverage right away at RR depth charts), WTF is going on there? unless they think he’s just broken or something. but even then how do you leave that deal getting only that.

and this can’t be right, but NYY intend to get lucky again on urshela, playing him OVER andujar?! this could just be an early depthcharts thing.

exactly, his value should be a good deal higher than that with 2 years left on contract. plesac/civale ain’t making up what he is over those 2 years, and even if one of them did that they should be getting more for him right now.

Grey,

What are your thoughts on this deal:

I give up: Justin Turner ($33), I have Vlad jr. and Jose ramirez for third, Craig Kimbrel ($28) and Dillon Peters ($6)
I get: Nomar Mazara ($28), Daniel Hudson ($6), Raisel Iglesias ($39) and $10 in salary.

Should I accept it?

Merry Christmas to all the Razzball razzballers.

Garrett Hampson would be super valuable with three position qualifications if, you know, the Rockies would actually play their young talent more than twice a week for two innings.

Dominic Smith can rake, but his OF defense is like watching the Statue of David shag fly balls. And I’m pretty sure he will not overtake his main competition at his natural 1B position for the Mets. They have this polar bear with forearms bigger than my thighs hitting the planes flying overhead with his batted balls.

Agree. JD Davis is a super duper looper snooper sleeper. Too bad he’ll be kept in my NL-only auction league.

Dom Smith is trade bait USA. Some team will be happy to get him. I have him for a $1 to keep. Can you say Miami Marlins? Well, can I write it? I can’t. Or did I just write it?

With your insights I’ve gotten, Albomso, Alvarez, Mercado, Robles, Eloy, Robert, & Bichette for a combined $38 to go into the draft.

Thanks. Its winner take all, and not part of overall pool, just a potential $1700 entry to the ME. I’ll take that chance. But, yeah, barring any injuries my team looks like it as good as any others in the league.

Do you think giving up Luis Urias, Garrett Hampson and Reynaldo Lopez for Zack Wheeler fair or is it too much? Happy Holidays buddy

Let me explain it another way. It is the three team deal i told you about. Team A wants to do this: Trade Lucchessi, Urias, Hampson and Lopez to Team B for Gio Gonzalez and Zach Wheeler. Then Team A trades Wheeler and Raisel Iglesias to me for Darvish and Justin Turner. What are your thoughts for Team A, B and then myself regarding the deal?

Thanks Grey, this is such a useful tool for quick reference come draft prep season!

My dumb CBS AL-only league has Nick Solak as DH only, since he didn’t play more than 20 games anywhere in the field… now he’s gonna be clogging that spot in my lineup. Still think he’s worth keeping on the cheap? Here’s my projected draft day lineup…

C empty
C empty
1B Nate Lowe $10
2B Brandon Lowe $1
3B Rafael Devers $21
SS Marcus Semien $8
OF Aaron Judge $37
OF Eddie Rosario $17
OF Ramon Laureano $18
OF empty

DH Nick Solak $9

Got no pitchers worth keeping. Other hitter options are Mookie ($56), Austin Hays ($8), Sean Murphy ($4)…

Well, very thorough work, Grey. The one number that stood out to me as al all-in-on-McMahon is that he had 19 GP at 1B so he was one shy of eligibility this year in NFBC. That doesn’t hurt his value in DC so much, but is kind of a pain in regular format. I’m hoping he gets ten starts there quickly just in case.

Well, I’m 3/3 on drafting McMahon, Civale, Kopech so far. Ive got several 2/3. Clearly I like those guys. Im real confident in the first two. Kopech is a little iffy with Keuch and Gio signings if he’s not dominant in spring. I think he’ll force the issue if he’s back to 100% though.

Hopefully I get something more like 150IP 12-6, 170K, 3.60/1.25. That would probably be a near best case scenario unless he goes all Buehler on us or something crazy.
