    How hard would it be to do Stream-o-nator for relief pitchers? I love to stream middle relievers, but right now I have to roll my own projections. Since Stream-o-nator works well for starters, why not add relievers, too?

    • It’s not impossible but there are two key limitations:
      1) Do not know if a reliever will be pitching (vs probable pitchers)
      2) Do not know the batters he’ll be facings (vs projected lineup)

      If I did it, I’d have to assume they faced the ‘average’ of the opposing lineup and maybe make an adjustment to reflect the % of RH/LH PAs they typically face (e.g., a LOOGY faces mostly LH). Park factors and home/away is easy.

      Will keep it in mind for an in-season addition…

        I just saw this while scrolling through the ombotsman. I also like to stream MRs and setup guys in a SV+HD league, and have been doing it manually. An RP tool would be amazing just to automate the process. I think the biggest thing for “streaming” RPs would be the following:

        1. How many times have they pitched in say, the past 5 days? Those that have had 2 or 3 days of rest in 5 should be favored. I think this, alongside the RH/LH PAs faced adjustment you mentioned is an acceptable way to see who would be pitching. RP’s are volitile, us tool users would just have to accept the low correlation. The tool IMO would be more about saving research time, since I could spend 30 minutes doing all this manually or 5 minutes looking at the tool and get roughly the same results most likely. Realistically its a crapshoot either way. You might even be able to offer up adjusting for the Streamonator estimated IP for the SP – if the SP is projected for 7IP, the 7th inning guy should be devalued that day, for example.
        2. What situations have they been called in to pitch for over the past 30 days (not season-long, RPs are too fickle). Not sure if you have this in your data sources, but I’ve been looking at the Leverage Index on fangraph’s stats page to see who is getting into high-leverage situations more. Those that are in higher leverage situations should be favored (I feel like A: more valuable in saves/holds leagues, and B: the pitcher is probably better given that a team would favor it’s best RPs in high leverage situations).
        3. Whether or not the team is favored to win. Can use vegas odds or the projected runs for a team to determine this. Obviously, for saves and holds a win is necessary.
        4. Maybe keep track of saves over the past 30 days as well for saves-only leagues. Might help in “closer by committee” situations, but that may be outside the scope of an RP-stream tool.
        5. Obviously: standard pitching stats should be applied to value.

    Having a lot of trouble with the “DraftKings Tomorrow” links for DFSBot hitting and pitching. Cannot get the spreadsheet to fully load, it is always truncated by the “Thanks for subscribing! Just give us a couple of seconds to refresh” box, which will not go away.

    This would not be a problem if the daily spreadsheets refreshed earlier. It is 9 am on the east coast, why does DFSBot still show yesterday’s games?

    • I tried pulling tomorrow’s DK data as late as 11:30 last night. Not sure why it only provides 100 players. Will run it in a few minutes.

    I’m having some trouble reading the ‘Last 60 Days’ distribution chart. Are the StreamONator $ projections on the vertical or horizontal axes?

    • @Mike: Quick note that I’m updating this for 2016 so you’re looking at 2015 data. The 2014 and 2015 Ombotsman results are linked at the top if you want to look at them. The Streamonator projected $ averages are in the “Stream-o-Nator AVG$” column. The column to the right are the actual averages.
