Hope everyone had a fun Fourth of July! I spent it as our forefathers would’ve wanted: Driving around with an oversized sombrero screaming, “The British are coming,” while I had Cougs hoist a portable TV out our Celica’s sunroof, that was playing the World Cup match. Though, our forefathers would’ve wanted us to say a soccer game not soccer match. Sorry, old dudes! Have you been captured by World Cup fever? I watched soccer for the first time in maybe ten years this weekend and I have the best idea that only someone unfamiliar with the rules can come up with: A substitute who can’t play soccer but is schooled at Juilliard for acting. You need someone to sell a flop? I have the perfect person for you! “Whoa, here comes, Jeffrey Sag-Aftra, and he’s wearing a turtleneck. One of the best floppers in the entire league.” Any hoo! Eury Perez went into Bing Bong and threw a perfect game [covers mouth] for seven innings! Expressed also: 7 IP, 0 ER, 0 baserunners, 8 Ks, ERA at 3.84. I can squint and see Eury on the verge of being a superstar and throwing perfect games every time out like a Misiorowski. I wouldn’t say he’s there yet, but that’s the stuff and what it can do. His command is still too wonky. This is hilarious in a bad way: His Barrel% is 14.8%. Ugly. If he qualified, he’d easily be worst in the majors. That means he misses over the plate way too much. So, for now, lots of up and down starts. Yesterday was clearly what’s up. Now, back to soccer, is there anything illegal about a goalie who is the size of the goal? Anyway, here’s what else I saw this weekend in fantasy baseball:
Sandy Alcantara – 8 IP, 1 ER, 7 baserunners, 8 Ks, ERA at 4.00. April? Awesome!!! May? Oh, this is bad! June? We’re cooking with gas! July? “Wait, it’s July? I thought it was still June.” That’s Sandy, the Ride-Or-Die Monthly Splits Guy.
Zack Gelof – 1-for-4, 1 run as he was activated from the IL. He missed the minimum amount of time. Though, time is an illusion, so who cares.
Jonah Heim – 2-for-4, 6 RBIs and his 9th homer. Hit ’em with the Heim!
Heriberto Hernandez – 2-for-4 and his 10th and 11th homer, and 2nd and 3rd homer in three games. Might be a light schmotato, but you have to take every hitter coming out of Bing Bong with a grain of salt.
Otto Lopez – 3-for-4, 2 runs, 3 RBIs and his 9th homer. I love him so much I’m renaming my self-driving robot, Otto.
Gage Jump – 3 IP, 6 ER, ERA at 3.98. Sure glad I started him at home. [constructs a wall out of bricks, slams head into newly-constructed wall] Gage is a Road Scholar only, until further notice. Yes, I’m more or less telling myself.
Joe Ryan – 7 IP, 0 ER, 4 baserunners, 9 Ks, ERA at 3.36. Hmm, let’s check in on the Yankees’ lineup! Jasson Dominguez is their three hitter, Volpe hitting 5th, Ryan McMahon, who should be a fielding coach is hitting 6th or 7th, depending on the day and/or Boone mood, and then it gets really bad after that! Yankees currently have six automatic outs in their lineup, and Cody has been in a month-long slump.
Byron Buxton – Left the game after aggravating his hip. He said to his hip, “You’re not so hip,” and his hip got aggravated. Or maybe it happened when he was sliding into 2nd.
Ryan Weathers – 4 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 4.29. Never seen a guy who’s more “pitching with a tired arm” than Weathers.
Braxton Ashcraft – 5 2/3 IP, 1 ER, 8 baserunners, 7 Ks, ERA at 3.24. Currently working on the top 100 for the 2nd half (out on Patreon this week, on the site next week), and I can’t believe how great Ashcraft looks or, and this is a rather large-sized or like you’re rowing in a Viking boat, there’s just not that many solid pitchers overall.
Bubba Chandler – 4 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 4.82. Bubba is a garbage start lubber.
Bryan Reynolds – 1-for-5 and his 13th homer, and 2nd homer in three games. Mr. Excitement bringing all the balls out of the yard.
Brandon Lowe – 1-for-5, 3 RBIs and his 21st homer. B. Lowe below all the guys I roster at 2nd base who I drafted B. Fore him.
Cade Cavalli – 2 1/3 IP, 3 ER, ERA at 3.88. Nats bumped him up a day to get his start in before his suspension, and that did not work at all. Let’s hope he’s fine on the other side of the suspension. At least I’m hoping because I need him. Yes, this is about me!
Luis Garcia Jr. – 2-for-5, 2 RBIs and a slam (19) and legs (3), six homers in the last eight days, after hitting 11 HRs in June. LuGaJu doing an incredible Juco Loco impersonation.
Dylan Crews – 1-for-3, 2 runs and his 6th homer, hitting .232. Ya know what kind of year he’s having? Dylan Crews, 2027 Fantasy Baseball Sleeper will be incoming.
Hunter Greene – 3 1/3 IP, 8 ER, as he was activated from the IL. The good news is you still have your health. Unless you don’t. I don’t know your health situation. I guess I shouldn’t say your health is good news. Well, the good news is you’re alive. I think. I guess a dead person could be reading this. Okay, so there’s no good news here! Sorry! Hopefully this was just rust and Greene’s healthy. His velocity was down as the game went on, but that might just be rust.
Nick Lodolo – 6 IP, 1 ER, 8 baserunners, 4 Ks, ERA at 4.68. I’m willing to get back in on Lodolo, but this start wasn’t that and I still have zero trust in him.
Spencer Steer – 1-for-3, 2 RBIs and his 14th homer. Just looked at Steer’s last month and cackled. He hit .159 in June.
Tyler Wells – 1 IP, 0 ER, ERA at 3.02 on Saturday, and the 1st post-Helsley save. Oh, this was Saturday’s line from the 2nd post-Helsley save. I’m merely saying he got the 1st one too. Tyler Wells: SAGNOF.
Kyle Bradish – 7 2/3 IP, 3 ER, 6 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 3.75. Eminem was B-Rabbit and if he turnt up he’d B-Radish.
Manny Machado – 1-for-2, 2 runs, 3 RBIs and a slam (18) and legs (2), hitting .189. Macho, macho Machado!
JP Sears – 5 IP, 0 ER, 3 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 4.70. If you had the marbles in your melon to start him at Uniglobe Dodger Stadium, you deserve this start and a brain test.
Ranger Suarez – 2 2/3 IP, 3 ER, ERA at 3.15, and left with adductor tightness. One of youse jinxed my beautiful Suarez, and I blame you, whichever you it is.
Jarren Duran – 2-for-3, 2 RBIs and his 13th homer, hitting .197. Finally secured his 13th hit of the season! Woohoo!
Willson Contreras – 1-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 20th homer, and 2nd homer in two games, hitting .284. Contreras is the Red Sox lone bright spot this year. Fitting that he’s also ejected every third game.
A.J. Ewing – 2-for-4 and his 5th homer. A.J. homers that’s an Apple Jack!
Nolan McLean – 6 IP, 2 ER, 6 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 3.73. He’s going to be so good next year when I don’t have him on any teams. I already know how this shizz works.
Martin Perez – 4 1/3 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 3.54. At least this schmohawk is no longer pitching well. It’s Haterade, you should drink it some time!
Drake Baldwin – 2-for-4, 2 runs, 4 RBIs and his 15th homer, hitting .251. Not sure when he hit this grand slam. I shut the Mets game off when it entered the bottom of the 9th because it was out of reach.
Kyle Leahy – 5 IP, 0 ER, 5 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 3.86. Streamonator hates his next one, and I’m starting Leahy every time out in one league because I have no choice. Pray for me.
Jordan Walker – 1-for-2, 4 RBIs and his 20th homer. I look at Jordan Walker on other fantasy teams and whisper, “You’re on my team in my heart.”
Rafael Devers – 2-for-5, and his 17th and 18th homer, 2nd and 3rd homer in three games, four homers in five games. Devers delivers!
Drew Gilbert – 4-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 4th homer. Gilbert’s huge day was a tie-in with Netflix’s brand-new Little House on the Prairie. Too bad Landon Knack isn’t in the majors.
Brandon Woodruff – With a fastball down seven miles per hour, he left Saturday’s game and hit the IL with an inflamed labrum, which I relay to you while hang gliding over the Bermuda Triangle because what’s the difference anymore?
Jake Bauers – 1-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 16th homer, hitting .266, 2nd homer in a week. Bauers powers!
Brandon Sproat – 4 IP, 1 ER, ERA at 5.13. We take one step forward then one step backward. Can we not take the backwards steps anymore?
Eduardo Rodriguez – 6 IP, 2 ER, 5 hits, zero walks, 3 Ks, ERA at 2.25. Another guy who began this season in an international tournament and has excelled much like the World Cup. I’m big soccer guy now. EdRod’s having one of those seasons when he regresses it’s going to be so incredibly monumental.
Sean Burke – 6 IP, 1 ER, 7 hits, zero walks, 11 Ks, ERA at 3.56. Ya know, the White Sox were so bad two years ago that I think people assumed they’d never get better. Fair assumption, but you did a bzzt wrongo. Burke is one of many players who legitimately got better this year. His numbers say he could even become better going forward (next year).
Colson Montgomery – 2-for-5-, 2 RBIs and his 23rd homer, 2nd homer in two games, third homer in the last five games. Colson is the best Montgomery. 1. Colson 2. Mason 3. No 3. 4. Alabama city 5. Braden.
Kyle Teel – 1-for-5, 2 RBIs and his 2nd homer. Also, in this game, Tristan Peters (2-for-4) and his 5th homer, and I thought his name was Triscuit and got noshy.
Sean Newcomb – 1 2/3 IP, 0 ER, ERA at 2.58, and his 3rd save, and 2nd save in a week. Once I say he’s the White Sox closer, you’ll grab him and say, “I got a Newcomb, same as the old comb,” and someone else will get the next save.
Tanner Bibee – 4 IP, 6 ER, ERA at 4.06. Don’t have him anywhere. Tannerfreude!
Chase DeLauter – 2-for-5, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and his 8th homer, hitting .272. I went to look when his last home run was and it took me so long to find it I dozed off. (May 17th) DeLauter might be coming out of it though, as we learned with Dansby.
Mason Englert – 5 2/3 IP, 2 ER, 6 baserunners, 9 Ks, ERA at 3.82. Brucely, I appreciate that the Rays invent guys. “This starter is called Mason…Englberthumber–uh–ert!” He was a middle reliever, and will go back there, likely. Just a command, low stuff guy.
Hunter Brown – 4 IP, 6 ER, ERA at 3.38. It doesn’t help that we have The Return of the Bouncy Ball, but Brown is also not 100%. He hasn’t looked it since he returned.
Christian Walker – 1-for-4 and his 20th homer. Elias Sports Bureau said Jordan Walker and Christian Walker both hit their 20th homer on Sunday and…that was when Elias’s computer froze.
Isaac Paredes – 2-for-4 and his 12th homer. Didn’t realize there was 12 weeks already played, but there must’ve been because Paredes homers once a week.
Peter Lambert – 5 2/3 IP, 0 ER, 4 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 3.26. Promise you, I keep looking at Lambert after every solid start of his, and there’s nothing jumping off the page. Solid real-life starter, and Streamonator for shallower league fantasy.
Aaron Nola – 7 IP, 3 ER, 7 hits, zero walks, 7 Ks, ERA at 5.87. If you got this far into a Nola blurb without noticing his 5.87 ERA, you might be eligible for the class action against him taken up by his fantasy owners.
Jesus Luzardo – 6 IP, 1 ER, 4 hits, zero walks, 9 Ks, ERA at 3.75. As I consult the rest of the season projections for the top 100 for the 2nd half, I keep seeing Luzardo and his entirely too favorable projections. I’m not falling for that tailpipe banana.
Jake Burger – 1-for-4 and his 15th homer, hitting .246. Burger hit that one animal-style!
Jack Flaherty – 5 2/3 IP, 0 ER, 3 hits, zero walks, 5 Ks, ERA at 4.60. I wanna tell you something and plain and simple as I can that is more of a vibe than based in reality. If you pick up Flaherty, he will be the worst thing you’ve ever seen. If you leave him on waivers, he’ll be solid. So, now you have to ask yourself, how much do you care about your fellow man or five womans?
Casey Mize – 6 2/3 IP, 2 ER, 7 baserunners, 4 Ks, ERA at 2.64. Mize has some of the best underlying stats from a guy you might not expect. Though, maybe your big brain does expect them. I don’t know what’s jingo-jangling inside your giant head. Impressive melon, by the way.
Riley Greene – 3-for-4, 4 RBIs and his 13th homer, 2nd homer in two games, hitting .292. He also made a fantastic catch on a liner off the bat of Nimmo, and you have to wonder if he could’ve made that catch with his feet like in soccer.
Emerson Hancock – 7 IP, 0 ER, 2 hits, 2 walks, 5 Ks, ERA at 3.23. Piggyback my ass! Which is also what I say when my Uber asks if I have any special route I want them to use.
Logan Gilbert – 7 1/3 IP, 0 ER, 1 hit, zero walks, 7 Ks, ERA at 3.19. I feel like a proud papa, but not of a son but of a starter who I drafted 1st. That’s what I want to see every time out.
Shane Bieber – 4 IP, 7 ER, ERA at 9.00. March Grey, who is currently vacationing in Cabo Verde with swimsuit models, will return next Spring, and not remember the great stuff Zack Wheeler or Bryce Miller are doing, and will only remember Bieber as a cautionary tale on why you should avoid injured pitchers.
Bell or C Walker at CI. Ten hitting cats. Need walks, any hits, fewer ks
Bell is probably over with now. Come on man.
Hi to Matt
Start Messick or T. Rogers this week?
God I love ABS. Nunez groundout overturned, bases loaded, and I’VE GOT WOOD!
Woooooooooood!!!!
He hammered the snot out of that ball. It might still be going.
Anyone starting roupp at home vs Toronto?
Seems fine
Happy Monday Grey!

would you trade trea turner for william contreras
Yes
i would be getting contreras. i currently have abrams at ss and baldwin at c. i like contreras but is this a winning side? other player is desperate
Would you start Logan Henderson (@STL off IL), Melton (ATH) or Valdez (ATH) this week? SON likes Valdez the best…my CBS points leage ranking like Henderson the best.

Trade Brandon Lowe for Hunter Greene? NL only OBP, QS
Sure
Oh great Grey,
can only start 1 this week in a pts league:
Bradley CLE, LAA
Seymour NYY, SEA
Taj
Well that was not nice of C. Sanchez! Yikes!
My points projection went from like 325 to about 285 in a matter of 2 hours – HA!
Hopefully he’s not hurt. He was wrestling a bloody blister last outing, but still pitched well.
Yeah, that’s the concern

Would you do Hunter Brown, R. Saski, and Max Muncy for G, Crochet, P; Tolle, and B. Eldridge in 10-team keeper dynasty league
Brown side, it’s fair…impossible to really rate because of injuries

Thanks!
Jeffers
Thanks. Any concern that Jeffers will lack strength from his hamate surgery?
He might
are any of woodruff, logan henderson, ben brown, soroka droppable in a 10 team redraft? only have 2 IL spots so two are sitting on my bench.
unless i missed some recent b.brown news i’d think woodruff the first drop. recurring injuries quite bad in general, and he’s most recently injured and he even before his last 2 IR stints for same thing, already entered season injured.
Woodruff and Brown
Which side do you like?
Skenes and JRod or Riley Greene and Skubal?
JRod
Grey,
which 2 should I start this week?
Burke ATH
Detmers @TX
Eovaldi LAA
Eury CLE

nobody should be surprised mize is finally developing into a top SP, he was the one for a while not skubal of a lot of DET guys that were ranked as prospects quite high. m.manning flamed out (wasn’t he the most athletic one but less control, that never really showed up), mize had stuff so good his lack of athleticism was barely worried about to the point where he destroyed the minors so easily MLB hitters became the first brick wall in probably his whole life (like the kid who’s told how smart he is his whole life, and never really had to try till college or later, often these don’t amount to much since they never had to learn to work, even though their potentional was huge). madden by now at best gets 2-3 good innings per outing, and even those aren’t common (and they’d prefer to keep up say a brieske/holton over him). early on there wasn’t any consensus on how that group should even be ranked, most were mize/skubal/manning for a while, but not everybody.
meanwhile KC and DET both had several top end pitching prospects in that same time range, and of the KC guys i remember singer being the one nobody thought would end up good at all, just up earlier than the others. and he mostly hasn’t been really good, but boring innings hog that can at least keep a job, he ended up the best of all of them (so far, but even if lynch continues to improve as he has this year it would take a LONG time to make up that WAR gap him to singer by time their careers are over, and/or fantasy value). bowlan took that many years and several teams just to even be a somewhat leverage RP (and say 2-3 months ago didn’t even have that yet). d.lynch even more so (but even last year he was in the running for the worst RP in MLB that for some reason still got leverage now he’s KC best RP). another one of them i forgot his name never got a chance at KC really, and got moved to SEA, and there couldn’t even keep any type of RP job, hasn’t been spotted in MLB since. pretty sure KC’s group since it was a bigger group, was generally at the time ranked better slightly than DET’s group.
TINSTAPP is real: correlation rates on prospect rankings lists and them ending up great, good, have a job at least (but this group often means near zero shallow league fantasy value, i.e. singer i’m sure is a barely used streamer in some depths), never stick to MLB at all are all seen at decent %’s. and all those guys that hoard pitching prospects as a high % of whatever amount of total guys they stash, and those that always pay up every year for whatever that year crop of supposedly top end guys, wouldn’t like to see the have a job + never stick to MLB types %’s added together. mize esp taking say 6ish years to go from the goodish (or even not good but have a job) to great group, not super strange (if he continues down this path i mean, he’s not done it long enough to just assume it’ll hold i’d think). mize had 440 or so innings of not great prior to this year, likely in shallow even dynasties not kept by his original owners till now to see it.
Yeah, totally
Need to drop one: Gelof or Durbin
12 tm obp league
Durbin
Is Barger worth a bench stash in a 12 teamer, or is this a lost year?
Nah
Seymour or Melton. CBS shows only one start for Seymour vs Yankees. Melton got Oakland.
Melton
Drop Reid Delmer’s for Jake Bennett ROS?
No
Hey Grey!
Bazzana or Dubon ROS? (Feel like Bazz is topping out but don’t want to drop in the event he fully ripens this year)
Also, yet another show: “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed.” Wild stuff. Apple TV scores again.
Thanks!
Bazzana
Ah, nice, will check it out
Soda for Ashcraft fair or too much?
It’s fair
Start Messick @ MIA or Jax 2-start week @ home against NYY and SEA?
Jax
Start one, sit one for the week-
Lauer vs Col
Bradish vs KC
Need all cats, but Ks would be helpful
Start Bradish
Lange or Yohendris for sagnof?
Lange
drop one. brooks lee, adames, o’hearn, jake mccarthy, antonacci, adell
Adames or Antonacci, depending on needs
Does Owen Murphy looks good enough for a speculative pick-up?
Depends on the league
Hey Grey – randomly lots of interest in my Aroldis Chapman. Trying to decide if any of these options makes sense and, if so, what the best option is. It’s a 12 team weekly roto, with 9 pitcher slots to use as you like. I have Baker and Megill as my other two closers to Chapman. To max Wins and Ks, I usually like to run with 2 RPs and 7 SPs since save opps are sort of random anyway. With that said, here’s what I’m looking at…
Options 1 and 2 were offered to me. Option 3 is likely also on the table.
Do you like my side in any of these, or would you hold?
1. Sounds like a decent gamble 2. Meh 3. Sounds fine
I’d do 1
Thanks! Slight update – the LuGaJu offer from other side just came in, which would be Eovaldi + LuGaJu for Wheeler and JWilson.
So now it’s between….Chapman for Cole and leave it at that. Or get Cole and Wheeler for the total package of Chapman, Eovaldi, LuGaJu. Any final thoughts?
LuGaJu would be replaced in my lineup by Kody Clemens / Lawlar (if he’s ever healthy).
Thanks!
Eovaldi side
thanks!
No problem
Hi Gray –
Why no Logan Henderson love relative to other 50s-60-ish ranked SPs in your writeups?
Granted, small MLB sample size, but excellent extension, high spin, elite changeup, fine K%-BB%, great quality-of-contact stats …
Do you think he’s a HR liability, possibly? Something about ur take I want to understand better …
Thank you, sir!
I don’t know what you’re talking about, I like him
only thing i can think of is answer to pizza(numbers) below today, where you had cantillo above him. that likely was in a very non vacuum redraft answered question, and most of those are very short term oriented both for the questions and the answers. henderson is about to come off supposedly non healthy state (i’d take 2-1, 33% of the time or better, he wasn’t hurt at all here) and those inherently more risky in a redraft/short term sense. i seem to remember months ago you saying henderson was one of the better stashes even for redrafts.
My impression over several days and recent columns:
(1) Not that you don’t *like* him, but you like Hancock, Seymour, Cantillo better.
(2) Logan unranked in a group of these three + Detmers (I get that Detmers is better)
Not challenging you. Just trying to understand what’s behind ur take … thanks
he’s also likely worried about an innings cap on henderson, re: redraft value. i’d want to lay money that is already why he was “back” IR’d. having said that, i’d bet none of us would be surprised that say 2 weeks from now henderson is ranked even higher than detmers (you, me, grey)
Hadn’t considered the IP cap. Brilliant
i wasn’t even aware of that 3 IP each last 2 outings in minors (did read i think he’s ONLY had 2 total rehab starts in minors though which doesn’t really tell us whether actually injured or just innings being curbed somewhat, nor does the 3 inning outings, but obv if that is translated to MLB that sure isn’t too useful) when i typed that. having said that brilliance is over my pay grade on that guess, teams just tend to do that with guys like him, and the times they don’t, they tend to get injured even more likely (probably not a LOT more often though, pitchers get injured all the time anyway, but i’d guess something like 15-20% at least more often when they give them massive innings jump from the prior year)
Henderson went 3 IP in his last 2 rehab starts…He could be better, but you’re talking about guys who have pitched start after start decently…if you want to go for Henderson’s upside, go for it, I like him, hopefully he’s fine
Thanks, Grey. And Triple J. Makes sense. G – You’ve been mentioning getting burned by injured SPs, and I’ve been burned too.
No problem
everybody has, if you don’t it’s like rolling a 12 on a die or something along those lines, and almost certainly are in like one total league even if that. what these guys do (pitchers) ain’t normal for our current human bodies, and even then only a very small % of us humans can do it any % of the time anyway.
Lineup lock, start 2;

Hey Grey! Trying to decide on whether or not to leave Langliers active this week or plug in Joe Mack. Shea has a thumb issue, A’s seem optimistic he’ll be ok. IL still a possibility. Thumb injuries extra tough on hitters, would you go with Mack? Heard anything? Hope you had a great 4th!
Play Mack
Happy 4th, man!
Thank you brother
No problem
Hey Grey,
Keaschall (6, CLE, LAA) starting to heat up a little bit. Would you start him over any of the following?

Mead (6, HOU, NYY)
N. Marte (6, PHI, CHC)

Grey, curious your thoughts on this trade:
Alex Bregman and Braxton Ashcraft
For
Aroldis Chapman and Carter Jensen
Looking to trade Chapman for a starter and this seems like the best offer I have on the table. Is it enough?
Doesn’t seem it
Continuing to scrounge for saves.
1) currently own Baker, Jansen, Gomez and Lange. Is that the right order?
2) guys like Romano, Alvorado, Webb, Santana, Wells are avaiable.
a) Make any switches with the guys I own?
b) top three from the available guys?
TY!

My starting pitching is pretty solid but I have two starters on my bench with 2-starts this week, Tolle (at White Sox, at Mets) and Cantillo (at Minnesota, at Miami). Would you start either or both in place of Seymour (vs. Seattle), Rasmussen (vs. Yankees), Trevor Rogers (vs. Cubs), Melton (vs. Athletics) or Burke (vs. Athletics).
Tough call, I think I’d go Tolle over Ian for that extra start
Please pick the first and second drop from this list for my H2H yahoo redraft league:
Isaac Paredes
Jake Bauer’s
Jake McCarthy
Jonathan Aranda
Dylan Crews
Thank you!
Paredes, Crews
would you start Edman this week over a slumping Bellinger? Thx
No
he’s edmaning around lately: i.e. some leg injury that could easily go from “no big deal” to “out weeks” that turns into months, that turns into some sort of leg surgery with x as the come back time, that actually ends up being 1.5-2xx (he’s literally done this dance twice since being on STL)
leg/foot/ankle i’m grouping together, esp on somebody like edman.
Happy belated 4th Grey!
Looks like Logan Henderson will be coming back this week either @STL or @PIT. Would you start him over any of the following:
Seymour (SEA)
Eovaldi (LAA)
McLean (BOS)
Messick (@MIA)
Thanks! No
Are you starting Jax at home versus the Yankees today?
Yes
Grey,
would you trade Kyle Tucker for Cody Bellinger and Emerson Hancock?
Yes
Hi,
Would you trade Devers for Guerrero in a 14 teams Keeper League ?
Would you trade Tatis Jr for Turrang in the same league ?
Thanks
Jogon
Yes
Yes
Braden or Noelvi as a bench bat?
Jared Jones ,Melton or Cantillo?
Thanks!
Braden
Melton
Heriberto Hernandez I am trying to understand statcast better.
But how is he not a star or a star on the rise?
I combined last season and this season…he has 440abs and 21 homers with about a 250 avg and a 330obp.
He doesn’t play against most righties
That’s fair, I think he did, but Conine came back, but didn’t do much when given a 5 game run.
But looking at last year and this year, he has no splits issues.
I just keep looking and intrigued by the profile.
I don’t dislike him
his only time in MLB he’s been treated AS IF he’s got serious platoon problems and worse he’s not even on the good side of this (l.garcia is a guy on the good side of this). i ain’t here saying that’s smart, but that’s how he’s used. he’s a guy even in 16’ers that’s never held long, why, since nobody wants to hold long on a guy that doesn’t play say at least 2-3 out of any 5 games. he IS very often one of the better batty calls in 16-20’s (sometimes shallower) from this though.
Would you start McCarthy on the road all week over E. Valdez and Yellich? thanks in advance.
Over Valdez for steals, otherwise, no
Please rank ROS: Clemens, Mead and Riley. Thanks
You did
I’d like to take advantage of MIL or STL with 8 game weeks but the available options aren’t too exciting and most are in a platoon. If you had to pick one of these guys who would it be:
Winn
Church
Frelick
Fermin
David Hamilton
Vaughn
Blaze Jordan
Church
Grey,
your Top 3 for a pts league?
Baz CHC; KC
Boyd @Bal; @Cin
Bradley CLE; LAA
Gausman @SF; @SD
Jax NYY; SEA
Peralta @Atl; BOS
Warren @TB; @Was
Taj, Jax, Baz
How would you rank these four infielders? Gelof, Muncy (LAD), Arraez, L. Garcia?
Garcia, Muncy, Gelof
Emmitt Sheehan most disappointing pitcher of the year!!! What’s his trade value now…would you rather have Ian Seymour? Thank you!
I’d take Ian
Good morning, Grey!
Update on the trade front: have been offered Bryce Miller for Pages, but he will not throw in any more value. I already have Bauers on my bench who can be slotted in for the Pages starting spot. 10teamer so guys like Carrigg, DeLauter and Valdez are also available to pick up as needed for more bench bats.
Current staff is Ashcraft, Harrison, Tolle, Eovaldi, Detmers, Taj, Meyer, Trev Rogers.
Pull the trigger?
Thanks again and have a great week!
Current OF is Carroll, Stowers, Jordan Walker fyi. Pages or Bauers start in my U spot. Thanks again!
I’d take Miler
Dynasty league
Riley Greene or
Mike Sirota and Emmett Sheehan
Thanks!
Riley
Hey buddy since I keep seeing all the talk about Mr in-between I started watxhing it. Fun! Oh my gosh the Mets are a train wreck. The errors man I watch them when Mr Mclean pitches. Anywayyy
I appreciate the Cag wisdom, but I felt like that was some Monkey Paw like advise!!! Cags was in the lineup but was 3/19 with 1 RBI. DOH! (If you don’t remember I asked which injured bum will play this week pena or cags)
How about this week who would you start in a weekly league out of
Ohtani (obviously but he might get skipped so lose a start dang)
Mize vs Philly
or Hancock if he isn’t piggy backing? @TB
Ha, yup, it’s awesome!
Mize
Peacock Clocked Blocked my Sunday Baseballs and now they are Blue
Ha
12 team redraft h/h points .. start 5 per week
Just saying…… have one of those SP staffs this year that drives me crazy…
C Sanchez
Bradish
G Williams
Ashcraft
Sandy
Lodolo
Boyd
B Young
Hancock
May
Early IL
I don’t know their matchups
Omitted but considered:
Ward, Clift, Elizabeth, New York.
Good ol’ Monkey Ward makes a Razzball appearance. What’s next, Service Merchandise?
Actually Service Merchandise needs to be some player’s nickname. I vote for Flaherty. No reason, it just seems like it fits.
HAHA
Saturday saw a top 20 performance added to the 100 Best Fantasy Starts list; Sunday a top 10. Perez earned his first entry, while Gilbert now appears twice:
08 Eury Perez Jul 5 @ATH
16 Logan Gilbert Jul 4 vs TOR
20 Yoshinobu Yamamoto Jun 13 @CHW
41 Logan Gilbert Jun 16 vs BAL
47 Joe Ryan Jul 5 @NYY
62 Yoshinobu Yamamoto Jul 4 vs SD
76 Yoshinobu Yamamoto Jun 6 vs LAA
Excellent stuff, Vin!
Gelof, Yelich, Varsho, Carrigg, Antonocci, Stowers Busch.
All guys I own and with Gelof’s return, one has to sit. Yelich, Varsho and Busch have all been ass lately, so one of them I guess.
1) who sits (for now)?
2) For ROS, can you give me the bottom 3 (from worst to less-worse)? Looking to offer them in a trade.
TY!
Varsho — Varsho, Busch, Antonacci
The Rays celebrated July 4th with 3 Slam & Legs:
Junior Caminero 1 HR/1 SB
Jonny DeLuca 1 HR/2 SB
Richie Palacios 1 HR/1 SB
It was the first time 3 teammates accomplished the feat in the same game this season. On April 7, Curtis Mead & James Wood did it for the Nationals; May 30 Oswald Peraza & Wade Meckler of the Angels each did the power & speed thing.
Wow!
10 team NL only. Drop any of Jared Jones, Sproat, or Leahy for Reynoldo Lopez?
Sproat
Not just an Alabama city, but the Alabama capital. Home of the Rays Double-A team, the Montgomery Biscuits.
Haha, nice
Have to drop one after pulling off a stunner trade and now have 1 too many;
Burke
May
Cantillo
Lodolo
Sheehan
Rogers
King
Ginn
May
