What’s poppin, Razzpimples?!
Remember to bookmark that Razzball Bullpen Chart, y’all! I update it obsessively.
Also, if you’re a sub (you should be a sub…it’s great value), you get access to RP Projections and the super badass Relievonator Game Log tool, in addition to all the other awesome tools we have to offer. Hittertron and Streamonator, etc.
Let’s do it to it.
Note: All stats and Player Rater values are accurate through Sunday’s games.

Weekly Blown Saves Leaders :'(
Figured I’ll at least get one more of these out. You H2H folks are probably in championship week or at least semifinals week. Best of luck if you’re still alive, pardner. It’s a teeny tiny edition this time around, cuz really it’s niche content at this point in the season. By and large, you’re riding RP you’ve ridden all year. These here are deep cuts, mostly.
Porter Hodge headlines this week, mostly because he’s still pretty widely available and is the lead for rest-of-season SV for the Cubs. Lodge that man on your roster.
Tyler Kinley picked up 3 SV this past week, posting stellar ratios and really good metrics. I thought he’d do this all year…really thought he’d Finnegan-it-up for late-round value. Ah well, now’s the time at least.
Edwin Uceta still doing really nasty stuff for the Rays. Absolutely have to own that guy everywhere. He’s the real deal.
Tyler Holton has cracked the Top 20 on the 6×6 Player Rater. Tigers RP don’t excite me, though. Take him if you have to.
Ryan Walker might still be on your wire. It’s plain stupid if he is. Unreal season. He’ll get 100+ K.
Clay Holmes got demoted, you mighta heard. Boosts both Luke Weaver and Tommy Kahnle in SVHD formats (and honestly even Jake Cousins). For saves, I’d grab Weaver.
Kris Bubic is randomly turning into a nice setup man to Lucas Erceg in KC. If’n you need holds, he ain’t a bad choice.
Same goes for Drew Rasmussen in Tampa. Uceta is the top dog, but Rasmussen might be the right-hand-man at present.
Calvin Faucher landed on the IL. Jesus Tinoco is the guy you want to take his place. Something about going to a terrible team has turned him into an elite RP since taking his talents to South Beach.
Justin Slaten snuck back off the IL and I totally missed it. Maybe your leaguemates did too. He’s a solid SVHD guy these final few weeks.
Look at Matt Strahm stealing a couple SV this past week! Been a boss all season long. Dunno how many more SV are coming his way, though he should already be on every SVHD roster. If he ain’t, make it happen, cap’n.
Chad Green had himself a rough week, topping the BS+L chart you see up there. I don’t really give a hoot nor holler about any other Blue Jay.
Aroldis Chapman has also started poo pooing his pantaloons. Why does he always do this when he has a clearer path to saves? Dennis Santana is maybe the next best bet in Pittsburgh? Blah.
That’s all for this week! Thanks for reading. Leave me a comment below so I feel all warm and fuzzy.
I specialize in bullpens, and I also do some fantasy hockey as well here at Razzball. Find me on Elon’s Disaster: @jkj0787. DMs are always open for questions, comments, concerns, complaints, etc. Odds are good I’m drinking black coffee, dark beer, or some form of bourbon at any given time of day.
hey, JKJ, quick question: How you stay goated?
Simply do as I do. It’s the only way.
I am trying!
Thanks for the guidance all season long, JKJ! This weekly piece has been super useful for me as I try to eek out a H2H chip in a SV+HLD format. I took your advice and stayed the course with Bryan Abreu (the Ks have been so useful) and was quick to snag Ryan Walker. Those two are locked in for me, but I’m also currently rolling out Justin Martinez as my third bullpen arm and wonder if you have a read on him vs these remaining waiver options: Hodge, Erceg, Weaver, or Uceta. Most of the league has been eliminated, so the wire is pretty rich.
Glad to hear it! Thanks for the kind words.
Gotta be Uceta there. Dude’s the truth.
5×5 league – please rank:
Hodge
Chapman
Green
Weaver
Kinley
Tinoco
Thank you.
I’d keep that order but with Kinley over Weaver only bc his path to SV seems less obscured. Chapman converted a save last night after I had submitted this, so it seems he’s still probably the guy and has mad K upside even still.
