Do you hear the siren? Do you see me on a unicycle riding close behind it? That’s because it is time for your Razzball weekly fantasy baseball injury report! EDITOR’S NOTE: Wait…can Keelin ride a unicycle? A true renaissance woman! I wanted to pop in and mention some injuries that cropped up late Friday so […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Lucas Sims
Please see our player page for Lucas Sims to see projections for today, the next 7 days and rest of season as well as stats and gamelogs designed with the fantasy baseball player in mind.
Yesterday, Luis Garcia went 5 IP, 0 ER, 7 baserunners, 9 Ks, ERA at 2.94. Officially, Luis Garcia #1 is outpacing Luis Garcia #2 and Luis Garcia #3 by a lot. Step up your game, Luis Garcias! If I had a couple billion dollars, I’d buy a MLB team and fill the whole team with Luis Garcias. A Luis Garcia at each position. “Luis winds up and–a hot smash to third! Luis Garcia snags it, and goes to Luis Garcia at 2nd and onto Luis Garcia at first. Double play complete!” Name that team the Garcias and get LG to sponsor us. Prolly shouldn’t be putting this out there because Elon Musk is going to steal this idea.
“No more Tesla for you, Mr. Musk?”
“Sadly, this is my last day. On the bright side, I’ve got an idea to start a Luis Garcia-filled baseball team.”
Sigh, until I have that money in hand, I’m gonna have to look at Luis Garcia for fantasy baseball. This Luis Garcia’s peripherals are 9.9 K/9,2.4 BB/9, 3.55 xFIP, and his fastball velocity is up. Last time I looked at him, his stats weren’t as good, but they’ve clearly bounced back recently. His career ERA is 3.44 in 196 1/3 IP with a 9.4 K/9. Only time that’s putting me to sleep is during his rock-a-bye pitching windup. Anyway, here’s what else I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball:
Please, blog, may I have some more? The Beer from last week was pretty skunky, and for that I am sorry. On a positive note, Urshela was an ice-cold glass of multi-hit goodness. You take the good, you take the bad, those are the facts of life. Some other facts of life are:
Please, blog, may I have some more? What’s good, Razzfools? Yes, that’s me starting a second consecutive SAGNOF report with the same pun. If it ain’t broken, amirite? Here’s the best and worst of the past week (note: yesterday’s games do not factor in): Josh Hader had himself a week: 4 SV, 4 IP, 1 H, buncha zeroes, then 5 K. No […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?In November, White Sox front office contacts Eloy Jimenez to discuss his offseason conditioning, and he’s like, “Conditioning? Yeah, of course, I’m doing offseason conditioning,” then he looks in the mirror in his shower and smiles, hair filled with conditioner. Eloy Jimenez gets himself ready for each game with a very special pregame warm-up. He warms up and opens a button on his shirt. Warms up more, and opens another button. I was curious why Statcast said Eloy Jimenez’s exit velocity was “one to three weeks into each season,” but now I see what they meant. Seriously, though, what is going on?! Last year, he jumped for a home run ball that was 75 feet past his reach, and knocked himself out for months, and this weekend he strains his hamstring by running like an absolute madman through 1st base. Someone needs to pull him aside and be like, “Yo, my main man, you’re here to swing hard and hit homers. You can’t run fast, you don’t have Inspector Gadget arms to catch home runs. Just swing hard. That’s it.” I love this guy so much and he causes me so much pain. Almost as much pain as he causes himself. So, he will be out for six to eight weeks, and Tony La Russa will still find reasons to bench Andrew Vaughn! Anyway, here’s what else I saw this weekend in fantasy baseball:
Please, blog, may I have some more?Offense has been down across the league. It’s unclear if has to do with the humidor or a new baseball. Knowing MLB it’s likely a mix of both but have patience with your hitters as we don’t fully understand this new run scoring environment. As always, set your lineups first, identify needs and bid with […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? What’s good in the Razzhood? Hope the first full week of fantasy baseball action treated you well. I had mixed results. I mean, I guess odds are if you’ve got multiple teams then you probably had mixed results yourself unless you drafted carbon copy squads. Just fyi, I’m writing this before games have finished Monday […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Five ladies and gentlemen, it’s…HELIO STUDWAGON!
And I can’t fight this rookie nookie anymore,
I’ve forgotten what I started fighting for (which stinks because we’re roughly 72 hours into the season),
It’s time to bring this shizz into the shore and onto my team,
And throw away the either/or’s forever.
Baby, I can’t hold Steven Matz anymore, but how about this Heliot Ramos fella!
He looks great, or as they say in San Fran “hella,”
I need him on my team, er,
His projections are insane from Steamer!
So, Heliot Ramos (2-for-3, 1 RBI) was called up. Prospect Itch said, “Ramos didn’t graduate AA so much as he aged into AAA, where he was still 5.7 years younger than the average player. Across the full season (116 games), he slashed .254/.323/.416 with 14 HR and 15 SB. Not bad. Not ideal. The hope is that he settles in at AAA and soaks up some coaching, applies that across his opportunities and takes the slow road to becoming a fantasy factor. I doubt the club will rush him to the majors in any needs-based scenario. This is good news for Ramos and us, as it gives the 6’1” 188 lb, 2017 first-rounder time to grow into his skillset, and I’d like to hit Grey with a skillet.” Not cool. So, the Giants seemed to disagree with how much time Ramos needed in the minors. His projections at the Prospectonator are fire under a helium balloon. Some of the best projections I’ve seen for a rookie. Oh, just your mundane, ho-hum 20+ HRs and 10 steals. Will the Giants still start guys like Steven Duggar over him? Oh, absolutely. Have you not been paying attention to the Giants for the last year-plus? Still, I’d grab Heliot Ramos in all leagues where I need an injection of sexy. Anyway, here’s what else I saw this weekend in fantasy baseball:
Please, blog, may I have some more? What’s poppin’, Razzhooligans? Can you feel it? Regular season baseball will be here in 48 hours. Not long ago, I was certain we wouldn’t be playing probably at all this month. #grateful In my final preseason piece for you cool cats, I wanted to update my closer rankings since, well, a whole lot has happened […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? What’s good in the Razzhood? I’ve got another simple one for you this week. Wanted to piggyback off last week’s piece about post-lockout moves/injuries and take you through the biggest ADP gainers and losers since that ding dang lockout done got lifted. I’m using NFBC ADP data cuz they make it real nice and easy […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Greetings Razzfolks! I have temporarily escaped the Midwest to visit Grapefruit League spring training in Florida. It feels a little heinous to give you the weekly doom and gloom report from a sunny place. However, I do my best to be consistent in spite of the sun, beer, and Bo Bichette’s majestic mane. This week […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? What it do, Razzturds! Very simple concept for this week. Lots of new faces in new places, so I’ll be running y’all through the fantasy ramifications of all that. In order of NL East/Central/West then AL East/Central/West, just cuz. In addition to updating you all on transactions, I’ll touch on some injuries that have impacted […]
