2024 SVHD Leaders

Weekly Saves Leaders

Weekly Holds Leaders

Weekly Blown Saves Leaders :'(

Arizona Diamondbacks:

  • Hey, so yeah, last week when I said to add Paul Sewald back…don’t do that lol. Justin Martinez tied for the lead this week with 3 SV. Ride him into the 2024 fantasy sunset. Also ride AJ Puk into the SVHD sunset: 2 HLD and 7 K this week with stellar metrics.

Atlanta Braves:

  • Pretty much only care about Raisel Iglesias at this point, who feels like he somehow has been quiet all year but has also put up a seriously bussin’ season.

Baltimore Orioles:

  • Seranthony Dominguez earned headline status this week. Not exactly due to his performance, just more so due to the fact he might still be on your wire and is clearly the guy now in Baltimore.

Boston Red Sox:

  • Chris Martin had 1 SV and 1 HLD, with 4 K and 0 ER/BB. I’m pretty concerned by all the hits he’s allowing, but gotta love his BB/9 still.

Chicago Cubs:

  • Boy howdy, this pen done took a turn. Liked what they had going on heading into the season, and here we are heading into September with only Porter Hodge on my radar.

Chicago White Sox:

  • Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no thanks.

Cincinnati Reds:

  • Woof. Next. Seriously just drop any Red you still have for any other hot hand at this point.

Cleveland Guardians:

  • Reckon you know that Clase, Gaddis, and Smith are the only the Guards worth a damn.

Colorado Rockies:

  • Victor Vodnik has hit the IL, and it’s been Angel Chivilli with the only Rockies SV since. Tyler Kinley might be worth a little bit of a darn in SVHD formats, but I don’t know that I can recommend anyone for SV-only at the present moment.

Detroit Tigers:

  • Said last week I don’t care about anyone here. Still holds true. In a very deep SVHD format, I guess I’d pick Tyler Holton.

Houston Astros:

  • Hader and Abreu are my ride or dies.

Kansas City Royals:

  • Lucas Erceg still the only Royal worth a ding dang darn..

Los Angeles Angels:

  • Ben Joyce had another pretty solid week: 1 SV, 3 K, and 23.1 SwStr%.

Los Angeles Dodgers:

  • Super fun that I finally pump some Michael Kopech tires only to see three other Dodgers get a SV in the following week lmaoooo. Evan Phillips, Anthony Banda, and Daniel Hudson all collected 1 SV, while Kopech had 1 W and 1 HLD. Banda had some yummy metrics, for what it’s worth. Still want Kopech the most of these guys.

Miami Marlins:

  • Barf. Avoid if you can.

Milwaukee Brewers:

  • Devin Williams had some serious control issues this week. Probably gets back on track this week, which probably means he in fact does not.

Minnesota Twins:

  • Griffin Jax had no decisions but was bad son of a gun nonetheless. That guy is a bona fide stud. Jhoan Duran earned a BS+L against my Cardinals, which opened the door for Helsley’s 40th SV. Love to see it.

New York Mets:

  • Dedniel Nunez is back: 1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, 32.1 SwStr%, 46.4 CSW%. Add in all SVHD formats.

New York Yankees:

  • Clay Holmes 1 SV, 4 K, 0 ER. The Yanks believe in this guy so hard, which makes his fantasy stock nice n steady. Weaver and Kahnle each had 1 HLD.

Oakland A’s:

  • Mason Miller busted out a 3-SV week, striking out 4. Do you care that Holman/Ferguson each had 3 HLD? Not sure I do.

Philadelphia Phillies:

  • Carlos Estevez had 1 SV and 0 K lol. Matt Strahm and Orion Kerkering each had 1 HLD, while Strahm also added a win.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

  • Aroldis Chapman was a sizzlin skillet full of bubbly popping bacon grease: 1 W, 2 HLD, -0.08 FIP, 0 ER, 8 K, 24.6 SwStr%, 43.9 CSW%. Sometimes he’s so good you forget that he’s ever been bad.

San Diego Padres:

  • Robert Suarez was solid, Jason Adam was great, and Tanner Scott was decent.

Seattle Mariners:

  • Yimi Garcia probably completely worthless ROS now that he’s on the IL. Collin Snider of all people is fantasy relevant again, earning 1 W and 1 HLD this week, striking out 7. Is my bullpen nerd ass the only one who remembers when he was kinda hot shit (in a good way) for like a month with the Royals a couple years ago? Looking back at his numbers, they’re so much worse than I would have thought, but 2024 has been kind to him so far.

San Francisco Giants:

  • Boyyyyyyyyyy howdy. Ryan Walker went Super Saiyan on some fools this week. 10 K! That hardly ever happens in a 7-day span for a reliever. Did it while allowing just 1 H and 0 BB. Why even entertain the idea of reinstating Doval when Walker is going Goku on everyone?

St. Louis Cardinals:

  • Ryan Helsley got his 40th SV. Love you, daddy.

Tampa Bay Rays:

  • In typical Rays fashion, there were 3 SV by three different pitchers this week: Garrett Cleavinger, Manuel Rodriguez, and Edwin Uceta. Uceta is clearly the best pitcher in that pen right now, though. Ain’t even close.

Texas Rangers:

  • I’m so proud of this line I’m gonna use it again this week: Y’all know which two walkers to Texas Ranger.

Toronto Blue Jays:

  • Chad Green had 1 W and 1 SV. Pitched very well overall.

Washington Nationals:

  • Kyle Finnegan had 1 SV kept your ratios healthy for a change.

That’s all for this week! Thanks for reading. Leave me a comment below so I feel all warm and fuzzy.

Jake Cousins (NYY) with 3 Holds in the last 7 days and nice(ish) ratios along with a couple of 8th-inning looks – anything to see here?

What about Koenig for Mil. Is he now in the s+h mix? He got a few last week and was consistently deployed late in games. He is also sp eligible. That’s big in s+h roto with daily lineups. Would you rather have him or holton? Thanks

Great work as usual, I follow these articles closely and they’ve been very helpful.

How do you rank these options over the next 2 weeks of my league’s playoffs? Format is 12T, H2H, points. +1 k, -1 bb/hbp, +4 S, -2 BS, -3 L, +1.5 per IP. No points for holds.

D. Williams: (week one) 3 v STL, 3 v COL (week two) 3 @ SF, 3 @ ARI
S. Dominguez: (week one) 3 v CHW, 3 v TB, (week two) 3 @ BOS, 3 @ DET
J. Martinez: (week one) 1 v LAD, 3 @ SF, 3 @ HOU, (week two) 2 v TEX, 3 v MIL
B. Joyce: (week one) 2 v LAD, 4 @ TEX, (week two) 3 @ MIN, 3 v HOU
