Andrew Vaughn (3-for-4, 2 runs, 6 RBIs and his 10th homer) left the White Sox and he’s like a newly divorced man of 60 who has given up on love, when he wanders into a brewery, meets a large-headed Brewer named Bernie and remembers what it was about baseball that he once loved. He smiles again, and it’s like it’s for the first time. Sometimes, Vaughn smiles and it hurts his cheeks, it’s been so long. Occasionally, Vaughn will find himself skipping, humming, “I love a parade.” Who is this man, he wonders, as he catches a glimpse of himself smiling in the mirror. A man who looks 45 years his senior from his long, hard years on the White Sox. The Brewers’ Vaughn has been obscene: .375 average, 5 HRs, 21 RBIs, 1.210 OPS in 15 games. Silly. But that’s what love will do. Anyway, here’s what else I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball:
Jackson Chourio – 2-for-3, 1 run, but pulled up lame on a triple. No! No! No! Ja-Chou! Sadly, “God bless you.”
Quinn Priester – 5 2/3 IP, 2 ER, 10 baserunners, 3 Ks, ERA at 3.27. Brewers could turn Sonny Gray into Always Sonny.
Nico Hoerner – 3-for-4 and his 4th homer, hitting .293. That’s making me Hoernery, baby, yay!
Ian Happ – Hit the IL after fouling a ball off his shin. Too bad, so sad. Being called up in his place will be Moises Ballesteros, who is the Cubs’ Moises who doesn’t urinate on himself. Moises’ Triple-A stats look awesome (9/4/.331 in 85 games), but prolly only interesting in NL-Only leagues, or two -catcher leagues, if he has catcher eligibility.
Alex Freeland – Called up by the Dodgers. Stop me if you’ve heard this before: Dodgers’ top–Okay, stopped. We’re to believe every Dodgers’ prospect is excellent or the Dodgers are paying scouts money under the table to say their prospects are great, so they could trade them. This is the one conspiracy theory I believe. This is my Qanon. Call it DrivelineAnon. In Triple-A, Freeland went 12/17/.253 with a 22.1% strikeout rate, which makes me think he’s gonna hit .210 with some speed and power that won’t translate to the majors. But he’s considered a top prospect! Right, so the Pirates trade for him with Bednar! I know this trick! I am prospect-pilled!
Tommy Edman – 1-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 12th homer. Thought he was going to the IL and that was why Freeland was called up. Now I think Freeland was called up simply to pretend to other teams he’s MLB-ready for a trade. Sounds better if, say, the Pirates are like, “We just traded for a Dodgers’ top prospect who was just called up.” Maybe, I don’t know.
Alex Vesia – 1 IP, 0 ER, ERA at 2.42, and his 4th save. Not a bad grab if he’s getting saves, but I’d be shocked if he is by Friday.
Nick Lodolo – 5 1/3 IP, 2 ER, 7 baserunners, 11 Ks, ERA at 3.09. Just gave you my Nick Lodolo fantasy. I am a freaky-ass fan. This start was vs. Tyler Glasnow – 4 IP, 3 ER, ERA at 3.15, and Lodolo looked like Glasnow, but didn’t look like Cillian Murphy. Weird!
Jake Fraley – 1-for-1, 2 RBIs and his 6th homer. Also, in this game, Noelvi Marte (1-for-3) hit his 7th homer. Better to be with a Fraley/Marte than a Fradey cat! Bam! High five! No? You’re absolutely right, that was awful. Fraley was actually a guy I grabbed this past weekend, because of the Hitter-Tron. (Then benched him, lol, sonavabench!)
Troy Johnston – 1-for-2, 1 run as he was called up by the Marlins. This rather innocuous bit of news sent me on a wild goose chase around the internet reading about former minority owner and Yankee, Derek Jeter; former Marlins President and Survivor David Samson; former GM Kim Ng, and owner, Bruce Sherman. I’ve convinced myself that Sherman needs to go. He can’t afford a team; he shouldn’t have been allowed to purchase it. Though, no one I mentioned here is without fault. Any hoo! Troy Johnston, who sounds like he hangs with Troy McClure, was called up to DH, so Liam Hicks can strictly back up Agustin, because Nick Fortes was traded. Johnston had a line of 12/31/.252 in 84 games with a 19.2% strikeout rate, and that reminds me of Freeland. That is some weak-sister contact but has speed for NL-Only. Whatever happened to Deyvison De Los Santos? The people clamor for info.
Sandy Alcantara – 5 IP, 0 ER, 6 baserunners, 4 Ks, ERA at 6.36. Now he suddenly wants off the Marlins!
Sonny Gray – 5 IP, 3 ER, 9 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 4.38. At home vs. the Marlins, and that’s what you do? You’re embarrassing Grey/ays everywhere!
Byron Buxton – Hit the IL with “It truly is amazing he lasted this long into the season. For once, celebrate the positives.” Seems likely to miss around two weeks.
Brandon Pfaadt – 4 2/3 IP, 7 ER, ERA at 5.11. Pfaadt boy is back! And you know he’s always gonna be whack!
Riley Greene -3-for-5, 3 runs, 3 RBIs and his 26th homer. Also, in this game, Zach McKinstry (2-for-5, 4 RBIs) hit his 9th homer and Gleyber Torres (2-for-5) hit his 11th homer. Somebody loves them some Pfaadt meatballs!
Casey Mize – 1 2/3 IP, 1 ER, ERA at 3.43. Hinch pulled him fast (well, after 59 pitches) when Mize clearly didn’t have his best stuff. Good for those of you that started him. Better that than a blowup, but now that’s four straight terrible starts, and he clearly has a dead arm.
Rich Hill – Designated for assignment. Sad news, but more time for Matlock.
Vinnie Pasquantino – 3-for-5, 2 RBIs and his 18th homer. He’s gonna end with 25-28 homers and, I gotta say, as someone who rostered him all year, he’s pretty effin’ boring. The Italian thing is fun, but I’m not rostering him because he knows good from bad chicken parm. That’s not even a thing! All chicken parm is good!
Erick Fedde – 4 2/3 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 5.33 as he started for the Braves for the first time. Touki Fedde, you are not.
Ronald Acuña Jr. – Hit the IL with an Achilles injury, and will go for an MRI today. I have tightness in my chest. I need to sit down. Please don’t be a serious injury. I’m trying to amass joy in my life, not lose it!
Marcell Ozuna – 2-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 15th homer, and 2nd homer in two games. Reminds me of what they say about why prospects in the Dominican swing at everything. If you want off the island, you have to hit your way. If Ozuna wants off the Braves? Gotta start hitting!
Austin Riley – 1-for-5 and his 16th homer, and 2nd homer in two games. Well, I don’t know if he can hit his way off the Braves. He could hit his way into the top 100 of 2026 drafts though.
Michael Harris II – 3-for-5, 1 run. Been meaning to say this, but Harris changed his swing and looks way better of late, if you can buy him.
Trevor Story – 2-for-5, 2 runs, 3 RBIs and his 16th homer. I walk into the ocean, muttering, “I could’ve drafted Story instead of Gunnar.”
Jarren Duran – 2-for-4 and a slam (10) and legs (18). Can I be honest with you? Oh well, I will anyway. Red Sox are idiots if they trade Duran. They keep developing great bats and trading them away. It’s very dumb.
Lucas Giolito – 6 IP, 1 ER, 7 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 3.80. After two straight stinkers, this start had me worried, but Giolito set things back to right. “Set things back to right” sounds like Matchbox Twenty lyrics. I am so sorry.
Aroldis Chapman – 1/3 IP, 0 ER, ERA at 1.29, as he got the save. So, that whole is it or is it not Jordan Hicks thing? Yeah, it’s over.
Brooks Lee – 3-for-4, 5 RBIs and his 9th and 10th homer. He had a big hit on Monday and big game on Tuesday. Hot schmotato alert!
Kyle Schwarber – 2-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 37th homer. General Schwarbomber, at your service, protecting God, country and leads!
Jesus Luzardo – 7 IP, 0 ER, 2 hits, 1 walk, 4 Ks, ERA at 4.31. This could’ve been a 3 IP, 7 ER start or what he did. There’s no way of knowing.
Brandon Marsh – 2-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and his 4th homer. I’d bet someone — no, not you Clase! — that Marsh hits 10-14 homers this year. So, he’s got six to ten in his bat.
Lenyn Sosa – 2-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 10th homer. If Lenyn gets more homers than Gunnar this year, I cannot be held liable for what I might do.
Sean Manaea – 5 IP, 1 ER, 3 hits, zero walks, 4 Ks, ERA at 2.08. He reminds me of Seth Lugo, in that people constantly underrate him. Rate him or give him to me!
Juan Soto – Left the game after fouling a ball off his foot. Quickly, join hands into a prayer hexagon.
Manny Machado – 1-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 20th homer, hitting .301. Macho, Macho Machado!
Liover Peguero – 1-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 1st homer, as he plays shortstop for the Pirates. You’ll never be Adam Frazier, they say in the Pirates’ front office, as they’re completely divorced from reality and somehow go out and acquire Adam Frazier every year. Liover Peguero has solid power, speed and makes good contact (5/8, 19.8% K% in 72 Triple-A games), and can’t seem to get an everyday playing job in Pittsburgh. Maybe he does now, and I’d look at him in NL-Only leagues.
Bailey Falter – 5 IP, 1 ER, 6 baserunners, 1 K, ERA at 3.73 vs. Justin Verlander – 5 IP, 1 ER, 7 baserunners, 7 Ks, ERA at 4.53. Verlander should’ve had in his contract, “If you’re worse than Bailey Falter by the end of July, you’ll retire.”
Willy Adames – 1-for-3 and his 16th homer. That’s a big fly for Willy. Hey now!
Luis Garcia Jr. – 2-for-5, 2 RBIs and his 9th homer. In the box score, I’m looking at Garcia, but I’m only seeing CJ Abrams with three more steals (24, 25, 26).
Yainer Diaz – 3-for-4, 2 runs, and his 14th homer, hitting .249. Yainer’s gonna end the year with 20 homers, and I’m gonna shrug when people ask me why people wanted to drop him.
Jacob Wilson – Hit the IL with a fractured forearm. Wonder how many times in the past one ROY candidate went down to make his teammate the new, presumptive ROY favorite.
Brent Rooker – 1-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 22nd homer, hitting .272. That’s his 1st homer of the 2nd half because he’s a bum! I’m kidding. Technically, the A’s are unhoused.
Shea Langeliers – 2-for-4, 2 runs and his 18th homer, and four homers in five games. I was at the Statcast Park Factors the other day looking at T-Mobile for Naylor and I noticed Bing Bong Stadium isn’t actually as goofy as I thought. Sure. it’s a little goofy, but Dodger Stadium is actually the best park for power. Though, Bing Bong is 2nd for runs, behind Coors.
Kyle Higashioka – 3-for-4, 3 runs and his 5th and 6th homer. The two-homer night for the guy rostered in .1% of leagues. Noice!
Joe Boyle – 3 1/3 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 2.82. Pressed my luck a bit and got a dancing Whammy that was extra spiteful. Shouldn’t have started him in Yankee Stadium, and I’m holding for another start; Streamonator is even a little positive on his next one, but it’s not easy either.
Jonathan Aranda – 2-for-5, 2 runs and his 12th homer. Okay, but his home run came in that goofy stadium the Yankees play in.
Anthony Volpe – 2-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and a slam (15) and legs (12). He’s going to get the world’s worst 20/20 season, isn’t he? With apologies to Krispie Young.
Cody Bellinger – 1-for-3, 3 RBIs and his 20th homer. Also, in this game, Jasson Dominguez (2-for-4, 1 run, 16th steal), Volpe and Austin Wells (0-for-3, 2 runs, 4th and 5th steal) stole bags, which is legit hilarious since the Rays were starting their new catcher, Nick Fortes. But, hey, Fortes is cheaper and a good framer! (So call Aaron Brothers.)
Max Fried – 6 2/3 IP, 2 ER, 6 baserunners, 9 Ks, ERA at 2.62. After four straight iffy starts, it’s nice to see him get on track, because he’s my favorite player, obviously. Big Fried fan. I call donuts Fried dough, and people are like, “Freed dough? What’s that mean?”
Kyle Manzardo – 3-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 17th and 18th homer. Guardians’ bullpen seemed to be extra jubilant when the second homer landed screaming, “Over! Over!” They must’ve meant over the fence.
Logan Allen – 7 IP, 2 ER, 9 baserunners, 3 Ks, ERA at 4.06. Excellent start, but it was a Streamonator special as it was vs. the Rockies.
Michael Toglia – 1-for-4 and his 11th homer. Also, in this game, Jordan Beck (1-for-3) hit his 12th homer, and Kyle Farmer (1-for-4) hit his 5th homer. While no homer, Warming Bernabel (2-for-4) had two hits. Do I just love the Warming Bernabel name? Yes, I do.
Tyler O’Neill – 2-for-7, 4 RBIs and his 7th homer, and 4th homer in four games. What if he never stopped homering? Would that be something that interested you?
Ramon Urias – 4-for-8, 2 runs, 4 RBIs and his 7th and 8th homer. Kinda puts Tyler O’Neill’s season in perspective when Ramon Urias has more homers. Granted, it’s in almost twice as many at-bats.
Gunnar Henderson – 4-for-8, 4 runs, 4 RBIs and his 12th homer. [places handkerchief to forehead] A homer? Imma sorry, but I’m feeling like Imma faint. Please dial my emergency contact. Yes, it’s Yankee Stadium’s number, ask for Giancarlo.
Charlie Morton – 6 IP, 3 ER, 11 baserunners, 2 Ks, ERA at 5.42, but season-long ERA is misleading. He was excellent for the last two months, minus two starts ago. Streamonator even kinda likes his next one, but that might change if he’s traded, which he should be.
Joey Loperfido – 3-for-4 and his 3rd homer, 2nd homer in a week and, brucely, I’m not sure the Jays can do anything wrong right now. (Yes, I know they were swept yesterday, but I’m talking big picture.)
Addison Barger – 3-for-8, 2 RBIs and his 15th homer. He has six homers in July, while hitting near-.290. That’s a top 10 outfielder month.
Seranthony Dominguez – Traded to the Jays. When asked who would close for the Orioles, the front office said that starting today, they’re done winning games this year. Though, if you’re desperate, I’d go Yennier Cano. Yesterday, Corbin Martin (1 IP, 0 ER, ERA at 1.23) got the first post-Seranthony save, but Cano had thrown in the 1st game. Though, Corbin’s save had a degree of difficulty, and, with that degree, Corbin Martin graduates! Corbin Martin graduates! On a side note, yes, I am pissed off that O’s didn’t use Seranthony Dominguez in Game 1, so then he could’ve pitched for the Jays in Game 2 for the ever-elusive Joel Youngblood. As the summer heat begins to drag into the so-called dog days of summer, the people long for one thing and one thing only. No, not a refreshening cocktail. No, not even a mojito. The people long for another Joel Youngblood.
Who would you rather have for saves
Jax
Maton
Cano
Corbin Martin
Louie Varland
Jax
Everybody assumes Jax but I think Cole Sands could be in the mix too.
Yeah could be
Helsley rumored to be going to the Mets…wow! Super-Pen with Diaz, Rogers and Helsley. Two potential closers just lost massive value in our game.
Two?
Yeah – my bad – Rogers hasn’t really saved much since 2021.
Yeah
10 team 5×5 h2h
C- Herrera
1B- V Guerrero Jr
2B- Turang
3B- Caminero
SS- Elly
OF (x4)- Wood, Langford, Barger, Butler
UT (x2) – Neto, Riley
BEN- Seager
IL- Y Alvarez
My OF are riding on Barger’s recent success and Butler is really testing my resolve. Ozuna, Harris available. Would you make any swaps or hold?
Hold
(1) I assume Duran’s value increases in Philly. Or does the Philly RP curse override logic?
(2) Jax or Palencia (note: Hodge now nearing MLB readiness)?
1. Ha, Duran value increases 2. Jax
Drop Lugo,Misi,Eury or Shota for Lauer or hold?
Hold
Points league. ROS
Eugenio or Caminero?
Eugenio
Not saying he is back, but Darvish finally showed up today. Here’s a thought. Maybe he would have been better if he went on a rehab assignment instead of doing it when the games count.
Ha, yup, seriously
Util. Barger or Michael Harris II (III?)?
Harris
Hey Grey, your advice please. 12 team save/hold-SP or RP need the best available: Sabrowski, Uceta, Kahnale or Melton? Thanks Man
Melton or Uceta is apples oranges
Vaughn showing enough to replace Freddie Freeman as my 1B in a 12 team dynasty using OBP and SLG instead of AVG?
Nah
Howdy Grey! The image of Rich Hill watching Matlock is priceless.
So in our Yahoo 12 Team H2H with OPS and Holds, I am stupidly holding onto the following pitchers on my Bench and 2 IL Spots:
Taj Bradley
Bryce Miller
Christian Javier
Brandon Walter
Shane McClanahan
Michael King
Can I lose any and all (or most) of these guys? King is really the only one I cared about, as he was my #1 – HA! I just lost Acuna, and my season is probably ending soon anyway, but wanted to ask.
Thanks much Grey.
They’re all droppable except King
Yeah, I figured as much. Thanks Grey.
No problem
Happ becomes the first player to homer while on the IL!
ha
No – that was Edman the previous day.
Just going off what teams say, can’t help it if guys change their minds.
Grey.
Not criticizng you. Just noting how one can’t trust what teams say.
Yup
I assume you agree Ragans is just a luxury IL stash for redraft 12 teamer? If you have a roster crunch you’d feel alright about cutting bait?
Yep
Baldelli showing his acute baseball acumen by showcasing Jax as trade bait and bringing him into a useless 8-1 drubbing only to get lit up like a Christmas tree. Rocket science and brain surgery is not Rocco’s field of expertise
Some may say rocket science and brain surgery represent things that are difficult. haha But I catch your drift.
Brilliance!
Best IL stash for playoffs in 3 1/2 weeks: Nola, Arrighetti, S Smith
6×6 with K/BB and QS+W
None? Nola
I only have room for 2 of these 3 in my 12 team points league: Paddack, Zebby, Melton
Melton, Zebby
Heliot or Frelick ROS? I should add I just lost Buxton and Acuna for a minute.
Heliot
1B ROS: Vinnie P; Burleson; or Busch.
Busch
14 team redraft, I have huge lead in saves and am desperate for OF production esp. power (and that was before Acuna got hurt). Who should I get for Suarez- Heliot, Adolis, or Gurriel? (either trade is waiting until Friday to make sure Suarez doesnt get traded in life)
Ranger? Heliot
Robert
The Angels are buyers? Did I miss something?
because they got two journeymen relievers? I don’t know, RICE
I’m all for it. If they got Ozuna and an SP upgrade I’d be happy they did. Might as well try since they could get lucky and get into the third slot. Might as well. It’s not like the future looks promising, so why not be in for 2025?
If the price is reasonable of course.
The price was cheap enough
ROS – Busch or Josh Naylor?
Naylor
Hey Grey, thanks again for all you do!
In a 5×5 roto, just had Buxton drop to IL. Still have Tucker, Soto, Suzuki, Greene, Burleson, and Ramos to rotate through 4 OF and 1 Util spot, so have flexibility to pick up a non-OF in a shallow league.
OF options: Jesus Sanchez, Beck, Mullins, Vic Scott 2 (already leading in steals), Collins, Bader, Benintendi, Tauchman
Non-OF: Tork, Caratini, Royce Lewis
P: Trev Rogers, Morejon, Holton
Needs: Pitching ratios, HRs
Any clear best path you can see?
Rogers or Beck for his homestand
Yainer Diaz or William Contreras and is it close?
Oh god, accidental bold. Sorry about that! Don’t mean to yell.
Haha, No problem
Contreras, close I guess
In a 10 team league with QS instead of Wins, is Kershaw worth holding on to? Same question about Casey Mize.
No and no
@Grey: 12 team weekly roto redraft with one IL spot. Any hope of sasaki providing any value down the stretch or ok to drop if I need the spot for Acuna (thoughts and prayers).
You can drop Roki
hi grey. nasty nestor, cantillo, lord, melton. which 2 of these 4 ?
on the hitting side who between jesus sanchez, lenyn sosa or bernable ?
Melton, Cantillo
Warming
Josh Lowe or Vaughn? Lowe’s value is low, not sure it can be lower. He did finally have hits in back to back games with a run, rbi and a steal. That doesn’t sound like much but he has not done anything for a while. Is he finally waking up?
Vaughn
Who to drop to bring Riley off the IL?
Luis Garcia, Torkleson, Austin Hays, XEdwards, XBogaerts, or a pitcher: Ed-Cab, Pepiot, Zebby, Giolito or Flaherty…
Also – drop anyone for Andrew Vaughn?
Thanks Grey
Xander

Not sure if ‘s too late for another question about Sandy Alcantara.
I’m trying to assess whether he’s worth a flyer based on his last three starts, during which he’s posted a 2.00 ERA, but a 14.3 K%, 3.87 FIP, 4.48 FIP and 82.5% LOB. Whether I might drop Rasmussen for him.
I’ve got a stranglehold on the K category–looking mostly for ratios. So far out in front, I’m thinking of shorting my league’s 1,250 IP limit and stocking up on middle relief.
With Sandy and ratios, am I correct in thinking that in his last 3, he’s benefitted mostly from batted ball luck, and that he’s still a bit of a wait and see?
I am not rushing out to add Sandy in 12 teamers
Thank you, sir
No problem
Imanaga@Milw or Ray@Mets. Thanks
Ray
Looking to add some Avg/Steals/Runs
Would you move Austin Riley/Burleson for Barger/Freeman ?
No
In a points league where efficiency matters, would you trade away two more years of Bubic at $1, for two months if Devin Williams and two years of Bryan Abreu at $1?
Current bullpen: Detmers, Ashby, DL Hall, Raisel, Varland, and Speirer. I can move both Detmers and Varland into SP slots.
The thinking is getting players that can get me anywhere from 8-16 points per inning (if they are tidy and gets saves or holds).
I just hate giving up on Bubic who was outstanding this year and who should be just as good in 2026, right?
I’d take Devin if it helped me win this year…no idea if Bubic will be healthy next year
Singer home vs Atlanta or
Gavin Williams home vs Minny?
Williams
20 team 5×5 H2H keeper league. 50IP each week to qualify for ERA & WHIP. Would you be looking to buy low on Betts?
A. Robbie Ray, Zac Gallen
B. Mookie Betts
My bats: Freeman, Judge, Lindor, Stott, Burleson, Wallner, Judge (IL)
SP: Gallen, Ray, Nick Martinez, Gore, Wheeler, Chris Sanchez, Elder, Schlitter
I’d take Betts there
Thanks
No problem
Hey Grey,
A. Bello @MIN or EdCab vs NYY
B. Since Busch has been in the lead off spot part time, he’s gone cold, with only 5 points over the last two weeks. Would you hold or swap him for someone like Harris, Muncy (LAD), Vaughn, or Friedl?
C. I also have Wood burning a hole on my team with -2 points over the last two weeks. I have to hold, right? He is a potential keeper, but I also have to take advantage of the solid chance to win now. Adding to the dilemma, I also have Yordan potentially coming back soon and will need to make some room….
A. EdCab B. Harris C. hold
Thanks! After Harris, would you take anyone else over Busch in case I can’t nab Harris?
Vaughn
Going to see if I can swing a trade for Mason Miller for my Busch or Stowers. Trade Analyzer has Miller side winning out by a lot. What do you think?
Sounds fair
Lauer or M.Kelly ros?
Lauer
On Ian Happ…did he hit the IL? Because I would love to pick someone up in my RCL I have him in. To replace Bregman because he’s playing hurt…I’m coming for that #1 Spot(Luda voice). Either that or the trade deadline will dead me like it did last year…
Happ will be IL’d likely right before the Cubs game
Cubs just announced he’s not going on IL, so yay?
PerHapps
Haha
Hey Grey – I’ve been offered Julio Rodriguez and Willi Castro for my FreddyKBB and Trevor Megill. 6×6 (OPS + QS) 10 team league. I’m in 3rd place and just lost Acuna and it seems Hunter Greene may be back soon. Would you take Julio?
C – Herrera
1B – Alonso
2B – Turang
3B – Lewis
SS – Lindor
OF – Bellinger, Robert, Barger
Util – Abrams, Vinnie P
IL – Acuna, Yordan
SP – Eovaldi, Gausman, FreddyKBB, Gray, Abbott, Flaherty
RP – Miller, Jansen, Megill, Strahm
IL – Greene, Ragans
I’d take JRod
thanks Grey!
No problem
Would you trade Alex Bregman and Drew Rasmussen for Mookie Betts?
5×5 OBP H2H
Yes, assuming Bregman isn’t hurt (he’s not playing today)
The plan was always to sit him 1x in each series until he’s fully OK. So this is the day (he played Mon, Tue).
Gotcha
Deep league replacing acuna.
Lee, mayo, Sosa, or Mauricio?
Ronny
Manzardo there too
Vaughn or Pasquantino ROS?
Vinnie
SerAnthony Dominguez
Orioles Closer
7/28/2025 – 7/29/2025
Hell of a run
Good stuff!
At times, he was dominant.
Haha
move vaughn dot org!
barger and top ramen larryano carrying my rcl
the gooner blurb reminded me that the funniest itemmof furniture has to be the fainting couch
Haha
Hahaha, I have no one carrying my RCL team, hence why it sucks
doot-dood-a-loo Pfaadt boy!
HA
“Freed dough? What’s that mean?” is the ultimate tell that someone never ate at the Congressional cafeteria circa 2003-2005. The D.C. Madam would’ve spotted it a mile away.
Haha
Hi Grey
I need a second baseman and was looking to pick up Ceddanne Rafaela.
1. was thinking of offering Jo Adell plus Gavin Williams. I have Ramon Laureano in CF while Buxton is on IL. In LF I have Yelich and Wilymer Abreu.
2. Another option is to offer Jeremy Pena who is on IL plus Gavin Williams.
Which option would you try?
3. If neither works, would you go after Luis Arraez?
4. As a backup, would you rather have Adell or Addison Barger?
Thanks!!
I’m over my SP starts limit so far. So I can sit a pitcher for a bad matchup.
That being said would you rather have Lauer or Baz ROS?
Lauer
I recently added Lauer. Didn’t throw him yesterday, and his next two are @COL and @LAD. I might still hold him but I could see going another route short-term.
Happy Share a Hug Day.. and BOY could I use one!
1st I lose Judge, then Bubic/ Reese, and now Acuna. Why can’t we have nice things??
Ok, deep breaths… I need help with a bat that can provide me ~50% of what Acuna did. who you like best (6×6 OBP):
Also, in another league (similar losses), I could use some pitching help. you adding any of these guys?
Thanks as always!
Oh man! Damn…Ozuna
Warren sounds fine today
Thank you & Dangit, dumb work meetings delayed me from adding Ozuna and someone else added him (I bet it was that stupid sexy Flanders!)
Who’d be your #2 bat from the above list after Ozuna?
thanks again!
Priorities! I’d try O’Neill
I have Kerry Carp sitting on my IL, would you drop either of these players to activate him?:
Austin Hays
Luis Garcia Jr
Also can drop Brett Baty, but not sure if I should drop when I only will have Ernie clement, Austin Riley, and Willi Castro for the 3 1B or 3B positions I need filled. So he would be my only backup unless you think I wouldn’t need baty
Because all three of those guys are normally everyday starters
You can lose Baty
Thanks !
No problem

“ Pfaadt boy is back! And you know he’s always gonna be whack!”
“…Do you lie to the Pfaadt boyyyyyyy????”
And now, since I figured I’d have that song in my head all day anyway, I went to look at the lyrics.
Eat some beans and very soon
Everybody in the place will leave the room
That sounds like exactly what’s going to happen in every head office when Arizona’s GM starts calling teams to shop the Pfaadt boy today and tomorrow.
Ugh.
Hahaha, a classic jam!
HI Grey,
Good morning.
h2h, 12 team with OBP, keeper league
Currently in 1st place, and trying to have the best team possible for the playoffs.
My 3rd OF is Heliot Ramos.
Would you recommend trading Ramos for Teoscar Hernandez and a mid pick next year?
the other team is just looking for picks.
separate question in case the trade doesn’t go trough… do you like more Ramos or Brandon Lowe. thanks!
Thanks,
Chris
Forgot to add…. apart from Teoscar, other options from other teams to trade for are: Nimmo, Arozarena, and Soderstorm. Which one you like better or simply stick with Ramos?
Randy
I’d take Teoscar — Ramos
Hey There,
14 team, 5×5 mixed roto.
For next year: Hunter Brown or Nick Lodolo? Is it even close?
Agree about chicken parm. It’s on my mount Rushmore of death row last dinners.
Brown, it’s close — you can’t go wrong! sorry you went on that killing spree, but you have excellent taste in meals
Thanks…I killed my Hydrangea’s this year, it’s awful.
Oh man
Rank the top two out of
Vientos, Josh Jung, Luis Garcia jr, warming and brooks lee
Vientos, Jung
Drop Shaw or Boyle for Vaughn? Position doesn’t matter. 10t cats
Shaw
Hi, I’m Troy Johnston. You may remember me from such films as Statcast: More Than A Quick Fix For A Broken Arm and High Flies, Pop Ups and Worm Burners: Your Guide to Teen Drug Slang.
HAHA
How will the Cubbies ever replace the production of Ian Crapp
Not since Al Czervik broke his arm at Bushwood CC has someone lamed out of a contest in such fashion…fouled a ball off his shin and he got lightheaded?!?
Good call Hoyer releasing Schwarber and giving this schmohawk a nontrade, moron
Ballesteros & Caissie are much more deserving of ABs, although Hoyer will probably idiotically give away Caissie
Rumor has it Ricketts made the push for the Happ extension. I believe in one conspiracy theory…that the rest of the league voted Ian Happ for gold gloves because they knew Ricketts was in love with him and would overpay for .240, 18 home run seasons if he could make the argument to his management team that they’re paying for the defense.
Haha
Hahaha
Looking at Warming Bernabel, he reminds me of a guy who was okay in the minors, but will succeed in the majors.
He has a good batting eye, doesn’t strikeout, but the power never truly developed. This year only 8 homers, but with Coors and a good batting eye, a future 25 homer guy if he sticks long term can be easily see.
Looking at some of his grading he’s been grated a 55 for power in most places. Might be more than an Eye of Sauron soon.
Warming Bernabel is his spy name for when he is relegated to the KBO in two years, and then finds his way into North Korea on a CIA mission, but gets caught, thrown in prison, and tortured under the guise of “stealing a poster.”
HA
I like that one.
Could be, I like him
Lost Bubic, Acuna, Buxton, and probably Chourio in the bat of an eye. Save me Ramon Laureano, you’re my only hope
Haha
Abrams ($1) and J. Made ($1) for Mookie ($32) and Jazz ($8) in OPS dynasty?
CJ side, it’s fair, I guess
What about CJ and Hunter Brown for mookie and Jazz?
CJ, it’s fair
It’s Andrew Vaughn’s world and we’re all just living in it.
The ChiSux just suck. I am eyeing players they are going to trade. Something is just wrong with the development.
Even on the Sux, his statcast was good and was unlucky. Just a hobo run organization.
True!
Ragans for Pages in a dynasty/keeper
Turn the Pages? Ragans shoulderable?
Works for me
Not that it should matter but Sonny hasn’t had one decent start since his 89 pitch CGSO. At least he fought back last night, I was expecting a complete blow up after the 1st inning.
I imagine someone said he might be traded to the Yanks and he’s doing all he can to stop it
All he has to do is say, “No, thanks.” He has a no-trade clause. Plus he’s owed $35 million next year.
Haha, I know, I was kidding
ah, sorry.
Too wry! It is my fault!
Mayo or Vaughn
Vaughn
Yoo playa 10 team OPS would you drop
C. Walker for Vaughn ?
Yes
Hey Grey,
I got Boyled last night. I, too, rolled the bones with him. I did wake up to this offer, tho:
20 team h2h cat dynasty
Joe Boyle
Hagen Smith
For
Sandy Alcantara
Stick with Boyle or bet on Alcantara leveling up going forward?
Thanks.
Sure, try Sandy
6×6 10 tm h2h cats OBP QS.

Answer to the Wilson ROY question: 1975 – Jim Rice (likely ROY) injured in August, which elevated Fred Lynn.
Wow, nice pull!
Suprised no mention of Acuna…..season is probably over given where Atl is n standings and likely achilles strain or tendonitis.
I apologize all mighty Grey…my eyes deceived me!!! Missed it…my bad.
No problem
It was one of those cool debut moments for Troy Johnston as he got a hit in his first MLB AB. (Sure, it came against the Cards, but it still counts). Family was there. Had played close to 700 games in minors & winter ball.
Very nice!
I went to Giant’s Fantasy Camp about 10 years ago and my coach was Joel Youngblood. One of the nicest guys you’d ever want to meet. Could still hit line drives on every pitch and was in fantastic shape at 60!
We almost benched Harris, didn’t and got rewarded with injuries to Roupp, Kirk, Suarez, and Bautista . Topper is Freidl on paternity leave. Bad week. You can’t get stats if they don”t play and you’re in a weekly moves league. Thanks for making me laugh every morning.
Haha, amazing! His feat of playing in two games resides in my brain and won’t leave…Brutal when guys go down or stop playing mid-week
Chicken parm is ratios not counting. It’s always a matter of degrees of excellence…
Exactly
Grey!!!!
Awesome!!
Rodney Dangerfield quote of the day for July 30, 2025
Dr Vinny Boombatz,
that’s another one.
I said I wanna stop aging.
He gave me a gun.
