The good news is the top 20 outfielders for 2026 fantasy baseball are better than the top 20 3rd basemen. The bad news is, if you had a five-outfielder league, you need at least 60 of these guys in a 12-teamer, and, by the time we get through 40 in our next post, we will […]

Halloween is approaching. It’s one of my favorite holidays. I have fond memories of it as a kid, and I still enjoy it as an adult. The monsters, decorations, scary movies, and classic cartoons are fun and nostalgic. I like seeing the little kiddos trick-or-treating. The costume parties aren’t too bad either, but before I […]

I am shifting gears this week and focusing on some very early rankings for 2027. I will start with a list of the top 50. The rankings are subjective, based on what I saw this season. They rely heavily on present value but factor in growth or decline. I am playing to win, so I […]

Atlanta Braves starting pitcher slash deadline acquisition slash heartthrob Tyler Mahle continued his dominant run Friday night with a scoreless six inning outing, allowing just four base runners (three hits) and striking out six Astros to clinch the Braves’ spot in the postseason. It was his seventh win of the year, and fourth win with […]

Here in September, I don’t feel like there’s a lot of advice I can offer that isn’t covered by others. We’ve got folks out here drawing your attention to who to add for crunch time. Are you looking for advice on which pitchers to stream? We’ve got you covered. And if you’re looking to maximize […]

Gavin Williams (7 IP, 0 ER, 3 baserunners (1 BB), 13 Ks, ERA at 3.81) might have the record for most ledes in one calendar year, and he only has a 3.81 ERA! Has any pitcher ever been so good while seeming so bad? Sorry, he’s excellent. Also, he’s got a near-4 ERA? I’m not […]

I always remember one line from The Shawshank Redemption when Andy said: “How can you be so obtuse?” In fantasy baseball, we often have implicit bias and cling to old biases, name value, or even general consensus when we value players. We even sometimes stubbornly refuse to see it when it’s staring us in the […]

Mariners went out and got Taylor Ward at the deadline and ever since they’ve been like: [pokes Taylor Ward with a stick] “Uh, is he supposed to move?” [lights end of stick with a fire, takes burning ember and pokes Taylor Ward again] “No, he’s a goner. Sad. I guess toss him into the Puget […]

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher slash journeyman slash heartthrob Michael Wacha pitched a real gem Friday night going eight innings allowing just four hits and striking out ten Cleveland Guardians for his eighth win of the year. Don’t laugh, Fozzy, this is vintage Michael Wacha Wacha, the only thing funny here is that the Guards […]

It’s not all bad news that you don’t have Nick Martinez on any teams. If you drafted him instead of Paul Skenes in the 2nd round, your leaguemates would’ve lured you into Patrick’s basement. (Patrick is your leaguemate and the stock broker who keeps trying to get you in his fund, and you’re like, “Patrick, […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Corbin Carroll had two of Arizona’s FIFTEEN hits last night as the D-Backs did their best impression of the worst hosts in baseball with a 9-0 thumping of Nick Lodolo and the Cincinnati Reds. The Snakes were biting in Arizona as Gabriel Moreno (2-for-5, 1 RBI, 5th SB), Geraldo Perdomo (3-for-5, 2 R, 1 RBI), […]

As we approach the home stretch (under 40 games left), it is time to make adjustments. We will discuss players who flipped the script, guys on heaters, players saving their best for last, and a few that may sink you if you stick with them. For some slumping stars, it’s another reminder to be patient, […]
