Sal Stewart (2-for-4, 6 RBIs and his 6th and 7th homer, hitting .323) is the first time in the history of the Reds that I’ve liked a hitter coming into the year and he’s actually performed well. Matt McLain? More like Matt McLame (wiped out his whole family with that one). TJ Friedl? More like TJ Friedmegood (burned myself there). Elly’s been great, but I think I expected a 40/70 season, so ya came up short at short! Spencer Steer? Steer me away! Noelvi Marte? I can’t even speak on him he hurt me so much! This has been going on for years too! “Jonathan India will surely follow up his rookie campaign with a solid season, right?” Rhymes with Mumbai and it goes: Bye bye! “This will be the year of Will Benson.” Two seconds later, no, it’s not! CES? It’s not YES. Nick Senzel? Are you senzeless?! Drury, Moistasskiss, Aristides Aquino? Bad, terrible, worstides! Sal Stewart though? He’s my perfect boy. (Wait until next year when he’s awful after I draft him in the top 25.) Anyway, here’s what else I saw this weekend in fantasy baseball:
Elly De La Cruz – 1-for-4, 2 runs and his 6th homer. Was getting a lot of questions about trading him away yesterday, and I have no idea why. He’s on a 40/50 pace.
Eugenio Suarez – 3-for-4 and his 3rd homer, hitting .250. I need him to do one of those 45 homers in two weeks streaks, badly, because I was the Eugenius who drafted him in a few places.
Rhett Lowder – 6 2/3 IP, 3 ER, 6 baserunners, 4 Ks, ERA at 3.52. His peripherals are Lowder and dirty, and not in a good way.
Harrison Bader – Hit the IL with a hamstring strain. That opens up at-bats for Drew Gilbert–Hold up! As I was looking at their depth chart, Casey Schmitt (0-for-4) is now their three-hole hitter? Is that fo’ reals? Have the Giants given up already?
Kyle Bradish – 6 IP, 4 ER, 9 baserunners (1 BB), 4 Ks, ERA at 5.49. Positives: He was hitting 98.9 in the 1st inning. Negatives: He was down to 95 MPH by the 6th inning. Positives: He only gave up four hits over 90 MPH. Negatives: The four hits under 90 MPH still count, even the janky 29 MPH, 76 MPH and 72.8 MPH singles. His underlying numbers are all good, except his command (4.6 BB/9), but that was better yesterday. I’m encouraged but was way more encouraged early in his outing vs. later.
Jeremiah Jackson – 2-for-5, 3 RBIs and his 4th homer, three homers in three games. There’s no hotter schmotato than Jermajesty!
Eduardo Rodriguez – 5 IP, 4 ER, 10 baserunners, 3 Ks, ERA at 1.96. I know we’re not in leagues with expected stats, but Bradish is pitching better than EdRod. With that said (quick u-turn!), Streamonator likes EdRod’s next one and I could see it.
Adrian Del Castillo – 2-for-5, 5 RBIs and his 1st homer, hitting .346. I don’t know why they’d go back to Moreno when he comes off the IL, but the DBags will. Oh, they will.
Sam Antonacci – 1-for-3 as he was recalled from Triple-A. Here’s what I said the other day, “Last year, Antonacci went 5/48/.291 in the minors with a 14.1 K%. He seems like a poor man’s Caleb Durbin. Call him Caleb Barginbin.” And that’s me quoting me! He seems fine in a 15-team mixed league and deeper and possibly in shallower, depending on your MI shituation. If the power he showed in the WBC for Team Italy translates to MLB, then he could be better than Durbin, and what the actual gabagool is going on with Vinnie P. and Caglianone?
Jake Fraley – 1-for-3 and a slam (1) and legs (1), then was lifted for a pinch-hitter, Jonny DeLuca (1-for-1, 3 RBIs) who hit his 2nd homer, because Kevin Cash is a stupid, evil genius.
Junior Caminero – 1-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and his 3rd homer. Not bad for transpo used in The Toy.
Jose Quintana – 3 2/3 IP, 3 ER, ERA at 5.63 as he was activated from the IL. Good to have him back. Jo-Qui, just Jo-Qui.
Spencer Arrighetti – 6 IP, 1 ER, 6 baserunners (4 BBs), 10 Ks, as he was called up. I like him; I picked him up; I went over him yesterday. This start was vs. the Suckies, though.
Yordan Alvarez – 2-for-3, 2 runs and his 7th homer. My fantasy teams with Yordan from last year are doing so good as they live on in the metaverse.
Enyel De Los Santos – 1 IP, 0 ER, ERA at 1.35, and his 2nd save. The closer hot potato in Houston might’ve finally stopped getting tossed. If you found us from googling “getting tossed,” um, not sure what you’re looking for, but you’re welcome! Wouldn’t be shocked to see Bryan King get the next save, but it could just be Enyel’s job. Worth grabbing both.
Trevor Megill – Sounds like the Brewers are weighing other options at closer. The soul weighs 21 grams, weighing a change at closer has to be at least two pounds. I looked to add Abner Uribe (1 IP, 0 ER, ERA at 4.91, and his 1st save), but he was not available in my leagues. Better luck to you, save vultures! By the way, I don’t know if this is just Abner for good now as the closer. Though, it could be.
Chad Patrick – 6 2/3 IP, 1 ER, 5 baserunners, 2 Ks, ERA at 0.95. Never seen such awful peripherals as Chad Patrick’s. They’re hideous. I might not even use him if it’s favorable on the Streamonator.
Dylan Cease – 6 IP, 0 ER, 5 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 1.74. Make that my teams in the metaverse with Yordan and Cease.
Jesus Luzardo – 5 1/3 IP, 8 ER, ERA at 7.94. I’m sorry if you have this guy, but this is tremendous content. Terrible, terrible, you bench him and he’s great!, then terrible again. He’s well-named because you say his name when you roster him and it’s not blasphemy. It’s blasphemous what he does to you!
Bryce Harper -1-for-4 and his 4th homer. That gives him four homers and 12 TikToks on the year.
Trea Turner – 1-for-2 and his 2nd homer, hitting .260. Treat Urner hit that homer 423 feet. Elias Vibes Bureau said that’s 40 more feet than anyone thought possible. Elias Sports Bureau said we’re not related to the Vibes Bureau, and we’re currently in litigation.
Nico Hoerner – 3-for-5, 2 runs, 5 RBIs and a slam (2) and legs (6), hitting .324. In retrospect, does it make sense to anyone how Nico was going 70 picks after Trea?
Dansby Swanson – 3-for-5, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and his 4th homer, 3rd homer in four games, hitting .200. That’s Dansbenetton to you!
Shota Imanaga – 6 IP, 1 ER, 4 baserunners, 11 Ks, ERA at 2.45. Shota looks solid under the hood, okay, that’s underselling. Shota looks like one of the best pitchers in baseball, when just looking at his peripherals — 12.7 K/9, 2.1 BB/9, 2.46 xFIP, velo up and straight butter. I’d rerank him as a top 10 starter.
Bobby Witt Jr. – 0-for-4, hitting .254. He hits 2nd every game. He has one run all year. He’s on pace for eight runs. For the season!
Seth Lugo – 6 2/3 IP, 1 ER, 5 hits, zero walks, 7 Ks, ERA at 1.48. Wow, he must be pitching so well because he’s imagining himself pitching vs. the Royals’ lineup.
Jack Flaherty – 6 IP, 1 ER, 5 baserunners, 7 Ks, ERA at 4.05. I’m pretty sure I could pitch against the Royals right now. These Royals have scurvy! Please, someone who can hit? Storm the palace and turn them into a constitutional monarchy!
Corey Seager – 1-for-3, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and his 5th homer. 12 homers, that’s his first IL stint, just an eff why eye.
Joel Kuhnel – 1 1/3 IP, 0 ER, ERA at 0.00. As soon as I say he’s the A’s closer, he will give up 5 ER in a 1/3 IP. So, he seems to have emerged as a leading candidate.
Shea Langeliers – 2-for-5, 2 RBIs and his 6th homer, hitting .304. Thank you, Mr. Bangeliers, may I have another?
Jacob Wilson – 2-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 1st homer, hitting .254. He’s not overdue for a homer. He’s overdue for a 4-for-4 with four singles.
Randy Vasquez – 4 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 2.49. Damn, Regression Fairies, ya’ll going after me like I mismatched my socks.
Emerson Hancock – 6 IP, 2 ER, 5 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 2.28. Ya know “A little knowledge is a dangerous thing” that’s some with stats. After I said, Hancock looked excellent in his first start, some were like, “But he had a low swinging strike rate,” or something. You may as well be claiming a player has low T. It was one start. I merely said I wanna get aboard and see where it goes. There’s no harm in that. He’s currently looking like one of the early breakouts.
Andres Munoz – 2/3 IP, 5 ER, ERA at 9.45. It’s the closerpocalypse! Hide your women, children and relievers who are in line for saves!
Luke Raley – 4-for-5, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and his 4th homer, hitting .339. Luke Raley has been better than Vinnie P., kill me now.
Shohei Ohtani – 6 IP, 1 ER, 4 baserunners, 10 Ks, ERA at 0.50, as he pitched, but didn’t hit. Makes it easier to decide how to play him, at least, but I hope nothing’s wrong. Yes, it’s comical “just pitching” isn’t enough.
Dalton Rushing – 2-for-4, 2 runs, 4 RBIs and his 4th homer, hitting .529. I know he’s behind Smith, but I’m so glad I just picked him up anyway. He’s about to have a top 12 catcher season in only 300 ABs.
Kyle Tucker – 1-for-5 and his 2nd homer. Also, in this game, Teoscar Hernandez (2-for-4, 2 runs) hit his 4th homer and Hyeseong Kim (1-for-4, 2 RBIs) hit his 1st homer. Dodgers are relentless, and I want no part of them at home.
Devin Williams – 1/3 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 6.75. Kazaam!
Carmen Mlodzinski – 6 IP, 0 ER, 4 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 1.77. Saying Mlod like I’m in the Game of Thrones universe. Okay, time to dig in! [makes farting noises with hands under pits] That was me getting ready still. He’s an under 9 K/9, 3+BB/9 with declining velo but mostly a splitter/slider guy. It’s okay. In most shallower leagues, it’s a Streamonator call.
Dennis Santana – 1 IP, 0 ER, ERA at 1.00, and his 2nd save. He’s the closer. I think. Maybe. No. He is. Maybe.
Liam Hicks – 1-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 4th homer. This is the best Liam performance since Oasis got halfway through Wonderwall before screaming at each other and storming off the stage.
Martin Perez – Signed with the Braves. This is a shot through my heart, piercing right where I had Didier Fuentes’s name tattooed.
Bryce Elder – 5 2/3 IP, 0 ER, 6 baserunners, 7 Ks, ERA at 0.77. Picked him up in FAAB in one of my leagues for $57 out of a $1000, and I’ve been very happy with him. It’s a little bit smoke and mirrors, but not as much as maybe you think. He looks like a solid #4.
Austin Riley – 2-for-4 and his 1st homer, hitting .229. “You can try to use his body to go down the log flume, if you like–Hold on! He moved! Riley’s alive!”
Ozzie Albies – 1-for-4 and his 4th homer. Also, in this game, Matt Olson (1-for-4, 2 RBIs) hit his 5th homer. Thank you, Mozzie Olbies, which sounds like the first thing an alien would say after landing here.
Austin Martin – 2-for-4 and his 1st homer. Wonder if he’s related to Pirates great, Bill Maserati.
Ryan Kreidler – 1-for-3, 3 RBIs and his 2nd homer, and 2nd homer in two games. After the Red Sox leave town, an innovative manager would have the Twins hypnotized into thinking they’re always facing the Sawx. Shame Derek Shelton can’t even figure out lineup cards.
Trevor Story – 2-for-4, 5 RBIs and his 2nd homer. “It’s the Story of a man named Brady House…” That’s me mumbling after falling asleep to Nick At Nite.
Connelly Early – 6 IP, 1 ER, 4 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 2.29, and tamed that wild beast, the Twins, and turned them into Gemini. Connelly needs to rein in his command a bit. But it’s Early. Bam! High five me! No? You’re right.
Slade Cecconi – 4 IP, 1 ER, ERA at 5.03 vs. Dustin May – 6 IP, 1 ER, 7 baserunners, 4 Ks, ERA at 6.98. “Being out-pitched by Dustin May leads to an automatic demotion to the minors.” That’s me pitching new rules to MLB.
Luis Gil – 5 IP, 4 ER, 7 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 7.00. He looks like, “Is he going to the pen or the minors when Rodon returns?”
Aaron Judge – 1-for-4 and his 7th homer. Also, in this game, Aaron Boone let Ben Rice (0-for-4) play, but now he’s cooled off. Great work, Boone! Or should I say, great work, William H. Macy in The Cooler.
Mike Trout – 2-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 6th homer, and 4th homer in three games. The last visiting player to hit homers on three consecutive games at Yankee Stadium was Miggy Cabrera in 2013. They’re the only two to ever do it. That’s a situation where I’m not sure which player should be more honored to be mentioned. Two of the best of all-time.
Logan O’Hoppe – 1-for-4 and his 1st homer, hitting .218. He’s making me wish I punted catcher harder, but with my foot.
Jordan Romano – 1/3 IP, 2 ER, ERA at 8.44. He’s given up 5 ER in his last 1/3 IP. Cheese-us, he sucks. I like the idea of Chase Silseth getting looks, but Drew Pomeranz would likely be next in line.
Jorge Soler – Suspension was reduced to four days and began serving it yesterday. For those doing the math, his suspension was shorter than Reynaldo’s, but I’ve said my peace on this. I am the only person for the Stand Your Mound Law.
Would you trade Kenley and Hoerner for Mookie? 12 team keeper league, likely rebuilding.
Do you think Hoerner will be a top 50ish player by next year (or this year)?
Thanks!
Nico is as valuable as Mookie
Montgomery or Bogaerts
Rey Lopez or Lugo
Colson — Lopez
!. J Jackson, B Durbin, Dubon
2.Elder, Cecconi, Verlander
3.Wells, Jeffers, Rushing
4.Canzone or L. Raley
Please rank ROS. Thanks
Durbin 2. Elder 3 Jeffers 4 Raley
Grey
Would you drop Max Muncy (ATH) or Garrett Mitchell for Jeremiah Jackson
Mitchell
X Ashcraft off the list
Eh, Ticker Shock. Only two of the runs were earned. Almost a QS.
Roupp looking strong today. Him or K. Harrison ROS? Looking for the one with best chance to not be a streamer.
Roupp
Thanks man.
No problem
Grey did a poor job drafting speed and need to make a move before I fall too far behind, Currently at 9 SBs and the Roto leader has 22
Have two sets of players I can acquire:
I’d be giving up A Riley and Teoscar for:
1) McLain/Chisholm Jr/Springer
2) Maikel Garcia/PCA
Any preference ?
Either, 2 first
Jazz/PCA and lesser extent Maikel are top round picks. Surprised if they’d accept either. Just imo. Try for C. Simpson, hitting leadoff now and you shouldn’t have to part with much.
and Riley wasn’t ? PCA has looked awful to start the year I’m taking a risk with him because I need to
Was only saying Jazz a 2nd rounder and PCA a 3/4 rounder with Riley closer to 5th. 100% right on PCA though, hopefully you snag him and he turns it around for you. Best of luck man.
Cam Smith or Laureano? H2H points. Heart & head both say Smith but Laureano has more points in this league so far (huge sample size, I know).
Thanks!
Smith
Thank you sir — I love getting confirmation of my bias.
Ha No problem
I want to add Elder and/or Detmers in a 12-team h2h. Which of the following would you drop to do so: Muncy (ATH), B.Abreu, W.Warren, C.Beeter
Abreu, Beeter
Would you drop Pivetta in a dynasty league where my IL spots are full? Or try to hold and see how the rest and recovery go?
Yes drop
Hey Grey,
Here are my starting pitchers: Ohtani, Cantillo, Soroka, C. Sanchez, Gausman, Woodruff, Rasmussen, Bubic, R. Suarez, E. Cabrera, and Abbott. I have M. Kelly on IL needing to come off. Would you drop any to activate Kelly, or let him sit on IL a bit longer? Also, would you drop any to pick up Arrighetti or C.Mize?
Would drop any of O’Brien, Baker, Junis, or Hoffman to pick up De Los Santos?
Thanks!
O’Brien has been money.
Move on from Abbott…to Kelly is fine…Nope on Enyel
Sheehan, Mize, and Baz. Keep two rest of year.
Mize, Sheehan
C: Carter Jensen
1b: Rafael Devers
2B: Ozzie Albies
3B: Manny Machado
SS: Dansby Swanson
OF: Corbin Carroll
OF: James Wood
OF: Cody Bellinger
Util 1: Micheal Busch
Util 2: JJ Wetherholz
Bench: Matt McLain
SP: Kevin Gausman
SP: Tyler Glasnow
SP: Nolan McLean
RP: Bednar, Ryan Walker, Junis
SP: Gavin Williams
SP: Kodai Senga
SP: Emmet Sheehan
SP: Taj Bradley
SP: Mick Abel
SP: Merrill Kelly
IL: Shane Bieber
1) I feel like I could easily trade a SP and still have great pitching. Agree?
2) It’s a 12 team keeper league.
Offer 1: Guy offered me Jarred Duran (no keeper) for Tyler Glasnow (no keeper).
Offer 2: Guy offered me Tyler Soderstrom (r22, 1yr left) for Kevin Gausman (r15, 1 yr left).
a) Has your preseason opinion on Duran or Soderstrom changed in the first 3 weeks?
b) Feels like both make me better / would be acceptable. Agree?
c) Presume you like the Duran one more than the Soderstrom one, but let me know.
Thanks!
A. I didn’t liek Duran…I like Soder still B. I’d want Duran over Glasnow and Soder or Gaus is a push, acceptable if you need it C. Not really
12 TM PTS league: I just traded Andy Pages, Cam Smith, and Drew Rasmussen for Wyatt Langford and Jacob deGrom in one league.
Should I have asked for more in another league where I traded Pages, Edward Cabrera and Mize for deGrom and Noah Cameron? Cam Smith and Mize were mostly likely going to end up on the waiver wire in time for my teams anyway.
Yes
Start one
Bibee v Baltimore
Chandler v TB
Bubba
Hi Grey,
Someone dropped Luis Castillo. I have 100% of my FAB. What would you invest?
This is first time messaging but I’m a long time fan of the insights and laughs!
KC
Thanks! He looks kinda broken, depends on the league, but maybe $3
12 team redraft h/h points
My player pickups cost me $$$ have to choose wisely
Ok
He chose … poorly
Sheehan and Suarez are available on my wire.
Would you drop Butler, Ward, MHII or F Alvarez for either of em? Hold?
I do have Rice, so Alvarez seems a little more expendable.
Thanks.
There’s roughly 17 Suarezes
Haha! Ranger
Suarez over Alvarez
Antonacci in my NA slot. Do I drop any of the following to put him on roster, or hold and wait? Position does not matter.
Jose Fernandez II, Bryson Stott, Luis Garcia Jr, Colt Keith, Justin Crawford
Meh, hold
I get it how their respective teams/managers have to allow their superstars i .e. Kurtz, Raleigh, Julio, et. al. to hit their way out of their early season doldrums but do they have to do it in the critical slots in the lineups, 1-2-3?
Yes, preferably lol
Especially so if they are players that you roster, get them those AB’s!
Yup!
Grey, who is the drop out of Cavalli, Dustin May, Jack Kochanowitz, Liberatore, Clay Holmes or Matz?
All of them? I guess May
don’t sleep on Matz! doubles as an excellent mattress store slogan.
Don’t sleep with the Matzes
The Corleone’s are going to the Matzeses
Haha
I like my Matzes with butter and a little bit of cinnamon sugar
Yum!
lol – when he was drafted, my daughter posted that she made out with him on social.
Battle of Ward Melville today. Matz vs. Kay. I ick them up every year and hope for the best. Friends of my daughters.
Haha
Top of the Day Sir earl Grey,
Thank you for the laughs and wit, at least your wit is filled with hits:)!
I’m leaning to starting Leiter in NorCal, would you?
Awesome job, you are a Rolls Royce, Austin Martin or Maserati are not as luxurious…
CCC
Haha, sure, start him…
Got my eyes on Ashcraft today …. Ready to make the grab
Cool
If he’s still available in your league you gotta grab him.
Hi Grey,
I’m im a 10 team H2H weekly pool. Looking to upgrade 1B (Vinny P is killing me) and SP. please rank the top 3 options for each:
1. Who are the top 3 1B options from this group?:
Julien
Colt Keith
Burger
Liam Hicks
Luke Raley
Luis Arraez
2. who are the top 3 SP options from this group?:
Springs
Early
Elder
Ryne Nelson
Boyd (coming back soon)
Thanks!
LG
1. Burger, Raley, Julien
2. Early, Elder, Boyd
10tm head to head is it time to use Naylors spot for streaming? Im playing Aranda over him at corner.
In 2nd place but trying to not do something dumb just because naylor cant hit anymore
I don’t like that
I have Cam Smith as an end of draft flyer in a 15 team keeper league. Was offered Jordan Walker for him. Both are $3 keepers. Who do you like more?
I’d probably keep Cam Smith.
Morning G,
Got a trade offer for my McGonigle for their Trevor Rogers in a 5×5 QS redraft. What say you?
Not sure if it matters, but Emerson is still out there so I could conceivably pick up as a flier to replace some of the lost potential
Thanks!
-IANASM
I’d take it
Thanks! Are you stashing Colt Emerson in a 12 teamer? Or is he a wait and see?
Feels a little early for that in like an RCL
Hey Grey! This is my current roster in a 12-team H2H categories league that uses OBP and QS.
My lineup is: C Langeliers, 1B Yandy 2B Otto, 3B J. Jackson, SS Neto, OF Acuña Jr., Yordan, Belli, UTIL Bux and UTIL C. Simpson, with DeLauter and Varsho on the bench. SP: T. Rogers, M. Gore, G. Williams, C. Early, Messick, Hancock, K. Harrison, Cantillo, Abel, Wacha, and Detmers.
I’d appreciate your insight and any recommendations for modifications or strategic adjustments, particularly given the OBP and QS scoring format. I’m punting saves, but so far the quantity has me winning W, QS, Ks, with ERA and WHIP being a toss up. Also, would you consider any trades to upgrade a weakness?
Team looks solid to me, backend of your pitching is a little wonky….not sure how K. Harrison, Cantillo, Abel, Wacha, and Detmers or Varsho and DeLauter on bench is better than competing in saves, but otherwise I don’t know if I have anything…I guess trade Buxton for a better pitcher?
Thanks man. Super helpful.
No problem
Quick follow up: I think I’m rostering so many of these young SPs to see who “sticks” and becomes more than a streamer. Potentially hit as many breakouts as I can as I rarely put draft resources towards pitching. Issue is no one really wants them for a closer, ostensibly until they’re more proven. The question: would you move any of those SPs for spec guys like Varland and De Los Santos (both available), or just hold for now and hope value increases? Sorry for convoluted question, and I appreciate your time.
Not the wrong way to go about it, hold the SPs to see who breaks out…Then trade Bux for a closer, and alternate who is your UTIL from bench and waivers
Right on. Thanks Grey.
No problem
Do you like Spencer A over Early or McClanahan?
Not yet
Imanaga (#20) and Ohtani (#25) earned the top starts of the day on the 100 Best Fantasy Starts list. American starters still dominate the list, though.
Thanks, Vin!
Here is the current rank on the RAZZBALL PLAYER RATER of the first 36 players drafted March17-24 (25 RCL drafts):

155 Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
408 Nick Kurtz
651 Garrett Crochet
XXX Jackson Chourio
319 Jazz Chisholm Jr.

38 Yoshinobu Yamamoto
149 Pete Crow-Armstrong
9 Yordan Alvarez
40 Zach Neto
104 Cristopher Sanchez
14 Brice Turang
271 Roman Anthony
This is a brutal list to see, and it makes it plainly obvious why I have teams struggling…
MY EYES!!!!! MY EYES!!!!!!!
Ohtani (batting) owner here and strongly considering potential trade offers to sell him. Definitely feels like pitching even more the focus so far. Offensive numbers down and I don’t think he’s even attempted a SB. Is he going to kick in on offense soon or are we looking at a letdown season?
Potential offer of my Ohtani/Arozarena for Acuna/De La Cruz
Elly side
I doubt it
I dropped Dansby before his hot streak and I knew it would come back to bite me as he’s currently the hottest player on the planet. I don’t have a question, just wanted to share my pain.
Ouch
Turturro
“ If you want me to keep my mouth shut, it’s gonna cost you some dough. I figure a thousand bucks is reasonable, so I want two.”
Haha
the only thing i can think is Reynaldo must have said some truly vile shizz to Soler to get him to charge the mound…suspension worthy trash talk of some sort. it’s the only that makes sense to me.
Agreed. The pitch wasn’t egregious, and there was a runner on, so it seemed like Soler took offense at nothing and charged the mound. Unless Lopez said something vile about Soler’s mama, it’s hard to understand why Lopez got the harsher punishment
Yeah, maybe, hadn’t thought about that
Lopez really got a meaningless suspension though, unless he doesn’t get paid for the 5 days. A SP getting 5 days has almost no effect. If there is an off day in-between starts, he’s pitching on his regular schedule. Or at worst moves his start out 1 day. I think he should have gotten a few more days for fighting like a girl :-), apologies to the nice 5 ladies here, using the ball as a weapon.
12 team redraft h/h points
Can add 1 SPer
Baz
Ashcraft
Arrighetti
Ashcraft
Arrighetti over Junk or Detmers?
Keeeping it Italian themed…
Grab B, Joyce after Romano getting shredded?
Over Junk
Yates
I have Agustin Ramirez and Ivan Herrera and was going to start whichever was starting, hotter, better matchup (probably a dumb strategy but here I am). Should I swap one of these guys for Dalton Rushing to bet on him getting more starts or traded? I am in a keeper league but we have a limit of 5 and not sure Dalton would make the cut with my other keepers anyway.
Nah
Rest of season at first base- Burger, Bell , or Raley? Thanks!
Burger
Keeper league. Is it crazy for me to trade Freeman and Isaac Collins for Konnor Griffin and Luke Raley? It’s early but my team is near the bottom and my team is full of holes…
not at all
Agree with Steve
Need a 1B. Would you trade Jordan Walker for Sal Stewart? Thank you.
Sure
Right now the Mets should be treated like the Rockies on the road. The team has 9 runs in their last 8 games against SP’s.
Ouch
I didn’t come here for THIS. I came for love and support for my one RP who gave up 5 ER in 2/3 last night. Why can’t I have one nice RP???
Would you trade Marsee for Murakami in an OBP league? I have decent steals and need some power. Could likely find a replacement on waivers like Jacob Young.
As an alternative, I’m pretty stacked on pitching and could probably convince trade partner to accept Hancock or Messick for Murakami. I think I’d prefer to send Hancock. Basically, is Marsee worth keeping or concerned about contact (he’s easily getting beat on fastballs)? Trade Hancock or Messick instead of Marsee for Murakami? Thank you!
I don’t believe in Marsee, but apples/oranges, do you need pitching?
Sounds fine
Kirby Yates on a rehab assignment. He will close when he gets back because he and the manager are both Hawaiian. Dumb but true. You’ve been alerted. Also the last time Mike Maddux was his pitching coach he had 33 saves (and 7 wins), a 1.17 era ans 12+ k/9. surely that was a decade ago, you exclaim. Nay. The ancient year of 2024.
Also I read that players go to Hawaii in the winter to lean Kirby’s splitter. It’s weird but fun that guys have magical pitches they’ll just teach to anyone. I heard about a lot of guys trying to learn the Garrett Whitlock change up this off season.
At least a decade ago! I believe it on Yates, yeah likely for saves eventually
Grey,
can only start one of these guys next week. Who ya got?
Elder @Was; PHI
Gray DET; @Bal
Hancock ATH; @StL
Lugo BAL; LAA
Lugo
Crap. Someone just grabbed him. Can I get your 2nd choice?
Hancock
Can we just get it over with and crown Sal the 2026 NL ROY or do we have to wait for that silly old rule requiring that they first must play all 162 games first?
Haha
Closerpocolypse: We have Romano in 3 leagues and Megill in 2. Back ups like King (Astros), Varland, Kilian and Pomerantz (and others) are available but we have no bench room. We’d have to cut either or both. What to do??
Thanks as usual
Guys on waivers aren’t moving needle enough to give up on what you have, but I would bench them for now if I could
Nolan Ryan was the Stand Your Mound OG.
Respect.
Respect!
Kyle Farnsworth took to another level though, and actually rushed back towards the batter. That’s Braveheart bro
Hahaha
Would you trade Imanaga for Rooker?
Sounds fair, don’t love it
Wait until May 1 to officially panic on 40% strikeouts Kurtz? Thanks …
I’ve watched a lot of his ABs. Not swing out of the zone/chasing. When he connects, he hits everything hard. He is walking. He had a slow start to the year last year and then went off. I wouldn’t panic yett. Last night stunk, but my money is on him turning it around. Even if he is bad, he isn’t “this” bad.
it hasn’t heated up in sacto yet. been a cold couple weeks up here nor cal
I get that–thanks! No thoughts of bailing. OTOH, xBA .204. SwStr > 15%. Contact below 60%. I’m slotting Yandy for certain matchups. 🙏
Agree with others
Rank ROS; Marsee, lile, Varsho?
Varsho….Lile
Soler charges Reynaldo after a pitch that was clearly not intended to hit Soler… I don’t think Reynaldo should have been suspended at all. He didn’t even drop the ball or his glove to fight. A breach of justice!
Yes!
Streamonator says no but is Bubba Chandler a shallow league stat versus TB?
Seems fine
Top 2 of Abel Vazquez Detmers Wacha
Order to drop of Luis Castillo Burrows Cameron
Thank you
Detmers, Randy….Burrows, Cameron
Hey Grey
Do I drop Beeter for De Los Santos or Varland?
I can only own one of the three.
Yes, Enyel
My RCL team has Shota/Shohei and Munoz/Williams. Checking the stats this morning I was basically Chris Farley in the decaf coffee switcheroo sketch.
HAHA
Hey Grey! We heart Sal. Though, I hate that I missed out on him in both my leagues. And while neither could ever fill that Sal Stewart sized hole in my heart and my lineup… who do you like between Eldridge and Condon as a stash for OBP keeper?
Condon
Pick two of Cameron, Weathers and Detmers please
Weathers, Detmers
Jesse Luzardo was just drop 10 team league he is 1-3 with a 1.46 whip. Do I put a waiver in on him? He has two start next week both on the road against the Cubs and the Braves. Schult
Got cut off on the comment above. Schultz would be the drop. He going anyways. Could be another S.pP. Thanks as always.
I wouldn’t start Luzardo anywhere
Thanks Grey! Wondering if you’d move Wheeler and Waldschmidt for Freeman. OPS scoring. Harper isn’t current 1B, so Freeman would slot into the UTL (which is where I’ve got Murakami right now).
Peralta, Joe Ryan, Flaherty, Arrighetti, Braxton Ashcraft, and Detmers are SP. oh and H. Brown (IL) too.
Works for me
Thanks, sorry should have been that Harper is my current 1B.
Freeman a solid upgrade from Murakami? Any hesitation on giving up Waldschmidt, given how well he seems to be performing?
Sounds fine
In my Al only, Brito or Antonacci. In my league format, I can monocle him on my minor league roster where he currently resides, but once I activate him, he must stay in my starting lineup or I lose him.
Leave him in minor leagues, start Brito for now
Thanks.
No problem
Grey!!
Love you, man.
Hicks
Kurtz
Keaschall
Durbin
Abrams
Rumfield
Griffin
Benge, Greene, Yermajesty, Pages, Simpson
Schwarber
Bench Montgomery, Lile
SP Abel, Hancock, Kirby, Leiter, Lowder, Woo, Cantillo, Harrison
RP Chapman, Duran
IL Barger, Bryce Miller, Uceta
a) Thoughts? Most glaring needs? I plan on dropping Durbin when Barger comes off the IL.
b) In 10th but if the offense catches fire which is possible, I could make up some ground.
c) Need to slash ratios obviously. At least this year I didn’t sign up a Shintaro Fuji-San type.
d) Starting Leiter tonight in Sac Town?
Cheers,
Ante
Thanks! A. Rumfield, Benge, and Lowder feel like streamers unless this is a deep league, I don’t know the size… D. Sounds okay
Grey!
RCL, 12-teamer.
Cheers,
Ante
Ah…Well, you in 10th is doing better than me right now! Montgomery, Lile, Harrison and Benge are streamers
12 team points SVSHLD
Pick one from each please and thank you.

Soto, Uceta, Rico Garcia

Your colleague Kelder just had some bad things to say about Michael Busch in his corners report. Called him a .245/25 HR guy and tha last year was a career year. Thoughts? Would you still buy low?
And regarding the Astro’s closer job, who can say if it’s Enyel’s job…or it’s Bryan’s job…only time…
I’d buy low
