Steven Kwan hit the IL with a hammy injury, which really, really sucks–Hold up! Guards are calling up Kyle Manzardo! Oh, boy, I feel my rap altar ego, B. Fire coming on!

Kyle Manzardo?!
Aw sookie! That hit tool ain’t bizardo!
Headed to the DQ for the Blizzardo!
The original DQ was owned by a guy named Sherb Noble,
Making your lactose-intolerant belly into Chernobyl!
Wonder if that’s where the word sherbet came from, could someone google, I don’t have any more minutes on my mobile!

Damn, Drake and Kendrick don’t want none of this! So, here’s what Itch’s said, “(Manzardo) played well after coming over from Tampa in exchange for Aaron Civale, slashing .256/.348/.590 with six home runs in 21 games. Had gotten caught in between a bit early in the season as he sought to maximize his power as a six-foot, 205 lb left handed hitter with no defensive versatility, but he found himself along the way and kept hitting in the Arizona Fall League. If I saw Grey, I’d keep hitting his head.” Okay, not cool. This preseason I had less kind things to say on Manzardo. Saying previously he’s a platoon Schanuel. Call him Nolan Schnooze. Would I grab him everywhere? Sure, why not? Maybe he comes up and hits. In Triple-A in 29 games, he did have 9 HRs and .303 with a 17.2% strikeout rate, so he might’ve unlocked something extra. Like Sherb Noble on the jimmies! Anyway, here’s what else I saw this weekend in fantasy baseball:

Ben Lively – 6 IP, 1 ER, 7 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 2.08. There’s so many pitchers, Exhibit 134. Lively’s peripherals aren’t backing up a 2.08 ERA, but they’re not exactly saying he’s totally fibbing. Just laughed to myself thinking about someone saying to their friends, “I picked up Lively because Grey said he’s not totally fibbing.” You just lost a friend there. Sorry about that! Lively looks more real than I thought he would (10 K/9, 2.5 BB/9, 3.28 xFIP) and could see trying him in most mixed leagues for his next start.

Jose Ramirez – 1-for-3, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and a slam (6) and legs (5). JoJo-Ram making a play to become the new Mr. H2H.

Josh Naylor – 2-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 8th homer. Jo-Nay yay! (Said like Martin Lawrence.)

Javier Assad – 6 IP, 0 ER, 7 baserunners, 4 Ks, ERA at 1.66. He’s so good his last name feels like it’s beside the point. Javier’s great? Yeah, but Assad from that, he loves to groom dogs.

Jameson Taillon – 6 IP, 0 ER, 4 baserunners, 7 Ks, ERA at 1.13. His numbers are begging for the Regression Fairies to rearrange his closet and rip apart his ratios.

Freddy Peralta – 5 IP, 3 ER, 9 baserunners (6 BBs), 5 Ks, ERA at 3.49. Alternating starts now is FreddyKBB and FreddyIneedanantacid.

Erick Fedde – 4 1/3 IP, 5 ER, ERA at 3.46. The return of Fedde WAP!

Bryan Ramos – 1-for-3, 1 run, 1 RBI as he was called up. To make room, the White Sox IL’d the injured Mendick. Oh God! *crosses legs* Oh, it was just a back injury. Whew. So, Ramos looks promising for, I don’t know, 2026? He’s 22 and was hitting .182 in Double-A.

Eloy Jimenez – 1-for-4 and his 4th homer, hitting .231. Before the start of game yesterday, Austin Martin was higher on the Player Rater than Eloy. Who? That’s the point.

Garrett Crochet – 6 IP, 1 ER, 3 hits, zero walks, 6 Ks, ERA at 5.31. This start was vs. the Cards, who are in a battle with the White Sox for the worst hitting teams, and yesterday they were winning, uh, losing.

Dylan Carlson – 0-for-3 as he was activated from the IL. I pray for your fantasy team if you heard about Carlson returning and you got excited.

Clarke Schmidt – 5 IP, 3 ER, 4 hits, zero walks, 7 Ks, ERA at 3.50. Schmidt happens trying to change the connotations behind that phrase.

Aaron Judge – 2-for-3 and his 7th homer. He raised his average almost 25 points since Thursday. That’s in three games. Well, two and three-quarters, because he was ejected on Saturday. Family can afford to take their kid to one game per year. It costs $500 all-in and it’s going to take tightening up elsewhere in the family budget, but the kid loves Aaron Judge and wants to see him. Then he gets ejected. Ump should be immediately fired (into the sun).

Nestor Cortes – 6 1/3 IP, 2 ER, 4 baserunners, 9 Ks, ERA at 3.72. As long as his BB/9 is 1.5, or anywhere under 2, it’s hard to imagine him not being worthwhile.

Casey Mize – 5 1/3 IP, 5 ER, ERA at 3.98. I said move on after his previous start, not sure things are getting better.

Tarik Skubal – 6 IP, 2 ER, 6 hits, zero walks, 12 Ks, ERA at 1.90. Gonna be wild next year when someone drafts Skubal in the top 12 overall.

Jared Jones – 7 IP, 0 ER, 1 hit, zero walks, 10 Ks, ERA at 2.63. Every time the Rockies get a hit in an away game, their fans, if they had any, should act as the revelers do in Times Square at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s.

Oneil Cruz – 2-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 5th homer, and 2nd homer in three games. Are you telling me his career wasn’t over because he had a bad April? Wow, I heard different.

Sean Bouchard – 2-for-3 and his 1st homer. That’s exactly the kind of heads up Bud Black needs to get him out of the lineup.

Christian Scott – 6 2/3 IP, 1 ER, 6 baserunners, 6 Ks, as he was called up. Pitcher Christian, you’re the one! Watched every pitch he threw and looked as good as advertised. Think it’s between him, Jared Jones and Skenes for best rookie pitcher, and Scott’s here now. Also, just gave you my Christian Scott fantasy. All Weeknd the title’s song was stuck in my head.

Ryan Pepiot – Day-to-day after taking a 107 MPH screamer off the leg. Pepiot will now wrap his leg in parchment paper with lemon and herbs.

Randy Arozarena – 1-for-5 and a slam (5) and legs (5), 2nd homer in three games, hitting .143. “Help me move the recycle bin to the curb, would ya? Don’t look at me like that, I put the body in the correct bin–Hold on! Randy moved! He’s alive!”

Jose Caballero – 0-for-2, 3 runs and his 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th steal. Rays stole six bags off the Mets. Sadly, it was off multiple catchers and pitchers, so hard to discern who was so awful here, but looks like it was mostly Luis Severino and Nido, i.e., stream SBs vs. them.

Trea Turner – Hit the IL with a hamstring strain from hustling. He thinks he’ll miss at least six weeks. Stupid freakin’ Treat Urner trying to urn treats!

Taijuan Walker – 6 1/3 IP, 3 ER, 6 baserunners, 7 Ks, ERA at 6.39 vs. Logan Webb – 4 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 3.50. This matchup was billed as Webb/Walker, which is Peter Parker when he forgets his bus pass. High five! No? You’re right, that was awful.

Bryce Harper – 1-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 7th homer, hitting .234. At least he’s been better than Freeman and Olson! (I think on Freeman, they’ve both been pretty close to meh.)

John Means – 7 IP, 0 ER, 3 hits, zero walks, 8 Ks in his first start. Liked Means a lot before his injury. Living well above his Means, as they say in those posh British crime dramas you watch on BritBox as Mountcastle investigates. Means is not the most exciting pitcher; he’s not a borderline ace or anything, but he can be a usable back-end starter. Just about the Means.

Yennier Cano – 2/3 IP, 0 ER, and his 1st save on Saturday, as Craig Kimbrel (1/3 IP, 1 ER, ERA at 3.55) got a hard-earned Hold.

Jordan Westburg – 1-for-5, 2 RBIs and his 6th homer, hitting .286. The ball went Northburg.

Anthony Santander – 3-for-4, 2 runs, 5 RBIs and his 5th homer. Trade Santander to the Reds for Lodolo (5 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 2.79) right now. Please I’m begging here!

Alexis Diaz – 1/3 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 6.57. Kazaam! There’s no hell hot enough for the manager who brings a closer into a not save situation.

Dean Kremer – 6 IP, 0 ER, 1 hit, 1 walk, 6 Ks, ERA at 3.57. Sonavabench! Should’ve trusted Kremerica Industries to produce a solid, unassuming start, even in Cincy.

Max Muncy – Didn’t start Sunday,  but hit his 6th, 7th, 8th homers on Saturday. Max is the Munciest!

Shohei Ohtani – 4-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 9th and 10th homer, hitting .364. Shooting my shot here: If Ohtani is looking for a new best friend who is a terrible gambler, I’m available.

Evan Phillips – Hit the IL with Grade 1 hamstring strain. Sounds super minor, which makes sense in Grade 1. Can grab Daniel Hudson; he should get the next two weeks of saves.

Teoscar Hernandez – 1-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 8th homer. And the Teoscar goes to…Teoscar. That seems rigged.

Marcell Ozuna – 2-for-4 and his 10th homer, .308. Lost 50 points in average since I told you to sell him, but what I’d really like to talk about is how Matt Olson stopped playing baseball after last year. I miss him. Anyone know what he’s up to?

Framber Valdez – 5 1/3 IP, 5 ER, ERA at 3.97. Yeah, he’s totally fine. No concerns here! For those saying, oh, wow, you know now he sucks, but where were you in March? I was saying this since January.

Hunter Brown – 4 1/3 IP, 2 ER, ERA at 8.89. With it being Kentucky Derby weekend, it would only be right the Astros’ Hot Brown pitched. Not hot as in good, but Hot Brown as in it looks like diarrhea on a plate.

Jon Singleton – 2-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 3rd homer, and 3rd homer this week. From a Hot Brown to a hot schmotato!

Cal Raleigh – 1-for-5 and his 8th homer, 2nd homer in as many games. Just googled Raleigh’s stats, and google asked, “Did you mean twerking of giant butts?”

Daniel Lynch IV – 5 IP, 0 ER, 4 baserunners, 6 Ks, in his 1st start. Fun fact! When ranking Daniel Lynchs, it goes Daniel Lynch IV, Daniel Lynch II, Daniel Lynch III, Daniel Lynch V then Daniel Lynch I.

Wyatt Langford – Hit the IL with being a suck merchant. Excuse me a hamstring strain. Rangers said he’ll miss a month. So glad I only drafted him in one league. Dude was Tuffy Rhodes but in Spring Training! At least Tuffy did it in the majors!

Jon Gray – 7 IP, 2 ER, 7 hits, zero walks, 7 Ks, ERA at 2.50. He’s been so good this year, but Streamonator sees his next and says no way. Will finally get to see if you can go home again.

Ryan Jeffers – 1-for-5 and his 6th homer, hitting .291. On the Player Rater, he’s the 5th best catcher. So, unless you’re in a 4-team league, I don’t know why he’s on your waivers.

Ceddanne Rafaela – 1-for-3, 2 RBIs and his 3rd homer, hitting .202. Type of guy who I wouldn’t even wait for the official schmotato call or the pause to monocle. Like 7-11’s cylindrical hamburgers, just grab and go.

Rafael Devers – 2-for-5, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and his 4th homer, hitting .292. Getting stuffy in here, did someone shut the Buy Low window?

Joc Pederson – 1-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 3rd homer, hitting .297. Type to hit one homer then go on a schmotato run.

Michael King – 6 IP, 0 ER, 6 hits, zero walks, 3 Ks, ERA at 4.29. You heard of Kung Fu? This is Michael Fu King. He always be Fu King with us. Start him? He’s terrible. Bench him? He’s great. Streamonator says his next one will be awful, so where does that leave us? You gotta be Fu King kidding me, if you think I know.

Joe Musgrove – Hit the IL with triceps tendonitis. Damn, people wonder how I knew to avoid him. People say, “Can I get some of that crystal ball shizz you got?” Wish I could say I’m a witch, but it’s more because Musgrove had an arm injury last year. I know, crazy that was all it was. I think the wilder thing is others chose to ignore it.

Matt Waldron – 3 IP, 7 ER, ERA at 5.82. Padres buy and trade like contenders and play like a .500 team.

Jackson Merrill – 2-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 2nd homer, hitting .284. Now there’s a name I haven’t thought about in a while. If you bet any rookie named Jackson to win the ROY this year, don’t fear. Shota or Yamamoto could change their names.

Nick Gordon – 4-for-4, 2 runs, 3 RBIs and his 4th homer. Puts shizz in perspective when you see Nick Not-Strange-Gordon with four homers and Matt Olson with three homers.

Luis Arraez – 1-for-5, hitting .311. Luis Arraez could play on the moon and have the same value. Boost on runs on a better team? Sure. Is he really going to start hitting more homers? Well, yes, if he were traded to the moon. In San Diego? Meh.

Trevor Rogers – 2 1/3 IP, 8 ER, ERA at 6.15. This start was vs. the–oh, dear. The Marlins gave up 20 runs to the–oh my. The Marlins might need to smudge their clubhouse.

Vidal Brujan – 1-for-5, 1 RBI as he hit leadoff. With Arraez gone, I’m more interested in Brujan now. Oh, yeah, we’ve been down this road before. We cut through this road once a year it seems. Brujan has value! Woo hoo! Then you pick him up, and almost immediately want to drop him. He does have 40-steal speed, seems likely to play and is making incredible contact so far. Even William Buckley would be asking for more Vidal.

Luis Garcia Jr. – 4-for-4, 2 runs, 4 RBIs and a slam (3) and legs (6), hitting .337. If a player like Garcia is on pace for 15/30 with a .300+ average, he should be rostered or you should be in a deeper league.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. – 2-for-4, 4 RBIs and his 4th homer. Cake Batter remembering to be more batter and less cake.

Alek Manoah – 4 IP, 6 ER as he was called up. Wow, who is this young call-up?! I must read all I can on him! So, it says here he caused people to pull their hair out and another article says one fantasy owner of Manoah last year tried to kidnap him just so he wouldn’t start anymore for his fantasy team. Seems like it would be easier to just remove him from his lineup. Let’s see what Manoah’s done in the minors this year…a 5.87 ERA with a 6.1 BB/9? Sounds promising! Higher the numbers the better, right? No? Who are you, Archimedes? You wearing a toga and doing math with an abacus? So, Manoah looked cooked, but that doesn’t make any sense, because if he were cooked, he’d be eating himself.

Ah well, guess I’ll have to keep Keller around for another start.

Elsewhere, is it safe to lose Julien in a 12er? Tyring to be patient but it’s been a pretty desperate 10 days or so…

I’m watching Simeon Woods-Richardson mow down the Mariners. He’s struck out 5 of 6 batters faced. Rising fastball with 2 strikes right out of the zone. Looks dominant! Too bad he’s on my bench in his two start week, but still, glad to have him in a dynasty league if this is what he’s capable of.

Grey,

Jonny DeLuca:

  1. While coming up, stats say he’s a 5-tool prospect.
  2. Significantly amped up strength for functional, on-field power
  3. Personally sought out same swing consultant used by JD Martinez
  4. Extremely athletic.

Why no buzz on the guy? Your thoughts?

?. Maybe more than a bench bat? At least these few starts suggest TBR determing what they got in that trade…

DeLucq himself was very quick to point out in an interview that he’s focussed on hitting right handlers himself, and I think said his BA was actually better against them…. Feels like he intends to be Arozerena, not a platooned bat…. Time will tell of course.

Somebody in the ol’ H2H dropped Bednar. Can’t blame them I suppose.

Still, the guy as one of the top closers coming into the season and has been solid his last couple of times out, so I grabbed him.

So I now have Bednar, Iglesias, Estevez and Finnegan as closers. If I was to lose one, Estevez is probably the odd man out, right?

There is a date in May when called up players cannot use 2024 as an arbitration year. Do you (or any other reader) know when it is this year?

I’m assuming my two dead roster guys (Skenes and Caminero) will come up a day or two later.

I think this wording sounds right. But the 2024 season is 187 days. So 171 days would imply a mid-April cutoff. This would be great for me, but I don’t think this is correct. Maybe the 171 day limit got changed.

I remember it got publicized with Kris Bryant (May-8. 2015), and I thnik it is typicaly mid/late May.

Might as well ask everyone lol: Was offered his Bichette and Jared Jones for my CJ Abrams……Rebuilding in a 20 team deep dynasty, I’d say though not by any means amazing my pitching is slightly better than my hitting, but Jones looks like an ace and Bo can’t be this bad forever. But dang, CJ is looking like a top 20 player, on the other hand.

?He’s come back with adding Brooks Lee to the deal in a 3 for 1. Hold or Go?

Hello Grey! Excellent Monday summary yet again.

I have a “which to start” question for you in our Yahoo 12 Team H2H League with OPS. I “need” to start 3 of these 4 guys:

Tyler Black
Lard Ass Gurriel
Nick Senzel
Jordan West of the Burg

Kinda a vacuum question, and hopefully one that you don’t need matchups for.

Thanks very much.

And I had no idea Lard Ass was doing as poorly as he was over the last week or two. I wasn’t going to include him at first, but I am leaning towards benching him out of the 4 and starting the others in the various spots.

My team kinda blows, so it probably won’t help much, but oh well.

Thanks again Grey.

I need to tidy up my IL because I’ve maxed out spots. Who doesn’t make the cut: L. Thomas, M. McLain, W. Langford, S. Kwan, P. Fairbanks. I’ve only got 4 IL spots for those 5 guys. Curious to see your input. Thanks Grey!

Hi Grey, thank you in advance. People just ask of you and sometimes may not realize how much you do every day. Would you trade Adell for Hoerner? Would you add something in it to sweeten it or straight up? I know Adell is stealing, but he has been caught as many times as he has sb’s and possible he will stop a bit and his BA/OPS will tank. For context my CF depth currently is Bellinger (coming back this week?), Roberts (coming back), right now I have to roll with a carousel of Adell, Wilyer, and Doyle until they return. I need sb’s (don’t need runs), but ideally don’t like single category players. But perhaps, it makes sense with the players I have coming back… Thank you.

Hi Grey,

1.I have Tyler Black at 3B with Ryan McMahon as back up. Would you pick up Tyler Nevin to drop one or hold.

2.I have TAD as my catcher until my regular catcher Sean Murphy comes of IL. TAD has been slumping. Would you pick up Elias Diaz who will be home for the next six days or Danny Jansen?

3.After the weekend, have you changed your thoughts on Zack Littell? Would you pick him up and waive Jon Gray? The next few starts are not good for either pitcher.Another option is Lively because his next start is at CWS? Could any of them come off the streamer classification?

Thanks!!!!!

Couple q’s before line up lock;
Context: head to head, 5×5, ESPN, 12 team
1. Start 5 SP’s – currently have Skubal, Gilbert, Sonny Gray and Ober locked in. For my #5 I have Jared Jones (vs ChC).
Go with Jones or sub in Flaherty and his two step (@clev, vs Hou)?
Also have Reynaldo Lopez (vs Bos) but thinking he’s a distant 3rd choice in this case.
2. For utility this week,
-CES (3 vs Ariz, 3 @SF)
-Adell (3@Pitt, 4 vs KC)
-Chourio (3@KC, 4 vs SL)
-O’Hearn (2@Wash, 3 vs Ariz) 4 of 5 games facing right handed pitching
-Nevin (4 vs Tex, 3 @ Sea)
-Manzardo (3 vs Det, 4 @CWS)

Please rank top 3 from list above

Hi Grey,

I snagged Black right when I saw he was being brought up. SON has him only projected at 3 IP so his projections are -43.5 @PHI and vs. – 29.5 CIN.

In an NL-Only H2H with the following starts, would you go ahead and start him considering I already have several tough matchups for my staff from the following?

Steele – SD, @PIT
Sanchez – TOR
Reynaldo – BOS
King – LAD
Taillon – @PIT
Garrett – PHI (If activated this weekend)

Alonso owner says he’s not discounting his performance even though he’s ranked 440 in our player rating system. Does a pitcher have to get the Win in order to make the Top 100 Starts list? Was that always the case? I feel like we used to count all starts, regardless of the Win or not. I know the Win adds to the value of their performance, but is it really weighted that much?

I ask because I own Jared Jones, and was surprised that his gem didn’t make the list. Seems silly to omit amazing performances just because they didn’t get the Win. I just don’t see the argument that a 7IP, 0ER, 1 Hit, 0BB, 10K performance somehow wasn’t one of the best 100 starts just a month into the season.

Happy 26th Anniversary to what is likely the worst Fantasy Sonavabench of all time.

May 6th, 1998, the Cubs are facing the Houston Astros at Wrigley. It’s overcast with possible thunderstorms mid-afternoon. The Cubs are sending out a 20-year-old rookie pitcher with these career numbers.

4 Starts, W-L 2-2, 18.1 IP, 15 Hits, 12 BB, 25 Ks, 5.89 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, 12.3 Strikeouts per 9

Against first place Houston, featuring Silver Sluggers Craig Biggio and Moises Alou with Jeff Bagwell and Derek Bell, that would go on win 102 games.

His final line: 9 IP, 0 ER, 2 baserunners, 20 Ks (1 infield single and a HBP)

If you were playing fantasy baseball back then did you start him?
What would the Streamonator have said?
Maybe in a 15 team, NL only league.
Congratulations to Kerry Wood for one of the finest pitching efforts ever.

So Josh Lowe went 3 for 8 with two home runs for AAA Durham over the weekend. However Kevin Cash stated his results were “a step in the right direction” and gave no indication that the Rays were going to activate him off the IL any time soon.

This kind of drives me nuts about some MLB teams; I mean if the guy is healthy enough to hit 3 HRs on a rehab assignment (he had another one on April 19th for Durham) he should be healthy enough to hit HRs for the big club. The Twins used to do the same thing with Buxton, he’d go to St Paul on a rehab assignment and hit 4 home runs in a week but Minnesota would say “he’s not quite ready yet” (also silly since everyone knows he’s gonna hit the IL again soon so why not get that production at the MLB level while it’s available rather than down on the farm in St Paul?)

OK, rant over.

Would you trade $10 J Jones for $40 Tatis in an NL auction/keeper? Values go up by $5 each year, and top hitters tend to top out at $55/60 / top pitchers at $25-30, so maybe 4 more years of keeper viability for each. Cash in before hitters adjust/inevitable injury?

Civale had another awful start. That’s 18 earned runs in his last 13.2 IP (3 starts). Are you still holding or are you ready to move on? He looked good in his first three. BUT, he is doing the SAME thing as last year when we thought he was unlucky. Hits are up, HR allowed not good, K’s up.

He gets the white Sox next, but he gave up 6 earned runs in 4 innings against them the last time. Thanks

Does stashing Colby Mayo on this team make sense? OBP, SVHD Keep 13 forever with extra keeper for 1st half leader and for league champ. Currently in 4th. Was thinking of dropping Young b/c I am 3rd in SB without him. He only performs when he is on my bench lol. I like his leading off and R potential and I am currently at the bottom in R but I am hoping that improves once my team starts hitting. Or Littell but his ERA is lower than Ryan, Gausman and Kirby. He has more Ks than Gausman, Kirby, Burnes, and Turnbull. K/BB is higher than Ryan, Gausman, Burnes, Singer and Turnbull. Or I could drop Rooker. He, also only homers on my bench lol I have to carry that many RP to stay competitive in SVHD. I am currently in 5th with who I have.

Great weekend roundup!

I have a lot to 1Bs but no one is playing particularly well.

1) start CES/ Vinnie P or Manzardo in a weekly H2H?
2) start Adell or Evan Carter for the week?
3) which 3 RPs should I start for out of Jhoan Duran, Holmes, Helsley, Mason Miller, Munoz?

Thanks Grey!

1) Without knowing matchups, would roll Manzardo out there to see what happens.
2) Matchups and number of games? Lean Adell without knowing.
3) Also matchups and number of games. But, Duran, Helsley, and Munoz

Who is the drop to pick up Manzardo, if there is one?
Y. Diaz
Steer
Westburg
Black
Bogaerts
IF – Albies
4 OF – Nimmo, Julio, Profar, Pages
Util – Arozarena
BN – Churio
IL – Nolan Jones
NA – Jr. Caminero

2 SP – Buehler, Skubal
2 RP – Hader, Suarez
3 P Hoffman, Neris, Payamps
BN – Bryce Miller, Imanaga, Singer, Lodolo, Burnes, Lugo, Christian Scott
IL – Philips, deGrom, Fairbanks
NA – Skenes

Is is time to lose Churio? Flles like its him or Profar, but Jurickson has continued to hit….

Or leave Manzardo to someone else?

Thanks!

Quick update, saw that someone had dropped Thairo Estrada, so swapped Black for Thairo, if that changes the equation at all.

Its a Yahoo 10 team Roto 5×5 daily lineups.

Also, any thought on John Means Business and what looked like a legit return to the mount? Prefer him to any of the pitchers on my roster?

Thanks again!

Good morning! Thanks for entertaining me every morning! I picked manzardo but put Langford on dL and need another OF… so between manzardo and mike Busch which should I keep?
Also, someone offered me Wilyer Abreu for my pffttttfftt… my pitching is pretty solid… take it? He’s also got Westburg but doubt he’ll trade him

Get this … Christian Scott is not available in 2 Yahoo leagues I’m in as he’s only listed as P and they have only SP and RP slots. Wouldn’t a P be able to slot into either SP or RP? Nope!!

Starting a rumor the Yahoo is anti-Christian.

Olson has taken time away from baseball to star in a new sitcom along with JRod. It’s called Matt and Julio Down By The Schoolyard. They play ex-athletes trying their best to teach PE to under served youth. Wanda Sykes is excellent as the tough but fair principal with heart. Peacock, I think.

Ah Tuffy Rhodes. I do recall his auspicious Opening Day 30 years ago. But I didn’t know this: “he played thirteen years in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) in Japan. Rhodes is the all-time NPB home run leader among foreign-born players, and he is 13th overall with 464 home runs in Japan. He hit 55 home runs in 2001, tying the NPB single-season mark set by Sadaharu Oh in 1964.

1994 was my second year playing fantasy baseball, way back when we used USA Today for our stats. Still kinda miffed about the ‘94 Expos not getting to make a World Series run.

If there is a decent selection of C’s on the FA market, play the hot hand, so go with Wong.
Would drop Langford for Scott as a longer term play. This week matchup is rough, but he is going to be good this year.

This might not be the place to mention William F Buckley, but since YOU did: Buckley repeatedly insisted that whites in the South were “entitled to take such measures as are necessary to prevail, politically and culturally, where they do not prevail numerically,” because the white race was “for the time being, the advanced race.”

Buckley wrote numerous speeches for Joe McCarthy: ““McCarthyism is a movement around which men of good will and stern morality can close ranks”

Buckley also proposed that homosexuals with AIDS be tattooed.

Grey mentioned Buckley, I replied to Grey. Buckley, similar to JFK, had big reservations concerning federal action with regard to states rights and constitutional legitimacy.

Buckley admitted he was wrong with those concerns. “On the single issue of whether a Negro in Alabama should be deprived of the vote simply because of the color of his skin, it seems to me that there cannot be any argument: none moral, and certainly none constitutional.”

So, maybe educate yourself on the entirety of the matter.

Sorry Grey, for this distraction and I am done responding to the spy.

alecleamas

You’re being obtuse.

Buckley was conveniently admitting being wrong about an argument he never made. Any shift Buckley might have made was for mere political expediency while running for mayor of NYC. On almost every major policy issue of the postwar period Buckley pushed for the most retrograde, immoral, reprehensible and disastrous position. The last year of his life, with the convenience of decades of hindsight Buckley wriggled and squirmed and shifted just a bit. He knew his legacy was monstrously evil so he sought to remove a bit of the shitstain.

Kinda telling that just like Buckley and his McCarthist cohorts you dismiss people who disagree with you as spies.

Awesome, read!!!

a. Yesterday Feltner faced off with Falter!!! Oneil took Feltner deep so that Falter wouldn’t falter yet again.

b. Manoah’s slider was working somewhat. First batter though of course Err Bichette made an error!! Regardless the final scoring line, Toronto pitchers must wonder when will his erroneous ways end.

c. Chris Rock quote of the day for May 6, 2024

For me, anything goes when I pick up a mike. I’m not trying to hurt people – I try not to get too personal – but I look at myself as a reporter. If you can report on anything that has to do with pop culture, then why can’t I make jokes about it? Yes, it hurts. But I figure that laughter sometimes starts from pain. You might wince, but then I know that I’m doing my job. The only thing I can do wrong is not be funny.

Cheers,

Definitely possible. Tho given that he’s been mediocre (or worse) at stealing for 2+ years, not sure he gets an unlimited green light. Plus, they’ll probably still platoon him (even without any negative split.)

I’d take the Under on 25 SBs

The Marlins traded 2015’s 12th overall pick, Josh Naylor… AND Luis Castillo (Jared Cozart and Carter Capps) + Cash for …. Andrew Cashner.

Then they can’t get a Top 50 Prospect for Luis Arraez.

Surreal Grey, Surreal. The best is Mish said Bendix said he got an offer he couldn’t resist. Lol. Oh, and they’re covering some of his contract. What’s the logic behind this trade?

Remember, Avisail Garcia is still a Marlins.

After 31 years, it’s getting restless being a Marlins fan.
