[doing A Beautiful Mind math on the window of a Harvard dorm] Teoscar gets hurt…Chris Taylor does nothing going on three years…Enrique Hernandez does more than anyone thought possible for, like, five years, but it’s still really not much…Add in Muncy stinking up the joint…Throw in the Dodgers not really liking Hyeseong Kim even though they were the ones who signed him…Subtract seventeen starters to the IL, which isn’t important for this math problem, but I’m still factoring it in…How did they spend three billion on a team and have four starters and one is Landen Knack, again, irrelevant, but I’m factoring it in…Add in having a great catcher in Will Smith…No, the other Will Smith…No, not the other other Will Smith…Then DFA Austin Barnes…carry the catcher to the majors and the answer is…Dalton Shushing is promoted! Crap, it’s Dalton Rushing, I think I did the math wrong. So, the Dodgers called up Rushing or they’re trying to get into a fraternity. He had a line of 5/1/.308 in 107 ABs in Triple-A and he’s clearly ready. Ready to do what? I haven’t the foggiest idea. I am only being 15% sarcastic when I say I think the Dodgers promoted Dalton Rushing to showcase him for other teams for when they trade him in July for a starter. He has zero places to play unless Will Smith is hiding an injury we don’t know about. Or, knowing the Dodgers, they can just make one up for him. And if you’re wondering if the Dodgers can just DH Rushing and forgot who the Dodgers’ DH is, do you even watch baseball, bro? Anyway, here’s what else I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball:
Shohei Ohtani – 2-for-4, 2 runs and his 13th homer. Yeah, he’ll prolly go to the bench for Rushing. Absolutely! Great call, actually!
Max Muncy – 1-for-5, 3 RBIs and his 2nd homer, hitting .191. Max is the Municiest!
Andy Pages – 3-for-4 and his 7th homer, hitting .291. Was starting to get the feeling people were already moving on, so glad Pages hit this homer. Stave off the “drop Pages” questions another couple of days!
Hyeseong Kim – 2-for-2 and his 1st homer, hitting .360. Dodgers are so uncommitted to him, that he homered and they still removed him for Miguel Rojas. Oh, Rojas is not good, by the way.
Tyler Soderstrom – 2-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 10th homer. And you said he retired after April, silly you!
Jordan Westburg – Suffered a setback and now he might not be back until mid-June. Westburg better not be pulling a Kotchman. (Original glossary term!)
Gunnar Henderson – 4-for-9, 3 RBIs and his 6th homer, hitting .275. How about we end May with 12 homers, June with 22 homers and enter ASB with 28 homers? Can I make that request? Then I will stop being mean.
Cedric Mullins – 2-for-8, 4 RBIs and his 8th homer. Mullins means to think over or, archaic definition, is to act as a top 40 outfielder. Both accurate. Right now, at least.
Brooks Lee – 3-for-9 and his 4th homer, hitting .260. Fun fact! Brooks Lee is also known as Be Water.
Trevor Larnach – 3-for-9, 2 runs, 3 RBIs, and his 7th homer, hitting .250. Rise of the Larnach Monster. Well, Rise-ish, he’s in the top 20 for OF on the 7-day Player Rater. That’s schmotato stuff!
Willi Castro – 2-for-7, 3 runs, 1 RBI and a slam (2) and legs (2). Three legs if you include Willi.
Bailey Ober – 4 2/3 IP, 3 ER, ERA at 3.72. He will have an ERA under 4, but it’ll never get too low in the 3’s. He’ll keep floating it towards 4.00, only to about face when he gets very close. His promise to you is for you to feel like dropping him, but never making it make sense to drop him. The Ober Promise.
Kyle Manzardo – 1-for-3 and his 10th homer. This might be the 1st time I wasn’t sonavabenched by him all year. Instead, I benched Kurtz, who sonavabenched me on Tuesday. Yes, this is all about my stupid teams!
Gavin Williams – 5 IP, 2 ER, 5 baserunners (1 BB), 6 Ks, ERA at 4.29. His 10.9 K/9 is encouraging, his 5.1 BB/9 is goofy awful and his 1.5 HR/9 is just bad. If he can fix his control, he could be a big Buy Low, but yesterday was the first time he seemed to understand to stop throwing walks. Judging that as encouraging but not everything, and that’s my Gavin to Gavin coverage.
Jose Ramirez – 1-for-3, 2 runs, 3 RBIs and his 8th homer, and 2nd homer in two games. Yesterday, I said after his 7th homer he was now a HOFer for me. No longer! Eight homers is too much! Call it off! It’s gluttonous!
Logan Henderson – 5 IP, 2 ER, 5 baserunners, 7 Ks, ERA at 2.45. That’s 11 IP, 3 ER, 16 Ks through two starts. Will he stay for a third? Yes, grab him! Jose Quintana hit the IL with a shoulder issue. I don’t know why they can’t call up Misiorowski too, but I’m miserableski about it. Everything the Brewers touch with pitchers turns to gold. (If healthy, don’t bring up Woodruff’s eventual return.) In Triple-A, Henderson had a 12 K/9, 3.3 BB/9 and 2.40 ERA in 30 IP, and I already told you to pick him up. What are you waiting for?
Rhys Hoskins – 4-for-4, 2 runs, 5 RBIs and his 5th homer, hitting .292. Hoskins came a triple short of the cycle. That’s the worst John Buck Halloween costume.
Sal Frelick – 1-for-5 and his 2nd homer, hitting .271, as he hits leadoff and Brice Turang (0-for-3, 2 runs) moves down. Turang’s a speed-only guy or a mostly speed guy or a speed-first guy, at least! You know that, so of course they moved Turang down to the five hole! Marbles in managers’ brains be pinging around.
Bryce Miller – Hit the Ineffective List with elbow inflammation. When did he acquire that issue? After his first ineffective start or his fifth straight? Such a joke. Like we’re all a bunch of idiots. He can’t pitch currently and he now suddenly has an elbow issue. Sure.
Luis Castillo – 6 IP, 1 ER, 8 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 3.65. Never doubt what a Mariner pitcher can do. Well, except Miller. And Hancock. And Gilbert. Okay, so some M’s pitchers.
Paul Goldschmidt – 1-for-2 and his 5th homer, hitting .346. Au Shizz!
Aaron Judge – 2-for-4 and his 15th homer, hitting .412. But he didn’t force the pitcher to throw a homer to the hitters in front of him, so what good is he? (Yes, I know Grisham had a homer robbed. Still doesn’t count. I looked it up.)
Will Warren – 5 IP, 2 ER, 4 baserunners, 9 Ks, ERA at 4.61. Streamonator is meh on his next one, and I can’t say I fully trust him; the Ks are nice though, can’t lie or nose will grow.
Eduardo Rodriguez – 4 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 7.05. Commissioner of my fantasy league has stopped answering my emails asking if I can get credit for Eduardo Rodriguez’s great peripherals and have his ERA ignored.
Eugenio Suarez – 2-for-4, 2 runs, 3 RBIs and his 13th homer. Fun with numbers that only I like! Since last All-Star Break, Suarez has 33 homers; Juan Soto has 26; Kyle Schwarber has 34. Until next time!
Ketel Marte – 2-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 4th and 5th homer. Get drunk on Ketel, I slur at the police officer, showing him my H2H opponent’s team.
Shelby Miller – 1 IP, 1 ER, ERA at 1.45, and his 3rd save. You don’t get closer to giving up a lead and blowing a game than Miller did. It was him vs. Chris Koss, who will make you jump, jump, but Shelby locked it down. Miller does not seem long for the closer role, if being honest, though he’s likely the guy for now.
Jordan Hicks – 2 IP, 5 ER, ERA at 6.55. He’s suffering from Bryce Milleritis. Only cure is a visit to the doctor for a made-up injury.
Jung Hoo Lee – 1-for-5, 2 RBIs and his 6th homer, and 2nd homer in two games. Jung Hoo! “Lee, I believe.”
Ryan Pepiot – 6 IP, 3 ER, 7 baserunners, 7 Ks, ERA at 3.93. Opened his player page, saw a 7-something K/9, closed his player page. He’s fine for deeper leagues or if he can shave a half walk off his BB/9.
Chris Bassitt – 5 2/3 IP, 1 ER, 9 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 3.16. In direct comparison to Pepiot (since I just looked at his stats), Bassitt’s pitching much better. Not even close, tee bee aitch.
Yimi Garcia – 1 IP, 0 ER, ERA at 3.71, and his 3rd save. This save was mostly because Hoffman worked the previous games. Yimi’s next save will be because Hoffman has stunk for the last three weeks.
Michael Toglia – 2-for-4 and his 6th homer, hitting .215. A road homer? Warren J. Schaeffer working his magic! (I don’t know if there’s a J. but his name sounds like there should be a J.)
Wyatt Langford – 1-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 8th homer. This shot was an oppo taco, which in Texas comes without beans.
Adolis Garcia – 2-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and his 6th homer. He’s one hot streak away from having a much better season than I expected. And a cold streak away from having what I expected. A crossroads!
Patrick Corbin – 6 IP, 3 ER, 5 baserunners, 9 Ks, ERA at 3.35. Streamonator suggested you stream Corbin last night and next to his name it said, “No, seriously.” On a side note, do you know how bad a team has to be to suggest you start Patrick Corbin vs. it?
Spencer Strider – Showing diminished velocity in his simulated game. Emoji that widens its eyes and doesn’t know what to say.
Bryce Elder – 6 IP, 1 ER, 6 baserunners, 3 Ks, ERA at 4.50. When I googled Bryce Elder, Google said, “Are you sure you don’t mean Bryce Eldridge?” Hmm, bad sign.
Kyle Stowers – 3-for-4, and his 9th and 10th homer. Saying Stowers is due to regress while he continues to pound the ball makes one seem like a total arse. A donkey’s butt, a jackass’s ass. Butt, the stats are saying that.
Agustin Ramirez – 2-for-4 and his 5th homer. Him hitting DH and third is all you really should be worried about. Until that stops, you should stop asking about dropping him. For unstints, I picked up Goodman the 1st week of the season because he was hitting cleanup and DH. I have not considered dropping him since. I can say this so many times, but you will still ask about picking your catcher scab, so ignore all of this.
Ryan Weathers – 5 IP, 1 ER, 3 baserunners, 5 Ks as he was activated. Sure, pick him up! I don’t hate it or him! Do it, love it, enjoy it, caress it! Be one with your pick up. I will only say, you don’t just come back from the issue (forearm) he had and stay healthy the rest of the year.
Seiya Suzuki – 1-for-4 and his 11th homer. Seiya ball!
Maikel Garcia – 2-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 5th homer, hitting .300 in May with six steals, hitting .297 on the season, so ‘natch that, baby. Preseason sleeper!
Michael Lorenzen – 7 1/3 IP, 4 ER, 8 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 3.76. He got into the 8th inning on only 84 pitches. In today’s game, that alone is momentous. We need to talk about the Royals’ pitching lab. Not today, I’m tired and this is already over 2000 words.
Isaac Paredes – 1-for-3 and his 6th homer. Seeing him in front of Christian Walker in the lineup had me thinking, had anyone retired from baseball but kept playing like Walker? I’m a trivia buff and curious.
Clay Holmes – 6 IP, 4 ER, 8 baserunners, 4 Ks, ERA at 3.14. He was the tough luck loser. Which is different than telling someone, “Tough luck, loser,” but sounds very similar.
Oneil Cruz – Missed his 4th consecutive game and only six more for the free pass to the IL.
Nick Lodolo – 5 1/3 IP, 3 ER, 9 baserunners, 4 Ks, ERA at 3.42. This was against the White Sux, so he was actually charged with five runs.
Spencer Steer – 2-for-4 and his 4th homer. Remembering how excited I was by all things Reds in the preseason and wondering why I was cursed.
Michael A. Taylor – 1-for-3 and his 2nd homer. His entire career is more impressive when you realize under his uniform Michael Ann Taylor wears a pants suit.
Xander Bogaerts – 1-for-4, 2 runs, 3 RBIs and his 3rd homer. Not to take anything away from him (which is what I say right before doing that), but it was off Kyle Hendricks.
Taylor Ward – 1-for-4 and his 10th homer, and 2nd homer in three games. He’s two homers in this month away from having six homers each of the first two months. That’s a 36-homer pace.
Tanner Houck – Hit the Ineffective List with “Yo, my shizz is very broke.” Red Sox said officially it was “right flexor pronator strain,” which is just a Mad Libs of an injury. He [verb] his [which side] [flexor or plexor] [pronator or purpnator] with a [strain or tear]. Laughing at the former Mets’ GM who was fined and suspended for making up injuries, as if he was the only one.
Alex Bregman – 3-for-4 and his 11th homer, and 2nd homer in as many games as he reminded his past manager, AJ Hinch, what he can do, and showed his future manager, AJ Hinch, what to expect.
Hunter Dobbins – 5 IP, 5 ER, ERA at 3.90. “Hand it over.” That’s Hunter Greene and Hunter Brown pulling Dobbins’s Hunter card. If you want to check Streamonator for Dobbins go for it, I’m not picking him up.
Tarik Skubal – 6 1/3 IP, 5 ER, 8 baserunners, 11 Ks, ERA at 2.67. “Best” pitcher in baseball. Ugh, how do I delete scare quotes? Siri?
Riley Greene – 3-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and his 10th homer, and 2nd homer in a week. If you ever find yourself thinking, “I wish Riley Greene was better,” find a deeper league.
Sonny Gray – 3 2/3 IP, 7 ER, ERA at 4.50. Sonny Gray, you are as oxymoronic-sounding as Grey Albright and as devilishly handsome and as reliable usually, so what happened? Well, let’s start with the mustache–Oh, you Sonny, not me Grey? Um, it was a bad matchup. Let’s move on!
Masyn Winn – 5-for-8, 3 runs, 3 RBIs and his 5th homer, 2nd homer in as many days. Also, in this game, Alec Burleson (3-for-6, 4 RBIs) hit his 3rd homer as he actually played for once.
Lars Nootbaar – 3-for-8, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and his 7th homer, and 2nd homer in four games. Noot-Noot-chugga-chugga!
Jesus Luzardo – 7 IP, 1 ER, 7 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 2.00 vs. Erick Fedde – 5 2/3 IP, 0 ER, 7 baserunners (4 BBs), 3 Ks, ERA at 3.44. This matchup was billed as, “Jesus/Erick, or what Liane Cartman says to her son.”
Aaron Nola – 3 2/3 IP, 9 ER, ERA at 6.16. Told you not to draft him, told you if you did draft him to drop him, and yet I still see him over 50% rostered.
Alec Bohm – 1-for-5 and his 2nd homer. Also, in this game, Kyle Schwarber (1-for-8) hit his 15th. A Bohm buh buh Schwarbomb!
Jordan Romano – 1 IP, 0 ER, 3 Ks, ERA at 8.22. I’m glad I picked up Romano like an Italian standing over a plate of pasta, and I can’t believe it hasn’t blown up in my face yet, but — again with some stank — BUT! it is extremely crazy that Alvarado (1/3 IP, 0 ER, ERA at 2.79) is now randomly a LOOGY in the 8th.
Matt Carpenter – Retired from baseball. He said he wanted to play still but a job never materialized. Geez, this Carpenter guy is a real martyr.
Drop Baz for Boyd
Need to activate Yordan and J Lowe off the IL soon so gotta drop 2…thanks so much!!
Lineup:
C – Realmuto

2B – McLain

OF – Santander
OF – JH Lee
UTIL – Soderstrom
Bench: Kurtz, Royce Lewis, Austin Hays, Cam Smith
Key notes:
I can keep Cam next year at 20th Rd value so I’m hesitant there.
How much longer do I give Santander!? He’s tempting to drop at this point. Thanks again!!
It is pretty damn impressive how many of these guys are studs 2 years in the League.

It’s a sin to make mention of Jordan Walker around here

From your lips to God’s ear. Traded for Santander and Ward a few weeks ago seeking that sweet regression.
Can you believe Emilio Boneface still plays in the Mexican league?
Emily Boneface? Damn…If only he played as great as his name
Lol. Emilio Bonifacio lol. That’s amazing.
Pick up Brandon Lowe and drop Michael Buschor hold – thanks Grey
Sure, go with Lowe
12 team roto, with OBP. Looks like Addison Barger may be worth a pickup, at least his Statcast numbers seems to say so. I know it is a small sample, but a 95+EV, 116.5 Max EV, 57% Hard Hit rate are hard to ignore. I’ve been holding onto Rengifo with the hope he might steal again, but the Angels are not running and he is not hitting or playing every day. Dump him for Barger?

Saw a bread crumb in a player update but doesn’t seem like it’s happening tonight.
Separately, who are some players ok IL right now that you are stashing. I’ve been eyeing Eury Perez for instance.
Lastly, Zebby coming up Sunday, you expect him to be a top ___ pitcher?

The Orioles dropped both games of a doubleheader against Minnesota yesterday, falling 11 games under .500. They kept the bad times rolling with another loss this afternoon, getting to 12 games under. It’s the nadir of their season so far, one from which they’ll have a difficult time coming back.
As of last week, general manager Mike Elias wasn’t interested in contemplating the possibility that they’ll be deadline sellers. “We’ve got a record that’s not reflective of who we believe our team is, that I don’t think anyone thought our team was, and we’re digging a hole out of the standings right now because of that,” the GM told Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman of The New York Post on their podcast last Tuesday. “Hopefully, we claw back a lot of real estate in the standings and we get back in the mode that we fully expected to be. That is my focus right now. If it somehow evolves otherwise, I’ll address it then.”
The team has dropped six of eight games since those comments.
——–
I want the drugs he is on.
Stowers and Norby are on a team 10 games under .500, when they could be 12 games if they stayed in BAL. The Marlins (!!!!) have also scored 17 more runs than the Orioles and have a better run diff.
Im sure he will take another hit of the drugs and go, “well if the Twins can win that many in a row, we can win 20 in a row!” and does nothing.
O’s coming into this year needed pitching, it was obvious to everyone…their offense has underperformed, but they’re not good because they have no pitching
…..but with the right drugs, you can believe a bunch of 35+ guys will carry you, Morton, Sugano, and Gibson.
Guys always hurt wont be, Tyler Wells, GRod, Bradish, Kremer (?).
And Eflin and Povich will be 1&2 for the Cy Young.
….with the right drugs.
Otherwise Elias is apparently legally blind.
HAHA, give me some of the “Charlie Morton can be solid in 2025” drugs
Elias has to go or the Os are doomed. People are trying to blame Hyde’s robo managing but he’s got nothing to work with.
HeyGrey-
I’m currently rostering:
-Bryce Miller
-Spencer Arrighetti
-Jared Jones
They be injured. I’m also holding Acuna, so I only have 1 available IL slot. Who should I drop if/when I need to pick up a starter?

All of them except Acuna? Lose Jones

Hi Grey – enjoyed the recap!
1) I know you’ve got lot of Grisham questions but I’m in a keeper and wondering if you think he could sustain top 100 value? Do you like any of Kerry Carp m, Victor Scott II or Nootbar better or hold Grisham?
2) how would you rank the top 3 from the following arms: Lodolo, Lugo, Pfaadt, Baz, Gonsolin, Liberatore, Logan Henderson, Olson and AJSS.
3) I have Witt, Abrams and Neto and obviously love all 3 but can only play 2 on a weekly basis. It’s a 10 player keeper per team so they make my top 10 but do you think any of them ever move off the SS position? Would you hold or trade one of them?
Thanks!
LG
1. sure, but Carp is better 2. Lib, Pfaadt, Gonsolin 3. Trade
Thanks!
No problem
skubal or ragans

Did you see the Correa-Buxton collision? Talk about smashing a china plate against a crystal glass.
Hahaha
12 team H2H keeper. Do you like Eury Perez or Jeremy Pena/Pepiot? Thank you.
Pena
@Grey: weekly roto redraft, who do you like between logan and zebby this season?
Logan
Sir Grey – SP is a wreck – Dyno or not I need h.e.l.p.! Grabbed Lodolo, Giolito, Hog and ASS to fill spots over the last few weeks hoping to see something. Lost ass for Dalton (needs some Road House round kicks!) and thinking I need to give up on Hog like now… (my ILs are McClannnannan, Kirby, Eury, JJones, Buehler and mind as well be Cease and Burnes – meh)
So who to grab & long term is a consideration if it helps = Sugano, Abbott, Kolak, SSmith or any low level sleeper guys you dig??? Open to a quick rank or whatever you can offer!
Thanks as always kind sir! Cheers~
Abbott, Logan Henderson, Sugano
Logan, Zebby
Cool cool – In MN so Zebby is gone… Logan is there as well as the other 2 so that leaves me to ask is abbott 1st and then LH and Sug?
‘Preciate cha!
No problem
Then ASS-man gets good outing of course – albeit the Naghts!

A little late this week. Good to see Ramirez join the party. Nice gains for Eovaldi, Wheeler, and Skubal. Don’t know if Rudy’s recent tweak to methodology helped pitchers more.
Love this! Rudy tweaked catchers I think
Like catchers haven’t got enough problems.
Haha
Royce looks like he is continuing his three year downward trajectory in EV numbers, hasn’t hit a home run since Sept 1 2024, and now sits every three or four games.
Is there any point to stashing this guy on the bench in 12 teamers anymore?
Meh, vs. who
Like Bryce, Baz has something wrong with him but Tampa Bay keeps sending him out there. WTF are they playing for?
Yeah I hear ya
Have an open roster spot after dropping Sasaki. Who do you prefer as a pickup: Sugano, Henderson, or Sears? Also, would you drop Pfaadt for one of the three above as well?
10 team H2H weekly
Thanks!

@Grey: weekly roto. who do you start at 3b next week?

Catcher question. How would you rank Sal perez, Goodman and Herrera rest of season. Shallow 10 team Avg, HR ,RBI, SB, Runs,OPS league
You did
Would you trade Judge and Volpe for Elly and Chourio in a three year keeper league?
Sure
Standard ROTO ROS: Jeremy Pena or Masyn Wynn?
Pena
I traded Tatis and Yordan for Soto and JRam. Three year keeper league. I won that trade right???
Sounds decent
16 team, h2h weekly, 11 x 11 scoring including holds, saves, QS, daily lineups.
Currently have Bautista, Walker, F. Cruz, Pressly in our 2 P, 2 RP spots. Have J. Martinez on the IL.
Worth dropping any of the above for Romano, Vest, C Matin, Santillian, D Santana, Yimi, Varland (SP eligible to fill one of 5 SP spots)?
Also, thoughts on J. Pena at SS? Have CJ Abrams at SS and Ozuna in Util, so Pena is always on the bench…worth holding a bench bat like that, as the only bench bat, or pickup another pitcher?
thanks!
Pressly for Romano
Pena’s been great, prolly should’ve been playing him over CJ

Can I rant …
MLB needs to get rid of the KZone on all MLB telecasts.., it’s driving peeps crazy … what exactly is it there for it serves no purpose
Haha, I don’t know
have shares of estevez, jansen and chapman this year. haven’t owned them much if at all over the years and it hasn’t been bad. one observation though. if you bring them in to a clean inning 3 out save situation they’re almost always pretty good. any other variation, middle inning, before the 9th, tie game, forget about it. they’re will be blood.
how your teams, doing albright. the two i know about are a tail of two cities. mine are boit meh in nfbc. the boy has a good one. my fcl team is solid. still probably a month out from feeling like a solid handle on how the future of all the teams look.
unpleasant of the nats to sit crews on a short schedule day. where an i going to get my 0-3 with 2ks?
I’m in 2nd place in Tout Wars, middle-ish in LABR, top 3 in RCL, ok in a Gladiator, the two NFBCs we’re in that you know about…so decent enough, I have Elly everywhere (good) or Gunnar (not good) and that’s sorta been the split on my teams…
i’m at that point of lamenting a few early drops on guys i liked and drafted and then gave up on. romano, smith shovver to name a couple.
ASS indeed! I kid, I think ASS is gonna end up being that after he gets done with some easy matchups — and who knows on Romano
i’ve always liked ASS…
Hehe
A Touki for the season
Assuming Butler doesn’t turn it around would you swap him soon for any of
Pages
Sowers
Buxton
Ramos
Carpenter
Mullins
Gurriel
By when? June? Sure
Ok sounds good. I’ll be patient
Morning Grey, in a vacuum can you rank these pitchers for me? S Gray, Lugo, Ober, Lodolo, Abbott
Lugo, Abbott, Gray, Ober
I’d go Gray, Ober, Lugo, Abbott personally…
Grey, where would Framber be on this list?
1st
Is T. Scott LAD worth holding?
One save and 2 innings a week for the last 3 weeks.
Yes
Ok, thanks.
No problem
Durbin has been pretty bad lately. Drop him for Schneeman, Colt, or Kiner-Falefa?
Sure, Schneemann
OPS weekly H2H. Give Tork & Buxton for Naylor?
Naylor, it’s fair
Pierce Johnson or Jordan Romano in a H2H points league giving 4 for saves, 2 for holds, and .8 for K’s??
Romano
Would you take Romano over either of the “options” the Cubs have to offer? Hodge or Pressly?
Yes, Romano
12 team mixed 5×5. trade Schwaber for Skubal and Doyle?
Sure
Would you start Sugano vs Twins today
No
Would you drop Stott for Winn
No
Good Day Fine Sir, Grey,
Thank you for the kiss of death, “Good luck with Pfaadt!”
Finger typing from the Salinas Valley Fair in King City, this is where the Angels management came up with the ‘legal’ new name?….
A). Drop M Myer for Henderson?
B). More upside, Crews or Ward?
C). No C!
D). If you have the IL slot, would you hang onto Westburg? Same for Tovar, although it sounds like he’ll be playing hurt?
Thank you, my way better half just bought an $8 breakfast burrito that was smaller than Taco Bell’s $1 breakfast burrito?????, it’s a lot easier to budget in your gifted and lucky knowledge ?. Have a great day.
CCC
Haha, King City!
A. Yes B. Ward D. I’d hang onto them if I had IL room, sure
Breakfast burrito does sound good tho, now I’m hungry
Come on up, corn dogs and beer by the time you get here ?. One more,
E). Holiday or Lawlar? Or maybe, Be Water?
Ha, thanks! I kinda like Lee, Holliday maybe too
Pick 2 to start at 2B and MI for ROS:
Semien, B. Lowe, Norby, Luis Garcia
Garcia, Semien
Do you like Baty over Josh H Smith?
Sure
Awesome podcast Grey. Always a good laugh.
How would you rank Ranger Suarez, Weathers, Henderson and Abbott rest of season in a k/9, QS,W, ERA, SV,WHIP league?
Thanks! Abbott, Ranger, Logan
Hi Grey. If I pick up Romano for Alvarado, the chances of Alvarado going back to closer increase astronomically. Do it anyway?
It is SO unfortunate that Michael Busch’s last name is not Hunt.
Haha, yeah
My IL spots are full. Is Bryce Miller a hold in 10 team leagues?
No
Minnesota’s SWR just got sent down. Who’s your guess to replace him, Festa or Zebby, or ‘other’?
I guess Festa, but I don’t know for sure
The answer to the aforementioned is Kody Funderburk or ‘other’.
Ha
Looks like Zebby is starting Sunday v Milw
Nice!
Hey Grey! Looking at a trade. My M. Olson and PCA for his Schwarbs and Degrom. Which side? Thanks!
Olson = degrom
PCA = Schwarbs
Needs?
Need power, AVG and pitching. Worried PCA may tank, but idk. 12 TM H2H OBP/QS league.
I’d be more worried deGrom will miss 3 months
Sounds like a dumb question, but W. Abreu or M. Olson ROS?
Olson
Drop Griffin Canning for Logan Henderson or Hold?
thank you, Grey
Sounds fine
good morning Grey
I have been remaining patient with Anthony Santander. Despite passing on hot bat after hot bat as he does nothing in my lineup. I know he’s been a consistent 40 home run guy. Do I stick with him?
In lieu of who
Hot bat of the week.. no one in particular.
Is it worth to add Dalton Rushing or wait to see if he´s going to play?
dont think you can wait too long as others will scoop him up as soon as he starts hitting (if not before).
Why not grab him where u can and then put him on bench as desired until u see what happens?? I managed to get him yesterday on almost all my teams for this reason!
I don’t know anything about your league
Only 1 catcher, 16 teams, I have Yainer as my catcher.
Time to drop Sonny Gray or hold?
Hold
Which stats are calling for Stower’s regression? I don’t know if statcast is predictive but Stower’s statcast is way redder than Pages for whatever that’s worth.
I just went over him yesterday
Saves Only
Please rank the top 3 of the following closer options:
Doval, Santana, Williams, Shelby, Yates, Yimi
Thank you
Shelby, Devin, Yimi
Hoskins, Crews, Aranda, or Tovar for a bench bat?
Crews
10 team weekly H2H w/ OPS. Contemplating offering Yordan and Torkelson for Vlad.
Keep 3 for 1 year. I kept Yordan coming into the year, so he is rosterable only through 2025. I’m pretty set with keeper options for next year (Shohei, Jackson Merrill, Langford, Oneil Cruz), so Vlad would possibly be a keeper, but I have other options, so that’s not what’s driving the issue. Not sure I believe in Tork… and I’m pretty set out OF (Yordan, Merrill, Langford, Buxton, Acuna coming back, and will probably pounce on or stash Roman Anthony eventually), and my Util spot is full with Ohtani. Could use the upgrade at 1b, but I’m admittedly a Yordan stan as well.
Thoughts?
Sounds fair, I’d take Yordan
Is Westburg worth holding onto? I have 4 IL (Snell, McClanahan, Teo, Westburg) and only two IL spots.
I have Maikel @ 2B, Suarez @ C and Machado @ 3B so I have been fine at those positions Westburg is eligible, but no 2B/3B to back up my starters if I drop him.
Nope
Drop Sasaki for Logan Henderson?
Sure
guess u are giving up on Roki or must really love Henderson??
Roki, who can’t hit the broad side of a barn and is on the IL? Yeah, give up on him
Thanks again for all your notes and answers. Couple pitching questions:
1 – Should I drop Gonsolin or Gavin Williams to activate Ryan Weathers, or cut Weathers?
2 – Who is the best add for a save-only league ROS: Romano, Ryan Walker, Robert Garcia, Santillan, Jax, Santana, Ginkel, Mason Montgomery
Open to all opinions on this. Newish to dynasty. 18 teamer 6×6.
Current 3B McMahon and pitching is solid but thin.
I get Sonny Gray and E. Suarez
I give Arraez and C. Williams (TB)
He wanted De Paula and I balked. I have a couple 2B fillins so not an issue.
I have lots of redraft experience but limited prospect experience. I know I am getting older guys and Gray also might retire so really struggling on valuation.
I don’t love it
Haha that is where I am and I just cant tell if unreasonable, bad valuation, or on the money.
I will just reply with no context, “well Grey said he doesn’t love it”.
that’s what I would do
Grabbed Ben Rice early in the season but he’s now sitting out against most lefties and even the occasional righty. Stanton isn’t even back yet. Wondering if it’s time to start looking for other 1B options in 12-team roto — would you replace him with any of Hoskins, Toglia, Steer, or Yandy Diaz? Who would be your top couple choices on that list? Thanks!
Hoskins
10 team weekly H2H w/ OPS:
Goodman or Langeliers?
Goodman
In one league I’m out of IL spots, and no one is all that close to being activated. Is Jared Jones worth using a bench spot for?
No
Morning, Grey! Who’s the drop in a QS league: Baz, Tyler Megill, or Max Meyer? I know you mentioned dropping Baz yesterday
Meyer
Kim Hye-seong what do you think so far?
His power in the minors a fluke or did Dodgers tinker?
He’s not even playing after he homers and he’s hitting 9th
Tough news on Westburg- I truly believed he would make a great leap this year.
Romano looking like a must add, ask questions later type situation.
Could you answer the below for a 10 team roto OBP?
Josh H Smith or Masyn Winn at SS ROS?
Christian Walker or Aranda ROS?
Thank you as always.
Winn
Aranda
I know catcher doesn’t really matter that much, but Dingler, Narvaez, Keibert Ruiz, Kirk or Heim over Bo Naylor in a keeper?
Heim
Also curious if you would want Brazoban, Okert, Randy Rodriguez, or Tyler Rogers over my sad collection of relievers: Erceg, Yates, Pomeranz, Shelby Miller or Robert Garcia. It’s a SV+HLD league but saves count for double.
Thanks for your help!
Add Yimi Garcia to the list of possible adds
Hold
Any changes I should make in a keeper league?
Could add Larnach, Jake Meyers, Gavin Sheets, Baty, Toglia
Could drop Kjerstad, Willi Castro, McKinstry, Hays, Steer
McKinstry for Larnach
For QS and k’s best streamer
horton vs white sox
singer vs guardians
Pallante at royals
patrick vs twins
kolek vs mariners
Horton
Morning & Happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!
Trying to figure out who’s the sweet add vs. who’s gonna break & crumble to the waiver wire:
Thank you as always and what’s your favorite cookie?
What a wonderful day! Forget May…Romano…Over Kahnle…can lose Friedl
Jackson Holliday or Mason Wynn?
5×5 OBP H2H
Also, do you believe Kershaw is must add for 12s?
Winn
No
“I can say this so many times, but you will still ask about picking your catcher scab, so ignore all of this.”
this is a personal attack.
Ha
UTIL bat… would you pick up C Walker or JH Lee?
Lee
Did a pretty good job with my SP rotation but hurting on the offensive side, specifically 1B.
Would you move Rodon/Gore for Freeman/Rasmussen ?
Freeman
16 team keeper league, yahoo, roto, 5×5.
should I give up Michael Harris to get Tyler Soderstrom?
Sure
Don’t look now, but it looks like the O’s are challenging the ChiSox for the AL’s Worst. ChiSox Run diff -29, Orioles -70 .ChiSox Pitching 3.96 ERA >>>>>>>>>O’s Pitching 5.37 ERA. Not sure the O’s lineup is any better than the WS. O’s have produced 156 runs while ChiSox 148.
Brutal
Nothing I saw with Skubal was concerning….just some good ABs and a shitty reliever.
But this is why I HATE when they bring a sp out for the 7th…I found myself wishing he was LESS efficient. haha
Skubal has like 61ks to 1 walk in last 4 starts..2 of those runs were from Holton who was throwing meatballs in relief…one was a HR from Bregman who needs a drug test.
last 6 starts I should say
Think he’ll be ok
He was excellent. Some nice AB’s and perfectly timed hits. Horton was trash and destroyed Skubal’s day, and took away a win. Skubal is the best SP in baseball this morning.
Yeah, I hear ya
Drop 1: Cronenworth, Polanco or Manzardo. H2H points
Manzardo
Hi Grey,
For 12 team league, which of the below trades which would you prefer
1. Trade Olson for Rodon
2. Trade Olson for Robbie Ray
3. Trade Olson for Framber Valdez
4. Trade Olson for Joe Ryan
5. Trade Vientos for Pivetta
Framber
Is pasquantino worth ditching or hold? Have Ben rice at 1st also
Ditching for what
Ditching for a closer/reliever in a roto keeper for saves or holds
Still feel the same about trading away Tatis? That he may be headed for injury?
Think he has one year over 500 ABs, so it’s worth exploring
Chris Koss comment: nicely played!
Reports appear to indicate that Giancarlo Stanton will be activated as soon as he’s eligible on May 27. That’s less than two weeks away. With prorated, potential 40 HR power basically nonexistent on the waiver wire in 12t and deeper leagues, why hasn’t the stash drum beat in the fantasy community been much, much louder?
Because everyone in the fantasy community has rostered Stanton at least once. We know how this ends.
Thanks, guys
I’ve got him stashed in an uncluttered IL spot, one of two. Someone had to be holding that lottery ticket for August-September 2024.
Haha
Agree with Steve
“had anyone retired from baseball but kept playing like Walker? I’m a trivia buff and curious.”
Chris Davis
Ha, nicely played
He’s the bizzaro Bobby Bonilla who got paid to retire.
Haha
Joc Pederson fits that bill, too.
Grey!!!!
Awesome!
Rodney Dangerfield quote of the day for May 13, 2025
You kiddin’ I know I got no sex life. In our house we have the mirror over the dog’s bed.
Cheers,
Ante
Thanks!
