Philadelphia Phillies is such a funny name. It’s like the California Calis or the New York Yorkies. How’d that get through 150 years of name changes to get to us? ACKSUALLY, I wonder if it’s because it’s such an old name it’s how it’s here. The name is from 1883, and back then people would be like, “You got gout,” and it was just them taking “You” and adding it into “got.” Any hoo! Cristopher Sanchez (8 IP, 1 ER, 5 hits, zero walks, 4 Ks, ERA at 2.87) of the Philly Phillies had a marvelous marvel of a game against the Miami Mamies. If you remember, the Sanchez Sanchezes were the first pitcher of his kind to have forearm soreness and rebuild like an admiral Admiral. He’s now sitting on 9.4 K/9, 2.9 BB/9, 3.07 xFIP and a 55.7% ground ball rate, which is incredibly incredible. His fast fastball has rebounded, after his return, and he throws primarily a sinking sinker. The Philly Phillies have one of the best rotating rotations, and Sanchez is right there in the mix as their second best, behind the first guy behind the wheel, Wheeler. Anyways! Anyway, here’s what else I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball:
Kyle Schwarber – 1-for-3 and his 23rd homer. You think he’s great? Nay, as Fonzie’s horse said, you think Schwarber is excellent! Yes, you do. Okay, keep that in mind for when you get to Eugenio Suarez’s blurb. Yeah, you got homework!
Edward Cabrera – 6 1/3 IP, 1 ER, 5 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 3.81. EdCab fighting against the Ubers and the gig economy to make something of himself. What is that something? Let’s see! 9.6 K/9, 4 BB/9, 3.80 xFIP, low ground balls (not literally) and giving up too many homers. Wouldn’t say straight Streamonator, but I’m not sure I’d just start him every time out either.
Andrew Heaney – 4 IP, 7 ER, ERA at 3.94. I was so close to streaming him. Holy crap, I avoided that disaster like my name was Mr. I’ve Streamed Heaney So Many Times In Past Years I Know This Won’t End Well.
Nick Gonzales – 4-for-10, 2 runs and his 2nd homer. He hit leadoff in the 1st game and cleanup in the 2nd game. See, that’s by design. Pirates have built an offense where he could be hitting leadoff and cleanup in different games or the same game and no one would know the difference.
Andrew McCutchen – 4-for-8, 2 RBIs and his 8th homer, hitting .271. McClutchin’ His Knees has tied Grounder Henderson in homers. Haha, kill me now.
Paul Skenes – 6 IP, 2 ER, 8 baserunners (5 BBs), 9 Ks, ERA at 1.85. Pretty uncharacteristically wild, but maybe he was mad because the umps really sucked. Bring on the robots!
Zach McKinstry – 2-for-8 and his 4th homer. Bobbing head to The Cure at the McKinstry of Sound, “Rad.”
Byron Buxton – 3-for-6, and his 14th homer and 15th, and 3rd and 4th homer in as many games. MVP (of my worst fantasy team)! MVP (of my worst fantasy team)! MVP (of my worst fantasy team)! The chants grew (in my head).
Kody Clemens – 2-for-5, 2 RBIs and his 7th homer, hitting .219. His father was better at hitting things with a bat when facing Mike Piazza.
Ryan Jeffers – 2-for-5, 2 runs, 4 RBIs and his 5th homer, hitting .255. This was his 2nd homer since May 18th. Gemini runs from May 21st to June 20th and is represented by Twins, which is who Jeffers plays for, but you should have more homers than when you’re counting freakin’ twins on two fingers!
Nick Martinez – 2 2/3 IP, 7 ER, ERA at 4.55. The Nickmare on Pete Rose Way.
Gavin Lux – 1-for-3, 2 RBIs and his 3rd homer. “I told you he’d be great!” That’s a prospect writer in 2018.
Willson Contreras – 2-for-7, 5 RBIs and his 10th homer. Checking in on the Contreras Brother Battle (CBB) on the Player Rater and it’s easily the older brother so far. Not even close. Mother Contreras only needs to buy one Xmas gift this year the way it’s going. May I suggest a framed Flying Molina Brothers poster from when they were doing that Cirque de Soleil show in Vegas called Catch.
Alec Burleson – 4-for-8, 2 runs, 3 RBIs. Took until June, but Burleson is finally starting to resemble the guy I was excited about drafting in March. Roughly two weeks after I dropped him just about everywhere.
Nolan Arenado – 3-for-9, 2 RBIs and his 9th homer. At an auction, I acquired Howard Hughes’s longest pinkie nail. Come here, I’ll show you. I have it teetering over by this open window–NOOOOO!!! Torenado!
Lars Nootbaar – 3-for-7, 2 RBIs and his 9th homer. Sometimes you feel like a Noot…
Michael McGreevy – 5 IP, 1 ER, 4 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 2.70, as he was recalled. I might be hungry but I just thought of a biscuit at McDonald’s with some McGravy. Yum! Any hoo! This was a spot start, so, yeah, I don’t have a ton of excitement in redraft leagues.
Erick Fedde – 5 IP, 1 ER, 8 baserunners, 4 Ks, ERA at 3.54. Streamonator hates his next one, and I see no reason why he should exceed expectations.
Andrew Benintendi – 4-for-9, 2 runs, 4 RBIs and his 7th homer, hitting .246. Wonder if he’ll be the next big name moved in a trade. Can you imagine? After the White Sox started building around him in 2023 to just give it away after all they’ve accomplished.
Charlie Morton – 6 IP, 1 ER, 6 hits, zero walks, 7 Ks, ERA at 5.64, but four of his last five starts have been solid and three have been Quality. Can’t say I fully trust him, but he has been pitching like vintage Chazz Saltinteri.
Colton Cowser – 2-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 6th homer, 3rd homer in three games, and maybe he’ll be in this afternoon’s Buy column, if he’s rostered in less than 50% of leagues and makes the cut-off. You can hardly wait. No, you!
Drew Rasmussen – 5 1/3 IP, 2 ER, 7 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 2.61. Someone questioned me why Rasmussen would be shut down early this year, and I don’t know. Maybe he won’t. He hasn’t thrown more than 45 IP in three years and he three elbow surgeries, so I’m guessing he will.
Xander Bogaerts – 4-for-4, 3 runs and his 4th homer. He must’ve heard people talking this week how the Red Sox “screwed up” losing Mookie and Devers, but at least they were “smart” to let Bogaerts walk. Or Bogaerts had his one good game per month. One of those two options.
Fernando Tatis Jr. – 0-for-4. HBP in the 9th inning and seemed to be in pain. Padres and Dodgers is like one of those old school feuds where you really sense they hate each other and there’s no kayfabe. Robert Suarez even hit Ohtani the next inning, and Ohtani was just like, “Whatever, stay in the dugout, I’m good.” We’ll hear more today about Tatis, and whether he’s hurt. You might want to join some friends in a prayer hexagon.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto – 6 1/3 IP, 3 ER, 7 hits, zero walks, 5 Ks, ERA at 2.76. Some pitchers watch their ERAs go down to 3.50, then bounce up to 4, then down then up, and always hover in there. Then you have Yoshi who seems to do that, but between 2.50 and 3.00. I like this one better.
Jacob Lopez – 6 IP, 1 ER, 7 baserunners, 9 Ks, ERA at 4.25. [whispering] This guy’s stats look really solid. His walks are still a mess, but his Ks? Oh, they’re at 12.3 K/9 in 36 IP. I can’t pull the trigger in 12-team mixed leagues or shallower. There, still Streamonator, but he seems well within acquiring for deeper leagues, and might move to shallower leagues soon.
Nick Kurtz – 1-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 9th homer, and 2nd homer in two games, third homer in four games, 4th homer in five games, and his 2nd walk-off homer in four games. All Kurtz does is putz the hurtz on the Astros! Did I do something?
Jacob Wilson – 2-for-5, and his 9th homer, hitting .359. It’s good to have the real Luis Arraez back. Call him Luis Arealz. So, that’s Kurtz and Arealz!
Lawrence Butler – 2-for-5 and his 11th homer. I still feel bad for Oakland, but the A’s are fun.
Willie MacIver – 2-for-3 and a slam (1) and legs (2). Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner! The most random Slam & Legs. No one is beating this one this year. Better luck in 2026. MacIver whittled a mannequin leg into a bat and got it done! Congrats, man! That’s all you get.
Victor Caratini – 1-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 5th homer, 2nd homer in two games, and, no, he won’t be in this afternoon’s Buy column, but be crazy.
Gavin Williams – 6 IP, 0 ER, 5 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 3.58. Guy’s command is so egregiously bad (3 walks yesterday, 5 BB/9 on the year) but has managed to remain worthwhile so I’m trying to ignore everything I know about extra baserunners coming back to bite him at some point.
Logan Webb – 7 IP, 1 ER, 7 hits, zero walks, 9 Ks, ERA at 2.49. Webb gem!
Freddy Peralta – 5 IP, 3 ER, 4 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 2.76 vs. Jameson Taillon – 4 IP, 5 ER, ERA at 3.84. This matchup was billed as, “FreddyKBB who usually gets KaBoB‘d vs. a guy who actually was skewered.”
Caleb Durbin – 1-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 3rd homer, hitting .216. I have him in one league, and he’s benched because he’s so bad so far. Also, I just have him for speed, so that’s frustrating too. Lowercase yay.
Rhys Hoskins – 1-for-4 and his 11th homer, hitting .243. Rhys pieces together a solid season (and attracts ETs).
Isaac Collins – 1-for-3, 2 runs, 3 RBIs and his 4th homer, and 2nd homer in two games, and it’s time we finally went over him. There’s some concern that he might be a Quad-A player (he’s old), and can’t hit higher than .210 with a moderate K%, which means he makes a lot of weak contact. Numbers more or less back that up. What’s odd is he has power while making weak contact. His infield pop-ups back that up too. What’s also odd is he walks a lot but hits for a bad average. He does have speed too (went 14/24 in Triple-A last year). It’s all very odd! Plus, he sounds like a drink made with gin, and named after a bartender, yet…I think he plays sober. Hmm. He could be a low-grade 15-team mixed league guy and deeper. He won’t be in this afternoon’s Buy column, because he’s literally right here!
Dansby Swanson – 2-for-3, 2 runs and his 14th homer, 2nd homer in four games, hitting .244. Veruca Salt, “Dansby, whoever heard of a Dansby!”
Ian Happ – 1-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 8th homer, hitting .246. Star of the silver screen, Claudette Colbert in Ian Happened One Night, a screwball comedy where we expect Ian Happ to do more, grow frustrated and think about dropping him, then he does something, assuages us, and starts the cycle again.
Pete Crow-Armstrong – 1-for-3, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and his 20th homer, and 2nd homer in two games. If he went 0-for-the-rest-of-the-season, he’d still have a solid year under his belt.
Jac Caglianone – 2-for-4 and his 1st and 2nd homer. The Italian Caglianone rises from the ashes of nonna’s Marlboro Red.
Vinnie Pasquantino – 1-for-3, 2 RBIs and his 11th homer. If only Tony Soprano could’ve lived to see the Royals game yesterday. [makes sign of the cross, kisses horn hanging around neck]
Michael Wacha – 6 IP, 1 ER, 4 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 3.24. I’m embarrassed at myself for seeing Wacha on waivers and not picking him up. No one wants him!
Alejandro Kirk – 3-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 6th and 7th homer. Captain Kirk, we have made contact. Twice. Guy who looks like a bowling ball with legs is hitting .313.
Kevin Gausman – 4 1/3 IP, 7 ER, ERA at 4.60. I hate this so much because it brings me so much joy and now I’m going to keep chasing this Schadenfreude high.
Gabriel Moreno – Hit the IL with hand inflammation. Hopefully he heals quicker than Yordan, who is currently on a list in Houston for a new hand. Jose Herrera will become the DBags’ catcher and that’s the last you have to know about that.
Eugenio Suarez – 3-for-5, 4 RBIs and his 22nd homer, hitting .237. That’s 42 homers since last All-Star Break; Kyle Schwarber has 42. Wow!
Pavin Smith – 1-for-2, 2 runs, 3 RBIs and his 6th homer. He also had a caught stealing for the very rare slam and “I got no legs” Guy from the movie, Kids.
Ryne Nelson – 5 2/3 IP, 1 ER, 1 hit, 2 walks, 4 Ks, ERA at 3.88. Just looked up his stats and was expecting to be wowed. Floored, even. Like a Wildwood t-shirt that reads “1 Tequila, 2 Tequila, 3 Tequila, FLOOR” floored. I was not. Looks like a Streamonator guy for now.
Mike Trout – 2-for-4 and his 12th homer, hitting .236. In the Files of Everyone Gets Old Some Time: Trout has gone from GREAT to lowercase great to GREAT WHEN HEALTHY to [shrugs] Meh, he’s okay.
Taylor Ward – 1-for-4 and his 19th homer. Guess what he’s hitting. C’mon, get within ten points. Bzzt, not close! He’s hitting .209. Cringe emoji that is trying not to cringe because the power is good.
Jo Adell – 1-for-3 and his 15th homer, and 2nd homer in as many games. Ya know who Adell’s become? What you would’ve taken from Adolis Garcia.
Paul Goldschmidt – 2-for-4, 2 runs and his 8th homer. Au Shizz!
Trent Grisham – 2-for-3, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and his 14th homer, hitting .245, and hitting 9th. And you said he retired after April! Haha, who’s wrong now? The funniest (not funniest) is how people were convinced he became a different player because he had a hot April. He’s hitting .180 since May 14th with two homers.
Carlos Rodon – 6 IP, 3 ER, 5 baserunners, 7 Ks, ERA at 3.10. Carlos might Carlose some, but he just Carwon one.
Devin Williams – 1 IP, 0 ER, 3 Ks, ERA at 5.27, but almost lights-out for two months and I wanted to quickly mention that Luke Weaver could be returning today, but it doesn’t mean he’s coming for the closer job. Weaver might’ve been Pipp’d. Or they share it, which is the worst case scenario.
Spencer Strider – 6 IP, 1 ER, 6 baserunners, 8 Ks, ERA at 3.89. With great command comes great responsibility to be an ace. And he’s making good on that.
Frankie Montas – Could return next week. Mets said there’s a good chance. That’s better than no or fat.
Clay Holmes – 4 2/3 IP, 3 ER, ERA at 3.04. Could he finally be regressing? I’m not saying that, I’m wishing it.
Kristian Campbell – Optioned to the minors. It’s especially demoralizing when you still have a guy on your fantasy team that his own team doesn’t think is worthy of staying on their team and options him down to the minors. We should have a glossary term for that. Please suggest in the comments.
James Wood – 2-for-5, 4 RBIs and his 19th and 20th homer, hitting .284. Guy makes me so happy I’m about to start petitioning the Academy to give James Woods an Honorary Oscar for playing “Ugly Bad Guy” in every movie.
THERE’S A NEW POST FOR FOLLOWUPS FOR ME
Rejected Alter Boy?
It’s hotter than Hades here in the STL…I’m making my own McGravy!! (Ewww!)
Baez or Toglia for bench/util? Toglia has that power streak and he’s about to be vs. ARI, vs. LAD, @ MIL. Baez wouldn’t be the worst backup/bench player given his eligibility. H2H league.
Toglia
12 tm H2H, I was offered Teoscar Hernandez for David Peterson. No brainer or caution?
Teoscar
Didier Fuentes…streaming tonight against the Fish:
[Jerry Maguire voice] Who’s coming with me?
…may he don the Touki cloak – and carve them up!
Ha, not even Dorothy
LOL
…but when he nets 8 Ks, I’ll clap my hands like Dicky Fox and say “This is going to be a great day!”
Shabbat shalom! Grey, is Ragans worth anything more than a headache ros? He’s being shut down and reevaluated in 2 weeks. Shoulder issues are death to pitchers so not sure if I should move on? Received an offer this morning of his Helsley for my Ragans. Who would you rather ros? Thanks!
Nah, he’s droppable
Wow. Droppable?? lol I guess any deal I could get for him I should accept.
Yeah
Thanks!
No problem
Horton home vs Seattle or Soriano home vs Houston?
Soriano
Cowser or Yandy Diaz ROS
Cowser
Hi Grey,
Merrill Kelly at CO
Seth Lugo at SD
David Peterson at Phil
1. Would you start any of the above three?
2. of the following streamers, does any feel really good or they are both meh?
Cub’s Cade Horton vs Seattle or
LAA’s Jose Soriano vs Houston
Note; both are at home
1. yes 2. they seem fine
Thanks!
Which of Lugo, Kelly and Peterson would you prioritize?
Thank you!
I’ve got two 1B/OF eligible
Jac and O’Hearn
I also have Josh Smith and Jesus Sanchez sitting in my bench.
In your opinion, does Luke Raley or Toglia jump over any of them for a drop, trade/add?
14 team 6×6 weekly –
Much appreciated
Nah
Hi Grey,
Would you take a shot on Yordan in redraft? Trade Santander and Clay Holmes for Yordan?
Sure
@Grey: weekly roto redraft. after a trade, have a couple of open roster spots. any of these guys more than a streamer or worth the upside? ben brown, n cameron, g williams, morton, jacob lopez, ed cab or cecconi?
thanks!
Brown, EdCab
Pages or Brandon Lowe in a league using AVG and OBP?
Pages
Kristian Campbell = Not One Of Us – due to the “minors” situation.
…I know, shou’dn’t have gone there. I’ll go wash my mouth out with soap now (as my mother used to punish me with).
Ha, think we have better
Re Schwarbs vs Suarez… sure the power numbers are the same, but the big difference maker is Schwarbs blazing speed on the bags.
Damn! Suarez hit 307 post ASB! Buy high now for a repeat?
Haha
Please rank these IL pitchers ROS, assuming they come off thee IL relatively soon: C. Javier, L, Garcia and S. Mananea. Thank you
Manaea
Please pick one
Keller home vs Tex
Soriano home vs Hou
Abel home vs Atlanta
Sorry Abel home vs Mets
Soriano
(1) Who’s the bulk reliever agter Ohtani’s 2-inning Sunday start?
(2) Better keeper: Marcelo Mayer or House?
(3) Drop William Contreras for Tyler Stephenson or Agustin Ramirez?
1. Isn’t it Casparius? 2. Mayer 3. no
Been offered Gausman for Adolis Garcia in a 12 team roto OBP league. Leaning accept with eyes wide open. Gausman’s no Ace, but maybe a solid SP3 which can be helpful if his Statcast page can be believed. Picked up Alec Burleson who might outperform Adolis anyway. Thoughts?
Sounds fair
Drop Larnach for (just activated) L. Raley? Similar LH hitters with some pop, but Luke runs a bit
Sure
thanks – hey how about, “Suckered in and Sent down” know you got better – have a good weekend!
Haha, you too!
re Campbell…..the Lumpy Rutherford Award
I don’t get it
Me neither, Ha!
Disregarding position, who would you want for next year?
Elly De La Cruz or Corbin Carrol
Elly
Drafted Alvarez, Gunnar, A Riley, J Naylor and Ozuna. Thought power was covered. Last place in homers but 4rth in standings Ozuna, Heliot, T Ward, Caglione, Adell, or Toglia.. What are my dependable 4? Thanks.
Waard, Ramos, Jac, Ozuna
Gabriel is going to take advantage of the break by getting in a few rounds. Yordan will play the part of his caddy, Chubbs Peterson.
HA
[Kenny Bannon voice] That’s gold, Jerry! Gold!
Thought owning Alvarez and Snell would help take me to the ‘promised land’…oy vey.
When the Yordan drafter in my league traded him for E. Pagan and Friedl on May 13, I thought he’d lost his marbles. Not so much since.
Alvarez is still worth $21 on the Trade Analyzer, so I guess we hold and pray for a 2nd half like no other…
Which one of these “next-in-line” closers do you like?
Brad Keller for Cubs
Brendon Little for Toronto
Matt Brash for Seattle
Little but not in Toronto
Some good ones already, but how about A minor inconvenience?
Think we have better
Hey Grey, would you make any of the following moves in a 10-team h2h pts league?
1) Drop Oneil Cruz for Javy Baez, Cam Smith, or Edman
2) Drop Luzardo for Mize, Pepiot, or Luke Weaver
3) Drop Taillon for Mize, Pepiot, or Luke Weaver
1, no 2. no 3 Weaver
“Can’t Always Get What U Want”
This is true
I meant for holding on to Prospects to long. :-)
Yeah, I know
Morning & Happy Clear Your Drains Day!
I’m looking to do the same with my fantasy teams!
Someone dropped Caglianone and with his pedigree + recent game, I’m sure he’ll be scooped up asap.
Would you drop either Toglia and/or Christian Walker for him (6×6 OPS)?
Also, few SP “trust to start” Questions:
Thanks as alwys!
Haha, what a celebratory day
Drop Walker for Jac
1. sure 2. no 3. no 4. no
Thank you kind sir!
Speaking of Christian Walker, what are your thoughts on him ROS?
He has 10HR’s & 30+ RBI/R on the season, but continues to hit around the .200 line.
Thanks again!
Think he’s hurt and/or old
Categories 6×6 OBP. ROS
Bohm, Busch, Burleson and CES. Did I get that right?
Works for me
Dangled Tork before dropping him. Best offer has been Kershaw. Drop Tork and stream or take a shot on Clayton?
Try Kershaw
Done! Thank you.
I now have one bench bat – Barger or Stanton since I am not sure that either plays every day. Keep that in place to see how things shake out or drop one for a holds guy like RaRod or Vesia (holds is one of 9 pitching cats).
Barger
Burleson… The day after I dropped him he took off
Brett Baty… The day after I dropped him, hung on to him in the minors as long as I can, he took off
Edward Cabrera….
Gabriel Moreno….
Haha
Could you please drop Gunnar?
Asking for a friend
Who is the drop in a saves holds league out of these relievers I have?:
Shelby miller
Robert Garcia
Brendon little was
Little
12 teamer U spot. Kirk or R.Mauricio?
Ronny
Glossary Term –
1. Haha, will put it on the list
1 – I had to look up the song. And I remembered. Damn you, sir.
Been stashing Logan Henderson in 12 team with 1400 inning limit – Do you expect him up soon? Would you rather have any of these for ROS stats.: Ober, Kikuchi, Morton, Soriano, Chase Burns, Jacob Lopez.
No idea when he’s coming up…I’d look at matchups
Is it crazy to roster Barger, Cowser, Vargas and Stanton while cutting Tork? I am feeling Tork is the guy we thought he was and the other guys at least have some upside. If they don’t pan out, back to the wire.
No
i traded wacha for frelic. who should i roll the dice on between colton gordon, jacob lopez, lauer are top available .
which side in this proposal : heliot ramos and masyn winn for jarren duran and correa ?
thanks have a great weekend
Duran
i have duran and so will hold. what about the pitcher question? i should add wins, era, baa, whip all count. thanks
Lopez
Happy Friday!
Thinking about SPs for next week (12-team, 5×5 league). Must starts are Brown, Rodon and Woo.
Other options are:
Bibee vTOR
Gallen @CHW
Horton @STL
Liberatore @CLE
Leither vSEA
ROUPP @CHW
1) Please rank top 4 from above list.
2) 2-start options available on the wire are:
Morton vTEX and @TEX
Ja-Lo (Jacob Lopez) @DET and @TB
Use either of these guys over the guys listed above?
Thank you and have a great weekend.

Trade offer. Keeper league. Can you weigh in which side A or B
A. Acuna $38 this year and next 2 and Gunner this year only
or
B. Crochet $10 this year and next and Jac Cag $1 this year and next 2
Caglianone for $1 is too good to give up in a keeper right even with Acuna coming back
I’d want Acuna
Ok thanks for the input
No problem
12 team 5×5 obp keeper – would you drop CES for Burleson
YES
Considering dropping Gausman into the streaming pool and holding Ben Brown for the upside? Brown’s next matchup is Monday @ StL though. Drop them both and stream two spots or who’s the drop?
Stream until someone clicks
I like the player too much to drop him — it’s Blind Demotion.
That’s solid too, will put it on the final list that goes to the voting board (Rudy)
Are you picking up Profar due to come off suspension 7/2 – would you drop any of the following to pick him up: Larnach, House, Mangum, Barger, Jasson, Anthony, Jung Hoo Lee, Harris II
Over Larnach seems fine
Hey Grey! Forecast is 15 mph wind out to LF at Wrigley this afternoon. Would sitting Boyd be overthinking it?
Nope
Two leagues
6×6 daily roto using W & QS – Gore or Flaherty?
5×5 weekly roto – What order – Adell, Edman, W. Abreu
Gore
Edman, Wilyer
I cut Gausman to add Ed Cabrera and I cant think of a more “this seems smart but also I am going to be equally as pissed off when I start him” move. Also, I am sure like MANY, this is my 1,000 time owning E-Cab because when he is the ultimate enigma of “What if” potential.
Keep up the great work as always, Grey!
HAHA, yep!
12 team single C league…Kirk or Agustin R.??
Kirk
Are Kurtz and Soderstrom same tier players ROS?
Yes
I believe that’s Nootbaar’s first homer since the Ming dynasty. Waited so long to drop the guy because I feared he’d be scooped up immediately and blow up. He’s still on the wire a month later, and probably still stuck on 4 steals too, I’d wager.
HA
Grey …. phillies is still a better name than the Guardians …love the pitching and the schwarbombs but noticiing Stott late he is doing a wierd drop of is back knee hopefully ken long smacks him around some.
Also better than when teams just named themselves after whatever color socks they wore
HAHA
good thing did’nt name teams after the stain colors in their underware
maybe Cleveland and the NFL
lol
Ha, fair!
Cowser or Adell ROS? I’ve added and dropped and added both, but need to be more patient with somebody. Adell almost seems more rounded (lower K%), but I’m also hoping the Orioles are going to have a banger second half.
Cowser
A good chance is neither fat nor slim, but perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
Haha
12 team, 5×5 roto. 1250 Max IP. 670 innings remaining (+2.2)
You starting Boyd v. SEA with 15mph+ wind blowing out? ($6.3)
Does seem scary
I heard Pavin was purposely angling for the inaugural “Slam and No Legs” blurb.
Please rate these upcoming starts:
Birdsong vs Boston

Glossary Term:
Prospectile Dysfunction- When a once-promising bat just can’t perform in the bigs.
It’s decent, will put it on the list of finalists!
Between this and Secondhand Demotion. Both are catchy.
The Bard has spoken. Remember kids, I am a professional.
Haha
Sheehan worth holding even with the demotion ? Kind of blindsided by it was really excited to get him for cheap
Sure
Kevin Gausman was just dropped in a 12 team league, is he a must add or no at this point?
No
Should I drop Herrera for Yainer Diaz? OPS league.
Why would you consider dropping a guy that’s hitting .400 in the past week and over .300 for the season? Diaz has been great recently but he has 1 more home run in 100 more ABs for the year.
I added Herrera back in early May and haven’t looked back. If I get a guy that can give me steady numbers at C without draining my BA, I set it and forget it.
Nope
ESPN points, redraft but with 4 keepers/team
Evaluating possible trade
Principals would be:
Devin Williams for Gavin Williams
Side getting Gavin would also receive one of the following:
a) Bednar
b) Chase Burns
c) Painter
d) McGreevy
Which side and if Gavin side, please rank the 4 “throw-ins”
Thanks!
Gavin, w/ Bednar, Burns, McGreevy
Did you ever notice that Jung Hoo Lee is always in the drop down box of most searched players on Fangraphs? It doesn’t matter what he does. He’s just always there.
Anyway, Jung Hoo Lee and Geraldo Perdomo haven’t done anything since April. Would you drop them for any of these guys:
Luis Garcia Jr
Otto Lopez
Brooks Lee
Masyn Winn
Matt Shaw
Agustin Ramirez
Andres Gimenez
Brady House
Ceddanne Rafaela
Jesus Sanchez
10 team 7×7 (add Hits and BBs) H2H with deep rosters. Keep 10 forever though it’s not really a consideration in this case.
Haven’t noticed…Garcia, House
Maybe clear your . . . cachetray?
I never reply with good glossary terms, but I might have one here… Secondhand demotion
I like that! Will put it on the list of finalists!
Hell yeah!
Happy Friday, Grey. Thanks for all your hard work.

Ugly Baby?
As in, everyone else thinks your baby is ugly but you think it’s the cutest thing in the world?
Ha, not bad, think I prefer secondhand demotion
Hi Grey,
Torkelson’s production has dropped off precipitously over the past month. Kinda worried he’s reverting to the guy we thought he was preseason. Would you drop him for Burleson?
Sure
5×5 roto. drop either Albies or McLain and pickup Barger?
McLain
I too have Campbell, and it’s feels like Boston is my mom telling me. “This is For Your Own Good.”
So my glossary term would be that you just got “roster mom’d”
Haha, that’s decent, will put it on the final list
Toglia or Burleson ?
Burleson

Think we have better
We got Few Good Men’d? (Campbell’s on your fantasy roster bc you’re dreaming on upside….but Red Sox said “you can’t handle the truth!”)
Ha, think we have better

Think we have better
Farmhandcuffed
When you cling to a guy who just got demoted, convinced he’ll be back any minute while he rots in Triple-A. Meanwhile, your bench spot could be doing literally anything useful.

Major Minor. Too obvious?
Think we have better
Burleson, Schanuel, or Kirk? (12 team H2H, 6×6 w/OPS)?
Burleson
How about burleson or Toglia?

Rodney Dangerfield quote of the day for June 20, 2025
My kid wants to be a prison warden when he grows up so he can put thumb tacks on the electric chairs.

Thanks!
What do I do with Emmet Sheehan? Re-draft league, no bench spots
Lose him
I’ve been hanging around Razzball for the better part of a decade, and I just realized the basis for AU Shizz
My first memory of this place was when he was identified is a breakout and did in a big way. I believe that would have been before the 2013 season.
Still great and fun content to this day.
who are we talking about
Goldy
Haha
Hi Grey,
Life is good! I started Wacha today!
1. Would you start or sit Kershaw vs Wash at home?
2. Of course, after waiving Gavin Williams. he has a good night. His next start is home vs Toronto.
2.Would you pick him back?
3. Would you rather have Williams or Jose Soriano or is it purely matchups?
Have a great weekend and thanks so much for all your help!!
I’m starting Kersh, but I’m in a deep league
Thanks! always appreciate your help!
No problem
Glossary term idea: Balrogs. You hold on while they go down.
Wow, that’s a deep cut, think we have better tho
