You know the GIF of Antonio Banderas from Assassins where he’s leaning back, exhaling and loving life? If you don’t know, don’t google it, because it’ll live in your head like mine and pop up every time you have a pleasurable moment. I now live in GIFs. Something good? Antonio nodding in joyous rapture. Something comes to me suddenly, and I’m Wee Bey from The Wire realizing something. Something is brought to my attention that I agree with? I’m that kid (Brent Rambo) giving a thumbs up from the 90’s Apple promo. They’re like earworms but for my eyes. They’re eyeworms. Parker Messick‘s pitching yesterday was Banderas; his peripherals are Wee Bey; knowing his ERA will naturally get worse but not wanting to know that? That 90’s kid. Yesterday, he went 8 IP, 2 ER, 4 baserunners, 9 Ks, ERA at 1.05, as he took a no-hitter into the 9th. Not to complain about every little thing, but I love that he was given the chance to get the no-hitter, but why wasn’t Cade Smith warming up so he was ready to go after the 1st single? Did they need Messick to throw a second single? So, he’s at 8.8 K/9, 2.5 BB/9, 3.11 xFIP and if that sounds like a solid three, high number four starter? It’s because: 90’s kid giving thumbs up. Anyway, here’s what else I saw this weekend in fantasy baseball:
Jose Ramirez – 2-for-3, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and his 4th homer. JoJo can’t stop, won’t stop!
Mike Trout – 1-for-2, 3 runs with his 7th homer, and, in his visit to the Tri-State area, he hit five homers, nine RBIs, eight runs and hit .375. I have no special affiliation to New Jersey anymore, even though I grew up there. Sure, I’m writing this while eating a pork roll sandwich, and, if anyone calls it Taylor Ham, I will slice their ass. I also changed my middle name to What-Exit. Yes, Atlantic City is the best resort town, and Jersey Shore has the only beaches worth going to in the world, but who cares about Jersey? Fine, I dressed as the Jersey Devil for the last 27 Halloweens, and I have a crush on Snookie, but who cares? Am I currently reenacting my time in Jersey by rolling up the car windows and farting to kill the smell of toxic fumes? Yes, fine, who cares?! Mike Trout does. That’s who. Someone likes home cooking. Not to be a natural born hater, but I have to point out Trout’s done this repeatedly in the latter half of his career and always breaks down. Unless he’s packed pork roll in his suitcase to snack on on other road trips.
Oswald Peraza – 2-for-4, 2 runs, 3 RBIs and a slam (4) and legs (3) and his 3rd homer in the last four games. I have him on an AL-Only team and I call him My Trout. Because he’s mine. He will be in this afternoon’s Buy column, because dur. He’s scalding.
Jo Adell – 2-for-4, 3 runs, 4 RBIs and his 3rd homer, 2nd homer in three games. “Jo Adell is cinema,” but said like 45-year-old man who is trying to sound like he’s 22.
Max Fried – 5 1/3 IP, 5 ER, ERA at 2.97. Glad I never liked this guy. Kidding! He’s awesome, just a blip on the radar! Someone get the Blip-Off for my radar!
Aaron Judge – 1-for-4 and his 8th homer. I saw MLB tweeted that Judge tied Jordan Walker for the MLB home run lead, and that made me chuckle. Jordan Walker getting some shine!
Jazz Chisholm Jr. – 0-for-2, 8th steal, hitting .179, and it’s time we talked about how Jazz could be in serious trouble of losing playing time when Anthony Volpe returns, destined for a platoon with Jose Caballero (3-for-4, 7th and 8th steal) and Amed Rosario (0-for-4).
Ben Rice – 1-for-4 and his 5th homer, hitting .327. Have an idea for opposing teams: Even if the pitcher is a righty, have them throw with their left hand when Rice comes up so Boone quickly removes him from the lineup.
Giancarlo Stanton – 1-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 2nd homer, hitting .273. “Thank you, sweet ‘Carlo.” That’s me addressing the Giancarlo poster I have on my bedroom ceiling.
Jared Jones – Just about at the simulated game phase of his rehab. That’s when players put on white makeup and mime stuff. He’s likely around mid-to-late June for his return, assuming no setbacks.
Braxton Ashcraft – 5 2/3 IP, 2 ER, 7 baserunners, 7 Ks, ERA at 2.38, and he also gave up three unearned for the box scare. Ashcraft’s underlying numbers are still gorge, so don’t get spooked, ghost him or boo.
Marcell Ozuna – 1-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 1st homer, hitting .127. He could get hot off the back of this home run, but his Statcast looks like the Snow Miser.
Foster Griffin – 5 1/3 IP, 4 ER, 9 baserunners, 7 Ks, ERA at 3.05. Nowhere near as beautiful as Ashcraft. His underlying nmbers aren’t even as pretty as, say, Tyler Mahle. So, Griffin: Streamonator.
Brandon Sproat – 6 2/3 IP, 1 ER, 5 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 6.88. I have Sproat in so many deep leagues where I can’t drop him that I’m taking this as an encouraging start. In shallower leagues, I would want to see more, but I’d absolutely be monocle’ing.
Angel Zerpa – 1 IP, 0 ER, ERA at 5.40, and his 2nd save. Uribe is the Brewers’ closer, and this shows you that Megill isn’t the 2nd choice when Uribe can’t go (because he went last two days).
Patrick Corbin – 5 2/3 IP, 1 ER, 5 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 4.66. The statement “Jays aren’t that bad” tapping out to the statement “Patrick Corbin is pitching for the Jays.”
Bobby Witt Jr. – 3-for-5, 3 runs, 1 RBI, hitting .278. Three hits and three whole runs! Finally! A positive! See that, I made fun of him yesterday and now he performs. This is a good takeaway for all you parents out there, when it comes to raising your kids: Mocking works!
Jac Caglianone – 1-for-4, 1 run, 1 RBI. You salami-eating, Staten Island-living, over-decorator-on-Christmas, let’s go, hit a dong! Get it on!
Salvador Perez – 2-for-4, 4 RBIs and his 3rd homer. Carter Jensen and Sal P. are the only Royals who seem to know the season started, and that statement’s got stretch marks since neither guy is hitting for any sorta average.
Kris Bubic – 4 2/3 IP, 5 ER, ERA at 3.97. Consistency is important, Mr. Boob Itch, if that is your real name and/or condition.
Vinnie Pasquantino – 1-for-5 and his 1st homer, hitting .155. “Don’t really think it’s legal to carve the innards out of a dead body and use it as a sleeping bag–Hold on! He moved! Vinnie’s alive!”
Lucas Erceg – 2/3 IP, 3 ER, ERA at 6.14. Rushing to waivers to get the replacement closer never led to happiness, only heartbreak.
Keider Montero – 6 IP, 4 ER, 7 hits, zero walks, 5 Ks, ERA at 3.31. He only has two walks in 16 1/3 IP. That gets the juices flowing a little bit. His 8-ish K/9 would play with that kind of command, if he can maintain it. Prolly more of a number five to six, in best case scenario, but that’s something for 15-team mixed leagues and deeper.
Dillon Dingler – 2-for-5, 2 RBIs and his 4th homer. Thank you for rewarding me for dressing as a turd every day of the baseball season and telling people I’m a Dingler Dangler.
Everson Pereira – 2-for-3 and his 3rd homer, and that’s in less than a week of games, and he’s hitting cleanup for the Shite Sox. He’s a hot schmotato, yes, but in broader picture: he’s a guy that can go 25/25/with an average so low he won’t go 25/25 because they’d never give him enough at-bats nor would he make enough contact. We’re talking a .150 hitter, if that. But big power and speed.
Miguel Vargas – 1-for-5 and his 2nd homer, and his 2nd hit since April 6th, as he hits .159. Welp, at least the Shite Sox have him buried in their lineup. Oops! Forgot I was standing on my head. Vargas is hitting leadoff.
Seranthony Dominguez – 1/3 IP, 3 ER, ERA at 7.50, and his 2nd blown save. Why is Grant Taylor not their closer? Money reasons? What if I told you Reinsdorf has $5 billion dollars and is an unhealthy 90 years old? Still care about money?
Steven Matz – 5 1/3 IP, 2 ER, 7 baserunners, 4 Ks, ERA at 3.80. Just googled, “Steven Matz stats,” and Google asked, “Why?” and I said, “In case I want to pick him up in my fantasy league,” and Google said, “Are you crackers? Are you Charles Bronson because it sounds like you have a death wish? Do you hate yourself? Answer me, User!” I’m scared.
Junior Caminero – 2-for-5 and his 4th homer, and 2nd homer in two games. [beeping at people in line to buy gifts while driving my toy car around FAO Schwarz] Move it, my Junior Caminero needs room to vroom!
Bryan Baker – 1 IP, 0 ER, ERA at 3.68, and his 4th save. He’d be leading the league in saves if Cash ever committed to him. By the way, he’s solid and if Cash committed to him, then they could trade him in July for more. But I’m making too much sense!
Luis Castillo – 5 1/3 IP, 1 ER, 10 baserunners, 3 Ks, ERA at 5.40. He looks severely broken. He wasn’t fooling anyone. Walker Buehler (5 IP, 2 ER, 6 baserunners, 7 Ks, ERA at 4.58), who is not good, looked better than Castillo. If you can’t get it together for the Eddie Vedder Cup, you have to find a better man.
Hunter Goodman – 2-for-3, and his 5th homer, 3rd homer in three games. I said a better man, but I’d take a Goodman.
Chase Dollander – 5 1/3 IP, 0 ER, 3 baserunners, 9 Ks, ERA at 3.32, and keeps coming in after the Opener. Not sure why he’s not starting, but he looks exceptional — 10.9 K/9, 2.8 BB/9, 2.87 xFIP, velo up to 99 MPH, and basically an unhittable slider. Rockies are such a tough team to own a pitcher on, but Chase looks worth a FAAB Dollander or two.
Jakob Junis – 1 1/3 IP, 3 ER, ERA at 2.89 as he entered the 7th inning of what would’ve been a save chance. Oh, it was to face the 7th, 8th and 9th hitter too, “So what now King Vulture of the Vulture Saves?” I ask my stuffed vulture I have above my desk that is missing an eye because of an attempted curse I hired a witch for that backfired with five years of bad vulture save luck.
Josh Jung – 3-for-5, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and his 1st homer. That makes him simply tied with every Italian I have from the Kansas City Freakin’ Royals!
Justin Sterner – 1 IP, 3 ER, ERA at 4.66. A’s are a fun team, but they could really use a shutdown reliever. Oh well…In unrelated news, has anyone heard from Mason Miller recently?
Sung-Mun Song – Optioned to minors. Worst Neil Diamond diss since Kate Hudson lost the Oscar. We love you, K-Hud!
Tatsuya Imai – Played catch on Thursday. Great, since my fantasy league has “Harry Chapin Moments” category.
Chase Burns – 6 IP, 0 ER, 2 hits, 1 walk, 4 Ks, ERA at 2.42. It’s nice when you love a guy and he actually rewards your big, generous heart.
Daniel Susac – Only took Tonnato Vitello three weeks to figure out he should be starting a catcher hitting .500, and said Susac could start 50% of the time with Bailey. Kinda useless information outside of NL-Only.
Erik Miller – 1 IP, 0 ER, ERA at 6.00, and the 1st Giants save in something like three weeks. Ryan Walker (1 IP, 0 ER) is clearly not the closer, as he entered the 7th inning yet again. I saw E. Miller in the box score and you could’ve said my life depended on naming who that was and I would’ve guessed Ezra Miller broke into the Giants’ clubhouse in nothing but boxers high on opioids, insisting he close the game. Tonnato Vitello is definitely putting his stamp on this team, and that stamp reads, “Stinks.” I’d still guess Caleb Kilian for saves, but it’s totally unclear, and no one is getting more than 10 saves on this team.
Landen Roupp – 6 IP, 0 ER, 1 hit, 2 walks, 6 Ks, ERA at 2.38. Pitching the best he’s ever pitched in the majors, and he has a career 3.68 ERA in 173 2/3 IP, which I point out to say he’s not pitched poorly prior to this year. Mentioned this already once before this year, but it didn’t make sense that Roupp was forgotten and left for dead in preseason drafts. Maybe because his grandfather was Adolph Roupp and no one wants any connection to any Adolph? Well, what about a dolphin, do you not want any part of those? Because if dolphins are secretly plotting to take over the world, they’re listening to your thoughts right now, so they know. It’s too late to take back what you thought. It’s too late to buy a dolphin nightlight off Etsy. You’re sunk! I have your back, new dolphin rulers. (Yes, this was written on the .000000000000000001% chance dolphins take over the world, so they think I’m on their side. Wait, crap, hmm, here’s hoping they can’t read a parenthetical.) Roupp’s next chance is vs. the Dodgers, but it’s at home and you gotta let him sink or swim (like dolphins!), even if the Streamonator hates it.
THERE’S A NEW POST FOR FOLLOWUPS FOR ME
is it me or is there an increasing frequency of
disastrous pitching outings : starters and closers left in way too long (imho). are there certain managers who are particularly known for this? i am showing my age but i yearn for
Captain Hook (Sparky Anderson)
Better bet for Saves and Holds league- Cole Winn, Caleb Killian, Ben Brown?
Brown
Make sense to drop McClanahan, Cantillo, Painter or Schultz for Chase Dollander. K/9 league.
Schultz
Grey – have a pitching streamer spot for either a SP or RP.
Please rank the top 3 from this group and would you hold that arm or stream? 10 team H2H for context
Abel, Detmers, Arrighetti, Baker, Bubic, Boyd, McClanahan
Thanks!
LG
Bubic, Boyd, Baker
Start Glasnow in Colorado tonight
It’s going to be cold, snowing right now.
Thats football weather!
Muncy (A’s) or Stott
Muncy
Gonna be Ben Brown or Riley Martin as Cubs closer. Brown IS NOT ready, who would you add Grey?
They’re all good, but they’re all lefties, so who knows…I guess Brown only because righty
Hello Mr. Grey – couple quick questions for Full Dyno. First is RP – I have Miller and Munoz but he has been rough and another owner wants him. I have Megill and Abreu who are on a spiral but maybe worth keeping. Hader may never return right but regardless do I drop Abreu for Enyel (or Baker TB) or does his outlook better long term. Megill has his own comp too so maybe it is him?? Any thoughts are appreciated.
2nd one – drop any of these for Roupp? Lodolo, Leiter, TreyY, McClananana or Painter (again long term is a big factor as well – I have Sken, Kirb, Cease & Eury as a core).
Thanks as always homeslice!
Cheers~
Lose Abreu for Enyel
Hold on SPs
Nice – thanks for the reply! Have a good weekend
In a h2h league which counts holds and saves separately. My RPs are: Iglesia, T Megill, Abreu, Brash, F. Crus, Morillo, J. Adam, Sabrowski? Are any of these drop for Enyel? Was thinking Cruz. Or hold?
Sure, Cruz
Hey Grey,
Who would you start:
Wacha @NYY vs Schlittler
Warren vs NY vs Cameron
Warren
Hello Grey! Love the NJ references (coming from a NYC/LI guy). Trout really gave it to my Yanks. Ugh!
Why doesn’t that guy man up and play for a team that might have a shot at making a play in game at least? I do like him, and always have, but that’s kinda lame IMO.
Anyhoo, down to business. Any thoughts on adding one (or both) of Roupp or Dollander for any of the following in our Yahoo 10 Team H2H Points League:
Woodruff
R. Ray
Soroka
Hancock
Ranger (I will probably launch him first if he gags one up tonight)
Didier
Thanks much Grey.
Yeah, I know….Roupp
Mornin Gray!
I don’t have any witty commentary today, so I’ll just give ya a YOLO! and wish us all luck in our leagues today. Except for my opponent this week, because seriously, F that dude.
YOLO!
Awe crap I spelled your name wrong. I have shame.
Palencia to the IL. Add Thielbar? He’s a lefty though.
Ben Brown maybe?
brown
Brown has yet to be used in less than 2 innings at a time though this season. Every appearance has been 2-3.1 IP
I know, it’s not ideal…none of them are…Maybe Webb?
Starting senga ar cubs?
Starting soroka at home.vs toronto?
Yes
For both
Redraft, 12 team, standard 5×5 Roto
Thanks
Moniak 2. Lowe 3. yeah, brutal
Happy Fridays!
ROS- Naylor or Vinnie?
thx
Vinnie
Hey Grey. Third base concerns. I’m currently roster House, and have Barger on the IL (dropped Royce when he got hurt). 12-team 6×6 with OPS.
1) Peraza or J. Jung over House? Limited moves league.
2) I roster Vlad, Freeman, and Busch (we have 1 INF and 1 Util spot). If I could trade Vlad for Caminero vroom vroom, should I?
I feel like Vlad is worth more ($36 vs $30.20 on Fantasy Baseball Trade Analyzer), but it could work from a roster build view.
So options are generally, A) hold and use FAAB for 3B, B) trade Vlad for Caminero straight up, or C) try to get a little more with Caminero for Vlad.
Any shows I should know about? I’ve watched DTF St. Louis and The Pitt recently. The Pitt gets a little. . . I don’t know, maudlin? Still entertaining.
Thanks! Have a good weekend!
1. hold 2. sounds fine — i ranked Caminero above Vlad in the preseason, Caminero has been better than Vlad so I don’t know how you’re getting more than Caminero, but you can try
You watch Mr. Inbetween on Hulu?
Thanks.
I’ll check it out!
No problem
Hey Grey,
im looking to upgrade my infield. I’m currently rolling out some combo of Wetherholt, Durbin and Stott. Actually JJ is a constant and the other two have been rotated. These bats are available on the waiver wire
BOGAERTS
A.MARTINEZ
MUNCY(lad)
or could add Marte or Polanco as a stash
slim pickins i know
I also made the mistake of drafting R.Walker. Would you drop him for any of
EDLS
Kuhnel
Killan
Yates?
Enyel
You need an everyday hitter? Bogaerts over Durbin
Still adding pitching. Who is the better ROI for ROS – B. Ashcraft or DeLauter?
Ashcraft
Appreciate it Grey
No problem
Laureano or Jarren Duran
Duran
Hey Grey –
Best lemon to juice on the wire – Peraza, Yorke, , DuBon, Carlos Cortes, Dom Smith or Casey Schmidt?
Thanks!
Peraza
Thoughts on trade I just made in my 12 team mixed category set up. My pitching has been inconsistent… I sent Rooker and Keaschall for Eury Perez and Braxton ashcraft… I have Otto Lopez in keashalls spot and I was able to grab varsho for added depth for Rooker prior to. Have a great weekend good people!and Enjoy wrestlemania !
Rooker side
Dang it… all good. We shall see. Thanks as always
No problem
Que lo que señor Mustachio? Great shiz as always my G(rey). Who’s the better start for tonight? Wacha @ NYY or Schlittler vs. KC ?(Hate to pitch both pitchers of the same game). Also have Civale vs. White Sux. Thoughts? Gracia mi amigo
Thanks! Civale
Ok besides Civale, who would you start between Wacha and Schlittler? Need 2 starters
Cam
OPS H2H league. Who’s the set-it-and-forget-it choice for C?
Dingler, Herrera, or Carter Jensen?
Or do I just cycle through them all and roster the hottest one at the time?
Ivan
Drop Abbot for Abel?
Yes
Dollander or K. Harrison? Leaning Dollander.
Chase
Would you start Sheehan @ COL tomorrow?
I am not
Hoping the third time is a charm because my last two direct roster questions to you sort of blew up in my face.
#1 On Monday I asked whether it was worth keeping Uribe stashed on roster (over picking up Ashcraft) because I was OK on closers (Romano, Erceg and Sewald) and since then Uribe got the closer role and Romano and Erceg have blown 3 saves between them with an 81 ERA
#2 A couple weeks ago asked whether to keep Andrew Vaughn or Christian Walker for CI slot and you said drop Walker and two days later Vaughn went on IR.
So I am gluten for punishment and asking for your advice again.
Now that my closer situation has done a 180 in a matter of days, would you pick up Caleb Kilian, Grant Taylor or Angel Zerpa for speculative Saves (assuming I have to hold onto Erceg and Romano for a little while longer)?
Could drop a bench bat for now to take their place either Max Muncy (the old one), Michael Busch (he’ll come around won’t he?), Trevor Story (already have Zeto and Witt at SS and MI), or Aranda?
I WAS in 1st place in Saves by little bit but I see that changing pretty quickly after this POS week for me.
Sorry for long question.
Killian, Muncy
If you’re a glutton for punishment then why do you keep asking Grey questions?
lol
I won my league the last 2 years following his advice…this year though…not so much…doesn’t help I have a plethora of slow starters like Jazz, Busch, Keaschall, McLain (or McLame to quote a award winning writer).
Just to make myself feel worse I can add Witt and Langford to that list of slow starters who have a combined 2 HR’s between all 6 of them…I do lead the league in SB’s though
You’ll be fine… trust the master lothario were only 2 weeks into april
Which catcher going forward? h2h cat:
Jensen
Dingler
Liam Hicks
Jensen
Concern level for Keaschall reaching his sleeper projections this season? I am beginning to panic, so if you could trade him for Carter Jensen would you do it?
I’d want Luke
how would you rank the sp below? h2h Cat 12 team
Warren
Civale
Mitch Keller
You did
Grey,
How would you rank the following in a 10-team 5×5 Roto:
Kyle Bradish, Merrill Kelly, Andrew Abbott, Michael Wacha, Andrew Painter, Spencer Arrighetti

answered below
In a dynasty, would you deal Messick for Luzardo? Sell high, buy low?
I wouldn’t want Luzardo
Junis or King or neither for saves?
Junis
I bet that BaFoone didn’t even realize that Rice hit that Dinger off of a lefty, unless someone told him.
Haha
10 Team Rotisserie – 5 x 5
TGIF Grey,
How are my 1B/3B this bad?!? (Kurtz, Vinnie P, J. Naylor)
Don’t even get me started on pitching…Bradish, Woodruff, Eovaldi, Lodolo, Sheehan..sigh

They’re all awful
Looking for a longterm sagnof replacement for romano. You like Varland, DeLosSantos, or Kuhnel for ros?

Senor Grey!
I’ve got an intriguing trade, AL Only 8tm 5×5 ROTO
Vladdy
vs
Burger
Simpson
I’m last in SBs and Simpson looks good. Feels like a money ball move but could Simpson steal 40-50 bags this year?
Which side do you prefer and do you ever consider trading down Vlad?
Cheers!! Happy Friday!
-Jayrod
Vlad
Hey Grey, got offered Merrill for Cade Smith..
Would love to get some Jackson in my life but without Cade my RP’s would be Baker and Uribe, think I can manager in a Roto ? Or am I asking for trouble
Jackson
Is Ryan Walker droppable in 12 team dynasty 5×5…Killian is available…
Yes
44 players with at least one save available just on the waiver wire in my rcl. what are we even doing.
also, brief movie talk. i know you share my love of noir. ever seen out of the past? kirk douglass and robert mitchum both early career?
I haven’t, great?

For

Thanks
Gilbert
Need to drop one – Arigghetti, Soroka, D Martin, Senga, or Woodruff.
Thinking Martin. Which one would you drop?
Martin
In looking to add an sp – Abbott and Baz are just trash cans.
I have a GM asking for Marsee – he has chandler, luzardo and Michael king. Who would you ask for?
I’d take King, Bubba, Luzardo, that order
Judge and Mason Miller or Acuna, Belli and Messick. Need RP help and trying to consolidate OF.
Judge
Hey Grey! Happy Friday! I’m sure we all had Aaron Ashby projected as the first pitcher to get to 5 wins. That’s one more than all my SPs combined lol.
Haha
Closerpocalypse! Mason Miller is immune, but only because the Padres sacrificed their top prospect to ensure he would be immune. This is the way.
In other news, are we about to see all the prospects that are being clockblocked called up to the majors next week? I can’t figure out Super2, but then again neither can any of the other guys in my league. Eldridge, Snelling, and Max Clark all out there on waivers.
How probable is it that the service time manipulation leads to a few promotions next week?
Maybe!
Hey Grey, Happy Friday, man.
20 team h2h cat dynasty
Shane Baz or Chase Dollander?
Thanks for all the solid work, amigo.
Baz or Chase D. or Sean Burke?
Sorry. Gracias.
Chase
Dollander
Gracias
No problem
Happy Friday, Grey!
Pitching question, 10 tm redraft QS league.
Ashcraft and Roupp are on the FA wire. My staff is Eovaldi, Webb, EdCab, Weathers, Senga, Baz, Trevor Rogers, Gore, and Kyle Harrison. My drop front runners are Senga, Baz, and Harrison even though I’d like to see if Harrison bounces back once he’s not banged up.
I’ve only got one add left for the week, so would you make a move to replace anyone, and if so, what move would you make?
Thanks again and have a nice weekend!
Ashcraft over Harrison
12-team H2H. Only have one IL spot that’s already being taken by Hunter Brown. Okay to drop Pivetta with the assumption we likely won’t see him again this year? Pickup would likely be Cantillo.
Yes, drop
Hey Grey,
6×6 H2H, which side do you prefer:
Thanks!
CJ
HI Grey,
Would you drop Luis Castilla for Rouppe?
Thanks!
Mike.
I would
Yes
12 Team Keeper, 7×7 Roto (L & IP) extra pitching categories. Imai was dropped… is he worth the stash? Probably cutting an extra bench bat (Baty as a 23rd rounder is on the block).
Also monocle’ing Detmers… or do I just keep it a flexible streaming spot?
Sure on Imai
I like Detmers, looks good under hood
Great writeup and a Happy Friday!
16 team h2h keeper league.
We get seven SP weeklt. I’m running low on starts this week; Trevor Rogers and Boobitch F’ed up the few opportunities I had.
I can start Junk today vs. Milwaukee..I’m thinking why not after the other two stinkers?
What do you think? Thank you enjoy your weekend!
Yes, start, why not at this point?
Rank these free agent SPs I’m cyclopsing in my 12 teamer…Roup, Dollander, Junk, Lowder, Mlodzinski, Arrighetti. Detmers.
Roupp, Detmers, Chase D.
Any of these 3 over A. Abbott?
Roupp
Rayley, Burger, or Bauers. Thanks Grey
Burger
Good Morning,
Would you trade Schwarber and Palencia
For
Gilbert, shota, jazz?
Max muncy LAD or antonacci would become my util. Thanks
Sounds fair
Great. You made me imagine a guy in a karaoke bar doing “Cat’s in the Cradle” in an offensive Japanese accent, and now I have to report myself for a Thought Crime.
See you on Monday.
Haha
Foster Griffin??- at least buy her dinner first, AMIRIGHT?!?!
Yes, you are
Trade Stanton for gleyber? I have jazz and need another 2b option.
Sure
Also, who would you rather have at the catcher position ROS, Moreno or Del Castillo? Thank you
Moreno
Hi,
12 teams dynasty league :
C – Raleigh, Basallo
1B – Walker, Contreras
2B – Torres, Garcia
SS – Witt, Abrams, Griffin
3B – Caminero
OF – Acuna, Carroll, Alvarez, Langford
IL : Barger
Should I pick Mclain and drop either Garcia or Torres ?
Harris II is on waiver, I have #1 waiver pick. Would you pick him or my OF is deep enough ?
Thanks
Jogon
Gleyber
I’d use waiver on Harris
I happen to see Pasquatch homer and immediately thought of you then Wee-Bay. Wee Bay didn’t mind prison at all. Do you think Perazza might be breaking out or is this just a nice series against his old team. Funny to watch the yankees fans boo Ryan McMahon while Perazza went Taylor Ham.
Nice series, I think, but we’ll see
Hey Grey. Awesome Messick start yesterday. Hopefully he didn’t tire out the arm with that effort got him in the AL only Dynasty and 1 RCL. Also When is the first Cutline for RazzSlam and how many advance? Need my injured outfielders back darn it…
Not for a few months, question for Truss
Oswald Peraza or Casey Schmitt?
Oswald
Neil Diamond joke was just twisted and yet…I can’t look away.
Ha
If jazz is in danger of missing playing time, is Josh Naylor too? Trots out daily for another 0 for 4. Is he going to turn it around soon?
No
Morning G!
How much slack do you give a guy like McLain in a 12 team 5×5 redraft? I keep thinking he’s going to put it together. Love the speed, the home ballpark, and top of the lineup, but he has been brutal thus far.
Thanks!
-IANASM
He’s been bad for years
The Spring Training Batting Title should count for my fantasy team accolades. Perhaps a small group ceremony via text?
Unrelated, but I have never been bamboozled in my entire life. Can’t be fooled! Thanks G. Looking forward to the Buy column later. Have a great weekend!
HAHA, you too!
Hello Good man! Is Jake Burger considered an upgrade over House in a 12 team mixed 5×5 category league? Or Hold? Thanks always
I’d go Burger
Good stuff Grey, thanks. Please rank these starters ROS: E. Rod, Weathers and Abel. Thanks
Weathers, Abel
I just looked at corbin’s stat page. It’s ugly. Last year’s 4.4 era was his best in 6 years. If my dog could pitch left handed, she’d be an mlb starter.
Harry chapin Moments are all I live for.
HAHA
Good Morning Grey
Your advice please on this proposed trade
His Witt-Perdomo-Adell-L Castillo
My Turang-Neto-Walker-Bradley
10 team h2h
What side wins?
Thanks
Witt
I drafted Roupp and Dollander because I am. a genius. I have them both on the bench because I am an idiot. Gidiot is what a I am.
I am now terrified to put either player in the line up because once you leave a guy out for high quality starts you are pretty much guaranteed an Ober-ing when you put them back in.
HAHA, nothing good can happen from it
Mason Miller 9 1/3 IP, 23 K’s, 1hit, 1BB. ERA 0.00.
Wow!
insane
Negative Fip, xFip, siera. Is that good?
I think so
Grey!
Hate you man
You’re on #teamporkroll ? Blasphemous statements. Unforgivable, really
Just joshing, Stud. I actually just moved to the shoreline from north jersey so i guess im team pork roll now too, haha
I bow to our dolphin overlords
HAHA, imagine choosing taylor ham over pork roll wouldn’t be I!
Good Morning Grey,
Are you dropping Luis Castillo for Landon Roupp?
thanks…
Mike.
Yes
10tm 6×6 OBP/QS 1 Catcher
Catcher question.
Drop Basallo for Dingler?
Thanks
Sure
Chase Dollander.
Been paying attention. Really unsure what to do but grabbed because of talent.
I NEVER owned a COlorado pitcher in any form for their existences…
Small sample, but has ace stuff. Is he worth it more than a wait and see? Potential ace here?
I also have never owned a Colorado pitcher but just grabbed him. Because I’m in a Starter-limited league and he can gain points whilke not costing me a start. Years ago I did this with Spencer Strider (yea!) but dropped him once he beganstarting (boo!).
Not an ace, but potential #4
Mr Albright,
Happy FriYay! The Jersey write up had me CACKLING in the TSA line at 5AM. People were giving starring daggers because I was not miserable so I appreciate that.
Great stuff as always my friend. Seize the day!
Haha, safe travels!
14 teams
1. Should I be dropping Canzone, Garrett Mitchell or Durbin to be playing the hot hand such as a Raley, Peraza, Lee, Ozuba, B. Doyle (just got dropped)?
2. Should I be dropping Junk, Peterson or R. Lopez for Sproat or Dollander, Grant Holmes?
Hi Gray – Would it be reasonable to drop Yainer Diaz for Yahoo catcher-eligible Moises Ballesteros?
Sure
Have a great weekend. Thanks for all you do
Thanks!
They needed Messick to give up a second hit to make it a save situation for Cade!
He had surpassed Alcantara for the top start of the year, but then he pitched in the 9th. He still had the 2nd best start, but then he gave up another hit. He still had the 4th best start, but then Smith let the inherited runners score, and Parker ended up with the #19 start.
great observation- I often joke that, if managers played fantasy baseball, they would be better managers. By leaving in Messick, he lost 6 points. Thanks again for all your amazing stats!
The 100 Best Fantasy Starts list has updated, and it was actually scored the 15th best start.
I figured he was bumped down a bunch for those inherited runs…damn shame, but it is crazy that 2 ER even has him in the top 20, guess it’s still early, but that’s not a top 100 start by end of year, I’d imagine
Yeah, it shouldn’t make the top 100. George Kirby had 2 starts on the list last year (including #32) with 2 earned runs, but he recorded 14 strikeouts in each.
Damn, it’s time for some big starts already
