One of the first things you learn in Spanish language classes is how to roll your cars. You hit a corner as hard as you can and scream, “OYE!” [intern whispers in ear] You roll R’s? What does that even mean? The letter? I have a stack of resumes to replace you that goes from the floor to the ceiling in a normal-sized room. You’re trying to tell me I attempted to flip my Hyundai for five years straight when I could’ve just been pronouncing my R’s differently? How about this, “Durrrrrrrrrrr?” You got that R rolled?! So, the Mariners called up Michael Arroyo; his last name is a rolled car. Every week the M’s call up a top prospect. This is true. In Itch’s last top 50 prospects, he placed Arroyo at 45 and said previously, “Listed at 5’10” 160 pounds, Arroyo doesn’t make many jaws drop when he steps off the bus, but he’s always impressed plenty between the white lines. His 56-game stretch in Double-A wasn’t the stuff that fantasy dreams are made of, but his slash line of .255/.376/.341 with two home runs was good for a 123 wRC+ in a depressed setting for offense. In 121 games across two levels, he struck out 18.7 percent of the time with a 12.4 walk rate and a 139 wRC+. His ETA is listed at 2027 here, but he could push that pretty easily into this season if the need arises. And I’d like to push Grey pretty hard.” Not cool! That was from January, and Arroyo did push his way (plus injuries) into the majors. This year Arroyo went 18/17/.283 with a 16.4 K% and 8.1 BB%. He can play a bunch of different positions and has bankable fantasy skills. Not sure of his playing time this year, but I’d definitely be excited in keepers for 2027. Enough to hit a corner doing 85 and say Arroyo while rolling your car. Anyway, here’s what else I saw this weekend in fantasy baseball:
George Kirby – 6 2/3 IP, 3 ER, 8 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 4.18. Fine, sure, whatever final line but this was at home vs. a legitimately awful lineup. Next year all M’s starters are going to be great again and we’re gonna be like, “Did 2026 happen?” (While hoping 2027 happens.)
Bryan Woo – 8 IP, 0 ER, 1 hit, 2 walks, 9 Ks, ERA at 4.03. Woo, indeed.
Jeffrey Springs – 7 IP, 0 ER, 4 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 6.02. Nearly streamed him but I got cold feet when I saw his 6+ ERA. Put on some effin’ socks and get busy livin’ or get busy dyin’!
Anthony Molina – 5 IP, 0 ER, 2 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 2.79. Okay, A. Molina as Doc Ock, do your thing, but when a pitcher gives up a homer (as Molina did), I don’t care if he should’ve been out of the inning, due to an error, that should be an earned run. It’s the unwritten rules of the written rules. Streamonator hates his next one, but it’s home vs. Padres, and I could see trying it.
Zac Thornton – 5 IP, 6 ER, ERA at 3.53. Regression Fairies spending a Saturday afternoon inside Queens. Interesting.
Bo Bichette – 1-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 16th homer. He has twice as many homers as Vlad Jr. (And 16 times as many homers as Vlad Sr.)
Christian Scott – 4 2/3 IP, 2 ER, ERA at 3.81. Will have his workload monitored and, one love to whomever you pray to, but the Christian Scott Monitor sucks.
Trent Grisham – Hit the IL with a hammy strain, and Jasson Dominguez was recalled, but he has no place to play everyday, even before Aaron Judge returns this week. Yanks might want to trade Dominguez for literally anything they could use, just throwing it out there in case Brian Cashman gets hit on the head and, while he’s out and susceptible to subconscious thoughts seeping into his head, someone whispers to him this blurb.
Gerrit Cole – 7 IP, 4 ER, 6 hits, zero walks, 3 Ks, ERA at 3.41. Gerrit Cole is the only pitcher in MLB history to allow back-to-back-to-back home runs to the first three batters of a game more than once in a career. “I’d have that record if I knew anyone kept it.” That’s Patrick Corbin.
Robbie Ray – 2 1/3 IP, 5 ER, ERA at 3.39. He got his pants painted on for that? Blech.
Manny Machado – 1-for-3 and his 26th homer. Macho macho Machado!
Fernando Tatis Jr. – 1-for-4 and his 20th homer. Fun The Jewels has an outside chance at 25/40, and I have to say that’s how you rescue a season that seemed lost as late as July.
Michael King – 6 IP, 0 ER, 7 baserunners, 3 Ks, ERA at 3.00. Ya know what kind of season he’s having right? Oh, you betcha! He’s having one of those seasons where he’s great this year and then has a 5+ ERA next year, and everyone’s like, “Why?” You don’t evade regression for more than one year. (Another unwritten rule.)
Luis Campusano – 2-for-3, and his 7th homer, and his 2nd homer in three games. Hot schmotato alert!
Martin Perez – 3 2/3 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 3.25. Martin Perez flipped a coin into a well that was presided over by the Fratelli Crime Family, and wished for a season-long ERA under 3, but Mouth grabbed the coin and ended Perez’s wish. Goonies never die, but they could at least leave my fantasy starters’ wishes alone.
Ronald Acuña Jr. – 2-for-3, 4 RBIs and his 16th homer, and 2nd homer in two games, and third homer in four games. Tildaddy says it’s time to go!
Tyler Mahle – 6 IP, 0 ER, 5 baserunners, 3 Ks, ERA at 4.05. It’s truly amazing how the Shroud of Touki can fit so many different sized men.
Zack Wheeler – 6 IP, 1 ER, 5 baserunners, 9 Ks, ERA at 3.23. Not sure what was going in August, but Wheeler’s bounced back in two straight starts now.
Kyle Schwarber – 1-for-3, 2 runs and his 42nd homer, hitting .241. Schwarber is 2nd all-time for most homers with his new team after five seasons, only behind Babe Ruth. Last person behind Babe Ruth was Fatty Arbuckle. (I don’t know what that means, but just nod and be like, “Word.”)
Aaron Nola – 7 IP, 1 ER, 5 baserunners, 5 Ks, ERA at 4.76. Nola is putting together a 2nd half that is a true throwback to when he was great. Doesn’t look completely sustainable, but that’s whatever at this point. It’s September and he’s doing it, who cares if it’s sustainable. He had a 2.65 ERA in August with a 10.9 K/9, and is continuing the dominance.
Randy Dobnak – 6 IP, 1 ER, 4 hits, zero walks, 3 Ks, ERA at 2.54. You, a savvy man, drafts Paul Skenes for your H2H playoffs. Your leaguemate, a heathen, shows up late to the draft and farts loudly for three hours straight, drafting no one who even is in the league still, then picks up Randy Dobnak and beats you.
Vinnie Pasquantino – 1-for-3, 2 runs, 3 RBIs and his 11th homer. When he’s leading the league in homers next year with 45 homers through August and I have him nowhere, that’s when I will commit hari-kari.
Salvador Perez – 1-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 19th homer. He’s such a mess this year, but just wait until he has five homers and is hitting .175 next year through a half season.
Parker Messick – 6 IP, 3 ER, 9 baserunners, 12 Ks, ERA at 2.53. Next year, we draft only Rays, Guards and Phillies starters. Maybe Tigers’ starters too. Just not Framber Valdez (even if Saturday’s start was decent; 7 IP, 0 ER, 4 baserunners, 3 Ks, ERA at 4.17).
Gavin Williams – 6 IP, 2 ER, 7 baserunners, 11 Ks, ERA at 3.78. Gavin all my love to you!
Brayan Rocchio – 1-for-3 and his 13th homer, and three homers in the last four games. Hot schrocchio alert!
Jackson Jobe – 5 IP, 2 ER, 6 baserunners, 7 Ks, ERA at 4.45. Sitting on 7.1 K/9, 4.5 BB/9 for his career, which is to say, I know TINSTAPP, but this guy was supposed to be a top arm. Wha’ happened?
Ceddanne Rafaela – Hit the IL with a quad strain. Nate Eaton was recalled. He sounds hungry.
Sonny Gray – 7 IP, 0 ER, 6 baserunners, 7 Ks, ERA at 2.69. Gray is the color of my energy, whoa-ooh.
Payton Tolle – 6 IP, 1 ER, 4 hits, zero walks, 12 Ks, ERA at 3.15. Having the unfortunate timing of putting together a season that could win ROY some other years, but might not even place third this year.
Luis Robert Jr. – Hit the IL with LouBobitis. Sorry, I don’t mean to laugh at an injury. I’m sure he doesn’t want to be injured every sixteen hours, but alas.
Kyle Harrison – 3 2/3 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 3.66. Think I said he was clearly not startable after his last start, so what now? More unstartabler? The most unstartablest? The not startablest?
Jake Bauers – 1-for-2, 3 runs, 2 RBIs and his 24th homer, and a caught stealing for the slam and “I got no legs” from Kids.
Elly De La Cruz – 2-for-4, 4 RBIs and his 23rd homer, 2nd homer in two games. We have found a successful hypnotist to convince E! it’s the 1st half again.
Yusei Kikuchi – 6 IP, 0 ER, 8 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 4.96. Streamonator liked this start, but, if I’m being honest with you and Lisa Loeb (because Yusei…Stay), I wouldn’t have started Kikuchi.
Paul Skenes – 5 1/3 IP, 0 ER, 5 baserunners, 2 Ks, ERA at 3.83 vs. Walbert Urena – 8 IP, 1 ER, 4 baserunners, 4 Ks, ERA at 2.74. This matchup was billed as, “Skenes looks solid, then gets out-pitched by some guy named Walbert, taking all the wind out of the sails and what’s a Pirate without wind in his sails? Argh of luck. Take it, Highlights, it’s yours!”
Drew Rasmussen – 7 IP, 1 ER, 3 hits, zero walks, 7 Ks, ERA at 2.88. Not sure if I’m waiting for noisemakers and balloons to fall from the ceiling, but it still doesn’t feel like he’s properly appreciated.
Ian Seymour – 3 IP, 3 ER, ERA at 4.33. Dianne Wiest putting her finger up to his statline’s lips and saying, “Shhh, Sey-less.”
Jake Burger – 2-for-4, 3 runs, 3 RBIs and his 24th and 25th homer. Burger gonna eat!
Byron Buxton – Needs hip surgery this offseason. As the Twins’ doctor said, “He’s got granny hips.”
Joe Ryan – Sounds like he could return today. He only threw 42 pitches in his last rehab start, so, as Shruggy the Emoji says, shrug. I don’t know, maybe he goes three to four innings?
Munetaka Murakami – 1-for-5, 1 RBI, hitting .211. Currently him and Colson Montgomery (both homered on Saturday and struck out a lot) are leading the majors in strikeout rate. Last teammates to do that were Rob Deer and Travis Fryman. That year, Fryman’s K% was only 24.3%! League average is only 22.1%!
Shohei Ohtani – Dodgers said he’ll be back in the lineup for their next game, but, while not being ruled out from pitching this season, Dave Roberts said, “We can all do the math.” Actually, Mark Walter is hoping no one can do math.
Dalton Rushing – Hit the IL again with his elbow issue, and won’t catch the rest of this season. Also, his imitation of Macho Man Savage’s elbow drop is on hold too.
Cade Cavalli – 6 IP, 2 ER, 4 hits, zero walks, 8 Ks, ERA at 3.12. He has a 10.5 K.9, 2.6 BB/9. He’s a number one now, who won’t be drafted as one in 2027.
Mookie Betts – 1-for-5, 4 RBIs and his 18th homer. Mookie Last-Night’s-Betts.
CJ Abrams – 1-for-4 and his 30th homer. Corange, it’s French for “will be 30/30.”
Corbin Carroll – 2-for-4, 1 run as he was dropped to fifth. I get it; he’s struggling. Dropping him to 5th is the answer how? Like how is getting a guy potentially fewer at-bats the answer? Is there some Magical Five Hole Genie?
Eduardo Rodriguez – 6 IP, 1 ER, 5 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 2.55. Pretty cool how I managed to stream EdRod for only his bad starts all year. Just have that touch, I guess.
Nolan Arenado – 1-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 22nd homer. At auction, I was able to buy a birthday card Werner Herzog gave to his 9-year-old niece that says, “Happy Birthday, as if any of this matters.” Come check it out, I have it haphazardly by this open window–NOOOOOO!!! Torenado!
Peter Lambert – 7 IP, 3 ER, 7 hits, zero walks, 6 Ks, ERA at 3.67. Peter Lambert, your start led to a no decision, or indecision, which haunts all men. Sorry, I still have Werner Herzog stuck in my head.
Yordan Alvarez – 1-for-5 and his 38th homer. I fear the Triple Crown is slipping away from Captain Woo Cubano in the 2nd half. Don’t worry, he won’t be completely bad until next year when we all draft him.
Javier Sanoja – 2-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and his 8th homer, and 2nd homer in five games. Sanoja, you are our American Idol!
Heriberto Hernandez – 2-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and a slam (24) and legs (11), hitting .230. Someone the other day commented that Heriberto could be young Tesocar and I sorta dismissed it because of how bad Stowers followed up his seeming breakout, but that commenter might be cooking with some smart stuff in their brain custard. If Heriberto can follow up this with a 30/15 season, young Teoscar is not a bad call. I don’t know if he can follow it up, though.
Pete Crow-Armstrong – 1-for-3, 2 RBIs and his 40th homer. He’s the first Cub to go 40/30; he’s only the 2nd lefty Cubs hitter to have 40 homers (Billy Williams) and only the 2nd Cub to hit 40 homers at 24 or younger (Ernie Banks). This takes nothing away from PCA, but it truly is hilarious how long the Cubs have been around and for how many decades they were so bad that 40 homers is this significant for them.
Clay Holmes – 4 1/3 IP, 8 ER, ERA at 2.83. H2H playoffs secured. Locked and loaded. Just need Holmes to shut down the Marlins, which should be as easy [snaps fingers] as [snaps fingers] apple [sees score] Crap.
Cooper Hjerpe – 4 IP, 0 ER, as he was called up. Hjerpe is an African flat bread, no? [seeing him] Oh, no, that’s not the case at all. Hjerpe is a piece of Ikea furniture. An end table, in fact. That has zero command (6.9 BB/9 in the minors), and I wouldn’t mess with in an NL-Only league.
Willi Castro – Hit the IL with plantar fasciitis. Any time a Castro is hurt, I think it’s the CIA.
Mickey Moniak – 2-for-4, 4 RBIs and his 22nd homer. Gonna make a mistake next year and draft Moniak everywhere and forget his platoon splits, until I’m reminded during the Rockies’ first road series (some time around July).
Jake McCarthy – 3-for-5, 2 runs, 3 RBIs and his 15th homer. What I said for Moniak, goes double for McCarthy. Making hypothetical mistakes already!
Hancel Rincon – Not sure if you heard but umpire Doug Eddings was doing The Ump Show on Friday and made Hancel straighten his hat, then apologized on Saturday. That’s right, Doug Eddings. This hat don’t straighten:

Walk-bert has a very pretty Statcast
Corbin burnes starting tomorrow at Kansas city. Would you start him?
Nah, he went 50-something pitches in his last rehab
You think it’s worth the start for the ratios?
He said no.
Drop canzone or Busch to activate judge?
Busch

Should I be looking to move on from anyone for this week?
1. For hitting Specifically thinking Tawa 4 Carrigg
2. For SP maybe not trust Bradish and pickup Jobe?
streamantor also loves Kade Anderson v Tex, but hasn’t been playing well.
or Drew Anderson v Min tomorrow
Drew isn’t bad, I’d go Jobe, Drew, Bradish, that order
1. Makes sense 2. Yes
Hello again!
Would you cut Luis Castillo to activate Emmet Sheehan for his start tonight vs. CIN?
thanks again
Nah, Sheehan’s been terrible
Five adds for this playoff week. Would you go “all in” on A’s hitters? I already have McNeil. I could drop Hicks (I also have Gasper for catcher) and one of Clemens or Melton (fading quickly) to add Gelof and Bolte. If I had to pick between them I guess I’d go Gelof because J-Ram is killing me at 3B. My OF right now is Alvarez, Spencer J, McCarthy, and either Clemens or Bellinger at Util.
Thoughts?
Sure, Hicks, Melton
Gonna start calling him Meltdown the way the past few starts have been going…
Hahaha
I really dislike Eury Perez
Yeah he sucks
Hi Grey,
I’m in the playoffs, 14 team league that scores R, HR, RBI, SB, K, OBP, SLG
I need a SS eligible player
For the playoffs, would you drop Tawa for Mclain, Holliday, Cronenworth, Gimenez, Story, Rocchio?
Rocchio
All the hard work comes down to this. Appreciate you
No problem good luck!
For next 2 weeks in a OPS league how would you rank Heriberto Hernandez, Gelof, Benge, Adell, Encarnacion strand, Teoscar Hernandez, lawerence butler, Culpepper, Eugenio suarez
Benge, Heriberto, Adell, Heriberto
Master are you starting Cameron at home vs arizona?
I would
Looks like the Mets might have their own version of Miz in Tong. 4 batters 4 Ks. Mother Immaculate
Any updates?
He just gave up a 3-run shot to Pauley…4ER in the 2nd. Yes, 5Ks, but also a 2 WHIP after 2.
Only a 2 WHIP, nice
Would you start or sit Trevor Rodgers at home vs Cleveland?
Thanks!!!!
Sure
Lol
Probably start
You didn’t answer lol.
Rest of season Heliot Ramos, Jonah Cox, or Hector Rodriguez? Need help across the board
Ramos
One more I’m wrestling with before games begin!
Kwan or Keith this week?
Kwan
Hi Grey,
Survived first round of H2H playoffs. Thanks for your help! Now I’m lining up starts for this week.
Who are the TWO best starts:
Zebby @DET
Molina vs SD
Imanaga vs PIT
Young @TOR
GrayRod @WSH
Jobe vs COL
Wesneski @TB
Pfaadt vs TEX
Can add in Baz vs CLE
Jobe and Baz
Na man, don’t use Baz.
Nice! Jobe, Wesneski
Oh great Grey,
need an OF this week for a pts league:
Bauers CHC(3); CIN(3)
Bellinger COL(3); NYM(3)
Bolte TOR(3); SEA(3)
Greene MIN(3); COL(3)
Merrill WAS(3); @SF(3)
Cody B
Grey,
H2H points league. Who’s going to score the most this week?
Eury home v. NYM and LAD or
Gavin @Min
Gavin
Adell or Joshua Baez
Adell
Hey Grey!
Which one do you start this week?
Jared Jones (@CHW)
Chase Burns (@MIL, @LAD)
Joey Cantillo (@BAL, @MIN)
None? I guess Cantillo
Who would you rather go with?
Zebby @DET
Will Warren vs.COL, will he limited? Used out of the pen for 2.1IP following Fried on Friday but had his best/longest start of the season the start before that. Warren slated to start Wednesday and Fried on Thursday this week so I don’t know if that makes it more evident they will just let him have a full start workload. He will be on a full 5 days rest after that relief appearance on Friday.
Zebby
Baz vs. CLE better than Zebby?
Trust a bit more
Feels like less of a blowup risk with Baz huh?
Yes, both are risky tho
Hell no, can’t start that guy.
Plus come on, he looks weird.
Holmes and Yoyo knocked me out of first place, (I meant Seymour), and whatever happened to Richard B Shull
Ouch
Who would you pick up if you were chasing saves/holds this week, Lavender or Bowlan? Thanks for all the tips!
Bowlan
Sonaja or edman
rumfield or burger
Edman
Burger
Spencer Jones…I assume we are in on him in 2027? Either way, where abouts in the 2027 OF ranks do you see him landing?
Yeah, I’ll like him, prolly around top 50 OF maybe? so, around like 150 overall ish
Trying to maintain my lead during my two week playoff semi-final round in my H2H matchup. We start 4 SP and 1RP for the week.
My current 4 SP:

Braxton Ashcraft @CHC (Imanage)
Taj Bradley vs CLE (Messick)
Kevin Gausman @MIL (Henderson)

Payton Tolle vs KC (Cameron)
Bench:

Taj Bradley vs CLE (Messick)
Kevin Gausman @MIL (Henderson)
Clay Holmes vs PIT (Skenes)
Ian Seymour vs HOU (Lambert)
Kyle Harrison vs CIN (Burns)
Hitter: Heriberto Hernandez
you have the 4 I’d start
Morning & Happy National Beer Lovers Day!
I feel like this holiday was made for me!
I made it to the Semi’s but could use a little help going up against the #1 team who somehow dealt with no major injuries all dang season…
Ok, got that out of my system. I snagged Pivetta who looks to be lined up for a great start today vs. WSH. Since he’s on my IL, i need to cut someone.
Full roster below:
C: C. Jenesen
1B: Luis Garcia
2B: Brooks Lee
3B: JRam
SS: CJ Abrams
IF: Areaez
OF: Carroll, Springer, Adell
UTL: J. Baez, T. Saggese
BN: Spencer Jones, D. Durbin
SP: C. Sanchez, H. Brown, G. Cole, Bradish, R. Suarez, Ashcraft, Eury Perez, F. Griffin, Jared Jones, Tyler Mahle
RP: Chapman, M. Monty, Kittredge
Thanks as always!
Haha — Sure, Saggese and play Durbin
Thank you!
Saggese is also playing today @ SF (vs. L. Webb) if that changes anything for ya.
Thanks again!
Meh, not really…only other option is to let Pivetta start without activating him and see how he does because he only threw 64 pitches in his rehab
Great point. I wasn’t aware he only threw 64 pitches his last time out.
As an aside, you holding Durbun after today in hopes he turns it around or is he relegated to ww fodder?
Thanks again (again)
You can lose Durbin if he does nothing today
Happy beer day!
Mr G! Had a killer year and then wet the bed to not lock the bye 1st round. Oh well. My starters failed me after Cease. So my question is which 2 start SP would play along side of Dylan? Melton (mn and col), Burke (pit StL meh), Eury (nym lad) or Painter (Hou alt) ???
Thoughts o’wise one? Thanks & cheers!
Melton, Painter
Great! Yeah was leaning Meltshow… thanks and hope you have a nice rest of the holiday today! ‘Preciate you as always!!!
You too!
Championship: 2nd week of a 2-week match-up (weekly league)
Start 2 of these:
Ashcraft @CHC
Joe Ryan @DET, CLE
Bryce Miller TEX, @ATH
The two-starts are tempting, but not without serious warts.
Thoughts?
Thank you.
answered
Would you drop Mayo or CES to pick up Spencer Jones?
Mayo
Championship: 2nd week of a 2-week match-up (weekly league)
Start 2 of these:
Ashcraft @CHC
Joe Ryan @DET, CLE
Bryce Miller TEX, @ATH
The two-starts are tempting, but not without serious warts.
Thoughts?
Thank you.
Ryan, Miller, yuck, terrible choices
1) Which of these outfielders would you start?
Kwan – @BAL, @MIN
Marsee – NYM, LAD
2) Best utility bat?
Yainer – @PHI, @TB
Rumfield – @NYY, @DET
3) Start at 3B?
Keith – @MIN, COL
Arenado – @KC, TEX
P. Ramirez – @MIL, PIT
Royce Lewis – @DET, CLE
Thanks Grey! Been a fun season. Normally I’ve logged off Fantrax by now but my scrappy team is still playing.
Kwan
Rumfield
Arenado
Good luck!
Please sir, may I have another?
Points league with hitters +1 BB, -1 K. I’m torn between these two…
Aranda 3 @ ATL, 3 v HOU. Hot bat. Much better vs RHPs. Only one LHP (Martin Perez) and the RHPs are G. Holmes, R. Lopez, Pecko, Lambert, and Wesneski. X-factor: tends to get a day off each week.
Rumfield 3 @ NYY, 3 @ DET. Hot bat. Even splits. Good avg & obp on road, but slg is lower. Schlittler, Fried, Warren, Valdez, Jobe, Melton.
Thanks again, next boba on me.
Thanks! Aranda
Hi Grey, I have three excellent pitchers for today, at least in theory. But I’m not confident in any of the three because of their recent performances, their opponents, or because they’re coming back from injury. I’d like to know your opinion.
Euri Perez vs NYM
Burns @ LAD
Pivetta vs WAS
PD. Its first week of playoffs
I’d only start Eury
Deciding on final rotation spot for this week:
Jobe @ home vs Rockies
or
Wesneski (2 starts) @PHI / @TB
Jobe
Like the matchup, time for him to show up
Thanks, best to you
Same to you!
Championship matchup! 2 week playoff.
Total IP, Total K, QS
Start 2:
Mahle vs Phi
Pivetta vs Was & @ SF
Trevor Rogers vs Cle & @ Tor
Corbin Burnes @ KC
Freddy KBB @ Atl
Those 2-starts are calling me. I’m so excited, I’m so excited, I’m so scared!
Mahle, Rogers
Couple of start sit questions for ya:
1. Start or sit Cameron at home vs the Dbacks?
2. Start or sit Logan Webb at home vs the Cards?
Thanks as always for the help!
1. Start 2. Start
Detroit did not throw a pitch while trailing in the series, yet dropped three of four to Cleveland.
Sounds like a riddle
How? Do I need more coffee?
3 walkoffs I believe.
Crazy
Correct. In those 3 games they lost on a walkoff, they were never behind until the end.
Ha, woooof
GMan. Snuck into the playoffs round 1
My opponent is currently going reliever heavy but I could see him adding another starter or two before first pitch.
Which 3 of the below would you go with to round out my rotation? I included streamonator ($ / $/G) but idk what’s more important this time of year
Landon Roupp vs STL ($0.9 / 14.1)
Casey Mize vs WSH ($4.5 / 20.5)
Patrick Sandoval vs LAA (-$3.0 / 1.6) – picked up for 2 starts but looks like only 1 now
Hayden Wesneski @ PHI, @ TB ($5.5 / -4.9)
Jacob Lopez vs TOR, vs SEA ($4.0 / -8.0)
Ian Seymour vs HOU ($1.0 / 13.2)
Nick Pivetta vs WSH, @ SF ($28.4 / 22.6) – assume he’s on a pitch count
Additionally, do we trust Gasper to keep hitting for BOS with Contreras eligible to come back on Wednesday? Or should I go with one of the below instead at UTIL?
Gapser LAA3, KC3 ($11.0)
Trevor Story LAA3, KC3 ($11.6)
Canzone TEX3, @ATH3 ($10.9)
Saggesse @SF3, CHW3 (-$2.6)
Eldridge STL3, SD3 ($5.1)
Thanks FML
Wesneski, Seymour, Roupp
I’d go Gasper
who do we like this week for saves/holds?
Morejon 3 v WAS, 3 @ SF (given up 4 ER in last 3 IP, looked bad yesterday)
Kittredge 3 v CLE, 3 @ TOR
Senga 3 @ MIA, 3 @ NYY (6 for 6 on saves, but Devin Williams may return this week?)
J. Morillo 3 @ KC, 3 v TEX (won’t pitch today after b2b appearances so it’s 5 games instead of 6 for him)
Kittredge
Which of the following would you start today (or neither, or both):
Webb home vs STL
Boyd away at MIL
Thanks!
Webb
Thanks! Steering clear of Boyd in a 12 team member mixed league?
Doesn’t seem worth it
Stott or gelof?
Gelof

Do I drop Chase DeLauter or Cags?!
I’m looking at Wesneski and Rumfield.
And hey thanks for helping me get back to a championship!
Been a follower for over a decade! Want to say 15 years…dont know how long you’ve been at this?!
But, I really appreciate all you do!
Chase — nice! Let’s get you the win! Appreciate you!
With three weeks left, I have 195 innings in my bank to use to get me to my league’s 1450-inning cap. We do have a 10-inning buffer in case I go over. My current staff:
SP: I. Seymour, C. Scott, R. Suarez, P. Messick, F. Valdez, G. Jax
RP: R. Iglesias, L. Weaver, E. Sabrowski, D. Duarte
Long-RP: DL Hall, AJ Blubaugh, S. Newcomb, G. Graffeco
I don’t plan on dropping any starters since it’s a dynasty league. However, I do plan on dropping 1-2 of my long relievers after they pitch next and reloading with someone else. With 195 innings saved up, do you think I have enough to stream at least one pitcher every single day for the remainder of the season? I always struggle with the long-range planning here of total numbers late in September.
That’s a lot of streaming to get you there, so it’s gonna be tight…60/week is a lot, so just less maybe?
Thanks. I’d rather not have any extra innings, just in case I’m leaving needed points on the table. Would you suggest only using good matchups or be aggressive and pick best available daily?
At the very least, I want to add the best daily so that the guy chasing me can’t have him.
Be aggressive, try and use your IP
Happy Labor Day Grey!
Hope it’s a relaxing one!
Coming off my first round bye, looking to make the championship round. QS H2H league where longer pitching starts matters, OBP league.
My pitching options- I am planning to start:
Jacob Lopez (vs TOR and SEA)
Painter (@ATL vs HOU)
Trev Rogers (vs CLE @TOR)
Tolle (vs KC)
Who should I start with my last slot from:
Ashcraft (@Cubs, and was pulled after 67 pitches last start)
Detmers (@BOS, but has looked the best recently of all these 5th options)
Taj (vs CLE, are we getting Taj Mah Ace or Taj Meh Ass?)
Harrison (vs CIN, robot likes this one best but like you said for multiple week now, not startable and I agree)
Mahle (vs PHI, matchup is a bit intimidating but I could be convinced to start Mahle)
And finally:
Still ok to start Spencer Jones this week with Judge coming back? My other options are Tristan Peters (vs PIT and @STL), Tawa (vs TEX @ KC), or Walter Jenkins (@DET, vs CLE)
Thanks as always- have a fantastic week and hope you make your championship rounds!
Thanks! Taj or Mahle…Taj Mahle? I’d go Taj
I’d go Jones

Jac Cags 6 games AZ /@BOS
3) SPs. Need top 2:
Jacob Lopez 2 starts TOR / SEA

Thanks!
LG
France
Bolte, Lile
Not Rogers — good luck!
Grey – big thanks as always for the guidance you provide to everyone here. Your daily updates have been a part of my routine for year. You helped get me to championship week again!
1. how would you rank these starter for streaming for this week and any you would outright avoid? Peralta @ATL, Roupp bs Cards, Baz vs Clev, Buehler vs Wash
2. Who among Dodd (playing rays and Philly this week), Lavender (playing Miami and NYT), Trent (playing cards and SD) is best option this week for holds where I’d be dropping Sommers
3. Which hot bat is worth burning one of my 6 moves to add Jensen (playing against AZ and @Boston) or Gasper (playing against LAA and KC) over Kirk for this week?
4. Worth running Joe Ryan out there if he goes today or only leaves me vulnerable to a loss? And better to drop and use for stream spot?
Thanks! Good luck! 1. Roupp, Baz, Buehler, I wouldn’t start Freddy 2. Trent 3. Meh, use your moves elsewhere 4. Stream
Playoff Housekeeping
Dingler or Mickey Gaspar?
Sit Kyle Harrison for Detmers?
Gasper — I wouldn’t start Harrison anywhere
So many two-start pitchers on my roster this week! Which 3 would you throw?
Bibee – @BAL, CHW
Boyd – @MIL, PIT
Wesneski – @PHI, @TB
Painter – HOU, @ATL
Any of these one-start guys better options than above? I’m leaving Roupp over Bibee
Roupp vs. STL
Montero vs. MIN
N. Martinez vs. HOU
Leaning*
Roupp, Wesneski, Painter
Hey Hey, Grey!
Any thoughts on McGonigle? Looked like a league-winning pickup for four months, and now looks . . . gassed. Droppable? Bench-and-seeable?
Lurveyas!
Could see dropping him if you have better options…lurves!
Benched him. First at bat, home run. Why is it always this way?
Ouch
I think Heriberto Hernandez is a great sleeper next year, but you def. gave me pause on my Teoscar read when you brought up Stowers haha. Maybe he can at least be this year’s Canzone, if not 2024’s Teoscar next year? The Teoscar for the best 2027 sleeper goes tooooo….Heriberto “Canzone” Hernandez. Make sure you write that sleeper and will it into existence!! He really does remind me of that toolsy, pre-breakpout Teoscar circa 2018, though.
PS: Try to will a season into existence next season, first ha
Haha
Hahaha, yes!
Love the weekend review. Thanks for writing! Got one util spot and four options:
Peters
Pasquantino
Bolte
Canzone
Please rank and thanks!
Vinnie, Bolte, thanks
Woo gave Seattle their 8th entry on the 100 Best Fantasy Starts list. All but 1 occurred at home:
24 Bryan Woo Sep 6 vs ATH
27 Logan Gilbert Jul 4 vs TOR
37 Bryan Woo May 30 vs ARI
45 Emerson Hancock Mar 29 vs CLE
48 Bryce Miller Jul 2 vs LAA
70 Logan Gilbert Jun 16 vs BAL
82 Bryan Woo Jun 18 vs BAL
99 Bryce Miller Jun 6 @DET
There’s a 5-way tie at #99 for the line to beat:
6IP/0 ER/3 BR/9 K.
Thanks, Vin!
If Woo helps me win a championship after such a dud season so far, all is forgiven. Captain Woo Hibachi!
That was 4 perfect innings for Hjerpe! With 6 strikeouts! Saved the beleaguered bullpen. Well, Stanek came in and turned it into a save situation for Soriano.
Also, McCarthy was not credited with a stolen base – the Cards showed their normal defensive indifference.
I could’ve sworn I saw him credited with a SB but you’re right, will fix
It’s possible it was a scoring change. Since it would have been his 30th, like you said, I certainly believe you read it.
Yeah, must’ve changed it afterwards
Can’t give up a stolen base if you just don’t bother to cover the bag. 0% success rate. *Smart guy tapping his brain meme*
Haha
Haha
OK, 16 times 0 is 0. Unless Vlad Sr. hit a HR this year I didn’t hear about. (I looked it up. He didn’t).
HAHA, fair
I bet Big Vlad could still hit a 420 ft bomb in a celebrity softball game.
Hey Grey! Final round of the playoffs are this week and next week in my league. We set weekly lineups and can no longer add players from the waiver wire but can make lineup changes for week 2. I have a couple of decisions to make that I keep on going back and forth on. Please be the syrup to my waffle…
UTIL – K. Griffin or M. Moniak. Both play all games on the road this week and Moniak faces 2 LHP.
For pitching…what do I do with G. Kirby? Dude has a great team matchup but is on the road against the Athletics. If I don’t start him, my other options are K. Bradish @TOR, G. Jax @ATL, or A. Nola @ATL.
To add another layer to this problem…if I don’t start him, I have to drop either him or Jax/Nola because his salary will make my bench $ over the cap.
Given the options, is it best to start Kirby for at least one more week and hope for the best?
Thanks Grey
Konnor
I’d start Kirby at home, nowhere else…Nola’s been solid
Would you start Nick Pivetta this week? Evidently, he’s starting tomorrow vs. Washington so I assume he’ll get a second start later in the week at San Francisco.
Nah
