It took us a few weeks, but we have arrived at the finale. We can finally wrap up the Couch Managers 2017 Industry Mock Draft recaps. It feels like just yesterday I was getting started on what was likely to be a 60,000-word article on all 23 rounds of this mock draft before Grey slapped me and told me to put down the bourbon and split this into multiple posts. Below, I’ll be posting the results of rounds 19-23, my thoughts on said results, and the final team for every owner.
In case you have yet to see my previous posts, here is a quick recap of the league rules for this mock:
This mock was for a 15-team, 5×5 roto, with 23 roster spots made up of 9 pitchers (9), 1 spot for each position (8), a second catcher (1), 2 more outfielders (2), one corner infielder (1), one middle infielder (1), and one utility position (1).

Now, let’s get rounds 19-23 out of the way so that we can get to the good stuff!

285 | 19 | Derek Norris | WSH | C | lawrm |
Round 19 thoughts: Quick, can someone figure out how to tag Grey in a post? Robbie Ray just went at 283. Grey currently has him ranked at 199. Great spot to grab Josh Harrison for some depth and positional versatility. Great spots to grab guys like Daniel Norris and Jordan Zimmerman, too, though obviously for different reasons. Derek Norris? Blegch.

299 | 20 | Corey Knebel | MIL | RP | @Tim_Heaney |
300 | 20 | Junior Guerra | MIL | SP | Paul Sporer |
Round 20 thoughts: I am a secret Kevin Pillar lover, so I really like getting him in the 20th round. He does a little bit of everything and not a lot of anything, except hit doubles and not take walks, but I love the guy. Nate Jones is a sneaky-good grab because Daniel Robertson is getting dealt at some point this season. It might be tomorrow, it might be in May, or it might be in July, but it’s happening.

314 | 21 | Ben Revere | LAA | OF | Doug Anderson |
315 | 21 | Brandon Finnegan | CIN | SP | lawrm |
Round 21 thoughts: I think I hate almost this entire round except for maybe Brandon Finnegan. Ben Revere could be a nice get if he falls into regular playing time with the Angels, which is not looking likely right now. Freddy Galvis is…you know what, let’s just move on.

329 | 22 | Travis Shaw | MIL | 3B | @Tim_Heaney |
330 | 22 | James McCann | DET | C | Paul Sporer |
Round 22 thoughts: Shelby Miller is a solid gamble here. I know that advanced metrics had kind of foreshadowed the struggles he had last year, but even Bill James wouldn’t have thought Miller would be that bad. 300+ is a fine time to gamble on Miller’s upside and hope he turns in a solid year. If he is going to struggle again, you’ll know pretty early into the season and will be able to look for someone else. You know the drill by now. Unless you focus on starting pitching early in your draft and sacrifice other positions, you are more than likely going to be streaming at least one of your starting pitching slots for most of the season. There is no risk here in grabbing Miller. Mikey likes. Jorge Soler in Kansas City at 319? Sure. I’ll give it a whirl. Alex Cobb? Why not. Travis Shaw? Meh, pass.
Pick | Rd. | Name | Team | Pos | Owner |
331 | 23 | Pablo Sandoval | BOS | 3B | Paul Sporer |

344 | 23 | Arodys Vizcaino | ATL | RP | Doug Anderson |
345 | 23 | Kendall Graveman | OAK | SP | lawrm |
Round 23 thoughts: I have very, very low expectations for Pablo Sandoval. But at 331 overall I definitely don’t hate Paul Sporer taking a flyer on him. The Michael Saunders pick looks better now that we know he is going to get regular playing time in Philadelphia in a tiny ballpark. That isn’t a bad flyer either. Lance Lynn? I like it. I like it a lot.
So, there you have it. All 23 rounds and 345 picks are in. I’ll post the complete teams below.
Here is a link to a spreadsheet with all of the results in order.
And here is every team, broken down by the available positions in this league:
So, there you have it. Who do you think has the best and worst teams? Overall, I’m pretty happy with how my team rounded out in comparison to the other teams. I like the Sporer, Heaney, and McLeod teams, too.
