What’s poppin’, Razzpimples?

Bullpen recap time!

Don’t forget to keep that Razzball Bullpen Chart bookmarked. It’s been updated with the latest, and I’m usually quick to get it touched up once any type of news drops. And if you’re not a subscriber, I do highly, highly, highly recommend it. The tools are — how do you say? — bussin’. If’n you’re of the mind to consider it, you can find all the info here. I’m partial to the Relievonator Game Log Tool. Truly a godsend for my nerdy backside.

Welp. Let’s do it to it, pardner.

Note: All stats and Player Rater values are accurate through Monday’s games.

2025 Leaders

Weekly Leaders

Weekly Losers

Weekly Notes:

Arizona Diamondbacks:

Justin Martinez 1 SV, 2 K. Shelby Miller had 1 HLD with 4 K. Looked strong metrics-wise.

Athletics of Sacramento?:

Only SVHD went to Mitch Spence. Most noteworthy feller was Justin Sterner for 4 BS+L. Oof. And nary a K! Double oof.

Atlanta Braves:

No SVHD from a Brave this week. Fwiw, I still have faith in Raisel Iglesias, and my next favorite arm has been Dylan Lee for a long time. He was great, bee tee dubya: 3 IP, 5 K, 30.4 SwStr%, 45.7 CSW%.

Baltimore Orioles:

Felix Bautista 2 SV, 5 K. Startin’ to look purty good. Gregory Soto 2 HLD, 2 K. He’s looked better over the last month than Cano, by a long shot. Andrew Kittredge is back and also scored a hold, but I’ll need to see more regular usage before jumping on that wagon.

Boston Red Sox:

Aroldis Chapman 1 SV, 1 BS, 5 K. Biggest news was Justin Slaten landing on the IL with a shoulder injury. Garrett Whitlock and Greg Weissert figure to see more holds as a result, and it was actually the latter leading the Sox with 2 HLD this past week (Whitlock had none but earned a win).

Chicago Cubs:

Daniel Palencia converted both chances this week, striking out three. Absolutely gotta roster him everywhere you can. Job is his. Brad Keller 1 W, 1 HLD, 1 K, great ratios but meh metrics. Like him a lot right now, regardless.

Chicago White Sox:

No SVHD this week. Cam Booser was AWOL this week and not sure why. He’s the only guy worth even one of your brain cells if you’re thinking about a White Sock.

Cincinnati Reds:

Emilio Pagan 1 SV, 2 K. Nothing else stood out.

Cleveland Guardians:

Emmanuel Clase 3 SV, 3 K. Looked vintage. Hunter Gaddis and Cade Smith each tallied 1 HLD. Gaddis had 6 K but got knocked around a little. At least his SIERA (1.28) looked good.

Colorado Rockies:

Zachary Agnos 1 SV, 1 K. Jake Bird 1 HLD, 4 K. That guy has seriously been just damn good so far in 2025. Can’t help but think a terrible second half is in store, cuz it sure seems like it’s been many a moon since a Rockie has put together a full season of sexiness.

Detroit Tigers:

Will Vest bagged 3 SV, while Tommy Kahnle had 1 SV and 2 HLD. Looks pretty clear that Vest is the SV-only guy you want. Both he and Kahnle are very strong SVHD dudes at present. Not saddlin’ up with any other Tiger, however. Bound to be better fish in your pond.

Houston Astros:

Josh Hader 2 SV, 5 K. Another week of bloody red metrics on my sheet. Bryan Abreu 2 HLD, 3 K. Bryan King 1 HLD, 1 BS.

Kansas City Royals:

Carlos Estevez 2 SV, 2 K. Neeeeeeeext! Not interested in other Royals.

Los Angeles Angels:

Kenley Jansen 1 SV, 1 K. Poor Robert Stephenson, came back from injury just to pick up another. Missed a whole ass year because of Tommy John, and now he’s got an inflamed bicep. Hector Neris picked up a pair of holds, fwiw. Ryan Zeferjahn had 1 W, 1 HLD, 1 BS, and 1 L. Struck out 5. Ratios sucked. He’s starting to mostly suck lately.

Los Angeles Dodgers:

Tanner Scott is in a rough place. I’ll admit it. But I won’t admit that it’s time to cut him loose. Don’t let him turn into Tanner Scoot just yet, pard! Keep the faith. Man has been cream of the crop elite for two straight seasons and was mostly there for most of this one. He’ll probably snap out of it…unless there’s a tiny lil injury that’s about to show its ugly mug. Can’t operate on what-ifs, though. Just weather the storm for now. Ben Casparius and Jack Dreyer had 2 HLD. I like Casparius. Alex Vesia earned the only SV. I like him too.

Miami Marlins:

Calvin Faucher 2 SV, 0 K. Lol, that’s just so Marlins isn’t it? Ronny Henriquez got lots of love from me last week. Followed up with 1 W, 1 HLD, but also 1 BS. Good news is he K’d 5 and had strong metrics. Got no reason not to like what he’s cookin’ up.

Milwaukee Brewers:

Trevor Megill 2 SV, 2 K. Abner Uribe 2 HLD, 4 K. Those two and no one else.

Minnesota Twins:

Jhoan Duran 1 W , 1 SV, 3 K. Griffin Jax 1 HLD, 1 L, 5 K. Yeah, another loss. SO what. He’s fuggin’ awesome still. Yes, his metrics popped once again. Cuz he’s that dude.

New York Mets:

Edwin Diaz 1 W, 2 SV, 1 BS, 8 K. Even had a -2.26 FIP. That’s pretty serious shiz, pard. Reed Garrett 1 SV, 2 HLD, 7 K. Boy howdy he’s in fine form.

New York Yankees:

Luke Weaver hit the IL. Shucks. Devin Williams 1 SV, 1 HLD, 2 K. Will he become closer again in the meantime? Reckon I don’t rightly know. Fernando Cruz is back off the IL. Might figure into the mix. Jonathan Loaisiga (1 HLD) is kind of a thing again, too. Mark Leiter Jr. had 1 SV as well. Hard to figure the pecking order, I’m afraid.

Philadelphia Phillies:

Jordan Romano 2 SV, 5 K. Redemption season szn. Orion Kerkering 2 HLD, 1 BS, 1 L, 2 K. Earned those negative decisions without surrendering an earned run, poor feller. Matt Strahm 1 HLD, 1 BS, 2 K. He’s looking pretty bad lately. Remember his worrisome shoulder in Spring? Wonder if that’s about to be something we hear more about.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

David Bednar 1 SV, 3 K, empty ERA and WHIP. Solid week. Dennis Santana 1 HLD, 3 K. Very strong 41.2 CSW%. That dude has been hawt.

San Diego Padres:

Speaking of hawt…Robert Suarez 1 W, 2 SV, 6 K. Jason Adam 2 HLD, 1 L, 5 K. Jeremiah Estrada 1 SV, 1 HLD, 5 K.

Seattle Mariners:

Andres Munoz 1 W, 2 BS, 5 K. Just a minor hiccup. Was bound to happen. Been pretty much the best RP all season long. Matt Brash 2 HLD, 4 K. If he’s somehow still sleeping on your wire, wake him up.

San Francisco Giants:

Camilo Doval  2 SV, 2 K. Was officially named closer again, in case you missed that. Ryan Walker  2 HLD, 1 L, 3 K. To his credit, he looked better. Tyler Rogers 2 HLD, 5 K. Yep, 5 K! From the submarine guy!

St. Louis Cardinals:

Ryan Helsley 3 SV, 4 K. Excellent metrics across the board. Hope he’s finally turning that corner. Phil Maton 3 HLD, 3 K. I know Kyle Leahy was a hot commodity there for a minute or two, but it was Maton who was always posting the stronger metrics. Things are evening out, and Maton is the guy you really want if you can still get him for holds.

Tampa Bay Rays:

No SVHD this week from a Ray. Bummer. And because metrics can be so fun, here’s a fun fact: Garrett Cleavinger had a 16.58 FIP but a -0.29 SIERA. Those are from only a 0.2 IP sample, but still pretty ding dang bonkers.

Texas Rangers:

Yeah, I’ve totally heard of that Caleb Boushley guy who picked up a SV and struck out 4 for the Rangers this week! Totes. Robert Garcia also had 1 SV and 4 K. Shawn Armstrong had 1 HLD. He’s a very lukewarm holds guy.

Toronto Blue Jays:

Jeff Hoffman 2 SV, 4 K. Nice to see some better stuff this week even if the ERA was at 6.00. Yariel Rodriguez and Brendon Little each had 1 HLD. Little also scored a win.

Washington Nationals:

Kyle Finnegan 1 SV, 1 K. Boring otherwise. Andrew Chafin 1 HLD, 3 K. The ol’ sonuvagun veteran southpaw has 3 HLD and 13 K over his last month of play (9 IP). Not too shabby, I s’pose. Jose Ferrer had no holds but did earn a win.

That’s all for this week! Thanks for reading. Leave me a comment below so I feel all warm and fuzzy.

What about Luke Jackson in Texas? Hearing he should have dibs on the next opportunity but he isn’t even mentioned..

If Scott is removed from the role, you name Casparius and Vesia as potential grabs. What about Yates? Isn’t he due back soon?

Do think Cole Henry or Randy Rodriquez start getting save chances?…maybe Finnegan gets traded and Doval sucks again!

Great stuff JKJ!

I currently roster Finnegan, Justin Martinez and Megill in a 10 team H2H with saves only.

The wire is deep with Romano, Walker, Pressly, Ronny H, Bednar, Vesia

Keep my 3 or would you make any swaps?

Thanks!
