Rockies aren’t good at home anymore and it’s so funny. Like, that’s the joke. The Rockies. Excuse me, the Jokies. Is that a thing? It is now! Bud Black is a joke, the entire organization is a joke. From top to bottom, just jokey joke jokes. The Jokies’ owner, Dick Monfort says, “Can’t believe we’ve got Kris Bryant locked up until he’s 37. We are so smart,” as Monfort pushes on a door that says pull. Also, and I know I joke a lot about the Jokies, so I have to tell you this is absolutely true, Dick Monfort appointed one of the majors’ youngest scouting directors. Who is this overachiever? His son! He appointed his son the scouting director. What’s his qualifications? I just told you! He’s his son! Any hoo! Edward Cabrera (6 IP, 0 ER, 1 hit, 4 walks, 9 Ks) threw a gem in Coors, in his first start up with the team. The command is pretty worrisome here. In Triple-A, he had a 4.6 BB/9 with a 4.56 ERA. I’m actually surprised he was promoted. The stuff is electric, but he could have some absolute roofies. Outside of NL-Only, I’d be concerned. Anyway, here’s what else I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball:
Jazz Chisholm Jr. – 2-for-5, 2 runs, 4 RBIs and a slam (8) in the 1st game, and legs (8) in the 2nd game for the Ernie Banks Slam & Legs. Jazz should do a home run trot where he marches around the bases like Albert from Treme, the Mardi Gras Indian chief.
Garrett Cooper – 3-for-8, 2 runs, 3 RBIs, but left with an intercostal injury. So sad, too bad–So, what’s going on with Jerar Encarnacion? Ya know, the Marlins’ OF prospect who hits a home run every two games.
Jesus Sanchez – 4-for-8, 2 runs, 4 RBIs, and his 6th homer, and 2nd homer in three games. It’s not so much that all Marlins are hot as much as they’re in Coors.
Trevor Rogers – 3 2/3 IP, 5 ER, ERA at 5.80. I have a tear of blood slowly rolling down my cheek for the people who drafted Trevor Rogers and Robbie Ray. At a certain point, you just have to cut bait. Fish pun noted.
Brendan Rodgers – 4-for-8, 5 run, 4 RBIs, and his 3rd, 4th and 5th homer. Why can’t every game be a doubleheader in Coors that goes extra innings and against terrible relievers?
Luis Garcia – 1-for-4 as he was called up. There’s more Luis Garcias than Rocky movies. I will now compare them. Luis Garcia, the Astros pitcher, he’s Rocky 1. Clearly. Luis Garcia, the Padres’ reliever, he’s Rocky 2. I’m sure I saw it, but I can’t tell you what it was about. I mean, besides boxing. Luis Garcia, the Nats’ middle infielder who was just called up, he’s Rocky 3. Luis Garcia in the Jays’ system? I’m gonna go Rocky 6, because I don’t know if there is a Rocky 6 and I don’t know anything about that Luis Garcia. The Phils’ Luis Garcia? He’s all the Rockys. He’s from Philly! (This feels like a paragraph Bill Simmons would’ve wrote, if he still wrote things.) Now, I didn’t place Nats’ Luis Garcia as Rocky 3 by accident. I’m not punch-drunk. Rocky 1 was an Oscar movie; clear number one. But Rocky 3 has Hulk Hogan, and Mr. T, and, more importantly, Mr. T saying to Adrian, “Let’s bang!” It’s got it all! It’s a fan favorite, just as this Luis Garcia can be. Alcides is out, and sucks. The Nats didn’t promote Luis Garcia to not play him. In 79 Triple-A games, he went .309/.369/.562 with 21 HR and no speed. He has insanely great contact and decent power. Think Luis Arraez but with actual homers. I’m a fan.
Tomas Nido – 4-for-4, 1 run, 3 RBIs, hitting .253. The new Mets are a team that loses its starting catcher and has a new one show up and do better. Nido, indeedo.
Carlos Carrasco – 5 IP, 0 ER, 9 baserunners (5 BBs), 5 Ks, ERA at 3.63. Streamonator loved this start for Carrasco, and enjoys his next one too, and, with these new Mets unable to do anything wrong, maybe he’ll be fine, but this is not your slightly older brother’s Carrasco.
Kyle Wright – 6 IP, 0 ER, 8 baserunners (5 BBs), 5 Ks, ERA at 2.41. Been a while since I looked at his peripherals, so…*rolls sleeves up, reveals my “I love Adalberto” tattoo, rolls sleeves back down*…He has a 10 K/9, 3.5 BB/9 and a 3.30 xFIP. So, yes, he’s not as good as his 2.45 ERA, but also not wildly overperforming. Likely closer to a 3.50 ERA pitcher than what he’s showing, but the Ks are nice, and if he can command his pitches better, things could become better still.
Austin Riley – 2-for-5, 3 RBIs and his 13th homer, and 3rd homer in four games and who cares? I only care about Matt Olson (0-for-4, 1 RBI)! Why didn’t he stay hot?! Did someone curse him? Am I cursed?! Someone tell me!
Jean Segura – Expected to miss 12 weeks. He should be back in time for the Phils to make that final playoff push (assuming there was a late addition to the CBA that isn’t public yet that says 28 teams make the playoffs).
Aaron Nola – 6 IP, 5 ER, 5 hits, zero walks, 5 Ks, ERA at 3.92. It’s so cute how the Phils play the first 8 innings of a game, when everyone knows it’s going to come down to whether or not Corey Knebel can figure out his shizz. Yesterday, he did, and got his 9th save with a clean 9th.
Kyle Schwarber – 2-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 12th homer. Is it time for one of his patented 15 homers in a month rampages?
Wilmer Flores – 1-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 6th homer, as he bats third. Giants’ lineup is a challenge to see how weird it can get and they can still win. Donovan Walton playing 2nd? Wait…Did I make up that name? Maybe! He’s no Jason Vosler, I’ll tell ya that! Who? Doesn’t matter. Well, not until he’s randomly hitting .350.
Harold Castro – 2-for-3, 1 run, 2 RBIs, hitting .315. I talk a lot about failed picks/teams, but I have Castro in one league where I’m going back and forth out of first place, and he’s been a lifesaver with Wander going down. Also, Castro will be in this Friday’s Buy, which is available now on Patreon.
Tarik Skubal – 7 IP, 0 ER, 2 hits, 1 walk, 6 Ks, ERA at 2.15. Casey Mize? Not sure, don’t care. Matt Manning? Unsure, don’t care. Skubal? Yeah, that’s where it’s at. Tarik Skubal literally started a job at the butter factory and is giving guided tours.
Bailey Ober – 6 IP, 5 ER, ERA at 4.01. You gotta do better than that vs. the Tigers, who are collectively hitting .223, and worse than the Pirates. C’mon, Ober, don’t make me reach for the remote control.
Robbie Ray – 5 IP, 4 ER, 9 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 4.93. Wow, does he suck. I mean, vs. the Orioles? This feels like a nightmare. Is this real life? Someone pinch me. Not literally! Stop touching me!
Rougned Odor – 1-for-3, 2 runs, 3 RBIs and his 5th homer. He homered off that meatball purveyor Robbie Ray.
Ryan Mountcastle – 1-for-2, 2 runs and his 7th homer. Just looking at Ray in those tight pants got a rise out everyone’s balls.
Trey Mancini – 2-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and his 4th homer. Did the O’s move their fences back in, but just for their at-bats?
Ramon Urias – 1-for-4 and his 5th homer. He’s been a hot schmotato going on two weeks. Cust kayin’.
Grayson Rodriguez – Left yesterday’s start with right lat discomfort. Pain. For me. Well, I’m sure for him too.
Michael Kopech – 3 IP, 5 ER, ERA at 2.20. The Regression Fairies have started wearing white again after Memorial Day, and they will destroy your ratios.
Jose Abreu – 2-for-4, 2 RBIs and his 6th homer. Dude got so old so fast. He looks older than Nelson Cruz. Hey, is Abreu actually Nelson Cruz Sr.?
A.J. Pollock – 2-for-4 and his 3rd homer. Surprised Pollock’s not having his best season in Chicago, surrounded by so many Cheeburger Cheeburger Cheeburger guys.
Danny Jansen – 1-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 7th homer. What’s that, if you drafted only the Jays catchers — Jansen and Kirk — you’d be doing better than Vlad, Bo and Teoscar? Haha, not quite! (But close.)
Santiago Espinal – 1-for-4 and his 3rd homer, as he hit leadoff. Sounds like in Canada they speak Espinal!
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. – 2-for-5, 2 RBIs and his 10th homer. Cake Batter risin’! Please keep risin’!
Hunter Greene – 3 2/3 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 6.19. He was cruising early, all Ks, no walks, no homers, then he continued to not allow homers or walks and he still unraveled.
Garrett Whitlock – 6 IP, 0 ER, 5 baserunners, 0 Ks, ERA at 3.02. He had a 10.2 K/9 going into this game. Betting zero Ks from Whitlock vs. the Reds would’ve been like a 12,000 to 1 bet.
Craig Kimbrel – Working to clean up his mechanics. No wonder, right now his mechanics look like a very hairy McDonald’s. Daniel Hudson wouldn’t be a bad stash for Kimbrel owners and just your all-around save vultures.
Jose Quintana – 4 1/3 IP, 2 ER, ERA at 2.32. If I would’ve drafted Quintana in the 4th round of drafts instead of Robbie Ray, I’d be doing so much better. That is funny to me like sitting on a flaming porcupine.
Bryan Reynolds – 2-for-3, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and a slam (8) and legs (3), and his 2nd homer in two games, and three homers in four games and, well, oddly enough, all he seems to be doing recently is homering, as he hits .220.
Jason Alexander – 7 IP, 2 ER, 10 baserunners, 3 Ks, as he was called up. It’s the Summer of George! Jason Alexander was seen wearing his hat backwards and saying, “I’m so down,” to whatever Corbin Burnes said.
Jon Gray – 7 IP, 1 ER, 5 baserunners, 12 Ks, ERA at 4.83. Whoa, there pardner. There’s only one Big Dog, Fancy Pantsed Grey, and he’s got a mustache and talks about baseball, but doesn’t play it. Okay? Funny how one great game can still take yawnstipating peripherals and make them seem in-line with norms. Not haha funny. Streamonator loved yesterday’s start, and is meh on his next, and I kinda agree, but if he’s available, he’s worth grabbing to see if this is the start of great things. Like most Greys.
Jeffrey Springs – 5 IP, 2 ER, 6 baserunners, 7 Ks, ERA at 1.88. People continue to want to drop Springs, and everyone’s situations are different, but I see Springs on my team with Robbie Ray, and I’m glad I have Springs!
Colin Poche – 1 IP, 0 ER, ERA at 1.59, as he blew the save, but got the win. This is kinda irrelevant, but I found it funny. The Rays pitched seven guys yesterday. Not one had an ERA over 2.70, and five of them were under 1.88. They could take the Phils’ bullpen guys and make them Mariano Rivera.
Justin Verlander – 7 IP, 3 ER, 4 baserunners, 6 Ks, ERA at 2.23 as he was outpitched by Cole Irvin – 5 2/3 IP, 1 ER, 8 baserunners, 2 Ks, ERA at 2.96, which is why I couldn’t vote Verlander into the Hall of Fame and instead wrote in Irvin’s name. Okay, goofing aside, I went to look at Irvin’s player page, and I cackled. His K/9 is 5.5. Uh…huh?
Dany Jimenez – 2/3 IP, 4 ER, ERA at 3.92. Pimply-faced teenager runs into frame, “Watch out! Dany Jimenez is falling back to earth!” Maybe the A’s will randomly turn to A.J. Puk, or *puke* Trivino. Though, Dany’s prolly earned enough rope to be sucky a few more times.
Konnor Pilkington – 5 IP, 0 ER, 7 baserunners, 8 Ks, ERA at 2.65. Konnor Pilkington was previously known to American audiences for a podcast he co-hosted with Ricky Gervais. I wouldn’t pick up Pilkington if, by some crazy chance, the Streamonator liked a matchup of his.
Yu Darvish – 7 2/3 IP, 5 ER, ERA at 4.03. Hey, it’s 2021 Darvish. Hey, 2021 Darvish, say hello to your mother for me!
Luke Voit – 1-for-3 and his 4th homer. After he hit that homer, he screamed to his old club, the Cards. “You could’ve had this!” Cards, rightfully, must’ve been upset, as the .217-hitting Voit rounded the bases.
Nolan Arenado – 3-for-4, 2 runs, 3 RBIs and his 10th homer. They opened grandma’s urn and gave each grandchild some of her ashes. Please, let me showing you the mound I got, it’s over by this open window–NOOOO!!! Torenado!
Dakota Hudson – 7 IP, 1 ER, 5 baserunners, 3 Ks, ERA at 2.96. My preseason thinking: “Every Cards starter is always good. I don’t know why. They just are.” Where I went wrong: “Which is why I drafted Steven Matz.”
Nick Wittgren – 1/3 IP, 0 ER, ERA at 5.30, as he got the save. Gallegos and Helsley were both used recently, so Wittgren pitched, nothing to see here. Well, there is a fun fact! Wittgren is a shot of what I like to add to my smoothie.
Hi Grey,
1. would you start or sit St. Louis’ Mike Mikolas at Wrigley?
2. would you start or sit AZ’s Merrill Kelly at Pittsburgh?
3. Would you start or or sit the Dodgers Tyler Anderson at home against the the Mets?
thanks!
Martin
trammell doing well this time around, even taking almost a BB a day.
I was offered 2B/OF J. McNeil for my P Joe Ryan. I could use some offensive help, but I really like Ryan. Does that seem like a fair swap? Thanks!
Hey Grey – which Oriole do you like best? Santander, Mountcastle or Mancini
How valuable do you think DeGrom will be ROS and next year?
I’m considering a trade in a 12 team 5×5 roto league with 5 keepers (no cost). What do you think? I’m in the middle of the pack in the current standings.
I trade (none can be kept next year):
Freeman
Bogaerts
T Houck
R Contreras
For:
Rizzo
C Joe
Nola (can be kept)
DeGrom (can be kept)
He’s now offering just Nola for Bogaerts. That might be a fair trade.
A) Do you think Estrada will continue to steal bases? That is his most valuable contribution so far.
B) Which IF to drop, Estrada or Drury?
A. Wouldn’t count on it
B. Drury
good god, unless something goes really bad here shortly ashcraft (who was streamed by somebody in his first start, left out there in his 2nd and i sucked him up a day early for his 3rd and even i almost missed he was out there (ALWAYS LEAVE A NOTE)) will be the easily best thing that’s happened to my pitching in NL only in a while:
have these:
SP: t.rogers (ok, i know he’s regress from over-innings last year but still, yuck, at least he didn’t cost that much here), ranger (yikes so far), rodon the monster (i paid for him though), houser, n-mart, t.anderson (ok, HE’s the biggest get but i’ve had him a while now), k.gibson
IR: matz, clevinger, bender, treinen (he really hurts, this is holds/saves separate here, but i paid up for top 10 for NL only RP price and barely played all year just before the kimbrel signing)
i don’t even mind the seemingly lack of K upside (today is fine) but somebody doing well at CIN for pitching prospects (lodolo was looking better before injured, but i had a good bit of h.greene in non dynasties weeks ago threw away) in that park is a welcome sight. itch had us thinking b.williamson would’ve been up where ashcraft was (or at least more likely)
that 8 HR allowed game (might’ve only been 5 or 6 i guess, cause that’s so much better right) by greene was the last straw for me in non dynasties. maybe he ends up like eovaldi (which took what like 6 extra years or something)
Was brutal, yeah
Haha, same on Ashcraft
Grey,
Who do you think are the two best IL stashes of these 3? Already have Freddy Peralta on IL.. H2H category league…
Flaherty
Luzardo
Sonny Gray
Not Luzardo
Thank you!
No problem
Drop Grayson for strider,Kirby, stroman or hold ? 12 team redraft
Kirby
Just noticed Mahle also available
Grey,
Should we consider Skubal a bonafide ace at this point?
Not quite there yet
I read that O’Neil is starting his rehab (-> ETA 2 weeks). One knows what bad teams he has when the cut (in each of 4 teams) is “don’t care — pick one of three.
Similar with Baz (3 leaues).
Cool
Not for nuthin grey….I wanna see splits when Andrew Vaughn hits 2nd vs 7th or lower…Larissa is a drunk moron…one man’s 2 cents
Oh no doubt, La Russa is an idiot
This season batting 2nd he’s 12/48 (.250) with 3 HRs. Batting 7th or lower he is 11/31 (.355) with 2 HRs.
Shoot, bat him ninth then
Luis Garcia or Yepez ROS? Thanks.
Garcia
Another SP who should have left after 90 pitches. Hope Manoah still gets the win.
Same, same
It’s so obvious
Thanks for your trade advice a bit earlier. I accepted Gleyber and Walsh for Holmes and Joe. I need hitting, power. Holmes good but I also have Hader and Diaz so hoping the saves department will stay solid. What do you think of this deal?
Sounds great for you!
Still trying for Eloy. That would help too.
Here’s the new squad and questions:
C- Stephenson
CI- Freeman, Eugenio, Tellez
MI- Lindor, Polanco, France
OF- (play 5) Acuna, Robert, JulRod, Walsh, Happ
Util- Gleyber
Bench: Yepez
SP- Montas, Cease, McClan, L Garcia, Berrios, Taillon
RP – Hader, Diaz, Feyer (holds are a cat)
IL- Kershaw
1. What area(s) need tweaking? 12 team, h2h league.
2. I have an open slot for streaming but could just pick someone off the wire instead (Minter, Whitlock, Rasmussen, Javier, Singer). Stream or grab one?
Thanks!
1. Team looks great, maybe the fifth OF could be upgraded 2. Whitlock
2. Tho I guess you could just stream
Perfect, thanks. I actually have a guy interested in sending me Eloy for Happ plus one.
I guess it would be Yepez and Happ for Eloy. My pickup would be a new bench guy like Tyrone, Meadows, Tork, L Garcia, L Gonzalez, Peralta. Not sure on this one…thoughts?
I’d take Eloy
Recently traded bassitt for verdugo and gimenez in a dynasty 6×6 obp/qs roto. Think it’s fair? Used trade analyzer and it seemed okay.
Sounds fair to me, might depend on league depth
Who’s the better two start pick-up for next week?
Jon Gray @ Clev/@White Sox
Quantrill home vs Tex and Oak
Cal
Hey- So I lost Peralta, Clevinger and Morton and replaced them with Ashby, Skubal and Baz. You think I’ll survive the change? thx mang
I think you might be better off
Take a look at the game one of double header White Sox lineup today – LaRussa is trying to think again.
Lead off – Leury Garcia, .198 OBP, 2!! walks this season
3rd – Moncada, 1 hit in last 12 days, OBP .167
5th – Sheets – he’s terrible, against every handedness of pitcher, slugging .333
6th – Grandal – OBP .267, slugging .215!
Down in 7th we have Andrew Vaughn – splits nearly identical now for R/L, 2nd on team in OPS, OBP .333 (see the other clowns above), and SLG .496.
So, did Vaughn beat up LaRusa’s kid? Are they just trying to screw with him? With all of the injuries, have they just decided to mail it in? They can see the same Statcast pages I can, right? If they are going to put REESE MCGUIRE at DH, they could at least put an actual OF out there and just let Vaughn rake at DH.
It’s bonkers.
I don’t think it’s a doubleheader
Vaughn’s lineup placement is so dumb tho…And Pollock homered last night, so of course you bench him for Gavin Sheets
My bad – was thinking of Yankees – but that makes it even worse!
Yeah, Sheets and Vaughn OF, and Reese McGuire at DH – a recipe for wins if I ever saw one. No need to play an OF in the OF.
And it feels like all year managers are benching the guy who had a big game yesterday. Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me.
Plus, w/ Anderson out, it’s like “Luis Robert must hit 2nd and Abreu 4th.” Just stack your best hitters at the top – make your opponent work. Sheesh. Or, Sheets, I should say.
Oh well. Thank goodness they have Yermin Mercedes and his infectious personality to bring up the clubhouse – oh wait, LaRussa crushed his spirit too. Almost forgot. Well, at least he found time to call out Gabe Kepler this week, (eye roll.)
Have a great day!
Hahahaha, yeah, Sheets indeed…Yermin…Damn, I forgot about him…What happened to him?
AAA – his last year stats would look pretty good at DH right now, compared to (checks notes,) literally anyone in their lineup not named Robert or Vaughn.
Haha
Which player to add in an NL-only with walks and no SBs?
Nimmo, Ruf, David Peralta, Conner Joe, Suzuki, Duvall, Carlson, Myers, Avisail Garcia, Alek Thomas, Grisham, Garrett Cooper
Nimmo
L. Urias or Gleybor?
thanks spanky
Gleyber

Hey Grey, shallow 10-team roto league, can you rank top 3 from these bums for me please? No specific stats, just looking for overall value. Thanks!
Lourdes, Jesus Sanchez, Grisham, Yuli, Franchy, Moncada, Kepler
You did
nice, thanks Grey!
No problem
Mancini!
Mankakis?!
Have you ever seen the two of them in the same room at the same time??? You’ve just uncovered the biggest conspiracy in baseball history.
Haha hmm…you’re right! I’m brilliant!
Great post Grey!
Please rank: MJ Melendez, Tyler Stephenson and Kirk
Thanks!
LG
Thanks! Tyler, Kirk
grey, would you deal Javier and Machado for Olson and Luis Robert?
Olson side
Christian Walker or Walsh?
Walsh
1. Do you prefer Renfroe or Eloy?
2. Would you trade Polanco him?
3. Would you trade Berrios for him?
4. Would you trade Holmes for him if you already have Diaz and Hader?
5. Would you trade Diaz or Holmes for Walsh?
Thanks
Eloy 2. No 3. Yes 4. Yes 5. Yes
Very helpful.
Of course he countered with either Gleyber or Walsh for Holmes. Thoughts? Preference?
I’d take either, Walsh 1st
Grey, would you deal Machado and Rodon for Luis Robert and Olson? My pitching is below:
Javier
Kopech
Rasmussen
Cobb
Wright
Ashby
Strider
Fried or Skubal ROS – QS league
Fried close tho
Going to pickup Riley Greene in the hopes of an imminent promotion – who do you dump in a roto OBP league:
Voit
Rojas
Vaughn
Gracias mustachio
Voit
Christian Walker or Jesus Sanchez?
Walker
Hi Grey,
thanks for all your help. This is my best year ever in Fantasy Yahoo. Your advice has been invaluable.
I have Will Smith. As with most catchers who do sit out a few games , i have had no points in 13 games. I think that i need a backup.
1. The following three catchers are available in this 12 team Yahoo league.
Gary Sanchez
Christian Vasquez
Mitch Garver
Who would you pick?
2. i could cut Kris Bryant who is on IL. i am holding on to him. Do you agree?
3. i would therefore have to cut either Kyle Calhoun of Texas or Rowdy Tellez of the Brewers. i was going to waive Calhoun.
Do you agree with this catcher strategy? Do you agree to cut Calhoun?
thanks!
1. Garver 2. Hold 3. Works for me
Thank you!
No problem
Would you stream any of these starters tomorrow in a QS weekly HTH league?
Urquidy @KC
Elisier Hernandez vs SF
Brubaker vs Ari
Just saw Brubaker below. Would you drop Yep or Naylor?
Yepez is droppable for now for a streamer
JT seems ok, but I wouldn’t stream any in mixed
Bad draft for a 2b/SS. Looking to add one of the following-
Lux, A. Rosario, Schoop, Cesar or JP Crawford.
Thank you
Crawford
hey grey
ROS tellez or Ozuna?
Ozuna
What’s good Grey? Simmons doesn’t write anymore, but does make around 317 podcasts a week.
Which two stay and which two go away out of Luis Garcia, Josh Rojas, Andrew Vaughn, and Yoan Moncada?
Appreciate you as always.
What’s good, poop?
Yeah, I don’t listen to sports pods
Yoan, Rojas
So Yoan and Rojas stay?
Sorry poop, now they go away
Gotcha
Need a SS fill-in for Wander; Yahoo 10 team with added OPS. Options include Urshela (currently on my team), H Castro, Guillorme, Ramon Urias, or some combination of them all as they’re hot. Seems like Urshela?
Hold
Good to drop Grayson with the injury?
Yeah
Ray has a chance to lead the league in strikeouts so not a total loss but understand the frustration. 2-step next week @ Houston, and vs Boston. Not ideal for the homerun issues…
Yes on the Ks, but I’d guess Burnes before Ray….If not others
20 team dynasty…my acuna and rob ray for his ohtani and mahle
No
Possible streamers for tomorrow, please rank
Urquidy @KC
Cobb @Mia
Josiah Gray @Cin
Dunning vs Sea
Eflin vs LAA
Brubaker vs AZ
Thanks
Dunning, Cobb, JT
Hey Grey-
1)Rolling out Manaea @MIL?
2)Someone dropped Gallegos … drop pagan to scoop him up?
3) what is Tyrone Taylor’s profile? He looks more than a hot schmotato to me and I’ve been monocleing
1. I am 2. Nah 3. Schmotato, might lose playing time once Renfroe returns tomorrow
Thanks!
No problem
Offered Ray for my Bassitt? Which do you prefer
Ray
Haha wow the spaz canceled it before I could get back in and click accept! He’s been doing that all week with offers “here ya go, no ya don’t, here ya go, no ya don’t “
Haha, damn
Happy Day Meister Grey, (Poet and didn’t know it:))
I’m hooked, every time Arenado homer’s, I’m coco for coco pops waiting for the Master of putting word to fantasy blog. Thank you for only letting me down by not writing about two hundred players a day:):):). I know, time…
A) Rogers, Coors only???
B) Baz, is he a must add? Maybe over Gallen, Gilbert, Manaea or Ryan?
C) There is no C!!!
D) Can you email me the winning lotto numbers for this coming Saturday?
Hopefully Baz isn’t a spoiler for tomorrow’s buy, thank you for your superior FML knowledge.
CCC
Haha
A. Can’t hurt B. Yes, add Baz but you have no one to drop there C. Damn! D. Will do!
PS B.1) Can drop Morel or Vaughn for Baz?
CCC
Morel
Hi Grey,
would you pick up Brandon Rodgers or Jose Iglesias and waive Thairo Estrada?
thanks!
Rodgers
thank you!
No problem
What side of the trade would you go for…
I give up; Gleyber Torres and Curtis Mead
I get back Wilson Contreras and Ian Happ
My current catcher is Sean Murphy who i would add into the trade or drop
Happ side
Sup Grey,
If hunting for a QS would you roll out Merrill Kelly @PIT?
Yes
Gorman or Garcia(Wash)?
Luis
If both are healthy. Do you like semien more than India ? Thinking of picking up renfroe and trying to trade JuRod for semien
Yes
Hey Grey,
Looking to increase my HR + RBI totals for my team.
Would you trade Varsho for Sal Perez ?
I can see the Sal owner picked up another catcher and looking to capitalize on his lowest point.
Sure, can see it
Two questions:
A. Who do you like of Pham, Marsh, and Larnach ROS in an OPS league?
B. In a 12-team OPS keep forever league, would you trade Trout and Dansby for Bo? If that’s too low of an offer, would you go as high as trading Trout and Story for Bo?
Sorry, could you add Peralta to that list of OFs in question A? Just noticed he’s been hot.
Drury is also an option for question A. Apologies for the multiple followups.
Meh on Drury and Peralta
A. Pham B. I wouldn’t
Thanks. Are you down on Bo enough from the preseason to where you wouldn’t even trade Trout straight up for him in a keeper league?
Trout is an OPS beast
Would you rather have Kikuchi or Strider ROS?
Are you streaming Thompson vs StL today?
I am not…Would I? Depends on league
Kolten Wong or Josh Rojas ros?
Hi Grey! So many flopping stars this year. I’ve got Bregman on two teams and am getting sick of benching him. What’s the deal? Do you expect a turnaround? Is he close to being a drop?
Also: “Who’ll Stop The Rain?” or “Have You Ever Seen The Rain?”
Thanks!
Bregman I didn’t like, he hit something like 12 HRs last year
And clearly: Have You Ever Seen The Rain?
“Who’ll Stop” is on the better album. Gives it more ooomph but yeah you’re probably right.
So is he a drop for, say Crawford, Profar, Gurriel, Rojas or Naylor? Seems cray that he’s 97 percent owned in Yahoo but seems cray to just drop him for one of those doods.
It’s close, Who’ll Stop is a great one too
Can’t see dropping him for them
Hey Grey,
Love the work as always. Few questions:
1) Potential blockbuster in my 10T redraft league, 5X5 roto with OBP: My Lance Lynn, Nestor Cortes, and Ty France for his Harper & Bednar
–> My pitching has been best in the league thus far and I’m part of me is eager to offload two risky pitchers, but I may be giving up too much / underselling France
2) How much are you buying Jazz? Heard some stat bois talking about how his batted ball profile interesting, in that he’s been crushing offspeed but hasn’t been hitting heat…not sure if that’s actionable in fantasy, but it has me thinking
3) Are Cole Irvin and Paul Blackburn the same person?
Thanks as always!
Thanks! 1. Harper side 2. He looks legit, I had concerns in preseason, they’re gone now 3. Haha, I think Irvin might be his little not-as-good brother
In a 10 team dynasty keep forever league I was offered Varsho and Lou Bob for Wander and a 3rd. Thoughts on that trade? Wander feels like he may be a better real life baseball player than Lou Bob but Lou Bob maybe better for fantasy?
LouBob side, it’s fair
I didn’t see anything about Cooper’s injury on SportsEdge…how serious?
Tightness, last I heard
Would you trade Devers for Burnes in a keeper if you needed pitching help?
Thanks, and love your stuff!
Yes, thanks!
I just need someone who’s going to hit the damn ball. Who do you like as a short term pickup out of:
Guillorme (4 games @ LAD)
David Peralta (@PIT, @CIN)
N Lowe (1 game vsTB, 3 vsSEA)
Schoop (@NYY @PIT)
Rengifo (double header @NYY today, @PHI, vBOS)
Yepez (4 games @CHC)
Jesus Sanchez (vsSF vsWAS)
Hmm…I’d prolly look at Hittertron…Maybe Rengifo since DH
Yeah, give The Hulk a try.
(I’m going to die on this hill!)
Do you see ke’bryan Hayes being more valuable than wisdom ROS in a 10 team points league?
Yeah
Would you add Hudson over Staumont for saves chasers?
Hudson
Yaz or Verdugo?
Need counting stats and avg
Verdugo
Good Morning Grey,
In NL-Only H2H, would you rather roster Junis or Houser for ROS?
I currently have Junis, and his next start is @MIA (Sunday), and Houser is at home vs. SD today, so it seems that Junis might be a better option this week. However, I need to go with the better long-term option.
Thanks.
Junis
Thanks.
I didn’t watch the Miami game yesterday, so I didn’t see Cooper get removed. I did a Google search and nothing came up about an injury, and Yahoo doesn’t even have a DTD designation. Where did you see this?
https://twitter.com/AlexKrutchikCJN/status/1532193410689470465?s=20&t=hOprgw2eEsnshNbARE2E3g
That sucks. I hope we get an update soon, so I can make a roster move. If it’s a serious one, I’ll for sure need to drop him with O’Neil and India already out.
Between us and whoever’s reading this, Cooper’s fine, might be a two-day thing
Catcher question for a two catcher roto league.
Sal or Jansen rest of season? Jansen has been on fire when in lineup, going back to last August and Sept. granted, it’s less than 50 at-bats. Reminds me of Garver a few years back. Sal looks lost two months in.
Sal
Bohm over Rowdy or C. Walker?
Walker
Morning Grey,
Two questions:
1) I know we talked about this yesterday. But in a dynasty/keeper format would you trade Yu Darvish ($28) for either Taillon ($14) or C. Javier ($17)?
2) Ohtani is starting one of the games in the DH at NYY? would you put him in at SP or UTIL?
Thanks as always.
what about Taillon?
What about him?
would you rather have Taillon or Javier?
Javier
i am trying to find a way to get both of them
Sounds good!
he is asking for M. Margot and Darvish from me for Taillon and Javier. Make the deal?
Sounds fine
he took the deal. thanks for your help.
No problem
one last thing. I have 3 C’s (Realmuto, Garver and C. Vazquez) should I keep all 3 or drop one between Garver and Vazquez). Both Vazquez and Garver are hitting
Can lose Vazquez
ok thanks again.
No problem
Grey dreaded C question please pick two ROS
Murphy, Varsho, Jansen
League has 5 OF and 2 DH spots would it make sense to keep all 3 and drop Bohm who is back to a K machine
Varsho, Jansen
Gleyber or Edman ROS?
Edman
Is Jesus Sanchez’s turnaround for real or just Coors-induced (like a hangover)?
Coors, guess we’ll see
Jon Gray or Cristian Javier, who is worthier to hold? 5×5 league with W , 10-team
Javier
Drop T Taylor for L Garcia or Stott w Renfroe coming back shortly?
Garcia
Aloha Grey!
Soler or Ozuna?
Mahalo
Aloha!
Ozuna
Great recap, Grey! & sure you touched on the Pham shizz a few days ago, but your general restraint beyond occasionally stating what he is up to, is commendable. The jokes write themselves with Pham. I’d believe anything as well. So many issues with him; but not sure that his calf is one of them. Running him out there in Boston might have caused another unpredictable stunt. With that in mind, would you consider swapping him for Morel, and maybe some more stable production? Just not sure that Phamtastic possesses the lucidity to set aside his issues and the inevitable taunting whilst on the road! Thanks.
Ha, I’d go to Morel for SBs, but Pham otherwise
So the problem with Springs is he only had 44 IP last year, yeah? Unfortunate, because he does have 2 starts week, and looked decent, but after that…any guesses?
Great point, I say about 100-120 maybe, but if they have playoff aspirations… it’ll get weird in August bc they will need to throttle back and hold him back to be available for the playoffs in some capacity. They’ll get Patino and Baz back in next month or so. I expect some of these guys… and a Fleming or another rando to start piggybacking. With the way Springs has been throwing, I hadn’t even thought to look at his innings like that, just figured he’d be good to go. But good call there brother
Agree with NUX
Razz,
is Christopher Morel worth an add? He’s scorning runs and stealing bases like a mad man.
Will he stay up with Cubs or is he just there for now?
thanks
He’s an add in most leagues while hot, but also matters what you are dropping or other circumstances
