SAGNOF Bullpen Report Week 19: Deadline Day Fallout

Arizona Diamondbacks

Weirdly, these guys didn’t do a thing, so the pen remains the same. Don’t forget about Justin Martinez, who’s due back relatively soon, barring a setback during rehab, which starts today! Paul Sewald (24 SV, 43:9 K:BB) is buns again. For now, I’d want Brandyn Garcia (3 SV, 13 HLD, 36:7 K:BB).

Athletics

No changes here either.

Atlanta Braves

Samesies here, too.

Baltimore Orioles

Traded away Tyler Wells (4 SV, 11 HLD, 53:13 K:BB) to Tampa. That leaves the hierarchy as something like Andrew Kittredge (4 SV, 6 HLD, 28:10 K:BB) as favored closer, Yennier Cano (1 SV, 9 HLD, 32:8 K:BB) and Rico Garcia (5 SV, 12 HLD, 49:14 K:BB) setting up, and maybe Grant Wolfram (1 SV, 12 HLD, 36:11 K:BB) being around too. Would go ahead and go grab Kittredge if your wire’s thin for saves.

Boston Red Sox

Added Erik Miller (4 SV, 10 HLD, 45:22 K:BB) from the Giants. He might sneak some holds here and there, but I really can’t see him gaining ground on Garrett Whitlock (2 SV, 20 HLD, 43:7 K:BB) and Justin Slaten (17 HLD, 36:6 K:BB).

Chicago Cubs

The Cubs gave up a pretty okay catching prospect (I think, anyway; not my forte) in Moises Ballesteros for Ryan Zeferjahn (4 SV, 9 HLD, 75:32 K:BB). Big Z has always had nasty (good nasty) stuff with nasty (bad nasty) control. Lately, he’s kind of got things figured out. Looking like a lock for 100 K at this pace, and it’s quite likely he’ll see some save chances, if not the majority…or even all of them. Dude might go from zero to hero in the second half. Kind of upside you just gotta pounce on.

Chicago White Sox

Acquired Huascar Brazoban (8 HLD, 49:23 K:BB) from the Mets. Interesting move here. Brazoban has quietly been really good in 2026. Might feature into some high leverage work; hard to say right now. Grant Taylor (5 SV, 7 HLD, 76:18 K:BB) and Sean Newcomb (3 SV, 8 HLD, 56:22 K:BB) have been doing pretty good work back there. They also traded Seranthony Dominguez (12 SV, 4 HLD, 47:23 K:BB) to the Mariners.

Cincinnati Reds

No changes.

Cleveland Guardians

No changes.

Colorado Rockies

Traded away Seth Halvorsen (2 HLD, 17:15 K:BB), Antonio Senzatela (3 SV, 4 HLD, 46:17 K:BB) and Victor Vodnik (4 SV, 5 HLD, 26:19 K:BB). All were pretty much non-factors for fantasy purposes anyway. Senza turns some heads early with a great K:BB and lots of random wins, but that fizzled out pretty quick. I guess you really do still want Jordan Romano (9 SV, 1 HLD, 22:10 K:BB) if you have to try to stomach some Rockies saves.

Detroit Tigers

Traded away their ace but kept this dinky bullpen the same lol. Kenley Jansen (13 SV, 1 HLD, 34:18 K:BB) coulda fetched something. Oh well, no changes makes this blurb easy.

Houston Astros

No changes. Saw they tried to move Bryan Abreu (7 SV, 7 HLD, 51:29 K:BB) to Minnesota, but it never stuck for some reason.

Kansas City Royals

No changes.

Los Angeles Angels

Zeferjahn and Kirby Yates (3 SV, 36:12 K:BB) were dealt away. That leaves Sam Bachman (1 SV, 17 HLD, 46:27 K:BB) as the favorite arm back there, I guess? No one else is worth a flip. We’ll see if Ben Joyce can be a thing.

Los Angeles Dodgers

No changes.

Miami Marlins

Nothing big here. Traded away Lake Bachar (2 SV, 1 HLD, 61:21 K:BB) and added Vodnik. Doesn’t mess with the hierarchy. Did expect Pete Fairbanks (17 SV, 2 HLD, 47:16 K:BB) to get moved. Oh well.

Milwaukee Brewers

Added Senzatela and JoJo Romero (20 HLD, 43:16 K:BB), who’s on the IL anyway. Drop.

Minnesota Twins

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Twins taking a chance on Jeff Hoffman (5 SV, 12 HLD, 75:18 K:BB). I’ve been pointing out his baller metrics all year long. They’re still baller. If you covered up his face/name and just looked at all those red bars, I’d bet you’d be thinking “sure wouldn’t mind this guy in the [insert favorite team here] pen.” The annoying part is I don’t know how much this effs with my Yoendrys Gomez and Andrew Morris stack on a team. Thankfully it’s SVHD, so maybe not too much. I do figure Hoffman was brought in to close more often than not.

New York Mets

Basically, everyone except Devin Williams (16 SV, 51:20 K:BB) left. No more Luke Weaver (1 SV, 15 HLD, 45:11 K:BB), A.J. Minter (1 HLD, 21:2 K:BB), Brooks Raley (14 HLD, 40:15 K:BB), or Brazoban. So, begs the question: who sets up Airbender? I…haven’t the foggiest. I don’t know that it matters much for fantasy. Maybe there will be a clearer picture for next week’s report.

New York Yankees

Traded away Camilo Doval (1 SV, 4 HLD, 40:18 K:BB) to Pittsburgh. Opens the door for more Brent Headrick (15 HLD, 68:18 K:BB) holds, probably. Fernando Cruz (2 SV, 17 HLD, 58:30 K:BB) is mightily struggling with control lately.

Philadelphia Phillies

Brought in Caleb Kilian (8 SV, 4 HLD, 53:20 K:BB) and Brooks Raley (14 HLD, 40:15 K:BB). Solid depth additions, but most likely they’re going to be behind Orion Kerkering (1 SV, 11 HLD, 46:25 K:BB) and Jonathan Bowlan (7 HLD, 48:9 K:BB) for high leverage.

Pittsburgh Pirates

On deadline day, the Bucs acquired four players, all of them relievers: Yates, Weaver, Bachar, and Andrew Moore. They also brought in Doval, of course. The real winner here is Weaver, who’s been one of the best arms all year. He just might be the closer. What does this mean for Gregory Soto (14 SV, 7 HLD, 53:20 K:BB) and Mason Montgomery (2 SV, 9 HLD, 69:21 K:BB)? Recent performance suggests Montgomery would have the edge over Soto, so Montgomery’s stock probably stays exactly the same. Don’t think Doval bullies him too much. Weaver’s stock is up big time now that he’s viable in SV-only.

San Diego Padres

I didn’t super expect Mason Miller (28 SV, 88:16 K:BB) to go anywhere, it was just really fun to think about the kind of haul he might have brought. No changes, alas.

San Francisco Giants

Moved Miller and Kilian out, didn’t bring anyone worthwhile in. Saves in San Fran are probably Dylan Smith (1 SV, 6 HLD, 23:9 K:BB)’s for the taking.

Seattle Mariners

Added Dominguez, but don’t think he’s gonna do much in Seattle.

St. Louis Cardinals

Traded away Romero and brought in Caleb Ferguson (1 SV, 3 HLD, 22:11 K:BB) for cash. He doesn’t move the needle much from a real-life perspective, but I also wouldn’t be shocked to see him climb the ladder as the lefty specialist in the Lou. It’s either him or Justin Bruihl (6 HLD, 39:20 K:BB). I’d add Ferguson at the first sign of successful high leverage, because I have very little faith in Ryne Stanek (1 SV, 18 HLD, 46:25 K:BB) and George Soriano (2 SV, 16 HLD, 47:19 K:BB).

Tampa Bay Rays

Added Wells. Reckon that just about tanks his fantasy value. No way he usurps Bryan Baker (31 SV, 2 HLD, 46:15 K:BB) and Garrett Cleavinger (2 SV, 20 HLD, 46:15 K:BB) and Kevin Kelly (4 SV, 22 HLD, 42:8 K:BB).

Texas Rangers

Chase Silseth (9 HLD, 50:23 K:BB) joined the Rangers earlier in a quite pre-deadline-day move. Was having a strong year with Tampa, so he figures to get some high leverage looks moving forward. Worth considering in deeper SVHD formats.

Toronto Blue Jays

Other than losing Hoffman, no changes. It’s really only Louis Varland (24 SV, 5 HLD, 73:16 K:BB) and Tyler Rogers (2 SV, 23 HLD, 27:14 K:BB) getting SVHD back there, but in deep formats you might see Mason Fluharty (1 SV, 12 HLD, 51:19 K:BB) or Braydon Fisher (1 SV, 9 HLD, 53:26 K:BB) take a step forward.

Washington Nationals

Got a few RP prospects for moving budding ace Foster Griffin. Don’t know that it shakes up the pen for the rest of 2026. Clayton Beeter (11 SV, 5 HLD, 34:20 K:BB) is the fella you want. No one else.
