Do you hear the siren? Do you see me on a unicycle riding close behind it? That’s because it is time for your
Razzball weekly fantasy baseball injury report!
EDITOR’S NOTE: Wait…can Keelin ride a unicycle? A true renaissance woman! I wanted to pop in and mention some injuries that cropped up late Friday so y’all don’t go without your news of the injured and the lame…so macabre you all are! James McCann (NYM – C) is set to miss about 6 weeks with a hamate bone fracture that will require surgery. Ryan Mountcastle (BAL – 1B/OF) hit the 10-Day IL with a forearm strain that had caused him to miss a couple games. He’ll take some more time to heal up. Seiya Suzuki has missed three games with an ankle injury but the Cubs have not seen fit to add him to the IL. In other news, water is wet, fire is hot, and George Springer (TOR – OF) left last night’s game with an injured ankle. Extent of injury TBD. Now back to your regularly scheduled parade of the maimed.
This week, there have been 3 “COVID” and 9 “undisclosed” entries on the COVID-IL bringing the total confirmed or precautionary player cases to 13 over the past week. Additionally, the Cleveland Guardians were having trouble guardian-ing their immune systems after a COVID outbreak infected seven members of the coaching staff, including manager Terry Francona. This outbreak resulted in the first game COVID-caused came postponement of the season.
Today's Guardians/White Sox game has been postponed due to multiple positive COVID tests in Cleveland's clubhouse.

Back issues were also on the rise this week. “Back tightness” and “back spasms” accounted for four new entries, across positions, to the IL. There was also an uptick in catchers (5 6) added to the IL. RPs (10) and SPs (5) were also on the uptick, with COVID being a contributing factor to these numbers.

Cincinnati Reds
Lucas Sims (RP): It has been a tough season for Sims who is now on the 15-day IL with lower back spasms. You may remember Sims spent the first few weeks of the season on the IL with an elbow issue. Art Warren, Tony Santillan, and Hunter Strickland may replace Sims at various points. Update your roster(s) accordingly.

St. Louis Cardinals
Adam Wainwright (SP): Wainwright was out on COVID-19 protocol (sort of!), but he is all good now and back on the roster now.
I realize COVID protocols are all over the place everywhere these days but #MLB having a system that allowed Adam Wainwright to fly home with #STLCards on team plane from San Francisco but doesn't allow him to pitch today doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
