What’s up RazzBall?!

Welcome back to another week of Two-Start Pitchers. This particular week I’m most excited for the matchup for some of the younger arms on the list, like Chase Burns, Trey Yesavage, Parker Messick, and Bubba Chandler.

Chase Burns – Utilizes a 4-seam and slider combo while sprinkling in the changeup vs LHH.  He does a good job at limiting damage by a low hard hit and barrel percentage, and will have a big season if he continues to do so.

Trey Yesavage – Welcome back, Trey! It’s just good to have him back and able to put him into our lineups again. Utilizing his 4-seam, slider, and split finger fastball, he may take a couple of outings to return to form, but he will be solid for those of us who drafted him.

Parker Messick – I would say he’s been one of the steals of the 2026 fantasy baseball drafts, or waiver wire, as there were articles saying he is must add as recent as April 10th. Keeping batters off balance with a six-pitch mix of 4-seam, changeup, slider, curve, sinker, and cutter (wow), he has continued to build off the success of 2025.

Bubba Chandler -The fastball velocity is there, but so are the walks. Bubba uses a five pitch mix of 4-seam, changeup, slider, sweeper, and curve; however, only the velocity is the only category red on his Savant. The control issues are trending in the right direction, and if it continues, he could be in for a big summer.

Now onto this week’s rankings…

Start Your Studs-
Max Fried
: @TEX, vs BAL – TEX has struggled against lefties for a good matchup to start the week for this week’s two-start SP1.
Dylan Cease: vs BOS, @MIN – He hasn’t been rewarded with the W to back up his performances, but Cease has been lights out.
Chase Burns: vs COL, @PIT – Plenty of strike outs here and I predict back-to-back quality starts.

Best Of the Rest
Jesus Luzardo: vs SF, @MIA – Banking on the bounce back from Luzardo to start this week. Control issues are real though and that is my only concern.
Joe Ryan: vs SEA, vs TOR
Luis Castillo: @MIN, vs KC – Good matchups here for a pitcher people have concerns about. Outside of the Houston start Castillo has been good.
Clay Holmes: vs WSH, @LAA
Trey Yesavage: vs BOS, @MIN – Trey is back, but I am going to temper the expectations. He did not look sharp in his rehab assignments.
Braxton Ashcraft: vs STL, vs CIN – This just in: Ashcraft off on bereavement leave and will not start Monday. Until it is official, I’d only count on his start vs CIN.
Kris Bubic: @ATH, @SEA
Casey Mize: @ATL, vs TEX – We gotta roll Mize out with confidence this week. He’s been sneaky good to start the season.
Parker Messick
: vs TB, @ATH – Look for him to be at the top of this category if he shines this week.
Bubba Chandler: vs STL, vs CIN

(Two) Start At Your Own Risk– (High Risk/High Reward)
Randy Vasquez: vs CHC, vs CHW – Good matchups here that could reward you for starting.
Steven Matz: @CLE, vs SF
Matthew Boyd: @SD, vs ARI
Merrill Kelly: @MIL, @CHC
Shane Baz: vs HOU, @NYY – Touch matchups for someone throwing BP in games.
Zack Littell: @NYM, vs MIL –
Dustin May: @PIT, vs LAD – I’d start @ PIT
Ranger Suarez: @TOR, vs HOU
Jack Leiter: vs NYY, @DET
Tyler Mahle: @PHI, @TB

Do Not Start-
Not a lot here I would start, but maybe for one matchup only.
Connor Prielipp: vs SEA, vs TOR
Anthony Kay: vs LAA, @SD
Chad Patrick: vs ARI, @WSH
Kyle Leahy: @PIT, vs LAD
Ryan Weiss: @BAL, @BOS
Jack Kochanowicz: @CHW, vs NYM – I could see starting vs CHW.
Tomoyuki Sugano: @CIN, vs ATL – Sugano @GABP is something I want no part of.

Mets are the worst hitting team ever. That second Kochanowicz start would be the only reason to start him.

Im starting Jack Koch. I trust the Mets more than the Pale Hose. We’re looking at just a more expensive version of the ‘62 Mets.

Mets are this years Rockies on the road IMO. It’s not good hitters slumping. It’s bad hitters not competitive. 18 innings yesterday 1 run at home v Colorado. They’ve scored 2 or less in half their games.. This team is unimaginably bad. IMO of course.
