Player Rater Top 20 (6×6 w/ Holds)

2026 SVHD Leaders

Weekly RP Leaders (By Razz $)

Weekly SVHD Leaders (By Total SVHD)

Weekly Notes:

Note: All stats and Player Rater values are accurate through Sunday’s games.

Louis Varland, 3 SV, 1 HLD, 7:1 K:BB. You got your first dose of [Gus] Varland last week, and here’s your second with Louis. The K-BB% on the year is just so tasty. Any time that’s north of 30%, you’re doing the Lord’s work. He hasn’t been untouchable in his last two outings, but overall, this guy has had one of the best starts to 2026 of anyone. Just hasn’t had the SVHD until Hoffman poo poo’d his pantaloons. Another one of my preseason Ls that I have to eat. I liked Brendon Little more, and that just turned out to be so ding dang dumb. Varland was used pretty much every single game in the playoffs (15 games!) and was super clutch, and he’s only picked up where he left off, carving through opposing batters like they’re the Arkansas Razorbacks secondary.

Tyler Rogers, 4 HLD, 2:0 K:BB. Here’s the TyRog we all know and love. Dude is a holds factory. Ratios should stay steady, and the Ks should stay virtually nonexistent.

Andres Munoz, 3 SV, 7:1 K:BB. That’s the kinda stuff you paid for on draft day.

Mason Miller, 3 SV, 2:0 K:BB. Boy howdy, only 2 K? Consider selling high. (Jk, please don’t do that).

Pete Fairbanks, 3 SV, 5:0 K:BB. Crazy Eyes Fairbanks just keeps on quietly being one of the best bargain closers around. Gotta love a -0.72 FIP in a given week. His 7.27 ERA is ugly, but 2.32 FIP on the year is not.

Seranthony Dominguez, 3 SV, 5:1 K:BB. He’s been nice with 6 SV and 1 W thus far, even if he did also get hit with a loss this week.

Robert Suarez, 2 SV, 1 HLD, 3:1 K:BB. Back to full-time closing and doing good work. Ratios are pristine — his ERA is even lower than his elite WHIP.

Erik Miller, 1 SV, 2 HLD, 4:2 K:BB. Tiny victory lap time. Been an E-Mill (no one calls him that, but now I do) fan for a couple years. Just another one of those health concerns. So far so good in 2026: 5 SVHD, 1.77 FIP, 16:6 K:BB.

Jeff Hoffman, 1 SV, 2 HLD, 5:1 K:BB. He snuck into this top chunk of notes since he managed 3 SVHD. Gotta say, the stuff is still grading out nicely. Just for whatever reason, he’s getting pummeled. And by nicely, I mean elite-ly. Seriously: 41 K%, 44.1 Whiff% (100th percentile), 36.1 CSW% (99th percentile), 39.9 O-Swing% (98th percentile). That’s not even everything I could harp on. But I learned my lesson with Griffin Jax: hella good stuff doesn’t always do the trick. Hoffman is out of saves contention for the time being, but he could very feasibly earn it back. They love that guy in Toronto.

Jaden Hill, 3 HLD, 4:2 K:BB. Those numbers from a Rockies RP will raise anyone’s eyebrows. But here’s the caveat: 10.13 ERA and 3.33 WHIP. Ahhh yeah, that makes much more sense now.

Notable fellers with 2 SVHD this week:

Jack Perkins, 2 SV, 5:0 K:BB. That Kuhnel guy has already faded into the dust. Grab Perkins everywhere you can. Could change in a heartbeat, but he’s the hot hand right now.

Hogan Harris, 2 HLD, 5:1 K:BB. Doing pretty nice work this year. Thought he’d be in the mix for saves, but dubs and holds are his bread and butter this year, apparently (does have 1 SV).  The kicker his an ugly 16:13 K:BB. Also has allowed 10 H. Stands to reason that rougher outings are ahead if that doesn’t change.

Bryan Baker, 2 SV, 2:0 K:BB. Clear-cut Rays closer now. If for some reason he’s on your wire, you know what to do.

Aroldis Chapman, 2 SV, 3:0 K:BB. Guy has only pitched 8.2 IP this year, somehow.

Ryan Walker, 2 SV, 2:1 K:BB. Proving me wrong. Maybe he’s figured it out. Gotta add and hope for the best.

Erik Sabrowski, 2 HLD, 5:1 K:BB. Only guy to eclipse the 10 HLD milestone thus far. Nice n’ tasty 20:5 K:BB, to boot. Since our Player Rater is geared toward standard 5×5, all those HLD don’t carry much weight. Don’t get it twisted, pard; he’s been a stud.

Keaton Winn, 2 HLD, 2:0 K:BB. Climbing the Giants bullpen totem pole again of late. Up to 5 HLD with a 13:2 K:BB. Paltry 0.56 WHIP.

Trevor Megill, 2 HLD, 3:1 K:BB. Still awesome in SVHD leagues. Got an inkling we’ll see him closing out games again eventually.

Jason Adam, 2 HLD, 1:0 K:BB. One of the steadiest setup men you could ask for. Gets nothing but high leverage (6 SVHD already in just 5.2 IP) and always delivers.

Notable bummers for the week:

Lucas Erceg, 1 BSV, 4:6 K:BB, 2.25 ERA, 1.75 WHIP. Dude’s stuff is terrible. Truth be told, he’s got a lot of work to do before I have an iota of faith that he can hang onto this gig much longer.

Gus Varland, 1 BSV, 4:0 K:BB, 2.43 ERA, 1.35 WHIP. Tracks that the guy I shout out for holds last week comes out and gives you none. Did score a HLD at least. You’ll also find out below that Clayton Better hit the IL, and Gus has been solid, so keep on ridin’ that Gus Bus, friend.

Tanner Banks, 1 BSV, 2 L, 2:3 K:BB, 27.69 ERA, 8.46 WHIP. Atrocious week for this fella. Damn.

Drew Pomeranz, 1 BSV, 1 L, 2:2 K:BB, 19.57 ERA, 3.48 WHIP

Angel Zerpa, 1 BSV, 1 L, 3:1 K:BB, 10.59 ERA, 1.76 WHIP

Ryan Helsley, 1 L, 3:2 K:BB, 6.92 ERA, 1.54 WHIP

Paul Sewald, 1 L, 1:3 K:BB, 15.88 ERA, 2.94 WHIP. Ruh roh. He’s been gettin’ hit real hard all year long. Hope this ain’t a sign of things to come.

Devin Williams, 1 L, 4:3 K:BB, 15.88 ERA, 4.12 WHIP. Still bad.

Caleb Thielbar, 1 BSV, 1:0 K:BB, 12.86 ERA, 2.86 WHIP. Hit the IL. My quick reaction is below.

JoJo Romero, 1 L, 2:0 K:BB, 15.88 ERA, 1.76 WHIP

Joel Kuhnel, 1 L, 1:1 K:BB, 7.50 ERA, 2.92 WHIP

Tony Santillan, 1 BSV, 1:0 K:BB, 15.88 ERA, 1.76 WHIP

Dylan Lee, 1 BSV, 4:0 K:BB, 3.00 ERA, 0.33 WHIP. Absolutely floors me that this dude isn’t getting holds while the likes of Tyler Kinley and Aaron Bummer are. I refuse to believe this trend continues. I REFUSE.

Tanner Scott, 1 L, 1:1 K:BB, 6.67 ERA, 1.11 WHIP. Reckon he’s still the top option for saves right now, but also reckon that leash is purty short given how he handled that role last year.

Blake Treinen, 1 BSV, 2:0 K:BB, 9.00 ERA, 3.00 WHIP

Alex VesiaND, 1:1 K:BB, 18.00 ERA, 3.00 WHIP. Dodgers pen didn’t have it this week.

Injury news this week:

Clayton Beeter: Forearm. Oof. So much for that sexy sleeper I touted in preseason. Sowwy!

Caleb ThielbarHamstring. Cubs bullpen dropping like my post-morning-coffee bowels. Ben Brown and Corbin Martin to step up? I think? Maybe? Martin got the only non-Thielbar save. Phil Maton was activated, however, I don’t know that I like him much at this point. The rare case of a St. Louis Cardinal who floundered upon leaving. But since he was flying too close to the sun his entire time there, I guess that tracks.

Bennett Sousa: Activated. Pitched horribly, but we can chalk that up to rust if we’re feelin’ generous. Or not.

Keegan Akin: Activated. Maybe starts to eat some innings for you bulk IP lovers out there, but don’t reckon any high leverage is in the cards with the way Garcia and Nunez are pitching.

Jordan Romano: DFA’d. Major oof. I saw someone spend $600-something FAAB on him in my RazzSlam league lol. There are only two FAAB periods in there, and the next one isn’t until June, so I kinda get it. Go big or go home. Still worth an lol.

That’s all for this week! Thanks for reading. Leave me a comment below so I feel all warm and fuzzy.

Odds are quite good I was drinking either black coffee, dark beer, or some form of bourbon while writing what you just read. In the daylight hours, I’m a high school English teacher. I have completely left X/Twitter, so you can find me on Bluesky: @jkj0787.bsky.social, where I serve up daily bullpen recaps to my loyal tens of followers.

“I saw someone spend $600-something FAAB on [Romano] in my RazzSlam league lol.”

I dropped $100 on Gregory Soto in the first RS FAAB period and I feel way less dumb/bad about that one after reading that.

If Sewald gets the boot in ARI, who’s up next, do you think?

Also: thoughts on Jacob Latz getting a save for Texas? Could he dethrone Junis?

Happy Tuesday JKJ! Always love your weekly roundup.

SV-HD-W points league, all three have the same value. I am currently over-weight in RP’s because they’re proving more reliable than SP’s in this format; I have Jason Adam, Bryan Baker, Rico Garcia, and Greg Soto (see, I did that alphabetically!).
If I have to drop one of them to start streaming SP’s this week, who is the drop? I think it’s Rico or Soto.
Thanks!

Thoughts on Will Klein in The Dodgers pen? Sleeper for saves?
What about Matt Strahm in The K.C. Pen over take the current bum?
