I’ve never had the privilege of posting Sunday, so forgive as I couldn’t resist the Mega Monster Truck lead in. With truck names like Demon Seed, Ball Buster and Dutch Oven how can you not get fired up for Sunday! Now that we’re fired up, let’s talk about the Monster Arms that are on the schedule for today. Clayton Kershaw, $14,200 at Pittsburgh, Johnny Cueto, $13,600 vs Philadelphia, Jose Fernandez $13,100 vs Chicago, Chris Sale, $12,400 vs Toronto, and Justin Verlander, $10,700 vs Cleveland. Aces are wild today, so who do we roll with in order to cash in? Honestly you can’t go wrong with any of the top 3, but I’m leaning towards Cueto & JFer, as I think most people will roster Kershaw and I love the match-ups at home. JFer has been straight nasty in his last 8 games, going 6-1 with a 1.16 ERA and 78 K’s in just 54 innings. Yeah, he’s back folks and he’s facing a slumping Cubbies lineup that’s dropped 5 of their last 6 games. Now that all the Aces have been dealt, who can we roster so we can go all in?
New to DraftKings? Scared of feeling like a small fish in a big pond? Scared of feeling like a small fish in a big pond? Well reserve your spot in the 25 Team Razzball Exclusive League set to run Monday June 27th to wet your DK whistle. It’s how we know you care! Sonny Gray, SP $5,900 – Or should I call him Sonny Greg? Wow, how the mighty have fallen and crazy Unkie Greg nailed this one in the pre-season. He’s had control issues all season, but he looked sharp on Tuesday vs the Brewers, going 6 innings with 7 K’s and 1 BB. The Angels have been looking better in recent weeks, but I just can’t pass up a Sonny Sunday discount.
James Paxton, SP $7,400 – Pax-Man has been gobbling up K’s since being called up with 34 K’s over 29.2 innings along with a respectable 3.34 ERA. The Cardinals have had their struggles vs LHP and they haven’t faced a lefty that averages 96 MPH on his fastball.
Nick Hundley, C $3,300 – Punt, Pass or Play? Granted we usually punt this 9 out of 10 times, but it’s 4th and 3 on the 45 yard line so we are going to PLAY! Tough to resist a COORS catcher at this price vs the disappointing LH Patrick Corbin.
Miguel Cabrera, 1B $4,100 – Another Sunday discount, I like it. I had Miggy in on Monday’s write up and he must of liked the “Miggy, Miggy, Miggy can’t you see”, reference cause he went 2/5 with a bomb. Let’s do it again Miggy, I need to be puttin’ 5 karats in my baby girl’s ear.
Freddie Freeman, 1B $4,600 – Too young to be a Zombino, but he was doing his best Walking Dead impression over the first 10 weeks of the season. He’s racked up 17 hits, raised his average 27 points over his last 10 games and he’s 10/24 vs Bartolo Colon.
Neil Walker, 2B $3,700 – Go ahead and throw in Curtis Granderson and if you need a deep discount look no further than James Loney. They’re facing Bud Norris, nuff said.
Jonathan Schoop, 2B $3,500 – If you dropped him in your regular fantasy, here’s your chance to own a piece of him. He’s facing Drew Smyly and I think that the bullpen will be deeply involved in this one.
Jake Lamb, 3B $5,400 – I wasn’t able to feature my favorite Tri-Lamb last Monday because it was a 10 am start. Yep, he went yard, just like every other Monday for the last month. Goldie probably would of went yard too, but he had the day off.
Danny Valencia, 3B $3,800 – Two weeks ago he was at $5,100 vs Yu Darvish and now he’s down to $3,800 vs LH Hector Santiago. Hmmm….is DK a woman? Cause I can’t figure this shizz out.
Francisco Lindor, SS $3,600 – Muy Caliente! Two bombs yesterday and he’s 5/12 with a bomb vs Verlander.
Marcus Semien, SS $3,900 – He helped me cash in on Thursday night with a 3 run jack and he should have a solid line vs Santiago.
Elvis Andrus, SS $4,000 – Clay Buchholz is back in the rotation, so that means it’s open season on Bucks in the Lone Star State. Stack City, that means a big green light on all Rangers hitters.
Mike Stanton, OF $3,700 – I was going to go back to calling him Giancarlo Stanton, but it’s working! He’s actually starting to mash again and we won’t see him at this price again unless he’s facing Kershaw.
Ryan Raburn, OF $3,900 – The lefty specialist is facing Corbin and he’s in Coors.
Bryce Harper, OF $5,200 – He’s in Miller park and Jimmy Nelson is back to cracking corn instead of striking guys out.
Coco Crisp, OF $3,500 – BVP Special 3/8 with 2 HR.
Jake Smolinkski, OF $3,900 – BVP Special 5/11 with a bomb and 8 RBI. The A’s OF likes them some Hector Santiago.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
Lots of Thunderstorms in play today, so be sure to keep and eye on it. Things look promising, but there maybe some delays. Just be sure to take that into consideration when rostering your pitching staff.
TOR vs CHW 70%, CLE vs DET 60%, NYM vs ATL 40%, BOS vs TEX 15%, AZ vs COL 15%
Doing Lines In Vegas
No surprise here as Cueto -280 and Kershaw -270 lead the pack. AZ vs COL has an o/u of 12 and the BOS vs TEX game is at 10.
