Welcome to week 3, Razzballers!
It’s been an interesting season so far, and hopefully you are finding success!
Garrett Crochet is the start of the week for me this week. Dream matchups vs two teams in the bottom half of the league vs LHP. His hard hit % is down, paired with K and BB % right around his usual 31% and 6%. I see two QS and strong strikeout performances here as he returns to haunt the AL Central once again.
Reflecting on last week;
Jose Soriano IS breaking out. I doubted him last week vs ATL, but he responded with 8IP, 3H, 1ER, 0BB, and 10K! I am trying to buy where I can. I will no longer be calling him Sorryiano.
Now onto this week’s two-start pitcher rankings…
Start Your Studs-
Garrett Crochet: @MIN, vs DET – SP1a this week.
Paul Skenes: vs WSH, vs TB – SP1b this week. I went Skenes – Crochet in a few leagues this year for weeks like this!
Christopher Sanchez: vs CHC, vs ATL
Cole Ragans: @DET, @NYY – If you’ve got him, start him. He might win you the K category himself this week.
Bryan Woo: @SD, vs TEX
Trevor Rogers: vs ARI, @CLE
Kevin Gausman: @MIL, @ARI – The Gausman has been must start and continues to be this week.
Best Of the Rest-
Gavin Williams: @STL, vs BAL – Strikeouts are up but so are the walks. That’s the only reason you’re not in the tier above.
George Kirby: vs HOU, vs TEX – Ace potential in these two starts.
Drew Rasmussen: @CHW, @PIT* – TBD depending on when he rejoins the rotation. This could be a big week.
MacKenzie Gore: @ATH, @SEA – Has Gore finally arrived? 39.7 K% and a 7.9BB% seem to think he has found something.
Robbie Ray: @CIN, @WSH
Michael King: vs SEA, @LAA
Framber Valdez: vs KC, @BOS
Best Of the Leftovers-
Eury Perez: @ATL, vs MIL – Facing two top 5 MLB offenses this week, but the upside is hard to ignore.
Will Warren: vs LAA, vs KC – Two good matchups for the Yankees arms this week.
Ryan Weathers: vs LAA, vs KC – See above.
Joey Cantillo: @STL, vs BAL – If he is available on the wire, this is the time to snag. Cantillo has been good.
Jeffrey Springs: vs TEX, vs CHW
Grant Holmes: vs MIA, @PHI
Kyle Bradish: vs ARI, @CLE
Nathan Eovaldi: @ATH, @SEA
Ryne Nelson: @BAL, vs TOR
Start At Your Own Risk- (High Risk/High Reward)
Mike Burrows: @SEA, vs STL – I like the start vs STL but nervous for @SEA.
Matthew Liberatore: vs CLE, @HOU – I don’t see a W for him in either matchup, even if the pitching stats are good.
Mitch Keller: vs WSH, vs TB
Bailey Ober: vs BOS, vs CIN – All I ever hear is elite extension about Ober, but K’s are down, and BB are up.
Cade Cavalli: @PIT, vs SF
Brady Singer: vs SF, @MIN
Deep League Starts–
Sean Burke: vs TB, @ATH – I don’t mind the start @ATH.
Javier Assad: @PHI, vs NYM – Tough matchups, but Assad does have a way to find success.
Yusei Kikuchi: @NYY, vs SD – I think he can have some strikeout success @NYY, but I don’t think it’s worth ruining your ratios so early in the week.
Reid Detmers: @NYY, vs SD – See above.
Cristian Javier: vs COL, vs STL
Do Not Start-
Luis Severino: vs TEX, vs CHW
David Peterson: @LAD, @CHC
Miles Mikolas: @PIT, vs SF – It’s so bad.
Michael Lorenzen: @HOU, vs LAD – Never Rockies.
