Parker Meadows for Fantasy Baseball

Here’s what I wrote in November of last year, “Went back and searched my posts for every mention of the word “sleeper” until the All-Star Break. So, if I said, “(player’s name) was going to be a 2025 fantasy baseball sleeper,” I made note of it with a slash. By the time I was done, if you put the Parker Meadows slashes on a tree, it would’ve looked like Tom Hanks in Castaway. It was like this over the last few months of the season, “I gotta write a 2025 fantasy baseball sleeper for Parker Meadows,” “How long until I can write a 2025 fantasy baseball sleeper for Parker Meadows?” “Have I written a Parker Meadows 2025 fantasy baseball sleeper or have I just mentioned it so much that it feels like I’ve written it already?” By the time I was done searching three months of daily roundups, it felt like Parker Meadows wasn’t a 2025 fantasy baseball sleeper anymore, but ya know what? Eff that, bros, four sisters and one sista! I’m highlighting this em-effer!” And that’s me quoting me! Guess what? Still is a sleeper! Well, “sleeper” is usually a preseason designation, so, okay, is not but could still be. Ya know what’s kinda interesting related to Parker Meadows (I say “related to Parker Meadows,” because usually I start by saying something is interesting then talking about whale sperm or something completely unrelated, anyway…) some guys hold their shine when they’re injured and everyone is excited for them to return. Not with Parker, the fluky injury knocked all the shine off him. He’s like Audrey Meadows post-Honeymooners. No one cares. Now, Jayne Meadows, she had her admirers for many years. She even bagged that stud, Steve Allen. Has Larry King risen from the grave and started writing this? You’ll never know! Well, I get the hesitation after Parker’s injury, but he’s still a solid power/speed guy who should hit leadoff. Put some shine back on his name and grab him. Make him Shiner Meadows. POW! Right to the kisser. Anyway, here’s some more players to Buy or Sell this week in fantasy baseball:

Tyler Stephenson – He’s been hot, so you can ignore what I’m about to say. His stats are so weird this year, a strikeout rate that would make Joey Gallo blush. And Gallo doesn’t blush. It’s from years of red wine.

Drake Baldwin – Only Drake to have a good last twelve months.

Kyle Teel – Just gave you my Kyle Teel fantasy. It was written in soap on a mirror.

Michael Busch – Maybe because I was just writing the Parker Meadows lede about how he was a sleeper that I mentioned repeatedly, but Busch already looks like a 2026 sleeper (unless, of course, he gets hotter and becomes great this year; there’s still time).

Abraham Toro – Can I make a future bet on Toro winning the 2026 KBO MVP? Gotta get incredible odds if you do it now. Like $5 for $10K winning or something nutty. I mean, he’s not even in the KBO yet and I’m predicting it. Why do I sound like a guy who’s lost everything begging his bookie?

Ernie Clement – Ya know who Ernie Clement is? A 12/12 Lou Gu Ju. That actually has value in 15 teamers for a guy who is rosterable all year.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa – I just realized Israeli Diner Falafel’s team colors are, uh, chick pea.

Hyeseong Kim – Ya know where Kim would look very good? In Miami for Sandy Alcantara. Why would the Dodgers trade for Sandy? Because their rotation is Yamamoto, DtD, DtD, May, DtD.

Thairo Estrada – If you’re in an NL-Only league, you can do worse than Thairo. Orlando Arcia, for unstints. Or Keston Hiura, he’s worse too. Or, hey, who else do the Rockies have?

Cole Young – Already gave you my Cole Young fantasy. It was written while putting flyers under car windshield wipers that say, “Your car is a piece of crap, wanna sell it?”

Jorge Mateo – If you lost Chandler Simpson, well, you can never find someone to replace him. He was our greatest shooting star! Mateo has been running a lot recently like he’s trying to get traded off the O’s. Joke’s on him, O’s don’t trade anyone unless they get offered someone as great as Trevor Rogers.

Ronny Mauricio – Already gave you my Ronny Mauricio fantasy. It was written while sitting on a seesaw all by myself (sad).

J.P. Crawford – Last time he had a full season of usable fantasy value was in 2023, and his peripherals look very similar to that year. Think 20/5/.270. Just Peachy, indeed.

Max Muncy – Funny how some guys ignite the nethers. I don’t know why this is, but Muncy has a hot week, and people suddenly swarm, asking about picking him up. Another guy like Addison Barger has a good week and people are way more meh. Max is the Municiest, it is true, but he’s also a solid homers/.220 hitter. Could he get lucky on RBIs? Sure, I guess.

Max Muncy – Now you’re either thinking, “Grey’s handsomeness finally can’t make up for his utter stupidity and he’s listed Muncy twice,” or you’re thinking, “Wait, which Muncy is which Muncy?”

Addison Barger – He has huge power, think 30 homers. He has okay speed for a big guy, think 7-10 steals. He’s making great contact, think .265 neutrally. I’m intrigued, y’all!

Jerar Encarnacion – Here’s what I said the other day on him, “(Jerar) didn’t start (his first game back), which feels very telling about how the Giants plan to use him. Jerar does have huge power (10 HRs in 33 Triple-A games last year), but might hit .180 with a 35+ K%.” And that’s me quoting me!

Christian Encarnacion-Strand – Before his injury this year, he was hitting .158. Granted, it was two weeks, but it was with a 21.7 K% and hideous contact. He had a 23.8 IFFB%, which is honestly the worst I remember ever seeing; that’s infield flies, which is the worst contact anyone can make; it’s very, very bad; semicolons are fun.

Jo Adell – An advantage to the 7-day Player Rater informing who to pick up, you get the hot guys. One slight problem is you get guys who happened to have one great game.

Mike Tauchman – Too bad he has no power or speed (lol, what an enthusiastic way to start a Buy blurb) because he is making solid contact.

Denzel Clarke – He’s like Chandler Simpson if Chandler Simpson wore three-inch coke bottle glasses and couldn’t see pitches. Listen, I love me some SAGNOF — steals are steals — but when a guy is striking out around 60% of the time, it’s a little bit of a concern.

Ceddanne Rafaela – “Can I get one Roman please?” That’s me asking for Roman Anthony and a teenager buying a loosey condom to insert into his wallet, just in case.

Jesus Sanchez – He was almost a preseason sleeper. Really liked him coming into the year, and, besides an injury, he’s been great. Basically on a 20/20 pace, hitting .265. That’s good!

Wenceel Perez – Tend to ignore short-side platoon guys, but Wenceel has been hot, and objects in motion tend to stay in motion, which is also why I don’t know how people ever slept on waterbeds.

Colton Cowser – Consider this also a Buy blurb for Jordan Westburg. Two for one, suckas!

Charlie Morton – This is a Streamonator call, but let me be serious for a second and say I do not trust Morton or the next guy, even if their matchups are supposedly good. This is a Streamonator call like the call it makes to a bar.

Jameson Taillon – This is also a Streamonator call. “I just want to talk to the jukebox while it’s playing a sad song. It’s about last night! It’ll understand.”

Justin Martinez – Seems to be the favored closer in the desert. Not that desert…No, not that desert…No, there is just a food desert. Talking about Arizona! Geez.

Kirby Yates – Here’s what I said this morning, “Michael Kopech could return this weekend along with Yates. Mean’s while, Tanner Scott secured his 11th save yesterday. Or securrred, if Chingy is reading. Could Kopech or Yates get saves? Yes. Will they simply because they’re back? No, that’s not how any of this works. They’re not gonna get thrust into the 9th repeatedly simply because they’re back. If I had to guess, I’d go Yates over Kopech for more saves, but first they have to stay healthy.” And that’s me quoting me!

Dylan Lee – Raisel Iglesias had a good run (last year) and now it’s time for him to retire and post to Facebook stuff like, “Ryan Church is not related to me! Stop sending me emails for him!” The problem is the Braves don’t really have a replacement. Dylan Lee has been good, but he’s a lefty; Craig Kimbrel was great nine years ago; Pierce Johnson has been good but working earlier innings and the kiosk he works in the mall called Pierce’d Johnsons is, well, shaking my head, so, yeah, I don’t know.

Camilo Doval – Has he randomly lost the closer job back to Ryan Walker yet? How about to Randy Rodriguez? How about [pauses, blinks twice] now? Is Randy Rodriguez the closer yet? Doval still? Walker again?

Robert Garcia – I have no problem with Garcia as the Rangers closer, but I think Bochy, in his Grand Dome, thinks it’s wrong to have a lefty closer, and his Thursday wasn’t helping the case.

Abner Uribe – Megill’s gonna get traded. How do I know this? Because the Brewers do this: Develop a reliever or starter, then trade them. Mostly relievers. Hader, Devin, do you see the pattern now? What if I write it like this: Hader was traded, Devin was traded, Megill will be (fill-in a verb that rhymes with thraded).

SELL

Riley Greene – This Sell shocked me. I was not expecting to see him in the bottom five for K%. It was Toglia, O’Hoppe, Oneil Cruz, Trevor Story then Riley Greene (tied with Buxton). One guy’s already been demoted; one guy is a catcher so who cares; one guy hits the ball faster than the Bullet Train; one guy should be benched for anyone else on the Red Sox, and one guy is Riley Greene. If I kept going with guys with iffy K%, it doesn’t get better. There’s Rice Bowl, there’s Lou Bob; there’s Matt McLain who retired in 2023. It’s not great! Riley Greene doesn’t have great speed to make up for Ks and he’s kinda just a 25-homer guy. 25/.250 with a chance for 25/.220? That’s not good! Wouldn’t trade Riley Greene for a NXIVM brand, but I would go to the Fantasy Baseball Trade Analyzer and explore options.
