This is one of those rare articles where I’ll be writing up more two-start streamers than one-start streams. With that said, there are so many pitchers that I love for this week, that I’ll provide an additional list of one-start streamers that intrigue me. It’s crazy to say this but we’re actually at a pivotal point of the season. We’re past the 100-game mark by the time you’re reading this and we have the trade deadline coming next week too. That means a lot of these rotations could change and it’ll be key to keep an eye on that for the next 10 days.

We have ten games on the FanDuel Main Slate today, so plenty of great options. The biggest concern for today is the weather in several locations, which will require monitoring up until lock. On days like today, the best thing to do is look for ways to maximize value. To do that, we’ll first take a look at Rogelio Armenteros ($5,600). Armenteros has a deflated salary due to his role with the Astros in his previous appearances, where he was pitching out of the bullpen. He is fully stretched out, though, with a recent appearance for Round Rock where he threw 95 pitches, so we should not expect too short of a leash today. Let’s take advantage of the low salary and make Armenteros our featured start.

Prospect News: The Rutschman Delivers

Adley Rutschman (1-for-4 with his first homer) made his pro debut on Friday night. He was the number one overall pick in this summer’s draft (Orioles) and debuted at #37 overall on my recent Midseason Top 50 list. That’s pretty high for a fantasy catcher, so obviously we’re expecting big things from his bat. He’s a plus hit/power backstop and along with Vaughn and Bleday is a 60 overall (above average) profile among the recent draftees. On top of the talent, he’s also a college bat that shouldn’t take forever to cook (the way a lot of catching prospects do). Similar to Joey Bart if you’re looking for a recent (albeit lazy) comp. I’m not even sure I can imagine how angry I would be if I lost a perfect game in the ninth inning. Over the years I have broken my fair share of tennis rackets, thrown golf clubs and smashed video game controllers. One might say I have a tiny bit of a temper when things don’t go my way. If I were an MLB pitcher I’d prefer to lose my perfect game bids in the first inning, getting it over with early. I’m no math genius or anything like that, but I’ve got to imagine that the odds of pitching a perfect game are about the same as finding a needle in Josh Hamilton’s haystack. Wait, that’s not how it goes. Those are the odds for getting a base hit. Last night Mike Leake took a perfect game into the ninth inning only to have Luis Rengifo leadoff with a single. I’m not even sure I’ve ever heard of this guy who’s 53rd career hit crushed Leake’s dreams. Leake also walked a guy in the ninth, but held on to finish off his complete game shutout, striking out six. A week after being no-hit by the Angels, this would have been quite the reversal of fortunes had they been able to pull of the perfercto. The last Mariners perfect game was pitched by King Felix. I remember that game vividly as I earned over a one hundred points from that performance which saved my week and was the reason I ended up in the playoffs. Long life the king.
Go ahead and tell me this wouldn’t drive you mad.

Happy weekend DFSers! Today marks the first day of vacation for yours truly and I’ll be out today enjoying summer in Maine. Summer in Maine is basically crazy humidity, lots of bugs and an ocean that will give you hyperthermia after about 10 minutes of standing in it. Sounds great! I’ll be back tonight for some DFS though, gotta pay for vacation somehow. FanDuel has a 10 game slate for us tonight and I’ll be pumping plenty of lineups full of Luis Castillo ($10,500). Expensive? Yes, but he’s also your bet for a huge point total and that’s exactly what we’re looking for on FanDuel when you only have one pitching slot. A 2.41 ERA and near 11 K-rate will do that for you. The Cards have been brutal, currently sporting a bottom six team OPS vs. righties and a bottom seven overall. Lock and load with Saint Luis and enjoy your windfall.

Deep Impact: From Me To Yu

Yu Darvish has been a veritable enigma (double word of the day). He was horrible in most of the first half, then in mid-June started showing signs of life here and there. Now enter July, Darvish has strung together 3 positive starts and seems to be turning the corner. I watched his game this last Wednesday and felt like I was watching vintage Darvish 2016 and before. His mound presence was full of confidence and he was challenging batters with elite velocity up in the zone (several 97s), and then getting good hard bite on his 2Seamer, Slider, and Cutter. And most importantly, his command looked pretty solid which has been his biggest problem in the last few years. So that leads us into today’s deep dive…

Let me ask you something, is anyone hotter than Tyler O’Neill right now? Not to answer but to ruminate while ignoring both Gurriels, Ramon Laureano and Oscar Mercado. The answer is obviously no. That O’Neill can play right! Sorry, sorry. One more! O’Neill won the Nobel because he was out standing in a field! Okay, okay, one more! O’Neill picked up for La Stellllllllllllla, and it’s all that I Desire. Okay, sorry, wrong guy that can play right, I mean, left. Won’t let it happen again. Get O’Neill on your team, and drop your Loman. Wow, surprised you with my lies! So, O’Neill is playing every day with OZUNA nursing his truck driver’s ‘How’s your father’ finger and O’Neill might just be a hot schmotato for power, but he could also be breaking out. He’s merely 24 years old, and has 30-homer power (okay, everyone does, so maybe he has 40-homer power). His current average will fall, but who else do you want on that Long Day’s Journey Into Night. FanDuel: Then I Saw Her Ace, Now I’m A Belieber

What’s up DFSers. It’s Friday and I’m on vacation. You know what that means? I’ve been day drinking and you get to deal with my silly ramblings about baseball. We have a 14-game slate on FanDuel and this slate is chock full of pitching. We get Justin Verlander, Hyun-Jin Ryu, and Jacob deGrom all in the same price range, along with my personal favorite Shane Bieber ($10,800). Bieber has been phenomenal this year. He’s kept his walk rate down at 5.1%, while increasing his strikeout rate seven ticks to 31.6%. For the season, he has the fourth best SIERA among qualified starting pitchers, behind Gerrit Cole, Max Scherzer, and Chris Sale. Shane Bieber faces the Royals, who have the 26th best wOBA against right-handed pitchers over the last two months. Great matchup and a great pitcher? Count me in. For the record, if you’re paying up and want to go to one of the other aces, by all means. Let’s take a look at the rest of FanDuel’s slate.

That’s important to us.” A little panicked, not really Irish, but lying through teeth, the young man says, “Yes, that’s right.” The father quickly snaps, “What’s your last name?” “Uh… O…clock.” Any hoo!
