Nerds Again?  Yes, this is my second consecutive week with a Nerds reference, thank you for noticing.  Since my Tri-Lamb recommendation went for 28 points last Monday, I figured let’s keep it going tonight with John Lackey for a reasonable $9,400.  Yes, Clayton Kershaw is at home tonight going for his 7th consecutive 10 K performance, but he’s $14,000 and he’ll be owned on most rosters so I wanted to highlight the less obvious choice.  Yes, I like V2 and Rich Hill tonight as well, but Lackey loves him some Busch!  Last month when he faced his former team he went 7 Ing, 11 K’s and 0 ER.  Over the last 2 seasons Lackey went 11-4 with a 2.03 ERA racking up 129 K’s in 155 Ing’s, dude is lights out when he steps on the mound in St. Louis.  I’m banking on Lackey being underowned tonight in both cash and tourney play, so now we’re going to try to find some budget offensive plays so we can pair him with Kershaw and cash in on tonights contests.

Clayton Kershaw, SP: $14,000 – He’s averaging 34.6 points per start, those are crazy high numbers and even though he’s most expensive player on the night he still has a solid value.  Cin is on the lower end of total team Ks vs LHP, but they’ve also faced a less LHP up to this point.  Kershaw will get his 7th straight start with double digit Ks, Stud!

Rich Hill, SP: $9,500 – He’s the cockroach of failed starting pitching, this guy just won’t die.  He gets knocked out of the majors, reinvents himself and comes back striking guys out in bunches.  He’s a Rich Man’s Jamie Moyer!  Seattle has had quite a bit of exposure to LHP this year as they rank in the top 5 in total team Ks, but they’re also hitting .278 vs LHP.  With Hill’s soft tossing approach and Seattle’s big bats swinging he should be able to rack up 8-10 Ks.

Vince Velasquez, SP: $11,800 – This is the risk high reward play of the night.  Last weeks high risk play against Det was an absolute disaster, so I’m hoping to bounce back with this play.

Drew Pomeranz, SP: $8,500 – This is another solid cash or tourney play as I think he’ll be overlooked with the bigger names on the slate tonight.  The only thing holding me back from being one hunnit on this pick is that he just faced SF last Wed.

Buster Posey, C: $3,500 – Either DK knows he’s not playing tonight or there’s a glitch in the system.  I won’t be rostering any other C tonight as we won’t see Buster this low unless he’s facing Kershaw, good thing he’s 6/10 with 2 HRs vs Pomeranz.

Albert Pujols, 1B: $4,500 – I guess he takes longer to heat up with each year that goes by.  I wish he’d make a call to Papi and do whatever he’s doing because he’s en fuego.  Either way I like the match up vs Holland tonight.

Steve Pearce, 1B/2B: $3,500 – LHP Chen is on the mound so go ahead and green light the RH bats on Tampa. Steven Souza, Brandon Guyer, Evan Longoria and Tim Beckham should all be solid plays tonight.

Daniel Murphy, 2B: $4,900 – DK took away his 3B eligibility, Boooo!  He’s facing Colon for the second time in 5 days, so go ahead and green light the Was hitters as well.

Kelby Tomlinson, 2B/SS: $2,900 – He’s a lefty masher and he should get the start tonight.  Great tourney play as I think he’ll be at 5-7% owned.

Maikel Franco, 3B: $3,900 – Did he use up all his man muscles in spring training?  I mean he had 8-9 bombs in 2 weeks and then the season started and …… crickets.  Pelfrey has been too good his last 2 starts, regression is coming.

Alcides Escobar, SS: $3,600 – I’m feeling Beckham and Kelby at SS, but I also think Nolasco is also in for a visit from the Regression Fairies tonight.  Escobar has been racking up the SBs and he could be another overlooked guy for tourney play.

Yoenis Cespedes, OF: $4,200 – He has been quietly mashing and was leading the league in OPS until Papi took him over with yesterday’s 4-4 performance.  I really like the price and he’s got Gio for the second time in 5 days.

Nomar Mazara, OF: $3,700 – We missed Weaver by one day, dagnabbit.  I still like the match up at home vs Nick Tropeano.

Trayce Thompson, OF: $3,300 – Another solid value play to mix in with Lackey & Kershaw as he’s facing a lefty in Brandon Finnegan, begin again.

Odubel Herrera, OF: $4,000 – Breakout year so far for this guy.  He’s Philly’s best bat against RHP and LHB are batting at a .433/.598/1.031 clip with 4 HRs against Pelfrey this year.

Cameron Maybin, OF: $2,900 – I don’t love the match up vs V2, but he’s hot as a pistol and the price is right.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

There’s a 70% of rain at both the NYM vs Was and KC vs Min.  Be sure to check pre game as anything over 60% is playing with fire when it comes to DK.

Doing Line In Vegas

No surprise here as Kershaw is -350 tonight against Cin.  Everything else is pretty even except Cueto and SF is -179 and LAA vs TEX lead look to be the highest scoring game at 9 1/2 O/U.
