So, I drafted this team prior to the news on Francisco Lindor and it’s a draft and hold. Okay? Say okay! Tell me it’s going to be okay! No? It’s not okay? Fine! Thanks for nothing! That’s all right, I prefer to be playing from behind. Yes, that’s the ticket, said like Jon Lovitz. It’s a draft and hold, but thankfully I’m not using Lindor’s jacked-up hand to hold it! I am so mad! So, I took part in my first Draft Champions league with a bunch of Razzballers and was able to draft Francisco Lindor with the 11th pick because no one told me what was to come. Last time I play with a bunch of fortune tellers! Let’s see how badly I messed up the draft after my unfortunate first pick. For those unfamiliar, it’s a 50-round draft and hold, so no waivers. It’s 15-team, two catchers and weekly for pitchers, and bi-weekly for hitters. If you wanna play in a 12-team league for free with a bunch of us, there’s the Razzball Commenter Leagues. Anyway, here’s my Draft Champions draft recap:
PSYCHE! Before the recap, just wanted to say my top 500 and all my 2026 fantasy baseball rankings are updated as soon as possible. Also, Rudy’s War Room is updated multiple times per day, and in-season subscriptions are open for business. Buy a subscription and save a cowboy. Also, if you want to play in this NFBC format, we’re doing another Draft Champions league starting this Monday. It’s a slow draft, so you don’t have to be there for the draft. Same exact format. Signups were open to Patreon members for the last few days, so I’m not sure if there’s any spots left. Anyway II, the draft recap:

THIS IS A MESS.
I’ve seen better.
YEAH, OTHER TEAMS IN YOUR LEAGUE.
Do you want to see what the War Room totals say?
NOT ESPECIALLY, BUT GO AHEAD.
Here’s my War Room totals:
[EYES GO WIDE] SO, IT’S WORSE THAN I THOUGHT.
This draft happened before I had the War Room.
WELP, HERE COME THE EXCUSES.
Well, it did. Which is not how you should use the War Room. I usually fill in the War Room as I’m going along, so I can get a sense where I’m weak, according to the War Room, and not fill in after when I can’t do anything about the team. With that said, “according to the War Room,” is key here. I like to use it to get a feel for how the team is coming together, but me and the War Room differ in opinions. It has Cam Schlittler around pick 300, I have him around 150. Imai is around 180 for me, and 315 for the War Room; Jack Leiter got a Jack Leiter sleeper — appropriate! — but the War Room does not like him, and has him ranked at 350. Also, it does not help my War Room totals that my 1st pick is not even the top guy in the War Room for my team. Jazz Chisholm Jr. isn’t either. That would be Jacob deGrom at 24. So, according to the War Room, I drafted in this order: deGrom, Jazz, Lindor then Rooker, which is interesting, but I don’t agree. I do agree Lindor took a hit in value after I drafted him.
THESE EXCUSES ARE ENDLESS.
Okay, I’m just communicating why my team is janky. I also liked Lenyn Sosa more when I drafted him, then the White Sox got Munetaka Murakami, Luisangel Acuña and Austin Hays, and I ended up with a bench hitter. I do like some of my depth, Jacob Young and Nasim Nuñez should be everyday players.
YES, NASIM NUÑEZ AND JACOB YOUNG ARE GOING TO SAVE YOUR TEAM. WELL DONE, DUMMY! WERE THERE ANY GUYS YOU WANTED ON THIS VERY BAD TEAM THAT YOU DIDN’T GET, BESIDES THE OBVIOUS ANSWER OF EVERYONE?
I missed out on Justin Crawford by two picks, Reynaldo Lopez went right before AJ Blubaugh, and Ryan Weathers went right before Ian Seymour. Those were three I remember wanting where they went.
GOTTA BE HONEST, I’M NOT SURE THOSE THREE FIX YOUR TEAM.
Well, look at this if you think I’m a total joker:

THEY NEED TO DOUBLECHECK THEIR METHODOLOGY.
Okay, fine. Whatever. This team will be just fine and doesn’t need any help, though Lindor returning the first week of the season; Gavin Lux hitting leadoff and going 30/20; Ramon Laureano stealing 50 bags; Colson Montgomery hitting 50 homers and .270 and 200 IP from deGrom won’t hurt. Oh, and maybe a Cy Young year from Framber. All of that and I’ll be in the running!

Happy Friday Grey! 26′ season can’t arrive soon enough.
16 team h2h dynasty/keeper/salary cap +contracts league (10th season). I WANT PCA.
Have until March 7 to lock in KEEPERS. My bats: Raleigh, Busch, Bichette, Riley, Jazz, Maikel Garcia, Judge, Stowers, Olson, Swanson (not keeping), Taylor Ward (not sure if I’ll keep). Side note: I’ve been a Trout owner for 10 years (5yrs too long) and WILL NOT be retaining him.
My current rostered SPs: Pepiot, Ragans, Joe Ryan, Schlittler, Strider, Trevor Rogers, Peterson, Bubic, Horton, Schwellenbach on IL.
PCA owner has no SP on his roster. Which SPs can I package to have a real shot at making the trade happen? I’ve reached out to owner to see who he may be interested in, but no response.
Finally, I’ve got Matt Olson and Josh Hader with HUUGE contracts I’d like get rid of (in that order) . I’ve been looking to deal Olson since last year, but he’s been meh.
Thankyou very much
Why can’t I shake my skepticism of Yordan in my dynasty league? I just have a feeling his injuries might start having a cumulative effect on his performance.
Do you think he continues his pre ’25 pace for the next 3 years or do you think he will eventually fall off a cliff?
A trade was accepted in a 10-team H2H no limits keeper. The trade was James Wood/Bubba Chandler/Sheehan for Pasquantino/Kirby. The commissioner is asking people to veto because he feels the trade is unfair. Is this a bad trade? I don’t have a problem with it, but maybe I’m missing something? Thanks.
vetos are dumb
GM Grey, 12 team H2H 6X6 Keeper. With the 11th pick in a redraft, omitting a couple of potential keepers-how do you rank Tucker, Schwarbs, Vlad, Carroll, Yordan? Thanks Man
Hey grey enjoy your write ups and the rest of your writers. I put through my subscription as usual again this year. Maybe it’s because I’m an old buzzard I just can’t get the war room part as I’ve failed miserably in the past with it, even with the help of emailing Rudy numerous times. Anyways cheers to a new baseball season
Assuming you can call it up, click the word board, give it some time to load, fill out the number of teams, your draft slot, then put a Y in front of the player you chose for your team, give it a second then look up in the box and you will see the value of the player. Then continue scrolling and find your next player and put a Y in front of his name and continue.
Just another guy who grew up in the 50’s trying to help. We have to stick together. Ha.
Thankies, gone are the days when a switch or button turned things on and off for usage. Adding problems to my difficulty was technical issues from a 1940’s kid
In one D&H I paired Matt McLean and Cole together. Matt to start the year the replace him with Cole 1/2 through. Got both at their ADP.
Quick question for you Grey: need a catcher and a 3B in a dynasty league. Okamoto and Jensen are both out there and FA’s run tonight for the first time this season. Who do you prioritize?
Thanks!
Jensen for me.
Your strawman inner voice has been pretty harsh on you the last couple of days!
Haha, I hope NoGo has a season to remember! GL
