Note: All stats and Player Rater values below are accurate through Sunday’s games.

2026 SVHD Leaders

Player Rater Top RP (5×5 Standard)

Player Rater Top RP (6×6 w/ Holds)

Weekly Notes:

Small formatting change moving forward: 2026 SVHD leaders up top, then Player Rater rankings, then the weekly SVHD recap (sorted by total SVHD, with secondary emphasis on SV) plunked down into the Weekly Notes blurb. That way, I can let the screenshot do most of the stats work for me rather than redundantly repeating totals on everyone.

Trevor Megill kicks us off again this week. Felt he deserved the lede for 1). leading the week in SV (along with Duran) and 2). having the last three Brewers SV. Gotsta love a 5:0 K:BB while you’re at it. Below, you can see an update on the metrics, and they’re in really good shape. Swing and miss stuff like that with an above average BB%? Sign me up. I won’t apologize for reminding y’all I’ve been a Megill truther for a long time. It’s looking like he’s favored to close out games again. I’d say Uribe is a drop in SV-only unless you’re real hard up and the wire’s thin. In that case, hold and hope for spot saves here and there.

Jhoan Duran also had 3 SV this week, walking none and striking out three. Inching his way closer and closer to Top 10 status on the Player Rater.

After our two 3 SV guys, we had a handful of 3 SVHD guys:

Louis Varland continues to be nails for Toronto. Pitching in almost every game ever, always in high leverage, and just continuing to come through. There once was a time that this guy, Duran, and the elite version of Griffin Jax were all in the same bullpen.

Tyler Rogers wasn’t his sharpest this week by any means. Gave up 4 H and 3 ER while also issuing a free pass in 3.1 IP. Still has healthy ratios and 13 SVHD thus far in 2026.

Alex Vesia earned a trio of holds this week. The Dodgers as a team have 13 HLD over the last two weeks, and Vesia is the top option as far as I’m concerned. Another guy making some noise I’ll talk about later.

Brad Keller has been good enough in 2026. I expected a borderline elite setup man; so far he’s just been a pretty good one: 3 SV, 8 HLD, 28:8 K:BB in 24.2 IP. Tied Vesia for the weekly lead with 3 HLD. Not too shabby, all things considered.

Several fellas with 2 SV this week. Here’s what caught my eye:

Gregory Soto had a great week from a Razz$ standpoint: 1 W, 2 SV, 0.00 ERA, and 0.30 WHIP. Counting stats and itsy bitsy ratios is a recipe for Razz wealth. We’re two full months into the season and Soto has remained excellent. Chalk up another L for me!

Jacob Latz had a couple saves and no walks. That’s a baseline I’d love from anyone in a given week.

Clayton Beeter is back and it’s looking like he’s already bumped last week’s headliner Richard Lovelady completely out of contention. Considered headlining him in fact, but let’s give it another week. Beeter scored a couple saves (in consecutive games) while Lovelady pitched all of 0.1 IP, allowing 3 H, 1 ER, and 1 BB in the process. Drop Lovelady. Thing to keep in mind for Beeter: ugly, ugly, ugly 15:12 K:BB on the year. He doesn’t give up many hits, but those walks are a serious issue. They were last year, too.

Cade Smith did more Cade Smith stuff: couple saves and a -1.97 FIP.

Of the 2 SVHD crowd, here’s what stood out:

Grant Taylor is looking like he’s close to having figured it all out. Big time K%, SwStr%, CSW%, chase rate, xwOBA, you name it. Only thing against his metrics profile right now is hard contact. Has a 9:1 K:BB and 0.75 WHIP over the last two weeks (5.1 IP)

Seranthony Dominguez had 1 SV and 1 HLD with a 4:0 K:BB. Back on track for now.

Orion Kerkering making me pay attention to him again. Became an afterthought to me with inconsistencies and lack of high-leverage opps. Looks like he’s become the 7th-inning option behind Keller and Duran, and he’s got five straight outings with multiple strikeouts. Going back over his last 14 days, he’s sporting an 11:1 K:BB in 5 IP.

Kyle Hurt is the guy making noise I hinted at earlier in the Vesia blurb. What’s extra sexy about him is he’s SP eligible and seeing late-inning work for LAD. Trifecta’d it up this week: 1 W, 1 SV, 1 HLD while striking out 3 and walking 0. Has 4 SVHD and 1 W over the last two weeks.

Yoendrys Gomez is another SP-eligible reliever doing work: 1 SV and 1 HLD with a 4:1 K:BB this week for the Twins. Surprised me to see that Minnesota as a team is tied for 2nd place with 6 SV and also 2nd place with 14 HLD over the last 14 days. Gomez has 6 SVHD over that span. Dude is a priority add in holds leagues with SP slots. Back on May 20, he pitched two shutout innings against HOU and struck out 5 (no walks).

Ohhhh just another fire week from my guy Dylan Lee: two more HLD this week got him to the 10 HLD milestone. Also 5:0 K:BB.

Brooks Raley somewhat quietly doing nice work for those hapless Mets. Joined Lee in the 10 HLD club.

Other notes:

Devin Williams netted a save but had an unsightly 4:3 K:BB.

Mason Miller also with just 1 SV and a 2:2 K:BB.

David Bednar was even worse: 1 SV, 1:2 K:BB.

Scott Barlow managed 1 SV despite a horrid 0:4 K:BB.

Notable bummers for the week:

Once again, Lucas Erceg finds himself down here. 2 BSV, 2 L, 45.00 ERA, 9.00 WHIP. My gracious. Hard to recommend holding him, even in SV-only. Guess you have to if your situation is bad enough.

Will Vest 1 HLD, 1 BSV, 1 L, 19.57 ERA, 2.61 WHIP. Yuck. I wouldn’t roster him anywhere if I could help it.

Taylor Rogers 1 BSV, 1 L, 7.83 ERA, 1.30 WHIP.

Yennier Cano 1 BSV, 1 L, 45.00 ERA, 11.67 WHIP. Friendly reminder he’s washed.

Matt Brash 1 BSV, 12.86 ERA, 5.71 WHIP. Only pitched 0.2 IP. His usage is very frustrating despite superb numbers in 2026: 0.64 ERA, 2.43 FIP, 0.86 WHIP, 12:4 K:BB. Only 5 HLD to his name. I guess I need to confess something. I’m probably going to drop him in one league just because there are so much more holds on my wire and I actually lost SVHD category this past week. Lord have mercy!

That’s all for this week! Thanks for reading. Leave me a comment below so I feel all warm and fuzzy.

Hi. I lost Jansen to the IL and grabbed Finnegan. But Vest got the first save opportunity with Finnegan coming in in the 6th. Who gets the most saves while Jansen is out?

Also, who would you rather use in a RP slot this week (5×5 league): Finnigan, Hoffman or Cantillo (2-starts, but qualifies as RP)?
