I’m putting the finishing sheen on a Top 100 update for next Sunday, so if you’ve got any thoughts related to that, please slide on into the comment section.

In the meantime, I feel like we should blast some Spacehog and catch-up on the happenings where grass is green and skies are blue.

New York Yankees SS Hoy Jun Park had nothing left to prove at AAA, slashing .325/.475/.541 across 44 games at the level. His BB/K rate checked in at 46/41 over that stretch. Also hit nine home runs and stole nine bags. Safe to say he can identify some spin, and at 6’1” 175 lbs (though I think he’s a bit bigger than that), Park brings real upside to a club in crisis. He’s 25 and he’s never produced like this before, but he did post a 68/69 BB/K rate with a .387 OBP in 2018 at High A, so the plate skills and vision feel real to me.

There is a new leader atop our Top 100 Hitters for the rest of the fantasy baseball season as we head into the second half of the season. Unfortunately, the movement is driven by an injury to Ronald Acuna. It is a big loss for fantasy owners and fans of the game alike. However, with the second half of the season we also get an opportunity to see the young crop coming up from the minors in Jarred Kelenic and Jarren Duran. Both have immense potential and I remain bullish, specifically on Mr. Kelenic. Let us see how they stack up for the top 100 hitters and where the buys and sells profile for the second half.

The All-Star game has come and gone, which means the 2nd half is upon us. During the beginning of this 2nd half, now is a good time to go back and look at anticipated return times for some of the players that have been on the IL since the start of the season. While the majority have been stored away in the designated IL spots, there are always a few stragglers available for the picking. Fantasy Baseball Streamers, Week 16: Ride the Wave (Weekend Edition)

What a great All-Star break we just had! The Home Run Derby was an absolute spectacle, and it was nice to take a little break from baseball. With that said, it felt like a year, and I’m ready to get back into it and ride some streamers in the second half. This is one of the strangest weeks to talk about, though. We have every team playing this weekend, so we’re going to focus on those games and give you the normal Ride the Wave article come Sunday.

That means this article will be a bit abbreviated but starting this first week off with a bang is a great way to kick off the second half. There’s also a ton of question marks with these rotations, so all of these guys aren’t necessarily guaranteed the starts we have them projected for. With that in mind, let’s talk about the streamers we like for this weekend!

Grey placed an eternal flame outside of Razzball HQ in memory of Biz Markie last night, right next to the eternal flames for Rodney Dangerfield and Clear Pepsi. Also, baseball returned. It was really hard for Grey to watch the games, what with being outside ensuring that no interlopers messed with his candle or his Transformer-themed lawn ornaments. I asked him if he wanted a campfire to keep warm but he just kept talking about the All Spark. ENYWHEY. Well, *insert “San Andreas Here We Go Again” meme*

So, we know Thursday’s NYY/BOS game was postponed due to a few positive COVID-19 cases with Yankees players. There were actually more before the All-Star Game. Six in total, and three are fantasy relevant names: Aaron Judge, Gio Urshela, and Jonathan Loaisiga. Now we’ve got an issue with the Rockies, but so far no one terribly fantasy relevant is affected. But the point is this: COVID is absolutely a thing again. And it will continue to be. This delta variant ain’t no joke; be careful out there, y’all.

This week is a quality-over-quantity type injury report. Not as many names as in past editions, but this week’s names are big ones. Arguably the biggest of ones.

Getting Into A Confortotion

It reads weirder than it sounded in my head, but you get the gist. (Just like your mother.) And when said gisting (jisting?) has been completed and the sexual innuendo has been fully realized, we are left with the irreputable fact that Michael Conforto is not having a good baseball year. Contextually or otherwise. Look, I just wanted to use the word “contextually” okay? That being said, there may be some glimmer of hope for the almighty ROI. (Not just an outdoors store…) What that hope exactly manifests itself into is anyone’s guess, but we can try and make an educated (lol) call about, and that’s what I intend to do after this quick jump…

Points Leagues: Rest of Season Pitcher Rankings & Projections

We took a look at hitters last week which means its time for pitchers. Below you will find the scoring formula that I used to arrive at these numbers based on the Razzball/Steamer projections

Innings Pitched (IP) 3

Hits Allowed (H) -1

Earned Runs (ER) -2

Walks Issued (BB) -1

Strikeouts 1

Wins (W) 5

Losses (L) -5

Saves (SV) 5

I’m sure the first question on everyone’s mind is where does first half superstar Shohei Ohtani land on this list and in the overall projections. He comes in quite a bit lower than I was expecting, barely making the list at all with only 100.9 points projected from his time on the mound. Combined with his batting numbers his overall projection is 285 which would make him the number one player over the season’s second half. He is only projected to throw 42 innings which seems like a total he can surpass. It will be interesting to see how the Angels choose to deploy him in the second half, but if he continues to make regular starts on the mound his point total could shoot up.

FanDuel: Manny Man

Manny Machado ($3,600) is tearing it up with six homers and three steals in the last month while batting .350. He’s in a spot to drive in lots of runs batting cleanup against Erick Fedde, who has a 4.59 ERA for the Nats. Machado is best used as part of a stack, and there are affordable bats like Tommy Pham ($2,800), Trent Grisham ($3,400), and Jake Cronenworth ($2,800) surrounding him. The Padres can easily be the highest-scoring team tonight, making them an enticing tournament play.

So, this Buy/Sell is unlike other Buy/Sells — “Ma nish tah na Buy/Sell,” as Rowdy Tellez would say — this is different because this isn’t a waiver wire smorgasbord for the smorgas-bored. This isn’t guys to grab off waivers who are rostered in under 50% of leagues. Since there’s been very few games since my last Buy/Sell, that column still applies for most guys. A few under-50% rostered guys will show up here, but this is mostly for trading. Or as Michael Milken would call it, “Ripping off the other guy and/or girl.” Let’s start Milken’ing some stunods! (That sounds like someone who was hired to work for Jordan Belfort, but was like 40 years older than everyone else and struggled to fit in.) “Hey, Jordan, we’re Milken’ing them stunods now!” Ha, I’m snorting to myself. Any hoo! Josh Donaldson. Damn, I don’t even like this guy, but his Statcast numbers are about as sweet as you can find. He’s top 2% in the league for Exit Velocity; top 4% for barrels; top 10% for xWOBA and BB% and top 8% for xSLG and HardHit%. There’s no telling when a guy can get scorching hot, but by going off those numbers alone, Donaldson could be a 2nd half MVP. He is a clearcut guy who should be better. It’s time to Milken them like no udder! I am very juvenile. Anyway, here’s some more players to Buy or Sell this week in fantasy baseball:
