It saddens me to say this, but we’re down to the final few weeks of the fantasy baseball season. Almost everyone is in full-on fantasy football mode, but I’ve always preferred fantasy baseball. The grind and skill it takes to play roto baseball are much more intriguing than all of the coin flips in fantasy […]

Bargains…Bargains…Bargains! Today, we’re all about bargains. I’m all about supporting small businesses and we’re going to extend that philosophy to DFS today. Why pay up for a name brand when the local brand is as good, or better, at a much more reasonable cost? Don’t overlook these players because they are making the MLB minimum […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? With a little more than two weeks left in the season, my home league playoffs haven’t even started yet. We’ve voted to get them moved up, of course. Commish just couldn’t get it figured out, or couldn’t remember to do it. Time went by. People forgot, and here we are, deciding the winner of a 26-week season when all but two or three teams have called it a regular season. Don’t try this at home, if you can avoid it. Another league that’s a little more actively governed has its final set up as the last two weeks of the regular season, and I think it’s generally closer to the rule than the exception for head-to-head leagues to last up until the final day. Few things bother me more than that in our game, partly because my home league has been stuck in this rut forever, partly because it’s so obviously ridiculous.
If your league is like ours, you know that names don’t matter at all right now. Joey Meneses has been carrying my ten-team outfield of Ronald Acuña, Luis Robert and Giancarlo Stanton. Bobby Witt Jr. has been on my bench for a long time while Luis Rengifo captains a shallow-league infield headed for the postseason. Without these guys, I’d be hurting. Every hot-now bat won’t keep it sizzling, but it rarely hurts to rotate some fresh swingers in if your lineups are scuffling. I know this is Fantasy 101 stuff, but I have to remind myself to go ahead and bench some names every year.
Dynasty leagues aren’t all that different. You’ve only got so many days left. If you’re in the hunt, you might as well try the Rodolfo Castros and Nathan Eatons of the world. They may not matter for long, but they matter now while Castro is dropping bombs and Eaton is running wild.
Please, blog, may I have some more? After this weeks FAAB run, there will only be 2.5 weeks left of the MLB season; and anyone who got added to the IL this week should be dropped. Ultimately, it’s crunch time and you should be evaluating everything in the standings (if you play roto). Moreover, it doesn’t matter where you drafted anyone at […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Houston Astros outfielder slash heir to the throne of the Southlands, destroyer of baseballs, Yordan Alvarez went for the hat trick Friday night going 4-for-4 (s/o Wendys!) with three home runs (34, 35, 36) including this 464 footer! That’s the longest shot of Yordy’s career and the three bombs in a single game is a […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Greetings Razzfolk! DO YOU SMELL THAT? It smells like a lot of season ending injuries. Some of them are pretty serious injuries (Alec Mill’s discectomy and Anthony Goses’ Tommy John Surgery), but some of them are because there are only about three weeks left in the regular season. Routine injuries like strained hamstrings might keep […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Filling in for my guy, Mitch Staniger and I glance at the slate to see Ohtani vs Kirby and it just doesn’t seem right to not send some George Kirby ($8,000) love into the universe. Do we cross streams this evening and play Ohtani/Kirby? I could actually see it, but I never like the win […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? The regular season is coming to a close and if you are reading this it means you are a true fantasy baseball owner that is deep in the playoffs or finishing the last rotisserie push! None of that fantasy football goofiness, you want 162 games of pure glory. Knowing your dedication, this week we dedicate our hitter profiles to your last push and a few hitters that may have been cast off due to poor early season performance. In the spirit of Mario Mendoza and disappointing stat lines, we are shopping at the Mendoza bargain bins for players who have had rough seasons and seeing if there is any gold to be found for the late season push.

(NOTE: THIS POST WAS RELEASED EARLY THIS WEEK ON OUR PATREON. IT’S $10/MONTH)
Giants’ President Farhan Zaidi puts some soil on top of a newspaper clipping of Jonathan Villar’s DFA’ing. Waters it every day for five weeks straight, then what slowly crops up from it is David Villar. Do they have to now feed and take care of David Villar or does he take care of himself? Are there rules to caring for a newly sprouted David Villar? I don’t know, but there’s nothing Farhan Zaidi can’t do. Zaidi is the original Zaddy, amiright? What is a Zaddy? I have no idea. In order to give you some cold hard facts (facts that I place in an Igloo at the foot of my bed), I went to look at the Giants’ lineup to make sure David Villar was an everyday starter, and that team is so hilariously bad. Their lineup is, “What happens when reasonably thought-out platoons go very bad.” Joc Pederson should be in a platoon? Okay, and so should Lewis Brinson. LaMonte Wade Jr.? He’s gotta be in a platoon, and so should Austin Dean! J.D. Davis? Oh, he must be in a platoon. Great, because Wilmer Flores has to be in a platoon too! The only problem? One of these platoons would be fine, but to have seven of them? Ha, my gawd, bro. That’s awful. Someone said they could have an entire lineup of platoons, and no one asked if they should. So, is David Villar in a platoon? I don’t think so. He seems to be the only one not in a platoon. Of course, the only reason any of this matters is because he’s been crazy hot, and has big-time power. In 84 games in Triple-A, he hit 27 homers, and .275. In the majors, his average is likely not going to ever be that high, but the ball off his bat might. Bam! Hashtag nailed it! Anyway, here’s some more players to Buy or Sell this week in fantasy baseball:
Please, blog, may I have some more? It’s crunch time, my friends, and whether you can’t wait for season’s end, or are dreading it with every fiber of your being regardless of how your fantasy teams are doing (raises hand while tear rolls down cheek), it’ll be here in a couple of weeks. There may not be much waiver wire shopping going […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?As we approach the final weeks of the fantasy baseball season the mantra remains the same: balance no longer matters, attack categories. We no longer care about complete players we want playing time and the skills that are most valuable to our own respective teams. With that said, let’s take a look at some potentially […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Am I suggesting that you start Dustin May (FD $8,300/DK $8,200) today just so I could use the Happy Gilmore quote? It definitely went into consideration, and in one of my recent articles I recommended you Triston McKenzie, so I didn’t want to keep pushing him on you. Corey Kluber is always a Streamonator call, […]
