Welcome to June Razzball DFS fans. We continue to struggle with our high-priced bats coming up empty in DFS. Hoping to get that trend turned around as we flip the calendar and get ready for the official start of summer in a few week’s time. Looking for a big Tuesday on a nice looking Tuesday slate.

I’ll be bringing you my DFS picks for the main evening slate on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023. If you play on DraftKings, it is an 12-game slate starting at 6:05 Central time. This article will be primarily focused on the DraftKings slate, so if you play on Fanduel I encourage you to sign up for the DFS tools to help you make the best decisions for your lineups on FanDuel, DraftKings, and Yahoo.

New to DFS?  You can start playing right now on FanDuel and put our picks to the test.  If you’re scared of feeling like a small fish in a big pond, be sure to read our content and subscribe to the DFS Bot for your daily baseball plays. Mitch Keller, SP: $10,900. I did a preview show at the start of the year with some other analysts and we had the category of 2023 breakout pitchers. I was not on Keller on the show and in fact, was fairly adamant that he was a big time pass for me. I did not know he was going to add a solid cutter to his already plus fastball. He’s like Mariano Rivera with a slider. Ok, maybe I am exaggerating, but he has been really good and the underlying metrics back it up. In fact, he could actually have some further positive regression. He’ll get the Athletics in Pittsburgh tonight and their league worst .618 OPS vs righties. Oh, my top breakout pick before the season you ask? Brady Singer. Oops.

Joe Musgrove, SP: $7,800. Musgrove struggled with the long ball to start off his season upon return from his foot injury. He has righted the ship in the last two outings against the Yankees and Marlins. I’m betting he’s got his pitches locked back in and will get on a roll and we won’t see him at this price again. He will face the Mariners at Petco tonight. They only have a .682 OPS vs Righties and strike out at a 29% clip against them.

Yan Gomes, C: $3,100. I don’t think Gomes is about to get hot, but he did homer on Sunday. Also, he has a Home Run off Tyler Anderson of the Angels in his career.

Shohei Ohtani, 1B: $6,100. Spending up at first tonight with Ohtani. He has 5 Home Runs in his last 15 games. He’ll face Hayden Wesneski and the Cubs tonight. Hayden is allowing over 2 HR/9 on the season. I like this match-up.

Luis Rengifo, 2B: $2,300. If I spend up somewhere I gotta spend down. Renfrigo played every game in the Houston series and hit safely in all three games. I don’t think he gets the bench here with a day off Monday and a Home Run on Sunday.

Jeimer Candelario, 3B: $3,900. Post-Post-Post hype sleeper breakout may have arrived for The Candy Man. He has double digit DFS performances in 8 of his last 15 and seems to have really got his swing fixed. Power has been ok with 7 Homers on the year. He’ll face Tommy Henry and the Diamondbacks on Monday night.

Dansby Swanson, SS: $5,100. Swanson has been underwhelming so far, but if you want an inexpensive stack against lefties look no further than the North Side of Chicago. They are 4th in OPS against southpaws at .815. In fact, the projected Cubs starting lineup has hit .285 with 3 Home Runs off Anderson in his career. My tourney lineups will have some serious Cubs stacks.

Mike Trout, OF $5,800. Trout has struggled the last week or so, and his average is below his usual standard, but it’s still Mike Trout against a pitcher who likes to cough up long balls. I will mention it below, but the evening wind should be blowing out at 8-12 mph in Anaheim tonight.

Harold Castro, OF: $2,800. Believe it or not, he had 7 Home Runs last year for Detroit. Hopefully, he can find the stands tonight in Coors vs John Brebbia and the Giants. Castro has hit safely in 7 of 8 and is cheap and playing in Denver.

Willie Calhoun, OF: $2,100. With Aaron Judge possibly out I think Calhoun gets a start tonight against Lucas Giolito and the White Sox. The power hasn’t been there, but he has hit well in the last week. Also, Giolito has given up a Home Run in 6 straight starts. Maybe he’ll stop being Groundskeeper Willie tonight and become a little more Willie Mays.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

Strong winds will be blowing out in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Anaheim, and Yankee Stadium. Chance of pop-up storms everywhere they are playing outside tonight except Southern California. I don’t think anything will be bad enough to warrant any cancellations.
