It was an unstoppable force (the Grimace Mets) meets an immovable object (Rowdy Tellez – 2 for 4, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 2 Runs) in the box Friday night in Pittsburgh and Rowdy held his ground knocking two dingers including a grand salami. Also double donging in this one was Brian Reynolds (4 for 5, […]

Weekly Razzball news delivered straight to your inbox.
Welcome back to another week of Razzball Ambulance Chasers! I hope your fingers are intact after the explosion holiday. I will tell you what isn’t intact: groins! hamstrings! elbows! wrists! It’s a veritable mixture of body parts in this week’s Ambulance Chasers. Let’s jump in. Notable Injuries AL East Isiah Kiner-Falefa (2B/3B/SS/OF), knee: Well folks, […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Shane Baz two weeks ago, Robbie Ray last week, Jeffrey Springs this week. I know what you’re thinking, Kershaw next week, or Senga or Eduardo Rodriguez or some injured pitcher. No, this is it. I don’t have fantasy baseball Florence Nightingale syndrome. The dog days are not over! Wait, that’s Florence & the Machine. Well, […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all had a safe and sane Independence Day, and that you are finding a way to stay cool if you’re in an area where summer is hitting in a fast and furious manner. We still have a couple weeks before the All Star Game, so if your fantasy teams need […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? It’s good to be back in the Analytics Anonymous classroom talking fantasy baseball after a short time away. Like many of you, summer is the time for family vacations and if we’re lucky, time away from the phone and Google machine. That’s what it was like for me recently and alas, will be again the […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?DFS changed for me when I realized I had to play for first place to 1) ever make any real money 2) be a winning player at all. DFS contests are top heavy. I have been fortunate to take down several big tourneys in my career (including last night), and when I am not taking […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Hope everyone had a great 4th! And, if not, because of a fireworks mishap, I hope you had an appropriately-sized piece of a hot dog nearby to act as a tourniquet. For the 4th of July, I put on water wings, floated in my kiddie pool, got 3rd degree sunburns and drank Rolling Rocks while […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?On the weekend last, I bucked my 20-year trend and met fellow Razzballers at an event more than worthy of our time. Your author came as close as he will ever stray to meeting his anti-hero, Bud Black. It was a reverse World Series, a battle between two of the four most futile teams in all of baseball. In another world I live in California or Miami and manage to catch the Athletics play the Marlins. In this world, however, we watched the Colorado Rockies do battle with the Chicago White Sox. What a glory it was to behold.
Please, blog, may I have some more? What is up party people? Take a quick break from your hot dog eating contests and your firework shows for some fantasy baseball. Speaking of fireworks, Aaron Judge is putting on a one man show. I normally like to focus on potential adds here but Judge has been too good not to mention. At this point in time he is more than halfway to 62 and all that power has been backed up by a batting average hovering around .300. As a baseball fan a home run record chase would be fun, even if it is against himself. Enjoy the festivities and stay safe out there.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Royce Lewis hit the IL with a strained abductor saying, “Buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-but! I want to play! My abductor is fine! I’m not a mollusk! I don’t have an abductor! Do I look like a mollusk?” Then Rocco Baldelli squeezed lemon on his head, sprinkled some Maldon salt and slurped him down. Bye, Royce Lewis, he returned […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? The 2024 Futures Game rosters were made public on Tuesday, so I’d like to highlight some key takeaways that might be relevant to people with mid-week transaction set-ups.
For dynasty purposes, the Futures Game has always been an escalator for prospect fantasy values. Most people don’t watch minor league baseball on the regular, so their first time seeing some of these prospects with their own eyes happens during this seven-inning exhibition game.
My takeaway today is that values are going to change more than ever this season due to the new Futures Skills Showcase that will follow the game itself.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Hey Razzfaithful, back in the saddle after returning from a family vacation. With renewed clarity and a sunburn, I’m ready to take on a midseason review of my sleepers and deep dives from the early going. Call it a furthering need for authenticity. I do my best to practice this with my work and family, […]
