WAAAAYYYY back in April, I did a piece on torpedo bats and barrels. If you remember, torpedo bats were all the rage during the first couple weeks of the season so we looked at early barrel rates (BRL%) to see if we could find something useful for our Points league teams. Today, we’re going to […]

Getting back into the baseball season after the break is like you’re starting to fall behind people in roller derby and some giant lady slingshots you back into the race — swoosh! Brienne of Tarth has boomerang’d your 5′ 7″ and three-quarters of an inch, macho, lady-frame into first place in that roller derby and […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?I think many people look at the All-Star break as a time to recharge their batteries and get ready for the stretch run, but that’s not me. I actually hate when we take a week off because I don’t know what to do with myself. The fiend in me needs that baseball every day because […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Graduated from Stash List #7: Buy Tong In Time For Grilling Season: Adrian Del Castillo
Note: Anyone promoted during the current season is ineligible for the stash list.
1. Cardinals SS JJ Wetherholt (22, AAA)
2B Nolan Gorman has a 101 wRC+ despite a 30.1 percent strikeout rate, and he’s been hot since the calendar turned to June. He’s hit eight of his nine home runs since then, posting a 134 wRC+ despite still striking out an awful lot: 32.5 percent. The team already has something of an extra bat in C Yohel Pozo, but they’re in the wild card race. They’d make the playoffs if they started today, and JJ Wetherholt would be part of the Cardinals’ best playoff roster, so somebody’s going to lose some playing time sooner than later. Wetherholt went 4-for-5 with two doubles on Friday night, his fourth game in Triple-A, where he’s hitting .500 and slugging 1.000.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Hello Razzballers! Since we last met around these parts to talk FAAB, there’s been limited non-exhibition baseball action. With that in mind, check out last week’s article for an in-depth analysis of players to target and bid levels, including the usual Quick Hits. All of the information in there still holds up (thank you baseball […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? The only real poor man here is anyone who drafted Adley Rutschman these past two seasons (me). He is consistently a top-10o pick yet incapable of tapping into any upside or even replicating his career-high 2022 season. That year was great (for a catcher) with 20 home runs, 84 runs, 80 RBI, and a .277 […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Happy Saturday, Razzball faithful! It’s your old buddy MarmosDad back again to fill in for Dan Pants’ Daily News and Notes from the Friday night round-up. I hope you’re not getting too sick of me yet! Speaking of getting sick of people (sick segue!), I don’t know how many fish sticks Seth Lugo can fit […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? With the All-Star break this week, I figured now was a good time to look back at the first half of the season and see what I got right and what I got wrong when it comes to who is and isn’t an up-and-coming dynasty player.
To be honest, I still feel pretty good about the majority of the players I have talked about the last three and half months. But a few players have not lived up to the expectations I had for them entering the season or for what I expected out of them the rest of this year. Are these players going to rebound, or should I admit that I was just flat out wrong? Guess you will have to read and find out.
I will admit, this is a bit of a long read, but looking back on the good and the bad should be a slow journey. So go grab a cold beverage and hearty snack and then settle in.
Please, blog, may I have some more?In honor of the actual break in the middle of the Major League Baseball season, I thought I’d take my own little break from scouring the bottom of the free agent barrel for some deep league morsels, and take more of a general look towards the fantasy baseball future. Instead of concentrating on the second […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Welcome to the 2nd “Half” of the 2025 season. I put half in quotations because we are actually 59.5% through the season, MLB teams have played 1,446 games, and only have 984 games left on the schedule (assuming they all get played). In most Head-to-Head leagues, we have much less than half a season left. […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? How’s everyone doing without baseball every day? I’m doing great! I walked into a Jersey Mike’s and told them a story about a Mike I knew from Jersey who owed me money, and told them I wouldn’t be paying for my sub. They can take it out of the money Mike owes me. The police, […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?By this point in the season, the waiver wire has been foraged repeatedly, so to find help, we’ll need to look deep. Below are three deeper league options that may be able to help, even where you have needs in shallower leagues.
