Weekly Razzball news delivered straight to your inbox.
We are approaching the halfway point of the season. It is officially time to panic if you’re in the bottom half of your league. A couple hot weeks can still turn things around, but it’s got to happen fast. I hope you had a restful weekend, maybe the dads out there were treated to some […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? After taking RCL player of the week last Tuesday, I followed that performance up with an absolute disaster of a week across most of my fantasy leagues. Fortunately, I cashed very nicely all week in both DFS and straight MLB bets to make me feel better about my Roto declines. Let’s keep that streak rolling […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Give Ohtani the MVP already. Just give it to him every year that he stays healthy for the rest of his career. And if you’re not down with that, we got two words for you, SUCK IT! HB_Don and The Grey Game have one question for you, ARE YOU READY (for a fantasy baseball podcast)? […]

He’s batting .400 on the dot. Speaking of dots, there’s a laser dot on Ted Williams’s forehead, slowly heating him up so […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Do you ever look at the calendar and ask yourself “How the fudge am I going to save my fantasy baseball team with only like 8 weeks left until the playoffs?” Think of it this way: a fantasy football season is 17 games total (the NFL added an extra week of play for those of you out of the loop). And, you know, there’s only one game a week…so, 17 chances to win. Playoffs in a 12-team league probably start around Week 14/Week 15 depending on the format. So, you’ve got roughly 13 opportunities for a Win/Loss that will put you in the playoff race. Fantasy football players do this every year, and it’s a much more popular sport than fantasy baseball. We’ve got like, 70-80 games left of MLB baseball before the fantasy baseball playoffs. Y’all can do this. Don’t panic. Chug a beer and grab a towel. Let’s see if we can get you onto the space super-highway.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Let’s take a look at a trio of middle infielders as we dissect their present and future fantasy value: Matt McLain: Reds – Sticking with the Cincinnati theme here: Matt McLain, overshadowed by Elly De La Cruz, has a 25/3/15/.328/.380/3 line in 131 at-bats and has remained a steady presence at the top of the […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Bill Paxton was in a number of 90’s blockbuster films, but Armageddon wasn’t one of them. Tonight we have “Arm-a-geddon,” with at least eight pitchers you could make a strong case for on the DraftKings main slate. For me the guy who stands out is his namesake, James Paxton (P, $9,300). Paxton has looked every […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Happy Father’s Day to all of you who celebrated yesterday by saying, “Did you hear that? The dog just farted,” when you farted. We see you, we love you, we smell you. Change your shorts. You sharted. One guy who will not shart nor blame the Labrador is Henry Davis, who was called up. Just yesterday, Itch told you to stash Henry Davis, saying, “Davis is slashing .321/.472/.571 in eight games at Triple-A. Like the Reds are doing with C.E-S, the Pirates have been playing Davis in the outfield, where his athleticism fits well. I don’t understand why he couldn’t play outfield a couple days a week, DH a couple and catch a couple, even if he’s got some things to learn behind the plate. Reminds me I’d like to throw a plate at Grey’s head.” What on earth? To give you an idea of my excitement, I had Jordan Hicks, due to saves, at the front of my FAAB queue, then had Emmet Sheehan, due to his *makes drool facing*, then I heard Henry Davis was being called up, and moved him into the 1st slot for NL-Only. Bo Naylor being called up is interesting too in mixed leagues, will cover him in the post. Check out this new dance I’m doing, it’s called The Alejan-Drop, I make a face like I just smelled the dog’s fart, but really was looking at Alejandro Kirk’s stats, then move my hand around like I’m dropping Kirk to waivers. Anyway, here’s what else I saw this weekend in fantasy baseball:
Please, blog, may I have some more?Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. I’ll be spending today with my kids, and with my own dad, as we venture out to the Coliseum to see the A’s play the Phillies. Most years when we go to this particular game— my dad gets a deeply-discounted luxury suite because he auto-renews his […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Trea Turner was arguably the number one pick going into drafts this spring. Although Ronald Acuna Jr. was close behind, there was every expectation that Turner would anchor fantasy lineups with 30/30/100 production. Fantasy writers alike agreed and much of our position seemed validated by Turner’s performance in the World Baseball Classic where he belted five home runs. Alas, with a poor start to the season, Turner was hitting .238 with five homers and seven steals entering June. In another lesson to trust the talent, he has warmed up in the last two weeks hitting .315 with five steals and a few bombs. Hopefully you did not sell low and trusted your draft plans as he is still a top five hitter the rest of the season. Sometimes we have to remain confident in the talent and prior performance especially with the top hitters in the league. Let’s see where he and the rest of our stars fall in this week’s edition of the Top 100 Hitters for the rest of the 2023 fantasy baseball season.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Hey Now, Here Comes The All Star Break Sorry for ruining you’re Father’s Day Sunday, but you obviously need to queue up the obligatory tune for this week’s reading. (That’s right, I used the Spotify link to ruin your listening algorithm.) We’re in another crucial part of the baseball calendar in which we can target […]
