To quote one of the great poets of our time, as Pitbull said, ā€œHello, my name is not Mr. Rightā€¦ā€ Something-something for a few lines then, ā€œā€¦But Imma be your Mr. Right Now. Right now, right now, right now….ā€ Mr. Bull is exactly right (now). All that is right for, uh, now in fantasy baseball is right now. If you’re wondering about what a guy did in August or what he can do in another two weeks, you are doing mental gymnastics that you should avoid. You are not Simone Biles of the brain. Stop and think about Mr. Bull, you just need Mr. Right Now, which brings me to: Otto Kemp. He was near the top of the 7-day Player Rater, and is playing every day. That’s what we need right now, Mr. Bull! Put aside all your personal feelings about how you paid a first round price for Grounder Henderson! Forget that Elly De La Cruz has become Adam Frazier with speed. Don’t remind me that Ceddanne Rafaela is so-danne boring! Let me fly with a hot waiver wire pickup as we careen towards the season’s final week. Be a constipated Mr. Bull and stop the bullcrap! Anyway, here’s some more players to Buy or Sell this week in fantasy baseball:

Psyche! If you or anyone you know has breathed in a coal oven, you might be eligible for compensation with the best pizza anyone’s ever tasted–Wait, that’s not right. Oh, right: Fantasy Hockey is kicking off! Fantasy Basketball is spiraling out of control (in a good way) with Fantasy Basketball Rankings, and every week we have multiple people giving youĀ Fantasy Football Rankings. Finally, this post was released early onĀ Patreon, as will the 2026 rankings after I write them. Anyway II, the Buy/Sell:

BUY

Tyler Stephenson – My autocorrect changed his name to Tyler Stepson, and I kinda want to call him that forever. Who’s been hot? Tyler Stephenson. Who bought me cologne from CVS for Xmas? Tyler Stepson!

Patrick Bailey – PB & J is the Giants’ catching tandem of Patrick Bailey and Knizner, as in PB is for Patrick Bailey and J is for what you’re smoking if you’re starting Knizner.

James McCann – Raleigh is Big Dumper and McCann is my private property, do not touch.

Kody Clemens – His inclusion might be mostly because of his huge three-homer game last week. “Might” is lifting 600-pound barbells over its head.

Sal Stewart – Already gave you my Sal Stewart fantasy. It was written while telling my therapist, “You should really validate me. Uh, parking.”

Thomas Saggese – He’s been hot, so take what I’m about to say with a grain of salt. Cards should get more criticism for how they develop hitters. They regularly have guys come up who are supposed to be special who look incredibly lost: Winn, Walker, Gorman, Nootbaar, Saggese…Not to mention all the guys they traded away recently who have excelled elsewhere. Saggese went 26/12/.306 in the minors in 2023 as a 21-year-old! Where is any of that?

J.P. Crawford – Kinda funny thing (not funny at all) is there’s certain guys like Crawford who are meh in drafts, then we spend so much time in-season talking and thinking about them because they get hot for a week here and there and are always available.

Chase Meidroth – Fun fact! He is not a high school QB in a crop top. That’s Chase Midriff.

Jose Caballero – It truly is funny how Caballero sat behind Volpe with a busted shoulder for almost six weeks, and Caballero started playing and almost immediately became a top 10 shortstop for fantasy, because of his steals.

Harrison Bader – Case to be made that the best lineup spot in baseball is hitting in front of Schwarber. Between there, in front of Judge and where? Maybe in front of Raleigh. Arozarena has seen 31.4% fastballs, easily highest of his career. Any hoo! Bader’s excelled in front of Schwarber, since Trea’s been out.

Will Benson – Been hot, but not entirely sure where Benson is playing. Maybe Nick at Nite?

Daylen Lile – Just gave you my Daylen Lile fantasy. It was written while exploring the Arctic.

Parker Meadows – This is about this year, and Meadows has been hot, but, I gotta be honest, he’s gonna be a hard guy to not write a sleeper post for again next year. I won’t because I refuse to write sleeper posts in back-to-back years, but Meadows has such an enticing blend of speed and power.

Bailey Ober – This is a Streamonator call like the one it makes to the YMCA.

Yu Darvish – This is also a Streamonator call. “Is there a YRCA for robots?”

Keegan Akin – Been getting saves for the O’s, so that’s all you need to know here, and I won’t go on to tell you that the O’s have better sign a closer this offseason or they’re going to be in for another long year because Keegan is not Akin to a great closer.

Bryan Abreu – Shows you so much of what makes a great closer is opportunity. If Abreu was a closer since 2022, he’d be on his way to a huge career. Instead, he’s considered a solid middle reliever who happens to be getting saves right now. Why do I sound like the guy arguing his arbitration this offseason?

Andrew KittredgeBrad Keller, Caleb Thielbar, Porter-Psyche! You thought I was really gonna say grab Porter Hodge? What am I joke to you? Am I some kind of imbecile who needed google to spell imbecile and google returned search results to buy a mirror–Hey! What’s the big idea?

SELL

Everyone – Stop looking for an ā€œeveryoneā€ on your fantasy team. Everyone isn’t a person, it’s everyone. Keanu, ā€œWhoa.ā€ You can’t wait for some phantom hot streak that may or may not come. I’d drop everyone this final week-plus if they’re not performing. This is also a drop for all starting pitchers on any teams that have already made the playoffs and might only see a few innings in the next week. In general, I can’t imagine any playoff-bound starter getting more than five innings. This final week is uncharted territory and on maps it’s named: Not-Just-Kevin-Cash-Is-Yanking-Starters-Before-70-Pitches-Land. It’s between the Arabian Sea and H2Hplayoffsistan. There’s no time to wait! You need to do whatever it takes to win your league! Don’t be afraid of success! Be the hero you always dreamt yourself to be! Be a bright, shining star who is able to win a fantasy baseball league! Be the man you see when you look in the reflection of your computer screen while your fantasy team page is loading!

Oh man the Tigers announcers are like me when I whiff on a pick. “This guy cant be this bad. He did so good last year! He will turn it around!”

Tigers announcers

“Slumps happen but the Tigers will get out of it and win. They cant keep losing, and the Guardians cant keep winning.”

Tigers losing by 3 to Atlanta in the 5th.

Cleveland hit a leadoff homerun to begin the game. Up 2-0.

Yeaaaaaah. Btw Fangraphs had Tigers at like 100% odds of playoffs as of Sept 1 lol.

Fantasy questions for you. How do you feel about Kim in LA as a sleeper? Of course other Kim in ATL just hit a HR today.

Would you rather keep Cecconi or Boyle for next year?

I think I can keep both, but if it came down to it wouls you rather have Tyler Oneil or Santander next year?

Thanks as always!

14 team h2h 6×6 with OBP, TB, HLD+SV, QS+W and K/BB

Currently in the first of a two week finals

1) Are we still holding Otto Kemp and Sal Stewart? Both haven’t been playing as much lately and with Bohm back, will Otto play at all? Only 9 moves left to make the next 9 days.

2) Blew my ERA and WHIP the first few days of the match up thanks to the likes of King, Pepiot, etc. My opponent has a 2+ ERA and sub 1 WHIP while I sit at 6.75 and 1.75. I am currently back 5 SV+HLD (He has 5 relievers, I have 3). I am barely winning in K and QS+W. I am also projected to have 5 more starts than him going forward. I have 9 remaining moves, he has 8.

Would you just try and out-bulk him for K and QS? I was thinking of punting my 3 relievers and picking up 3 two start pitchers. That way I would get 6 starts (hopefully) for only 3 moves. That would give me 11 more projected starts and still have 6 remaining moves.

3) How would you rank these 2 start options. Emphasis on K and QS+W

Pfaadt LAD, @SD
S Smith @NYY, @WAS
McGreevy @SF, @CHC
Weathers @PHI, @CHC
Blublaugh @OAK @ LAA

Thank you again for all your help this season!

Lol yeah 14 teamer and these were the best options. Trying to optimize my moves as much as I can. Thankfully I am winning 8-4 and have the tie breaker. Currently way ahead in OBP, R, RBI, HR, TB and slightly winning in SB, K, QS. As long as I finish 6-6 I’ll win.

LOL Tigers let some Jack Black character hit 2 HR off them. Luckily they were ahead 5-4 and with 2 outs in the top of the 9th Nacho Alvarez comes up and gets ANOTHER FLIPPING hit and ties it. Then Profar gets another hit to give them the lead. Vest blows the game and Tigers lose.

I dont get it. He PH Baez for….Jung who is hitting .103.

He wont play Carpenter because “OMG A LHP” meanwhile the OF went a collective 0-11 without him.

He loves Vest who has a 4.60 ERA and a 1.63 WHIP over his last 30 games! In his last 7 a 5.63 ERA and a 2.25 WHIP. A closer allowing more than 2 baserunners an inning would seem to be…problematic?

Division lead at 1.5 games I believe and Guards have a doubleheader today. Looks like they got the first in the bag.

Friend texted me so not sure how accurate but he said the lead was 12.5 on Aug 25. So…..in less than a month possibly blew a 12.5 game lead is insane.

At least Josh Naylor got a HR last night, I hope he can get the steals to get a 20/30 and we can comp him as Juan Soto lite haha.

Nationals have to stop the early games. Abrams needs to sleep after getting out of the casinos. *only excuse I have for him and the team seemingly does play a lot of early games as of late*

Is Rooker unlucky or because he pulls all his HR he doesnt get the boost the others have with that ballpark? He cut his K-Rate from 33% to 29% to 21% this year. He also I believe is 2nd in XBH but somehow not really seeing that play out. BABIP is lowest of the past 3 years, .302 which is lower than Urshela or Butler. Kind of a weird year when looking at some of the under the hood numbers.

Got a roto strategy question for ya that I’m mulling over. I am up 3.17 to 3.27 in season ERA and 1.123 to 1.154 in WHIP in a league. Those are very likely unassailable leads if I bench my pitching for the ROS. However, I would likely lose a point in holds and possibly K’s in doing so.

If I keep running out starters and relievers, I will likely be able to gain a point in K’s, but also run the risk of blowing up my ratios. My current overall lead is 9.5, could just as easily be 2 or 3 points in a day given the right conditions

I’ve got all SON approved starts left (values of $10+) for 9 or so starts for the likes of Biebs, Freddy P, McLean, Sheehan, etc.

My biggest concern is losing several ratio points if my starters/relievers get repeatedly bombed which happened recently when my ERA went up .14, and my WHIP went up .027 in a week.

Keep going with the pitching or lay up/bench them?

Thanks. Tough to switch gears after being aggressive for the better part of six months. If I need to hold onto to my K’s point, I can always make some starts later next week.

Rooker @PIT (Chandler)
Baldwin @DET (Montero)

OK, this is a follow up question from your previous post. We have our regular rosters and then we have a minor league roster, which is basically a stash list of minor-league players until they lose prospect eligibility. Every year we do a first year player draft to compile our minor league rosters. We only have nine players on our minor-league roster. Next year, I will have to call up Horton, Cags and probably Gilbert or lose them. Are there any players from this list that you would move on from in order to participate in this yearā€˜s first year player draft?
If I call them up and add them to my roster now, they will take the place of one of my 13 keepers or I can leave them on the minor-league roster for now and call them up at the beginning of next year with no penalty. That is why I am not calling up Horton or Cags or Eldridge until next year. It is a OBP/QS keeper league. We keep 13. This is all about stashing the next great player while they are still in the minors without them taking up space on your active roster. Again, would you move on from any of these players in order to participate in this year’s first year player draft? I have the number six pick this year.

Anthony Gutierrez
Drew Gilbert
Cade Horton
Rhett Lowder
Bryce Eldridge
Jac Caglianone

Hi Grey

I misstated one of the questions and thought it best to restate my overall question. Sorry for this error.

Re: 10 Team Yahoo Points.

On the last day of the season, you can pitch multiple SPs. Of course, there can be huge positive and negative point swings.

The following SP are on the WW and projected to start on the last day.

Which ones would you select?

1. Giolitio vs Detroit

2. Peterson vs StL

3. Simeon Woods-Richardson at Phil

4. Michael McGreevy at CHC

5. Shane Smith at Washington

6. Ian Seymour at Toronto

Thanks!!!

Ed-Rod v SF: 11 on the SON
Burrows v OAK: -2.9
Simeon W-R v CLE: -3.7
Latz v MIA: -6.5

Thanks!

It’s a bit hard to tell until I know how my starters go today and tomorrow – and I am leading QSs 3-1 though my opponent has a few more starts left than I do. Great ratios and a ton of Ks is probably what I’m after lol. Not much to ask, is it?

WHOOOWEEEEE, big changes – I love it! It’s Gavin Williams. Apologies for the typo. By the way, Springs pitches @PIT this Sunday – do you think I should wait and see how that goes before dropping him?

Also, the order that you listed the adds (Bibee, Wells, Cecconi and Kolek) – is that the order you’d prioritize them? Same question with drop priority (Flaherty, Mize, Zebby, Springs).

Appreciate all the great help this year! We’re nearly there!
