For lack of a better word, Mike Fiers ($15,000) is currently on fire. It was not too long ago that the DFS community was stacking against the Astros RHP and now I am recommending him as a must start tonight vs. the Oakland A’s. Over his last 7 starts he is carrying a 2.40 ERA and just beat the As last week and pitched very well (6 IP 1 ER 5 Ks). The A’s have been better against Righties than they have against Lefties but they still ranked towards the middle of the pack in AVG and OPS vs RHP (.244/.759). One thing they do offer is strikeout potential as they are 3rd in the league in Ks. He can be a nice compliment to Max Scherzer ($25,200) and still allow you to get some nice bats in your line up. Lets take a look at the picks…right after that editing dillweed tells you about something else…EDITOR’S NOTE:  I’m beginning to feel like I’ve wronged you, Ignacio…neverthewho!  Gang, the Tuesday Razzball Listener’s League is on this week so bring your five bucks to the checkout stand and purchase one of the twenty spots, m’kay?  If not for us, do it for yourself.  NOW on to the picks…

Jhoulys Chacin, P: $13,600 – I recommended him on the road last week vs. the Cubs and he delivered a QS, now gets the Atlanta Braves at home. He has been lights out at Petco Park posting an ERA of 1.72 in 47 innings of work.

Justin Bour, IF: $7,200 – Has been mashing every pitch thrown his way this year and gets a struggling Robert Gsellman, who has allowed a 1.6 HR/9.

Jose Ramirez, IF: $9,600 – On absolute fire right now with 4 HRs and an OPS of 1.320 over his last two weeks. Has a great matchup against Tyson Ross who is still trying to find his groove after being out for almost half the year.

Wilson Ramos, IF: $7,200 – Complete flyer here, it will be his second start after missing roughly half the year. The matchup is solid and he was one of the best hitting Catchers last season.

Jose Pirela, IF: $7,200 – Has been setting the table for the measly Padres offense since he got called up but he does have value in tonights matchup. He is hitting . 320 vs. LHP and has a wOBA over .400.

Marcell Ozuna, OF: $7,600 – Has a great history vs. Gsellmas (3 HRs in 8 ABs), and has been a monster against RHP this season. 18 HRs against righties and a wOBA of .403.

Melky Cabrera, OF: $6,600 – Has been filling up the box score over his last two weeks, hitting .320. Although he has a tough matchup up vs. Luis Severino, his price will allow some flexibility with some pitching aces.

Mallex Smith, OF: $7,600 – Has done nothing but get on base and score runs since coming back from the DL. Has a fantastic matchup versus Trevor Williams and will be penciled in at lead off in a game were the Rays figure to score some runs. Also a huge threat to swipe a couple bags.

Hunter Renfroe, OF: $6,400 – For as bad as his season average is (.219), Renfroe has dominated LHP. He is hitting .319 and has an OPS of 1.042 against southpaws.

Raimel Tapia, OF – He was not listed on the Rockies Depth Chart on FantasyDraft, but he got the start last night with Carlos Gonzalez on the DL. He hit 5th in a very potent offense and gets Matt Cain so if FD adds him, YOU add him.

I’m Only Happy When it Rains

It is a clear night for the most part, we have a little rain threat in the KC Royals/Detroit Tigers game. No real PPD threats so every game is a go.

Doing Lines in Vegas

Biggest favorite of the night are the LA Dodgers at -215, I think that is a very good line to take the LA Angels at +200. They already beat the Dodgers last night and are you really going to trust Kenta Maeda? Another good value bet would  be the Texas Rangers at +160, they are squaring off vs the Cleveland Indians who are sending Mike Clevinger to the bump. The two biggest run totals of the night are games between the Baltimore Orioles/Toronto Blue Jays and Texas/Cleveland, both games are lost at 10 Runs.

  1. Peter Clement says:

Ryon healy objects, joining the Oakland volunteer fire department after that monstrous slam. He’s in my lineup, but so is fiers!
