Eddie Rosario and Eduardo Escobar might be two of the hottest hitters in the league. Over the last 7 games, Rosario has 4 HRs and 12 RBIs and is hitting a cool .443. As for Escobar, he only has a 1.267 OPS during that span. With John Gant getting called up tonight to start for the St. Louis Cardinals, the Hermanos Ed can inflict some damage to the young RHP. Gant has struggled in his brief chances in the majors; I expect more of the same tonight. Let’s take a look at the rest of the picks tonight for your DFS team on Draft.

Give me all the Cincinnati Reds tonight: Joey Votto, Scott Schebler, Jose Peraza and Scooter Gennett. Tonight they could be a solid stack option that a lot of people won’t be on. It’s a nice match-up against Jhoulys Chacin, who currently has a 5.19 FIP and a K/9 of only 5. May the BABIP fairies be on our side tonight. Peraza and Votto have been on a serious tear and I expect that to continue. Let’s take a look at the rest of the picks for Draft

Anyone? Buehler? Walker Buehler, one of the LA Dodgers’ best pitching prospects, is getting the call-up to face the Miami Marlins. He had a rough go-around last year in relief appearances in his brief taste of big league ball, but nothing a match-up versus one of the worst-hitting teams can’t fix. He has been sharp in his three AAA starts and has a solid chance to record a win, as the Dodgers are huge favorites. Marlins are carrying a .588 OPS against RHP, and have only managed to hit .218 during that time. Strikeout potential is also there, as the Marlins ranked in the top 10 in Ks. If you are willing to risk, you can load up on some big bats and score some value with Buehler. Let’s take a look at the rest of the picks….

Blake Snell has a real opportunity tonight to body-slam the battered Texas Rangers. Missing a couple of key components in the offense, the Rangers have managed a measly .674 OPS as a team. In addition to the injuries, they offer a huge strikeout potential, as they ranked 4th in the entire MLB in Ks. Snell has always been somewhat of an enigma but he has the stuff to dominate a lineup, as he proved his last time out (6IP 1ER 10Ks). Lastly, the game is being played indoors and offers no chance of a PPD, when it seems every game is being postponed these days. Let’s take a look at the rest of the picks…

Tonight on the slate we have some big time arms taking the bump, especially the top three options of the night (Noah Syndergaard, Max Scherzer and Corey Kluber.) Given my choice of first pick on Draft.com I would rank them accordingly..

  • Noah Syndergaard
  • Max Scherzer
  • Corey Kluber

Syndergaard gets the top nod solely based on his match-up with the light hitting Miami Marlins. The Marlins rank in the Bottom 5 in almost every single batting category and have hit two… I repeat TWO homeruns on the season. If playing in a 3 person slate on Draft, I would load up on the top bats early knowing you have a great option waiting for you. The top bat of the night for me is Nolan Arenado in a fantastic match-up vs LHP Clayton Richard. Arenado crushes lefties and has a great history versus tonight’s starter ( 11-17 1.773 OPS).  Let’s take a look at the rest of the picks..

On a night where most of the teams are on the back end of their rotations and have nothing to offer but Rump Roast, we have to look at Charlie Morton as a top option. He is the center cut filet of the night, 34 years dry-aged: Morton has been a revelation the last couple years, pumping up the velocity and missing bats at a career-high rate. The World Series game 7 hero now gets the sleepiest bats in the league: the Baltimore Orioles have been horrendous to start the year. They have managed only a handful of hits in three games and have offered solid strikeout opportunities. I can see Morton racking up the strikeouts, as well as having a great chance to get the W as Chris Tillman is his counterpart.

Now let’s look at the rest of the menu….

We are going to take a trip to California to look for our pitching options tonight. German Marquez ($14,100) is taking the mound in San Francisco and is facing one of the worst hitting teams in the Giants. To make matters worse, they might be without Buster Posey. For the year the Giants are hitting .252 against Righties and a lowly .685 OPS. Marquez should have a good chance at the win and some strikeouts. Meanwhile in Southern California Zack Godley ($21,600) is taking the mound in San Diego. Not to beat a dead horse but streaming guys against the Padres is becoming the norm. Doesn’t mean we cant profit from it, Godley has been at his career best all year and should be no different in San Diego. Padres offer a juicy opportunity to rack up the Ks and the win should be in play. Lets take a look at the rest of the picks…

Hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend but we are back to reality and have a full slate tonight. Since you are probably tired/hungover sitting at work, I am going to make this quick and easy to read. One Stack option that stands out to me is the LA Angels as they get to face Kendall Graveman tonight. The Angels have made some moves to push for the final Wild Card slot and they have paid off as the Angels have been playing some good baseball as of late. Over the last week the offense has been clicking, hitting .291 and an OPS of .861. They just ripped Graveman recently and I believe it should be a similar fate when they square up tonight. With Mike Trout and Albert Pujols having some serious BvP success, they should both be in your lineup. As well as Andrelton Simmons, Justin Upton, Kole Calhoun and CJ Cron, they should be able to rack up some points for your line up.

If there is one thing the Cincinnati Reds can do is they can mash RHP. They currently rank top 5 against RHP in wOBA and OPS and almost in the top 10 in nearly all offensive categories. A match-up tonight against Chris Flexen leads to a great stacking possibility. Flexen has been up and down in his brief rookie campaign, but he has been awful on the road. He has an ERA of 8.18 away from home and a trip to Great American Ball Park should balloon that number even further. Joey Votto (410,000), Scooter Gennett ($8,000), Scott Schebler ($7,200), Eugenio Suarez ($8,000) and Adam Duvall ($7,800) should all be able to light up the scoreboard tonight. The over under in this game is sitting at 10 runs, so a slugfest is expected.

If your eyes weren’t burned away from the eclipse, it’s great to have you back and reading the write up. We have a full slate tonight with no bona fide ace on the mound but that doesn’t mean we don’t have some solid match-ups to pick from. The biggest one that stands out is Lance Lynn ($14,800), he is being priced as a middle of the road started despite the fact that he has 2 ER or fewer in his last 9 starts. Tonight should be no different as the San Diego Padres come to St. Louis, Lynn’s home ERA is currently 2.62. The Padres are no secret to DFS when it comes to streaming pitchers but Lynn is priced really low and the Padres offer a great strike out potential. They currently rank 3rd in the MLB in Strikeouts and are dead last in runs scored.  Lynn should be able to have his way with this line-up and also have a great chance to win the game as Cardinals are significant favorites.

If for some reason you are watching Mariners baseball excluding those who live in the area *can’t be happy trotting out Yovani Gallardo in the middle of  a Wild Card Race*, you know the beauty of announcer Dave Sims calling “Boom Stick Baby” on Nelson Cruz HRs or “Giddy Up, Baby” on great plays. Well those are words we may hear often tomorrow night when the Seattle Mariners take on the Baltimore Orioles with Wade Miley taking the mound. Mariners are a great stacking option, led by Nelson Cruz ($10,200) who is currently on a huge tear. He has hit 9 HRs over his last 15 games and has an OPS over 1.400. A match-up against a struggling Wade Miley is a juicy one, Miley has allowed 17 HRs to right handed batters and a .851 OPS/.366 wOBA. All Mariner righties should be a go tonight Danny Valencia ($8,400), Jean Segura ($9,000) and Mike Zunino ($6,000).

On a night were aces such Corey Kluber, Chris Sale, Dallas Keuchel and even Jose Quintana in a great match-up are taking the mound ; it is key to be able to pair up one of those studs with a valuable streaming options. This way you can afford some quality bats to go with your top arm. One option that stands out to me is Ariel Miranda (12,900), the lefty has been inconsistent all year but has a great opportunity to produce tonight. Oakland A’s are one of the worst hitting team against south paws, carrying a .236 AVG and .683 OPS. By no means is Miranda a safe bet but he has significant value in a great match-up. Oakland ranks in the bottom ten in runs scored and are in the top three in strikeouts. That makes for a great streaming option, also allows some wiggle room to fit in one of the aces taking the mound.
