Hey Ralph
I’m in a 12 team dynasty league 7×7 format. Draft is coming up on Wednesday and I have 3 picks in the 1st round and 2 in the 2nd round. I was hoping you could help me out by ranking the following players in your preferential order, so I can strategize when to take each.
Tyler glasnow
Julio urias
Jack flaherty
Josh Hader
Sixto Sanchez
Brendan McKay
Hunter Greene
Royce Lewis
Vince Velasquez
Manuel Margot
Mike Soroka
Daniel Megden
Garrett Richards
Mitch Keller
I know I could have looked at your top 100 prospects list but I have a few now guys in there which is why I would really enjoy your help.
If there is a guy you really like can you put a star next to them as well.
Thanks!
@Joe: Margot, Lewis, Sixto, Hader, Keller, Soroka, Greene, Richards, Flaherty, McKay, Urias, Glasnow, Velasquez, Megden.
Yo Ralph, last year you mentioned a couple of your fav sites for prospecting. One was 361 and there was another one that i cant remember or find. I think it has a picture of like a brick wall at the top??? Does that ring a bell?
@Regan: Hahaha are we talking Halp’s Site?
I said I read 361?
Mr. Grey. You are not funny. You are so self-obsessed with your weak prowess that when you elude to Lipshitz and Israel, Mr. Lipshitz takes the classy road. But come on now. Take a cue and stop this lame ass attempt to be funny that is really just self-obsessed assumed prowess. Honestly who cares about that ring and whatever on a fantasy baseball podcast. I don’t give two shits about your person problems. However god bless. If you didn’t do this stupid shit all the time I wouldn’t mind, but with all do respect (because honestly, Razzball is 80% totally awesome) — you would be so much better if you had restraint and stopped this penchant for tangents that are not only irritating but not even funny. Take care.
@ginardo napoli:
However god bless? This sentence seems misplaced. Precedes not giving two shits about Grey’s person problems.
I give two shits but zero fucks. Maybe half a fuck.
@Justin: In other words, I understand personal problems but deciding if I care about wiping my ass and shoving the toilet paper in someone else’s face is quite different than what you call “fuck” — which is much more violating and aggressive to another person. Taking a shit is private. Once you cross the boundary and decide to “fuck” your are potentially violating another person.
Seriously. What the “fuck” is your problem with my “shit” ?
That is supposed to be funny btw.
Ie. what is boba? Los Angelino’s think their paradigm is instantly understandable by everyone and then judge those who don’t understand what the f**k they are talking about.
Lifshitz is the shit btw. Awesome intelligence. Less pretentiousness. Mr. Grey could learn a few things.
@ginardo napoli: Thanks! But Grey, not a bad guy.
Hi Ralph.
20 team keeper: In your opinion, who should my 8 keepers be?
hitters:
Ryan Braun, Kris Bryant, Edwin Encarnacion, Logan Forsythe, Dee Gordon, Jedd Gyorko, Eduardo Núñez, Chris Owings, Hunter Renfroe, Anthony Rizzo, Travis Shaw, Justin Upton
pitchers:
Tyler Anderson, Anthony DeSclafani, Sean Doolittle, Zack Godley, Shane Greene, Corey Kluber, Corey Knebel, Michael Kopech, Seth Lugo, Mike Soroka, Josh Tomlin, Michael Wacha, Jacob deGrom
Thanks!
@your mom: Bryant, Edwin, Rizzo, Upton, Kluber, deGrom, Shaw, and Knebel.
Hey Ralph!
Should be mentioned – all the pods you’ve done so far have been fantastic. Thank you for that.
We can discuss this as the preseason unfolds but I’d like to get your early thoughts on my keepers. I have too many great options (in my opinion), which I guess I shouldn’t complain too much about.
I’ve medal’d 4 out of the last 5 years (1st twice, 3rd twice, and 6th) so I was considering taking a slightly more long-term view with my keepers this year than I normally would.
I only get 4 keepers (4 keepers / 10 team league / so 40 off the board). Each can be kept in the round they were originally drafted in for two additional season… then they move up 2 rounds each year.
The Obvious (I think):
Alex Bregman – Round 24 – starts moving up next year
Bryce Harper – Round 5 – already moving yearly
Ronald Acuna – Round 24 – starts moving up in 2 years
Less Obvious:
Ozzie Albies – Round 24 – starts moving up in 2 years
Whit Merrifield – Round 24 – starts moving up in 2 years
Robbie Ray – Round 19 – starts moving up in 2 years
Jose Berrios – Round 24 – starts moving up in 2 years
I also have Conforto, Clevinger and Alex Wood (all in that 24th round) but I don’t think they are in the conversation with the others?
Thoughts? Help!?!
@RICE: I LOVE Albies. But you have to keep Ray in the 19th man.
At this point, if I told you in two years Scott Kingery would be a more valuable 2B in fantasy baseball than Moncada would you be surprised? I have both of them on my team, and maybe it is just Moncada fatigue, but my confidence in him living up to that number one prospect in the game hype is quickly slipping. And I’m not sure it is fair because he only has around 250 PA’s. I may be overreacting a little.
@Raoul Duke: You might be right on both counts. The Kingery thing wouldn’t shock me, but I think it’s waaaaay too early on Moncada. It’s not like he can’t get on base, he can.
@Ralph Lifshitz: also moncada’s prospect tool rankings always had hit hit tool pretty high, so that could easily get there at some point too.
Hey Ralph! Love your work. Would you trade Acuna for Tatis Jr, Kopech, and Gore?
@Lincoln Hawk: Damn, depends. It’s a good offer, but o would need two bats in a godfather offer
Alfaro is out of options and should be up with the Phildos all year? I think I recall you mentioning that during the catcher pod but wanted to make sure. Thanks man.
@knucks: Yes, he is 100% on the roster all year.
Late to the party but the coach of the Boston Bruins is Butch Cassidy. Real name Bruce but goes by Butch.
@Dubs23: Did I mention the Bruins?
