This week, I want to bring up a topic before it blows up my comment section as it seems to every season. This is something veteran RCLers will recall (and likely will be utilizing) and you’ll also be familiar with this concept if you’ve ever played a Yahoo league with an IP limit. The idea […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?As I watch the Bills steamroll through the Titans I want to continue to remind everyone we still have 3 Tuesdays worth of MLB baseball left. Hoping for a double-up sweep to close the season. I will be a little brief today as I got home a little later than expected. Analysis may not be […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?As Grey and B_Don sit down to talk about baseball on this week’s pod, we have but one question… WHAT IS GOING ON WITH JUAN SOTO? He’s approaching the Mendoza line for batting average in the 2nd half (while having an OBP close t0 .400, but still). Is there something wrong or just a blip? […]

Please, blog, may I have some more? This fall on Disney+ It’s LoGi! A Seattle Mariners pitcher, Logan Gilbert (6 IP, 1 ER, 5 baserunners, 11 Ks, ERA at 3.13) discovers his worst case scenario is still better than 95% of pitchers and decides to show them suckas. Critics rave, “He really shows them suckas.” “Suckas be shown,” another critic pronounced. “Showing suckas isn’t easy, but It’s LoGi makes it seem effortless.” The thing with starting pitchers is there’s just too many of them. In 2023 fantasy, the Scherzers, Coles, deGroms whoevers will be drafted early, but at a certain point, all those schmohawks drafting starters early will let up on the gas and draft hitters. While those hitters are being drafted, guys like It’s LoGi will just be sitting there, and you’ll be like, “Did I really just draft a starter who had a barely-3.00 ERA last year at pick 75?” And the answer is, as always, yes. There’s just so many pitchers that guys always fall through the cracks. Then next year It’s LoGi is again a 2.95 ERA guy and everyone like, “Damn, I can’t believe I drafted Gerrit Cole in the first 15 picks when I could’ve waited for It’s LoGi.” Yeah, no kidding. It’s always like this. Anyway, here’s what else I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball:
Please, blog, may I have some more?Hey everybody! This article will wrap up my 2022 starting pitcher analysis. I’ll explain my rankings process, highlight some notable successes, and highlight the deficiencies. Along the way, I’ll teach you how to build your ranking sheet from Razzball data! If you’re the kind of person that thinks managing an Excel sheet with 3,000 data points is fun, this article is for you!
Please, blog, may I have some more? We’re towards the end of our marathon, friends. One or two weeks separate us from fantasy glory depending on your league settings. If you’re in a head-to-head league, you’re likely looking at the 7 & 30-day Player Rater. Middle infielders Willy Adames, Gleyber Torres, Marcus Semien, and Gunnar Henderson have been among the hottest bats […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? With two weeks left in the regular season, the playoff picture starts to come into view, with a few races undecided. The Yankees’ Aaron Judge and Cardinals’ Albert Pujols are chasing their own pieces of history. The season has set up for an exciting finish, and then our first glimpse at the new playoff format. […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Yesterday, Aaron Judge went 4-for-5, 3 runs, 4 RBIs with his 58th and 59th homer, hitting .316, as he tightens his claim on the AL MVP. I’m Team Ohtani, but I will say that the Yankees are so bad outside of Aaron Judge — Giancarlo’s hitting .209! Judge for MVP is a perfectly reasonable argument to make. He truly is having an amazing season. On the Player Rater, he has about twice as much home run value as the third best home run hitter in the league, Yordan Alvarez. That is truly remarkable. But, just because that’s remarkable doesn’t mean he’s going to get to 74 homers for the home run record. National sportswriters counting down Aaron Judge homers like he’s not 14 away from the record with 16 games to play are just trying to generate clicks. Also, anyone saying Maris’s record is the real record is having a break from reality, let them be. It’s dangerous to wake them from their dream state. By the by, the case for Ohtani is quite simple — he’s a top 5 starter and a top 10 hitter. It will be Aaron Judge though, I’m not living in denial. Too much heat on Judge this year. For 2023 fantasy, Aaron Judge is gonna be so fascinating. Wouldn’t be shocked if we see him at number one overall for some, and as late as ten overall if he signs with a lesser team. Anyway, here’s what else I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball:
Please, blog, may I have some more?As we inch nearer and nearer to the end of the fantasy baseball season, there seem to be more and more clunkers down there in the Bar Mat. Lots of potential land mines here, double-dippers with a better chance of hurting your team than helping it. But hey, that’s why I’m here. We’re deep into […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Hey there! Do you look familiar? I recognize you from reading this article over the past 20+ weeks. While this may be the end, let’s ensure it ends on a high note! While many will be happy just to have made it to the finals, our goal is to hoist that trophy…or cash those checks. Whatever it may be that is your driving motivation. Let’s take it one step further, do you have any clue who Ken Rosewall is? Didn’t think so. What about Raymond Poulidor? The correct answer to that is “WHO?”. How about an easier one? Have you heard of Jim Kelly? Yes? Perfect! So what do those names all have in common? Ken Rosewall was a historic loser of the Wimbledon finals! How about Raymond Poulidor? His nickname was “The Eternal Second” due to his countless 2nd place finishes in the Tour de France. And finally, Jim Kelly. Yes, most of us old-timers know him from his historic 4 Super Bowl losses with the Buffalo Bills.
Ultimately, what has the paragraph above taught us? Finishing second is an easy way to be forgotten. To quote the great Ricky Bobby, “If you ain’t first, you’re last!” Now let’s Get Ahead In Head To Head and win that ‘ship!
