We’ve just got a quick hitter this week for our Razzball Commenter League update. I considered just not doing a post this week, but small weeks need love too, so here we are. With only three days in the previous week’s schedule thanks to the All Star break, everything is abbreviated. There weren’t a lot […]

The first half of the season is in the books, so let’s look ahead to some underrated players who are in prime position to return dividends and pad those fantasy stats in the second half: Matt McLain – Reds: Cooled off in the past month (14/4/16/.245/.333/4) but still productive with a 37/7/29/.291/.254/4 overall line. The […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? What does Josh Naylor (1B, $3900) have to do to earn DraftKings’ respect? Over his last seven games, Naylor is hitting .444 with five extra-base hits while rocking just a 7% K rate. That’s a 240 wRC+, if you’re into that kind of thing. And he’s still under $4K. Tonight he faces the Pirates’ Quinn […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Welcome back from the break! Now let’s get that money! And by “money” I mean an ulcer from starting Lance Lynn for every one of his terrible starts and benching him for all his good starts. We’re gonna be so rich with that “money.” One guy who is absolutely going to be “money” in scare quotes is Grayson Rodriguez, who was recalled to start on Monday vs. the Dodgers. Orioles weighing calling up Grayson vs. the Marlins this past weekend or the Dodgers, “Hmm, death by one cut seems much nicer than by a thousand.” Of course, I’d pick Grayson back up! Do you not know me at all? Still seems prone to command issues, but his 1.96 ERA in Triple-A is a big ol’ whiff (by hitters) of what could be. He might be an ace for the final two months. Might also be “money,” and that’s not money money. Anyway, here’s what else I saw this weekend in fantasy baseball:
Please, blog, may I have some more?Welcome back, Barflys! Hope you all enjoyed the All-Star Break. I know I sure enjoyed the chants of “Sell the team!” when Brent Rooker of the A’s got up to bat during the ASG. Good times, solidarity, yay baseball! This week there are a LOT of great choices among the double-dippers, but a whole slew […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?I spent the first editions of this column preaching long-term vision and patience. Unlike football, baseball, and its fantasy appendage, is a marathon of a season. You’ll burn out from the whiplash of a given season if you’re constantly reacting to slight fluctuation in player outlooks. Well, it’s time to throw that all out the […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?We took a week off from streamers last week because we only had three days to discuss. The All-Star break was a great time to recharge our batteries, though, because we’re finally down the stretch run of the season. What’s also interesting is that we have the trade deadline right around the corner. That will […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? For this list, I used the players’ ages as of July 9, 2023.
The cut-off lines for eligibility were 130 at bats for hitters and 50 innings for pitchers.
51. Rays RHP Shane Baz | 24 | MLB | 2021
With 40.1 innings, Baz remains eligible by the laws of this list. His value is pretty dependent upon your play style and/or league setting, I think. He’s a good bet to gain value between now and spring training 2024.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Baseball is back for the second half after an exciting all-star break. For the fans, it is the beauty of all the festivities. Between Julio and Vlad putting on a show during the derby and the NL winning for the first time in over a decade, the break was everything the fans could have asked for. For Major League teams, it is a chance to rest the weary before a grueling second half. Then for fantasy managers, it is a chance to breathe before searching for the second half gem that could carry them to the championship. This week, we look at a few interesting second investments in our hitter profiles for the rest of the 2023 fantasy baseball season.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Hello all, I’m back again for a Friday night recap. I swear Dan Pants took the night off just to subject me to the horror show of the latest round of City Connect uniforms. Friday night saw the Reds, Orioles, Rangers, Pirates, and Mariners proudly (?) sport their brand new City Connect uniforms and subject […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Guten Tag, Razzball Beings! It may be an “off” week for most of the league, but I wanted to share a few updates with you as we shift into the second half of the 2023 MLB season. First, did you catch the Home Run Derby and/or the All-Star Game? Despite a record-breaking performance of 41 […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?So in honor of the All Star break, which is just beginning as I write this before heading off the grid with the family for a few days, and will be just ending by the time you read this, I thought I’d take this opportunity to see which players made the biggest leaps in value […]
