We’ve got ourselves a pretty decent sized Thursday slate here on FanDuel tonight.  Thursday always seems to be a bit hit or miss, but tonight is a hit. None of that four game slate stuff, that’s for the birds, we have a full nine games tonight and plenty of fun to be had.  We have aces galore, GPP plays and the start of a four game Sawx vs. Yanks set. The only thing missing is a Coors field game. In lieu of that, let’s crack your favorite cold one and dive into some DFS picks.  Thursday is the unofficial start of the weekend after all and what better way to get the weekend rolling then winning some cash?

New to FanDuel? Scared of feeling like a small fish in a big pond? Well, be sure to read our content and subscribe to the DFSBot for your daily baseball plays. Just remember to sign up through us before jumping into the fray. It’s how we know you care!

Max Scherzer, SP: $11,800 – Max is the chalkiest of the chalk plays today, but it’s better safe than sorry in cash games I think.  You’ll have plenty of chances to get cute in GPPs, but with only one starter on FanDuel, it’s best to eat the chalk here and move on.

Clayton Kershaw, SP: $10,700 – Kershaw is the second best option for cash games, but not one I’ll be looking at.  On the plus side, Milwaukee is in the top 5 in strikeouts (Cincy is 20th). On the down side, the Brew Crew have a ridiculous lineup that could hit just about anyone around.  I’ll pass on Kershaw, but you do you.

Nick Pivetta, SP: $8,300 – The bane of Grey’s existence of late Pivetta oozes with peripheral upside while constantly letting us down.  Even he should be able to handle the Marlins though, who I’m surprised didn’t find a way to sell off Castro and Realmuto at the trade deadline.

Mike Montgomery, SP: $6,800 – Montgomery is GPP gold.  He’s been pretty meh of late, driving his price down, which means we can stack all our favorite bats.  He also gets to face the Padres who are DFL in team OPS. Gimme, gimme.

Carlos Santana, C/1B: $3,700 – Santana has been pretty hot at the end of July, finally!  He cooled a smidge while in Boston, but now would be a great spot to jump back on the Santana bandwagon, at home against Trevor Richards.

Chris Davis, C/1B: $2,400 – Davis is soooo cheap, he makes a great punt play in the C/1B slot and is an ideal GPP candidate facing Yovani Gallardo at Camden Yards.

Rougned Odor, 2B: $3,500 – Happy Andrew Cashner day!  I expect BAL and TEX bats to be plentiful in lineups today.

Neil Walker, 2B: $2,700 – If you’re going Scherzer, you’ll need a value bat or five.  With Chris Sale scratched, it’s Brian Johnson taking the hill for Boston. Nothing says Yankees/Red Sox rivalry game like CC Sabathia vs. Brian Johnson!

Adrian Beltre, 3B: $2,700 – Yet another Texas bat to squeeze into your lineup.  Beltre bats cleanup and should be primed to rack up points on the cheap.

Renato Nunez, 3B: $2,100 – From cheap to cheaper, 3B is a great spot to save some dough tonight.

Asdrubal Cabrera, SS: $3,200 – The Phils will be another team I’m looking to stack tonight.  Asdrubal has hit 2nd, 5th and 4th since coming to Philly, so either way he should be in a great spot, especially paired with Santana and possibly Hoskins.

Xander Bogaerts, SS: $3,500 – X vs. CC is almost unfair.  It’s a 10 run over/under in this game, so expect plenty of fireworks.

Giancarlo Stanton, OF: $4,400 – Time to spend that money!  Stanton is the number 1 ranked player today on the Hitter-Tron and for good reason.  Stanton takes on a mediocre at best lefty in Fenway park. There are not enough drool emojis in the world.

The Entire Rangers OF:  Joey Gallo ($2,700), Shin Soo Choo ($2,900) and Willie Calhoun ($2,200) are all great options tonight and depending on what you have for money leftover, you can pick and choose to suit your needs.  The BAL@TEX game has the highest run total of the night at 10.5, so you’d be wise to include as many of these bats as possible.

Joc Pederson, OF: $2,900 – Joc has been hitting leadoff against righties and we’ve got a pretty bad one going tonight in Jhoulys Chacin.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

*Raspberries Lips* Well, this slate was fun until I looked at the weather, hopefully things clear out by tonight but as of right now there are three games to keep an eye on.  MIA@PHI (bummer), CIN@WAS and ATL@NYM. It looks like there should be windows in Washington and New York, but Philly could be a washout.

Doing Lines In Vegas

As mentioned, BAL@TEX has the highest over/under at 10.5 runs.  The Brewers vs. Kershaw has the lowest over/under at 7 runs. Depending on the weather in Washington, I could see switching to Kershaw in cash games if need be.  Still, Scherzer and the Nats are huge favorites tonight at -270.
