I know the lede may scream Millennial, but I wasn’t born in the 90’s, my cursive writing is on point and I don’t wear a beanie in 95 degree weather. I never use shorthand when texting or emailing, but it’s tough to pass up on word play when Yu Darvish is part of the feature. Two weeks ago I gave you Tres Zurdos and this week I’m following up with Tres Diestros, or three righties for those of you who are north of the border. Carlos Martinez, $10,300 at Milwaukee is running point on our 3 headed monster tonight. I think most people will stay away from this one because he’s at Coors Jr, but he’s been lights out on the road this year. He’s 7-1 with a 2.36 ERA, granted his Ks aren’t where I’d like them to be, only 57 over 72.1 innings. Keep in mind the Brewers are still leading the league in Ks and in his previous two starts against Mil he racked up 19 Ks in just 13 innings. Darvish at $10,800 vs the Mariners is our middleman/comic relief for the evening. He walked 5 guys last time out, but he was in an National League park and he struggled to get the juices flowing in an unfamiliar place. Yu loves that hot Texas weather and I’m looking for him to bounce back tonight with at least 8-9 Ks to go along with a much needed Texas W. Closing for the Tres Diestros’s tonight is Jake Arrieta, $12,300 vs Pittsburgh. Yes I know he’s a bit pricey, especially since he hasn’t been the dominate Ace we saw in the second half of last season, but he owns the Pirates. When it comes to taking the mound against his Central League Rival he definitely brings his A game, as he’s 3-1 with a 2.67 ERA to go along with 33 Ks over 27 innings.

Evan Gattis, C $4,400 – Oso Blanco has 2 HR’s in the last three games and he’s 3-6 with a bomb vs HR prone Sean Manaea.
Luke Maile, C $2,300 – If you’re going to squeeze in the high priced talent tonight you have to cut corners somewhere.
Miguel Cabrera, 1B $5,400 – The pitcher formally known as Big Game James Shields is taking the bump in Detroit. That means that balls will be leaving the yard on the reg.
Edwin Encarnacion, 1B $5,000 – He’s facing Wade Miley in Camden Yards tonight, E5 will be locked and loaded ready for a big night.
Trea Turner, 2B/OF $4,900 – Turner the Burner is snatching bags like a Boss and he has six straight multi-hit games. He’s got a solid matchup in Philly against Jake Thompson.
Ian Kinsler, 2B $4,400 – I’m not rostering any other 2B tonight. Kinsler was in the MVP conversation less than two months ago and then he disappeared. With Shields on the mound tonight I have a feeling Kinsler goes yard.
Josh Donaldson, 3B $5,200 – The reigning MVP is making a late season push for a repeat. He pulled off a hat trick yesterday and he has 5 bombs in the last four games.
Jedd Gyorko, 2B/3B $4,600 – Thanks for showing up three years after I drafted you on every team. He’s got Zach Davies in Coors Jr and he’s got 5 HRs over his last 10 games.
Corey Seager, SS $5,400 – Coors is in play tonight and I will definietly be rostering the younger member of the dynamic duo. He’s rocking a solid 5/8 with a bomb vs Jon Gray.
Brad Miller, SS $4,200 – B-Rad, another post hype Grey sleeper on the list tonight. He’s facing Rick Porcello in Bean Town with that short Pesky Pole in his wheel house.
J.D. Martinez, OF $5,100 – Yes I’m picking on James Shields he has a 14.45 ERA over his last 5 games, those are some easy pickens son.
Carlos Beltran, OF $3,000 – I told you I was going to have to cut some corners tonight in order to fit everyone in. He’s facing a resurgent Hisashi Iwakuma, but I’ll take my chances at this price.
Eddie Rosario, OF $3,200 – BVP value of the night. He’s facing Trevor Bauer and he’s sporting a solid 8/16 BVP to go along with a HR, 5 RBI, and a bag.
Kole Calhoun, OF $3,300 – Pick your poison between Kole and Beltran.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
We almost had two straight weeks with clear skies. Keep and eye on the thunderstorms in the NYY vs KC 30% and the LAD vs COL 20%.
Doing Lines In Vegas
Jake Arrieta and the Cubbies lead the pack at -210 tonight followed by Rick Porcello and the Red Sox at -195. No surprise as Coors leads the scoreboard at 10 1/2 o/u followed closely by the CHW vs DET at 10.
