Ello Puppet. Boy, do we have a tough slate today. The lines in Vegas are too close on every game but one. We’ll have to be extra cautious in regards to which pitchers we target today. Roughly 3 weeks ago I was contemplating on trading for Jose Quintana ($18,900) due to his awful start to the season and figured I could buy low on him. Needless to say I got cold feet and never sent the trade through. No regrats, not even a letter. Ok, yes I regret not pushing the trade button. Quintana has looked great in his last 3 outings. Quintana had 3 quality starts in a row and 23 k’s in his last 20 innings pitched. The Orioles have been struggling at the plate recently and they’re having a tough time with LHP. They sport a 27% K rate vs. LHP which makes Quintana a great play today. As always if you have any DFS question please feel free to ask away in the comments section.

Chris Sale, SP: $24,600 – Best pitcher on the board alert. I had to at least mention Sale today as there is no one better on the slate. He gets a good matchup against the Twins and is the highest favorite in Vegas today. BVP suggest this game might be a little closer than Vegas expects.
Matt Harvey, SP: $15,000 – I’m not crazy about Harvey today but if history repeats itself he will be fine against the Marlins. His last two starts were atrocious and the Mets really need him to start dealing again. His ownership should be very low today and he’s worth a shot in GPP format.
Danny Duffy, SP: $16,400 – The DFSBot and I are not on speaking terms today because of Duffy. Our relationship is complicated at this time. I really like Duffy today against Cleveland and the DFSBot really hates Duffy today. Cleveland has not been the best against LHP this season and they have also been a bit cold in their last 7 games. Since the DFSBot and I are not on speaking terms currently I would use Duffy in GPP formats today.
Tyler Glasnow, SP: $14,800 – I feel it is worth mentioning that the DFSBot has Glasnow with the 2nd highest point total against the Brewers today. I’m interested to see how this plays out. The Brewers and Thames have been ice cold in this first week of May.
Ryon Healy, IF: $6,600 – If you’re using Sale today you’re going to need to find some value. Healy has been excellent against LHP and is a modest $6,600.
Starlin Castro, IF: $6,600 – If you’ve ever wanted to watch Bruno Mars play baseball, today is that day. Castro’s new hair cut is a spitting image of Bruno Mars and it seems to be working out well for him. This is Castro’s final game in Wrigley unless the Yankees and Cubs meet in the World Series later this year. Castro loves lefties and has been on an absolute tear recently. The fact that he is only $6,600 makes him a must play today.
Ryan Zimmerman, IF: $9,300 – Not much to say here other than he has been one of the hottest hitters this season and continues to crush the ball. Look for Zimmerman to exploit Jeremy Hellickson.
Paul Goldschmidt, IF: $10,800 – As much as I would like to fade Coors, I cant. Goldy gets a really good matchup today in Coors and will be heavily owned. It will be tough to have Sale and Goldy in the same lineups today given their prices
Jose Abreu, IF: $9,600 – I like Abreu as a sneaky play today. His ownership will be down today given all of the other matchups on the board and his pricing is a little high. Abreu is the perfect contrarian play and he is just starting to heat up. He has 3 homeruns in his last 7 games and is going against a weak Chris Tillman.
Aaron Judge, OF: $8,800 – Ladies and gentlemen, will someone please break out the chalk. Judge should and will be heavily owned in all formats today against Sir Yips. I’m not even going to bother convincing you as to why he should be in your lineup.
Michael Conforto, OF: $7,600 – Conforto has really taken advantage of the extra playing time since Cespedes has been injured. He’ll likely continue to hit lead off which makes him valuable at $7,600. I really like his matchup vs Urena today. I would encourage doing some mini stacks with the Mets lineup. Look for Jay Bruce $8,400 to do some damage in this game.
Eric Thames, IF/OF: $9,600 – I think it’s a perfect time to jump back on the Thames bandwagon. He’s batting .167 in his last 7 games and gets a good matchup against Glasnow who has been awful this season. If DFSBot is reading this I’m sorry, please don’t leave me, we can work this out. This will likely be more of a GPP play since Thames has cooled off lately.
Yasmany Tomas, OF: $9,200- Hard to believe you can find a Coors bat under $10,000. I will try to squeeze Tomas into some of my lineups today just to have some Coors exposure.
Miguel Sano, IF/OF: $8,700 – Call me crazy, but I will have an anti-Sale lineup in a GPP today. For some reason Sale has always struggled against the Twins and I want to be on the right side of history if it continues today.
Corey Dickerson, OF: $7,200 – Dickerson gets a good matchup against Biagini today. Depending how Kevin Cash has the lineup, I might do some Rays mini stacks with Logan Morrison and Kevin Kiermaier.
Adam Duvall, OF: $7,800 – I’m a little worried about playing Duvall against Cueto however Duvall has been on fire recently and I’m a big fan of this ballpark when the wind is blowing out.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
Attention! Attention! This weather report is brought to you by FredWord. It is currently 8am and the only trouble I see is Dodgers vs. Padres game. This game may not be played however we are still a long way from the start time. Keep an eye on the following games however there should be no issues, Astros vs. Angels, Nationals vs. Phillies, Whitesox vs. Orioles, Marlins vs. Mets.
Doing Lines In Vegas
Apparently Vegas is taking the day off because there is only one favorite over -150 and that is Sale. The rest of the games should be nail biters according to Vegas. Coors has the highest run total of the day at 11.5. Redsox vs. Twins and Dodgers vs. Padres have the lowest run total at 7.5.
