Please see our player page for Brice Matthews to see projections for today, the next 7 days and rest of season as well as stats and gamelogs designed with the fantasy baseball player in mind.

Whether you are an experienced dynasty baseball player or new to the whole thing, it is pretty easy to spot the future stars, such as a Kevin McGonigle or Konnor Griffin, to build your team around. Plenty of lists exist that rank the top prospects and then simply watching young players will give you all the information you need to know about which young studs to target.

If you are able to land these young players, your team will be looking good for many years to come. But what if you don’t land them for whatever reason? Don’t fret, because there are always hidden gems to be found – a player who may not help you immediately but could be a key player in a year or two.

I believe Brice Matthews is one of those hidden gems. Now 24, he has not set the world on fire during his brief major league career. But the tools are there for him to break out.

Let’s take a look at Mr. Matthews

One super quick word about the top 20 2nd basemen for 2026 fantasy baseball and all the 2026 fantasy baseball rankings, each ranking appears insanely long and it is, but I imagine in a lot of leagues guys won’t have eligibility, because I’m using the extremely lax Yahoo position eligibility (five games started). Without further […]

Happy New Year, everyone, and welcome to the first installment of the Top 400 Dynasty Players for 2026. Over the next two weeks I will take two giant bites out of the countdown as I rank the players from 400-301 this week and then 300-201. After that will come bite sized looks of the final 200 players.

When it comes to these rankings, I know some of you will shake your head when it comes to certain players.

I have my biases and a system in how I evaluate fantasy players – and have done so for decades – and you have your biases. That is what makes rankings so interesting and why you will likely look at a host of rankings as a way to gauge how you view a certain player and how others view a certain player.

So here is a quick rundown about these rankings.

1. OF Jacob Melton | 24 | MLB | 2025

A left-handed hitter listed at 6’2” 208 pounds, Melton at his hottest features speed, patience and power with serviceable defense in center field. His 2025 was interrupted a couple times by injuries, but he’s talented enough to push for a spot in spring. In 35 Triple-A games, he slashed .286/.389/.556 with six homers, 12 steals and a 20 percent strikeout rate. He withered under the bright lights, slashing .157/.234/.186 in 78 plate appearances spread across 32 games.

Hello, everyone. Welcome back to the Top 50 Dynasty Second Basemen for 2026 rankings.

Looking at this position overall, it is weak. Second basemen this season slashed .243/.310/.378 with a wRC+ of 92. The SLG, OPS and wRC+ ranked last among all positions. I guess the good news is that as far as average and OBP second basemen ranked fourth and fifth out of the eight positions.

Additionally, many of players in this group aren’t even fulltime second baseman. Many can play third or short or somewhere in the outfield, and those may actually be their primary positions.

Once you get past the top 15 or so players, it is crapshoot as to who to target. If you are rebuilding, just go young – for players like Kristian Campbell, Christian Moore or Kyren Paris. If you are wanting to win now and need someone who will likely play a lot of games, go for a veteran like Marcus Semien, Mauricio Dubon (who can play nearly anywhere) or a Jeff McNeil.

People celebrating their fantasy baseball championships today pic.twitter.com/4bavGwku88 — Razzball (@Razzball) October 5, 2022 That is the best encapsulation of the joy of winning a fantasy baseball league. I’m sick it’s so on point. I hope everyone got to feel that “very dorky dancing while very white music plays surrounded by middle-aged men” joy yesterday. […]
