Where I find the Four Opponent Powers most useful in fantasy is probably in discussions with ourselves. As I have suggested in multiple articles, we tend to be our own worst critics, a tendency that almost certainly isn’t constructive in any way. Another potential use of the purification practice is when we are wrong – which happens a lot when creating draft strategy, analyzing players, and coming up with FAAB bids.

Spring training lies to you. It always has. Batting averages spike, ERAs balloon, and every backfield breakout starts to feel like a prophecy. But every March also leaves breadcrumbs, real ones if you know where to look. Approach, bat speed, physicality, how a player carries himself against arms a level above where he’s lived. That stuff travels. This year, three rookie shortstops are on everybody’s minds and just how much they will be able to force the conversation. Konnor Griffin, Kevin McGonigle, and JJ Wetherholt didn’t treat camp like a tryout. They treated it like a preview, so let’s see what we can expect from this trio in 2026.

Hello Razzball Friends! Less than a week until Opening Day, and it’s already gotten pretty busy on the injury front. It’s still too early to act on some vague or “day-to-day” reports of tightness or slow ramp-ups. However, that doesn’t mean hearing this news doesn’t get our wheels turning, wondering how a roster that looked […]

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the first entry of Up-and-Coming Dynasty Players for the 2026 season.

The players I will feature over the course of the season are players  I think could help your team this season but should help your team in 2027 and beyond. Some players are well known, others may be a bit more obscure.

The first player I am going to feature is Jac Caglianone of the Kansas City Royals. Let’s put him in the well known category. The sixth overall pick in the 2024 draft, Caglianone sailed through the minors enroute to making his MLB debut last year. This is what I said about Caglianone last June when he joined the Royals:

It has not taken long for Caglianone to fly through the Royals’ system. In fact, it took him less than a year since being drafted last year. Depending on what source you look at, scouts grade his power as a 70 to 80. No matter what it really is, it shows just how much power Caglianone has and should produce at the MLB level.

He has all the tools to be a top homer run hitter while providing a solid batting average and OBP. A first baseman and pitcher in college, the Royals started playing him in left and right field last year and continued to do that this year to give him more versatility. He will likely get some starts at first base, right field, and DH.

If it is not obvious by now, this is a player you want. If you already have him, fantastic. Keep him unless someone offers you Fort Knox for him. If you don’t have him, you’d better jump on the waiver wire and get him.
