Hey now! You’re an All-Star! You got your game on, got paid. OK, maybe you weren’t an all-star. Maybe you’re like me and drafted the front five Padres batters in RazzSlam. That seemed reasonable, what with them making something like $8 billion in contract money. What did the Padres do in the first half? A 103 wRC+ and trailing the Minnesota Twins in homers. I mean, I can feel foolish for having a bad fantasy team, but at least I didn’t spend the GDP of Panama on players who can’t outperform Joey Gallo.

You can — and probably will — win many leagues with imperfect teams.

We’ve just got a quick hitter this week for our Razzball Commenter League update.  I considered just not doing a post this week, but small weeks need love too, so here we are.  With only three days in the previous week’s schedule thanks to the All Star break, everything is abbreviated.  There weren’t a lot […]

Welcome back from the break! Now let’s get that money! And by “money” I mean an ulcer from starting Lance Lynn for every one of his terrible starts and benching him for all his good starts. We’re gonna be so rich with that “money.” One guy who is absolutely going to be “money” in scare quotes is Grayson Rodriguez, who was recalled to start on Monday vs. the Dodgers. Orioles weighing calling up Grayson vs. the Marlins this past weekend or the Dodgers, “Hmm, death by one cut seems much nicer than by a thousand.” Of course, I’d pick Grayson back up! Do you not know me at all? Still seems prone to command issues, but his 1.96 ERA in Triple-A is a big ol’ whiff (by hitters) of what could be. He might be an ace for the final two months. Might also be “money,” and that’s not money money. Anyway, here’s what else I saw this weekend in fantasy baseball:

We took a week off from streamers last week because we only had three days to discuss. The All-Star break was a great time to recharge our batteries, though, because we’re finally down the stretch run of the season. What’s also interesting is that we have the trade deadline right around the corner. That will […]

For this list, I used the players’ ages as of July 9, 2023.

The cut-off lines for eligibility were 130 at bats for hitters and 50 innings for pitchers.

Here’s a link to the Top 25.

51. Rays RHP Shane Baz | 24 | MLB | 2021

With 40.1 innings, Baz remains eligible by the laws of this list. His value is pretty dependent upon your play style and/or league setting, I think. He’s a good bet to gain value between now and spring training 2024.

Baseball is back for the second half after an exciting all-star break. For the fans, it is the beauty of all the festivities. Between Julio and Vlad putting on a show during the derby and the NL winning for the first time in over a decade, the break was everything the fans could have asked for. For Major League teams, it is a chance to rest the weary before a grueling second half. Then for fantasy managers, it is a chance to breathe before searching for the second half gem that could carry them to the championship. This week, we look at a few interesting second investments in our hitter profiles for the rest of the 2023 fantasy baseball season.
