It’s another FanDuel Friday and as long as the rain holds off in Bawlmer, we’ll have ourselves a full slate.  Full slates mean plenty of options and I’m here to help you navigate the many choices.  Let’s take a look at the picks so you can win yourself some cash for the weekend.

New to FanDuel? Scared of feeling like a small fish in a big pond? Well be sure to read our content and subscribe to the DFSBot for your daily baseball plays. Just remember to sign up through us before jumping into the fray. It’s how we know you care!

Pitchers

Gerrit Cole, SP: $11,400 – Cole has at least 40 FanDuel points in 10 of 11 starts this year, giving him a nice floor. The Red Sox are second in the league in wOBA (.343). The Astros are slight favorites at home at -117.

Chris Sale, SP: $11,000 – Sale only had 19 FanDuel points in his first start as he failed to complete five innings against the Braves. Before that he had posted at least 40 FanDuel points in five straight starts. The Astros are sixth in the league in wOBA (.325). The Red Sox are slight underdogs at +107.

Stephen Strasburg, SP: $10,300 – Strasburg has posted at least 40 FanDuel points in three of his last five starts. The Braves are fifth in the league in team wOBA (.329). The Nationals are favored at -140.

Nick Pivetta, SP: $8,200 – Pivetta has posted at least 40 FanDuel points in three of his last four starts. The Giants are 12th in the league in wOBA (.317). The Phillies are slight favorites on the road at -110.

Cheap

Frankie Montas, SP: $7,200 – Montas struck out seven and allowed only one earned run in his first start. He had 46 FanDuel points. The Royals are 21st in the league in wOBA (.310). The Athletics are favored at -127.

Mike Leake, SP: $6,700 – Leake has posted at least 37 FanDuel points in two of his last four starts. The Rays are seventh in the league in wOBA (.324). There isn’t a line on this game at the time of this writing.

Hitters

Nolan Arenado, 3B, $5,500 – Arenado has double digit FanDuel points in six straight games.

Mike Trout, OF, $5,400 – He’s facing Bartolo Colon. Big Trout vs. Big Sexy!

Bryce Harper, OF, $5,300 – He’s homered three times in his last five games. Facing a right-handed pitcher in a good hitting ballpark is a situation we like to target with Bryce.

J.D. Martinez, OF, $4,900 – He’s homered three times in his last five games.

Midrange

Gleyber Torres, 2B, $3,900 – Torres is crushing it at the plate to start his career as he’s hit .319 with nine home runs and 26 RBI this year. He’s facing Andrew Cashner and his 5.05 ERA and 1.68 WHIP in 60.1 innings this year. This is a great price, especially if he doesn’t hit ninth in the batting order.

Nick Castellanos, OF, $3,800 – Castellanos is on fire this season as he’s hitting .332 with five home runs and 29 RBI. He’s facing Jamie Garcia and his 5.52 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in 45.2 innings this year. Castellanos has had three hits in back to back games and I expect another multi-hit performance here.

Yonder Alonso, 1B, $3,600 – Alonso has had at least 9.5 FanDuel points in five of his last six games and he’s had at least 24.7 FanDuel points in three of those games. He’s hot and the Indians are hot right now. We can take advantage of this price against a right-handed pitcher.

Cheap

Melky Cabrera, OF, $2,800 – Melky hasn’t even really started hitting yet and he already has eight RBI with the Indians and he just got here. He has double digit fantasy points in three of his last six games.

Niko Goodrum, OF, $2,800 – Goodrum is hitting .310/.375/.517 in 32 plate appearances against left-handed pitching this year and he has a matchup with Jamie Garcia, who has a 5.52 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in 45.2 innings this year. Goodrum is hitting .252, but has five home runs and five stolen bases on the season.

Greg Bird, 1B, $2,700 – Bird has 37.2 FanDuel points in his last three games. He’s facing Andrew Cashner and his 5.05 ERA and 1.68 WHIP in 60.1 innings this year.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

The game with the highest chance of rain is the Yankees-Orioles game, where there’s a 44 percent chance of rain at gametime.

Doing Lines In Vegas

I’ll take the over eight in the Twins-Indians game.
