Good Afternoon DFSers and welcome to today’s edition of Toilet Talk with Jared!
Today’s going to be an interesting day for baseball. It’s TRADE DEADLINE DAY! Make sure you are paying close attention to lineups. While you may see some get scratched late, this also leads us to some possible value plays where we normally wouldn’t see them. My favorite pitcher tonight is Tyler Glasnow ($9,500) vs. the Yankees. This isn’t the same feared lineup without Stanton, Judge, Torres, and now Hicks. I expect Glasnow to take us to the profit land tonight.

Tyler Glasnow, SP: $9,500 – Really love the spot for Glasnow tonight. As I said earlier, this isn’t a fearful Yankees lineup right now. Although they took three of five from the Mets this weekend, they easily could have lost all five if not for an bad Mets bullpen. Glasnow got up to 96 pitches in his last outing. That has me salivating over the thought of him pitching tonight.
Shane Bieber, SP: $12,000 – Another great pitcher in a great spot is Justin’s brother (don’t think they are actually related.) He’s one of the biggest favorites on the board at -240. He has a 15.75 k/9 over the past two weeks and has a 15.4% SwStr%. My concern w/him is his obscene price tag. If value opens up throughout the day, I’ll look his way, but going to be tough to fit him in with big bats.
Eric Hosmer, C/1B: $4,100 – There’s currently no run total in today’s Coors’ game. I expect it to be high, like normal. He hasn’t been hitting for much power of late, but he’s putting the ball in play. In his last 21 AB’s, he has 18 batted balls, with 9 hard hit balls. With spacious confines of Coors I expect him to put up some points for your lineup tonight.
Freddie Freeman, C/1B: $3,900 – Red Sox are scheduled to throw out Colton Brewer tonight. While he hasn’t been awful against lefties, I still expect to see Freeman put up some points tonight and pay off his salary. Over the past week he has two barrelled balls and a .414 woba.
Keston Hiura, 2B: $3,200 – Small sample BVP alert. Very small sample. Hiura has faced Williams five times with two homeruns. Really like Hiura tonight. Williams allows a lot of contact, mostly hard. I expect Hiura to get on base a couple of times tonight.
Nolan Arenado, 3B: $4,100 – I like to play Arenado when he’s zoned in. He’s zoned in right now. He has a six game hitting streak and had a .495 woba over the past week. He’s expensive, but he’s playing in Coors.
Dansby Swanson, SS: $3,300 – This should be a bullpen game for the Red Sox. That means, ALL IN. Swanson has really come into his own this year. Braves are one of my favorite spots tonight. Swanson gives you “cheap” exposure to the 1,2,3 stack.
Juan Soto, OF: $4,700 – He’s expensive but he has a great match up tonight against Spencer Howard. In his short career Howard has given up a .423 iso to lefties. Here’s my homerun call of the day.
Andrew McCutchen, OF: $3,100 – Cutch is starting to heat up. Over the past week he had .466 woba. In 18 AB’s, he had 16 batted balls. Love seeing that high of a percentage.
Rhys Hoskins, OF: $3,500 – Another Phillies’ bat that is heating up. 16 AB’s, 15 batted balls., .478 woba. See Cutch, but better.
Stack City
My personal favorite stacks tonight are Atlanta, San Diego, and the White Sox.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
There’s some potential for rain in the Philly area tonight so keep an eye on the weather. If it doesn’t rain I really like that game for some runs.
Doing Lines In Vegas
Cleveland, Atlanta, and the White Sox are your three biggest favorites on the board. Vegas has the Yankees favored over the Rays, but I personally like the Rays in this one.
