That totally sounds legit right?  Clayton Kershaw, $14,200 & Stephen Strasburg, $13,200 are squaring off in LA tonight and the place is going to be on fire, literally.  Game time is temperature is set to be around 97-100 degrees, so between the fastballs and the the sun, Chavez Ravine it’s going to be muy caliente.  Gun to my head, I’m going with Kershaw tonight because he seems like he’s going to be able to get through the heat and still go 7 or 8 innings.  Strasburg left early a few starts ago with cramping, so if dude doesn’t hydrate he may only go 5 or 6 innings, leaving precious points on the table for you.  If you want to stay away from this matchup all together then go with Madison Bumgarner, $12,800 at Pittsburgh, who just got victimized by Kyle Hendricks with 12 K’s in 6 Ings.  Granted the Pirates have no game vs the Cubbies, but if Hendricks can miss that many bats then look for Madbum to continue mowing guys down.  From a pitching stand point, those are the studs that will be highly owned, so lets take a look at a couple other guys who might be flying under the DK radar.

Drew Smyly, SP: $6,700 – The most Passive Agressive SP since Justin Masterson, at least according to Grey.  The price is right and he put 12 Ks last time out.  He could pay you in emoticons, DK cash or both.  Let’s just hope the right guy shows up for tonight’s matchup at Cleveland.

John Lackey, SP $11,800 – He loves feasting on Cardinals as he’s racked up 20 Ks in 14 IP of work vs his former team.  Look for him to continue that trend tonight.  Granted he’s not in the comfy confines of Busch Gardens, but something tells me he’ll still be gettin-er-done.

Josh Tomlin, SP: $9,100 – Yes, we pick on Tampa Bay quite a bit, but they having been playing better as of late.  With that being said Tomlin has been as steady as they come averaging 6 2/3 IP, 1.83 ERA and about 5 Ks over his last 6 starts.  He’s not going to WOW you by any means, but he should be able to get to 7 IP and 7 Ks tonight.

Willson Contreras, C: $2,000 – That’s Willson with two L’s.  The mashing rookie finally gets a start against LHP Jaime Garcia.  I have him rostered all over the place and after four days, Maddon finally let him pinch hit yesterday.  He hit a 2 run bomb, yes please and thank you!  Speaking of Wilson’s…………  Congratulations to my boy Wilson (with one L) who just pulled off the hat trick last Friday with his third girl, Adalyn Christina.  With three girls this dude is using every fantasy trick he can find to earn a buck.  Cheers buddee!

Jose Abreu, 1B: $4,000 – It’s been a while since this name has come up, but he’s got three bombs in his last 7 games and he’s facing a knuckle baller tonight.  If the knuck knuck isn’t dancing Wright, then Abreu could pop off for a big night.

Dae-Ho Lee, 1B: $4,000 – This dude’s name has been jumping out at me over the last few days and I love the matchup vs Pelfrey.  Day O, Dayyyy Ohhhhh.

Ian Kinsler, 2B: $4,700 – He’s putting up MVP numbers after a change to his swing.  I don’t own him anywhere, so at least I can pretend for a day here and there.

Jonathan Schoop, 2B: $3,400 – He’s heating up, 2 bombs over his last two games and he’s in Texas vs the Dutch Oven.

Nolan Arenado, 3B: $4,600 – He’s facing Paul Clemens who’s getting the spot start from AAA today.  Is it possible for a Torenado to pass through inside a domed stadium?  Yep.

Javier Baez, SS/3B: $3,800 – I love the matchup vs Garcia and he’s been mashing LHP, .350/.575/.997.

Marcell Ozuna, OF: $4,800 – OZUNA hit HR for your DK team.

Mike Stanton, OF: $4,000 – He looks like he’s finally breaking out of the horrendous slump collecting 6 hits over his last three games.  Another good week and he goes back to Giancarlo.

Mark Trumbo, OF: $4,500 – He’s the featured BVP with 5 HR’s and 12 RBI vs Derek Holland.  His BA maybe falling, but he will make it rain HR’s vs LHP.

Colby Rasmus, OF: $3,900 – It’s a short day, so he’ll definitely hit a bomb.

Seth Smith, OF: $3,900 – The super sneaky lisper is primed for a big night, I’m just feeling it.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

Soooo, things look really good around the league today, the only games in danger of a little drizzle is SF vs PIT 30% and TB vs CLE 20%.

Doing Lines In Vegas

Boston is the leading the pack vs the White Sox at -215 followed by MadBum -205 and Kershaw -185.  The BOS v CHW and SEA vs DET are supposed to be the highest scoring affairs with a 10 run o/u.
