As we approach the final hours of the trade deadline the dynamic for some teams has begun to shift. There are going to be values out there on pitchers who will be facing a weaker lineup than previously occurred. There will also be guys who might have switched into a much better lineup from a hitting perspective who haven’t had their price tag raised accordingly. Look for opportunities in the next few weeks where you can. You’ll also see players listed on wrong teams until the app catches up. I almost played C.J. Cron tonight in Coors before I remembered he’s now an Angel. We had a nice big cash last week in both tournaments and double-ups with the line-up shared here at Razzball. It’s always nice when your title leads goes deep twice in the same game. Let’s see if we can do it again tonight.

I’ll be bringing you my DFS picks for the main evening slate on Tuesday, August 1st, 2023. If you play on DraftKings, it is an 14-game slate starting at 6:05 Central time. This article will be primarily focused on the DraftKings slate, so if you play on Fanduel I encourage you to sign up for the DFS tools to help you make the best decisions for your lineups on FanDuel, DraftKings, and Yahoo.

New to DFS?  You can start playing right now on FanDuel and put our picks to the test.  If you’re scared of feeling like a small fish in a big pond, be sure to read our content and subscribe to the DFS Bot for your daily baseball plays. Brayan Bello, SP: $8,900. The Mariners look like they are throwing in the towel as they traded Sewald last night and it sounds like Teoscar may get moved yet today. The lineup should be timid tonight in Seattle. Bello has been very good up until his last few outings. His K’s aren’t what they were in the minors and maybe they never will be, but he showed some splashes earlier this year where he looked like an ace in the making. Could be a big showing this evening.

Freddy Peralta, SP: $9,400. Freddy gets the Nationals in Washington tonight without the Candy Man. Peralta hasn’t had a great season, but he still has high K potential as evidenced by his 13 strikeout performance last week. If he can find a way to limit the walks he should perform well tonight.

Mitch Garver, C: $3,300. With Jonah Heim likely done for the season, CoolWhips love Mitch Garver should see a large increase in playing time. It’s possible Adolis Garcia is out tonight and we know Corey Seager is. He’s still a decent power threat and should find ways to make an impact in a still solid lineup.  Oh, and his price is nice too. The Rangers will face Jesse Scholtens and the White Sox bullpen this evening.

Nathaniel Lowe, 1B: $4,100. The Rangers seem like a solid play tonight. Lowe has a hit in 13 of his last 15 games with three home runs over that span.

Jake Burger, 2B: $4,000. We’ll stay in the same ballpark and place a bet that Jake Burger can add to his 25 Home Runs against Andrew Heaney and his 1.69 Hr/9 allowed.

Manny Machado, 3B: $5,700. We’ll pay up for Manny again here same as last week. He gets to play in Coors tonight against Peter Lambert who has been surprisingly good his last two times out as he was stretched out as a starter. Those games were on the road however against the Marlins and Nats. At home against the Friars I expect a different result.

Ezequiel Tovar, SS: $4,200. I like the other Ezequiel here too as a part of a Rangers stack, but I just have a feeling about Tovar in Coors tonight without much help around him. Padres starter is still unnamed so it could be a bullpen day which may give him a shot against a few subpar options.

Willi Castro, OF: $2,500. He has become my go-to bargain OF the last few weeks as his price has stayed low due to lack of power. That being said he has put up six double digit performances the last few weeks. It’s possible he rides the pine tonight versus a lefty in Mikolas so keep an eye on it and be ready to pivot.

Eloy Jimenez, OF: $4,100. As long as he doesn’t get traded (Or hurt tying his shoes) it’s a good spot for a hot hitter in Eloy. He’s on a nine game hit streak with 5 multi-hit efforts in those games. He’s locked in.

Michael Conforto, OF: $3,700. He faces Zac Gallen tonight so not a great match-up, but he’s been hitting decently lately. Only issue has been a lack of power. It’s always the guy you least suspect.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

No Wind issues tonight. Possible weather delays or cancellations could St. Louis, Kansas City, and Denver.
